I keep a low power hand pump BB gun in my kayak. Don't have hit em anything close sends em scooting away big time and you will save the life of the fish your releasing

Nice fish for sure.
Might check your video and see if you might have "high sticked" the fish when close to the boat. It happens to the best of us in the excitement. A lot of good rods have gone that way. Sorry about it.
