- The wait is finally over. I finally have my PS1 Greatest Hits collection complete. In this video, I display the complete subset, talk about some harder to find games including showing Toy Story 2 and NFL Blitz 2000. Thank you to Justin LaClair and Mr. Jordan for making this possible.

I have to say that I am one those who don't specifically pursue after greatest hits. But I see your point in hunting those subsets down. Very interresting and challenging. You have done great job there. I wish you best of luck for PS2 Greatest Hits subset
Robokoffy why, they are cut down cheaper useless versions. Throw them in the trash.
They are the same games though so that makes no sense. How are they useless? Some greatest hits type releases are rarer and more valuable in some cases.
The Rugrats game is honestly pretty good, real talk.
The ending makes the game worth it.
Shhhh
first game I've ever played on ps1
Was just thinking this after watching the vid lol
Collecting 2 Symphony Of The Night's because they have different numbers under the ESRB rating? Damn, that's pretty hard core.
My nostalgia meter is at a 11 right now. WOW. Congrats on completing the collection! I wish I would have kept some of mine over the years. Thanks for the vid!
Blitz 2000 is so fun.
Congrats John! Can’t wait to see the PS2 greatest hits collection!
A lot of people have a huge problem with these green labels. I personally like them. I’m recently getting back into PS1 collecting. I love it.
Just realized, somehow I have played nearly all of these games at one point or another; life goes by fast indeed.
That's awesome, and congratulations! Setting the collection in its entirety was really cool; I never knew there were so many different Greatest Hits, let alone that there were variations of them. As a longtime gamer, seeing your collections is pretty awe-inspiring.
Good job on completing the collection 👍 have lots of great memories with the PlayStation
Glad you completed the set! Awesome!
I'm so happy you finally found those last greatest hits games especially NFL Blitz 2000. I have been looking myself for over a year after reading about it from you and never even saw one for sale. Also thank you for documenting and showing the discs for these rare games because I I have never seen more than one blurry video of that greatest hits disks online and barely any pictures. That is a true gem.
Man, Dan from retro protection is such a good dude, I honestly can't sing his praises enough.
I missed this video way back when it was released. I literally woke up last night wondering if you ever found Blitz, since I remember you saying you were looking for it. Awesome!
Congrats on another collection complete! A lot of classics in this video.
Congratulations for the set John.
Man so many great tittles right there. Growing up with the PS1 most of these were part of my childhood: Toy Story 2 is an amazing game, the Tarzan is also great.
Thank you for sharing this my friend.
Cheers.
Great Collection! So Envy 😊
What a superb collection! Stick blitz 2000 in the machine before ya bag it up John have a retro fix! Great game. Love your content 👍
John you are a madman and a king. Congrats!
Just WOW John!!! Must have felt I can't even imagine lol, but congrats we all love PLAYSTATION!!!
that is so awesome John! All these games are great games and were literally the "greatest hits" Congrats on another complete collection.
Congrats, John! I know how much you wanted that NFL Blitz to lock down that subset. Bravo! 👍🏼👍🏼
Game hoarding to the extreme, I love it, great video.
Great John! I know how much you like these. I'll keep feeding you more original xbox greatest hits as find them in the wild. If I ever see a NFL Blitz 2000 in the wild my hearts gonna skip a beat now. thanks for the education! =) -TH
Congratulations on the awsome complete collection
Holy cow! Congratulations!!!
Congratulations John they will look amazing in your museum some day love the channel keep up your amazing work God bless you and your family
I generally only collect games I want to play but having subset lists to guide the collection process is an interesting way to do it. This is a unique collecting model I may have to try. Definitely digging this. Congratulations on the achievement. Lots of memories with many of those games.
Congrats John on completing another set! Super cool, great video!
Hi John congratulations on completing your PS1 greats hit collection. I myself try to collect these types of collections but sometimes money plays a big factor but I don't give up because one day something will come my way eventually.
What a collection you have Mr. Hancock! Those games earned their spot there.
Congrats John
Great collection looks awesome
Congrats on the set! Definitely not an easy set to finish!
I seriously put some thoughts into collecting these years ago... good job! Nice set.
Awesome job John! Good luck with the PS2 GH collection!!
I'm going now I've gotta Playstation itch I gotta scratch
I know you have been looking for NFL blitz 2000 for awhile now. I have also kept an eye out and have never seen it at any store or anything. Glad you finally got it!
WHAAAAAT YOU LUCKY MAN!dude that is HELLA SICK! Insane!
Congrats 🎉🎊🍾🎈
That's really awesome it's really nice to see all those great games and how you are taking care of them is so great keep collecting great channel
Congratulations !
Love the GH collection
I have to say, I am missing the new/other intro.
Wow, very cool, thanks for sharing! Playstation (or PSX as we called it at the time) is my favorite console of all time. So good. Great collection. Congrats!
I'm so excited for you John I know you was tracking that one for a long time congratulations I'm down to dino crisis for my complete set 👍👍
Luis Rodriguez that game is a tough one. Good luck!
Congratulations! 👏😮
Its another complete colection, thats great !!!!!
Awesome video, John! PS1 Greatest Hits games looked the best IMHO. I actually owned a complete Dreamcast Sega All Stars collection a few years back, and while the popular titles usually commanded a higher price the were easy to find. Ready To Rumble boxing were so elusive that I almost thought it was a myth. Great work putting this together! I’ll make sure these games get added to our list. Cheers!
Ok! This is my opinion. To me I collecting games no matter is the greatest hits or not I just want the game to complete my collection at the end of the quest is the same game to play and I love that.... Congrats! John you are awesome....
That's exactly how I am...same game so it is not an issue. If I run across an original release version of a greatest hit game I have really cheap I'll pick it up, but I just keep both.
Cool collection! I usually go out of my way to get the black label / long boxes! Congrats on the collecting milestone!
Aside from the Bad Dudes "I'm Bad" intro on an older video, this is now my new favorite intro lol Glad to see this collection DONE!
Thank you again for all the support. Many more journeys of game collecting are in the future!
@@johnhancockretro glad to be able to help!
Wow incredible PS Greatest Hits collection John.
7 seconds in - I'm guessing you've scored the final piece of the puzzle John? Hahahahhaha it's really nice to see you so happy!
Congrats!
cool video i like the drive you have for getting all these games to preserve the history of gaming 👍👍
Awesome pick ups John with the Toy Story 2 and NFL Blitz 2000. I specifically collect PS1 Greatest Hits CD's since I'm not going to collect the entire PS1 library. Way to many games. Some Sega All Stars Dreamcast games are getting difficult to find also.
Awesome video as usual!
As far as my own preference, I usually buy whatever the better version is IF there was a revision such as a few of the final fantasy ports or Ps2 games like Jak X Combat racing etc.
Congrats on your collection, and I can't wait to see your complete Ps2 greatest hits video! :)
Congrats John, good one to knock off. They look amazing laid out like that.
Wow. Congrats Mr. Immortal. Trully inspirational!
If the PlayStation Classic was handled correctly, more of these games would’ve been on the system.
That, combined with a better price would have been better for the product as well.
Another fantastic achievement John. Congratulations!
I quite like that green sleeves, It pops out. Would love to see them lined on the shelf to see how they look ;)
Unreal collection, it's amazing how many of those games I owned and or played
PS1 collecting is my favorite. So much green!
This video has inspired me to start pursuing some of these subsets. It seems like a really good collecting goal that allows for much quicker gratification than something like going for a complete set.
Just need to think of some smaller ones that sound interesting to get started...
All the BEST for your haunting in PS2 ,John hancook simply the BEST.
Great collection
Cool John! Can't wait to see this displayed in the "museum" ;)
Honestly amazing!!
The immortal game collector great vid
I think very few people go after the _Greatest Hits_ version of PlayStation games. I remember the struggle of eBay hunting PS1, PS2, and PS3 games to find the original 'black label', non-Greatest Hits version, factory sealed.
It's still pretty cool to see a complete PS1 Greatest Hits collection.
But if I am being honest, the PS1 had its place in my gaming history but the games on the PS1 have not aged well; not to mention the resolution, fps, load times, missing frames of animation, etc.
The PS1 days were amazing for gaming since that's when I had way more free time and I had a lot of fun. But I'm glad that on the PS4, a lot of games are being remastered, ported, or remade so that I can experience the games again but with tech of modern day gaming.
I think that the PS1 gen had great games and more motivated developed. But it was held back by the lack of powerful hardware that we have now. These days, we have the hardware to produce amazing games, but we don't really get AAA quality games as often, and developers are getting lazy by releasing unfinished games being dependent on firmware updates and DLC released later.
I like that beat in the background
Had to rewind and hear the YEAAAAAAAH again!
Beautiful collection dude
Cool video. I usually treat GH versions as a black eye on my collection. Never really thought of treating them as a subset worthy of collecting. My first thought was no way there was only one Madden GH, but it actually makes sense that EA wouldn't deeply discount Madden when they release a new one every year at the same time.
Good job finally getting Blitz. Funny that such an obscure game is what was missing.
i just wanted to say that i think your an awesome dude, love the vids your collections, your passion. i collect too, love it, any video game. i haven't gone for any complete sets yet... so i live through yours. peace brother. take care of my games (**,) jk
Wow this video pops up when I’m right in front of my playstation games, I’m on the floor with them
Hey John i love you videos
Nice. Looks good👍
B-E-A-utiful! If I send you a game would you put your John Hancock on it? Haha. Get it... like the Declaration signing? I'm sure you heard this a million times. Haha. Congrats John! Love to see these videos!
These subset collection videos are the most fascinating to me. I actually watch these over and over so that I can eventually just have the list memorized. Yeah, I'm weird like that. LOL! But thank you so much John for making these videos. I can't wait until you get a complete PS2 Greatest Hits collection.
Well done Johnny Boy 👍🏽
Great video, ps1 was one of the best, the green spine is definitely rarer now
I Love the Greatest Hits Print More then the Original Print
The immortal John Hancock
Congrats on finding that last game, I know you've been looking for it for a long time! So many great games in the PS1 Greatest Hits collection. Cheers!
Awesome video! I don't like Greatest Hits versions myself but we all have our preferences. Hey Immortal John Hancock it would be really cool to see the North America Sega Game Gear complete loose set as well in a future video
I'm surprised the Greatest Hits version of "Toy Story 2" is so rare. You'd think it would've been more common considering it was a very successful game based on a very successful movie.
Nice, great memories
I agree these are aweosme I recently got some games for ps1 this year yard saling in my channel
I have all the Final Fantasy! Great Job!!
Nice to see it completed, still I prefer the European packaging of PS1 games. The cases differentiate themselves from regular jewel-cases, like with the Dreamcast they are thicker. Keep collecting.
I thought collectors hated Greatest hits but not John :P
FLipSide I do!!!
Sim City on PSX? I had no idea. Congrats on the collection.
My ex wife's uncles company made jet moto , twisted metal and a few others he gave me a few before they came out on the market great memories. single track was the company
John Smith great company!
Lots of good games from my childhood right there.
Best intro ever.
Awww! !I'm so jealous I love the ps1😎
Huge sled storm fan as well!
Do the covers around the cases help prevent disc rot? Or do you recommend keeping silica gel packets in the area where they are stored?
fantastic collection john, also, if you ask me ps1 is the best console ever made- not because of speccs ofc but because of the insane library.
Good luck with the PS2 set!
Xenogears, I'd do anything to see that game remastered someday. Most underrated PS1 JRPG in my opinion. It's still one I go back to almost yearly as it's just pure gold. The story line is enthralling and the end game fights have a solid difficulty, lots of exploration and awesome cinematics. Unfortunately I only own it digitally currently as I sold it with my black label FFs years ago but fully intend to recollect them soon.
