If you had a Milsbo time machine, what plant(s) would you send to your past self in January 2020? This choice take the 2020 plant market and your plant care abilities at that time into account.
Omg this is a great question! January 2020 I was a total newbie with aroids and I didn’t have my grow tent yet but definitely my albos/Aurea, my strawberry shakes, lynamiis, black maranta, Longissimilobum… I could have made a killing! Honestly if I had a Time Machine I’d just buy some things now and take them back in time to sell, haha! Such a fun question. I’d also tell Myself how to treat thrips 🤣
We have alot of the same taste i have quite a few of the same wishes 😍💚🌿☘ for 2023 and beyond my list is forever ebbing and flowing you do change taste and your plant knowledge is ever expanding and showing you new things so i dont ever just call it a one year wish its a maybe someday maybe tomorrow list lol still so sad i was not in the US to enter your strawberry shake contest that plant has me at hello suchba beautiful speimen but happy to announce in my little tiny island in east coast 🇨🇦 My strawberry shake baby ( well prop) will be arriving Feb 2023 😍💚💚💚 Looking like a good start to the 2023 and beyond list i hope your wishes come true this year and always ☘🌿😍💚🇨🇦
0:56 you’re not kidding either. Like eight months ago a pink princess philodendron starter plant in a three or 4 inch pot with decent variegation would cost me like $150. The other day for $13 I got to fully variegated mature plants and a 4 inch tall pup. Prices have been coming down.
This video offered up very satisfying “plant talk!” If I can make a suggestion, it would’ve been leaps and bounds better if you had B-rolled in pics of all the plants you mentioned that you own (ex: the “huge Vittariifolium” in your living room, or the little terrarium you’re dreaming of revamping to include some jewel orchids). Love your POV, and like you I’m currently on an expensive, or large plant strike! Moving forward, I’m choosing to live my plant life by the one-in/one-out rule! Best wishes.💚
Yes, I did think about that but unfortunately my computer does not possess the juice needed to run video editing software with that much b-roll for a video of this length without freezing so I kind of gave up. It’s really starting to limit the extent of what I can do on this channel. Hope to upgrade someday but computer equipment is super expensive unfortunately.
I have a handful, none of which are unobtainable in Australia so much as they are just expensive when they do pop up. Anthurium Moodeanum, Philodendron Squamicaule and Rubrijuvenilum are probably the most pricey here, and the ones I'd jump on if I saw a really good deal come around. I don't think I'll be buying many plants this year though. I've just moved home after only just feeling like I truly 'mastered' plant placement year-round at my old place, where I was having issues with too much light in the space I could keep plants (not a problem I anticipated having). I spent a lot of money on anthuriums over 2021 and early 2022, only to have issues around very severe and sudden sun bleaching when winter came last year, and having to cut a lot back and start again. I had to spend much time really understanding what could live where and when, and I have to start this process again in a new place with even more window exposure than last time (a good problem, in a way, even if I can't have much near the windows like I envision). I think I'll spare any potential new, expensive plants of this period of experimentation! Wishing you, your boyfriend, Ralphie and your plants all the best in 2023 :)
My wish list is pretty similar to yours. Monstera Burle Marx Flame has been my number one wish list plant for a while, and it looks like I'm finally going to buy one - just have to wait for warmer weather for shipping
Soo nice to see youuuu!🥰. The new year brings all kinds of fantasy ideas. The Red Anderson and scindapsis tricolor are on my list. It's a small list as my space is dwindling. I still have the Strawberry Shake and Pink Princess (with good genetics for both) on my list. I am not going to give up until I kill one.😁. Excited for your Victorian terrarium. So many talk about terrariums but, never do them, unless it is what their channel is about. Happy New Year 🎉 Kisses to Ralphie 😘.
I need some strappy bois in my life this year!!🥰 Can't wait for the goth terrarium! I have a wall clock that's supposed to be a betta aquarium but id never put a fish in something that small. Ive been wanting to make a lil terrarium with it.
I think it's so great that you still have a wishlist even with all the plants you already have! Philo bicolor is on my wishlist. And I really want to try one anthurium in 2023. I really like dorayaki and Selby's Silver. If you do get Red Anderson, I want to see!
Anthurium are so high on my wishlist. I bought 7 since the start of the year and I owned none before then. 😂 unfortunately most anthurium I want are outside of my budget. I thought it was funny that you said you prefer the bicolor over patriciae. Patriciae is my number 1 wishlist plant this year (I actually have a couples nodes I’m hoping survive) but I find the bicolor kind of meh. Funny how different preferences can be. I just think that a mature patriciae is stunning.
That’s awesome! I really love anthurium and I think they are my most rewarding to grow. I think the reason I clown on my patriciae is that I haven’t loved the growing experience with it. I’m not sure I have the conditions for it to really thrive but I’m going to repot it and give it a pole and see if I can move it out of my grow tent when growing season starts and see how that goes.
@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet I agree! The newest leaf on my anthurium crystal noid is double the size of the previous one and it’s still not hardened off! I’ve heard patriciae are native to ones of the wettest places on earth. So maybe it’s a watering thing? Just need to be careful not to rot the roots in the process.
Ok first of all, that Strawberry Shake 😍 Second of all... How do we control ourselves with videos like this that highlights beautiful plants 😭 The to-get list keeps on expanding and expanding. 🥲
Our wish lists are scarily similar 🤣 good luck on your search this year. Adore the docblocks…I have a mature black widow x Michelle which has just put out it’s first inflo 😬. This has to be the favourite in my collection but I need a zxm too though 🫣
I really enjoy your plant expertise. Hope you plan to be back often in 2023.
I CANNOT deal with your glorious in the corner. It’s too flipping beautiful ❤
Thank you! The wild thing is that the best leaves at the top didn’t even fit in the frame!
Yay new video from you! I feel you on not having space when plant prices are coming down! It’s so hard not to get them anyway!
Seriously!

A Milsbo time machine 😂 that’s so cute
@@heatherbocks It's the plant equivalent of a DeLorean, haha
Definitely a waiting game for pricey plants. 04:59 coordinated wardrobe? 😄

I 1000% feel you on the prices vs. space tug of war lately! They're soooo good
Can you do a video about Amazon products that we need for our plants?

Coming up on 4K subscribers! 😲
Very true!
Emerald Ice is very similar but also similar in cost 😅

Very sensible! I hope the transition period goes well. I know I’m going to have to do that eventually and I’m dreading it.
Still on my wishlist is philodendron strawberry shake with good variegation.
What is that big leaf plant it the background? I need that! Great plant 🪴
The big heart leaf philo is just a mature philodendron glorious. Great plants!

Thanks, Kimberly! I have a dream of having a whole dark Victorian plant room someday but ya girl has champagne taste so idk when that will ever happen

What plant is that next to your right shoulder?
Yep u should move... to the east coast near me!!! 😜
🤣 I don’t know about that… how would I transport a hundred plants all the way out there? That sounds miserable
I killed my variegated banana....600 bucks.....smh..
Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that!
Ok first of all, that Strawberry Shake 😍
