Preserving dried orchid flower with UV resin

- This video I am coating a dried orchid with UV resin to show the process of how I do it.
I have only done this with orchids, but I think the same process can be done with most flowers that do not have a ton of pedals.

have you used white UV resin to paint white orchids to hide imperfection on the flower? like translucency?
I have not, but i dont see why that wouldnt work.

Your light may not be strong enough. Are you using a light that is designed to dry UV resin nails? those are the best IMO. When I first tried UV resin I purchased a bulb and put it in a regular desk lamp and it was not strong enough. Try leaving it under the light for longer. If it is sticky it is not curing enough

@The Crone Tevys I think it is a nail one. A small one tho. Has button on top and I have to press the button 2 times I think to keep it on long enough

@@cleaa-wd8cw Mine will stay on up to a minute and i will have to keep doing it if i want it under the lamp longer. Im not sure if they make nail lights that just stay on until you turn them off. They might have lights now specifically for curing UV resin but I bet they will cost more then nail lights lol
how would you go about turning this into an earring? would you pierce it after preserving it?
Yes. Use a dremel or one of the manual piercing tools. I cant remember what its called. do it after the resin is completely cured.
would there be a way to do this that keeps the flower petals flexible?
Resin wont, it will be pretty hard. They would have a little give but not much. I dont know how you would preserve them and have them still flexible

I have never done one, but i think if you were super careful and worked slow and cured tiny sections at a time you probably could. Like go from the center outwards, so the center is strong enough to support the pedals as you go
