  • Episode 1 of our Spanish Bouldering series takes us to Targasonne (yes, we know it's not in Spain, but it's practically on the border and a perfect stop on the way down South). One of the sunniest places in the whole of Europe, and home to some world-class granite bouldering, Targasonne is also an awesome place for climbing with a young family thanks to short walk-ins, a high concentration of boulders, and flat grassy landings.
Caro climbs her first 7C after pregnancy, and James finds some surprising form climbing the areas hardest boulder, Queen of Hearts, as well as 3 other 8B's in the same day!

Okay. The spotting with sleepy baby on back, and the follow-up soft celebration is just the cutest thing i've seen in awhile!

Beautiful blocs! As it is one of the sunniest places in Europe, will it be too hot for climbing there in the summer?

Hey Marcus, it’s true that it can be warm, but it is also at relatively high elevation, so it’s not as bad as you might think. It won’t be sending conditions, but you can still climb easier boulders and have a great time.
