Thanks for the shout out John! The NES has always been my favorite console to collect/buy/sell/trade for. The artwork on the boxes is outstanding. As always a straight forward easy transaction. You are a great friend and customer (when I happen to have something you need) Cheers!
I am enspired by your collections man. I have narrowed down my collecting to just my favorite systems and would like to one day be able to say I have a complete collection. Keep up the great work !!! I love your videos.
John, great news man keep it up. I completed my CIB NES Set last Nov. The SE Box was no joke to find, but got a decent deal on a trade. hang in there bro, you are so close!
Hey John! As a lifelong video game fan who grew up during the NES era, I absolutely LOVE watching videos like this! I think I smiled throughout the whole video because of all the memories I have of playing these great games. Seeing ultra rare games complete like this never grows old either. I was actually lucky enough to stumble across Stadium Events back in 2010 (got it for $2 at our local video game store...NO JOKE...I've told so many people the story) and I owned it for a short period of time before selling it to another collector. I have made some pretty dumb mistakes too (sold Little Samson for $30 WITH THE BOX back in the late '90s) but I suppose we've all been there, eh? In any case, I just encourage you to continue posting new videos. It is such a pleasure to meet a fellow lifelong NES fan who loves video games. Don't ever change my friend. :)
Your game collection is amazing! I hope you reach your dream of opening your museum. Your videos are fantastic because you also teach us the history of gaming. Thank you John!
John, My name is Doug Whitmore. I'm a loyal viewer of your channel. I love your passion for gaming and the preservation of history you have undertaken. I collect a lot as well, no where near your collection. I was watching your recent video on your NES collection and you mentioned you were missing a box for Adventure Island 2. I would love to be a part of your collection by donation my box and manual of Adventure Island 2 to you. Keep up the good work and good luck on the NES collection! Please send me your mailing address so I can send it over to you! Thanks again John!
John I loved watching your collection and am a huge fan! Sometimes it's hard to believe that you've amassed so many games throughout your years of collecting. This is by far one of if not the most impressive nes collection iv'e ever seen!
Seeing all those boxes reminds me of all the video rental stores that went out of business and I can't help but wonder how many boxes were thrown away. I feel like they sold the carts and manuals but the boxes most likely were just thrown out. I do see former rental boxes here and there so I know not all stores did that, but you know many did.
As soon as you pulled out bubble bobble 2, i was really hoping you would pull out bucky and you did haha. Really cool that you purchased the bulk of your collection in person, that's really difficult. Awesome video.
Amazing collection John I love NES games my favorite console of all time and my first at the age of 3. Nintendo is huge part of my child hood like most of us NES,SNES,N64 my top 3 classic consoles of all time, just something about them was so perfect about em. Hope you finish your box set one day anything is possible.
I am glad and happy #JohnHancock that you showcased your NES collection. I feel very inspired to continue (on my behalf) to restore NES games, from a cmplete-in-box thrill. Thank you #JohnHancock !!
It was awesome to see your NES set. I didnt realise you had so many boxed. I expecially liked seeing the Wisdom Tree Games since they were not officialy licensed. I have always loved those games since i was little. I got Spiritual Warfare for my birthday in like 1993 and my cousin had the one with Noah's Ark on it when we were younger.
Awesome video John! Many games in your collection bring back childhood memories. I always wondered if collector's insure their collections in the event of fire, flooding, etc.
That sealed cheetahmen is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. That game eludes me and to see it sealed is beyond insane. I find that game to be harder to find in box than stadium events.
Very nice, John! I'm working on getting boxes and manuals for some of my NES games, as well. Those seem to be harder to find than carts sometimes! If you happen to come across any boxes or manuals for the first three Castlevania games, I would be most interested in purchasing and/or trading for them. Keep up the great work on the videos!
John awesome collection sir!!! I now know what heaven looks like! Lol, P.S. you sound like Wreck it Ralph. I had him in my mind as you talked through your collection.
There is a great video from gaming historian i think it is, who touches base on the fact that the video game stores all where sued for making copies of the gaming instruction books, so many either didn't include them with cartidges anymore - hired 3rd party companies to write new ones from scratch - or have their in store staff write basic ones from scratch. As a kid growing up in the 90s I saw variations of all 3 of these and didn't know the full story, I thought it came down to the quality of the stores efforts, that sucks because I was wrong. :P awesome collection dude.
Very true! My wife is truly amazing and patient with my hobby. She fully supports it as well as help me look for things. The kids are a large part of my life, and they enjoy playing the classics!
If you're a NES completionist, you may want to consider getting World Class Track Meet rather than Stadium Events. It's the exact same game but rereleased with a different title. WCTM is worth less than $10.00. I want to complete the official NES library as well, but my idea was to get WCTM, and a repro copy of Little Samson.
Congrats on your complete Set! Can't wait how your room will look when the dedicated atari room is finished! But your Ice Climber needs defintely an upgrade! :P
Always love seeing one of your videos in my notifications 😁 Have any of your students expressed interest in game collecting or retro gaming? Keep up the good work!
man, if it was about 15 years ago, i could have given you a copy of Womp'em complete a grocery store near me had tons of NES stuff from its rental days in the late 80s and 90s, but the store burned down in a fire before i could buy anything.
Nice collection Mr. Immortal! Very nice. My collection is nowhere near yours. I have a tiny amount of games. 42 carts to be exact. 14 in box. My best one is a complete Metal Gear complete with map. You have an amazing collection. How many games have you beaten so far?
John Hancock I was worrying, this collection is so important because its a reminiscent to future generation to come... Sumerian left behind collections of their cultures stories... These are ours, which connects to your tshirt you teach and you teach us video games fan, i think its secret! Thank man. Thanks for the fun videos you post.
A lot of the boxes you're still looking for could easily be had by buying the game complete. Then you could just sell the extra cartridge. A bit of a pain, but start from the cheaper stuff and work your way to the top.
Hey John, curious in regards to ps4 collecting. If you do collect for it, or even if you're not, if you did, what would you u consider game wise when going for a complete collection. What I mean is sure you have all the official releases from GameStop, Amazon, mom and pop shops, but what about all the exclusives such as Limited Run, NIS AMERICA, ETC. Would u consider those titles while collecting.
i was wondering if you've tested all your carts to see if they play, it's an immense amount of games so understand if you haven't. just wondering because i went through my collection a year or so ago and found that i had bought a few games that didn't work, i didn't test them when i got them because they were from large lots and are mostly games that i didn't enjoy. now i test everything i get just in case i want to make a trade or something, don't want to give someone a game that doesn't work
Mr. Immortal, do you find better deals online or in person? Unless I am at a yard sale, it seems good deals on NES games are very rare whether online or in the wild. Things changed so much in the past 10 - 15 years with NES prices.
I remember our local video rental store. They would be hard to read sometimes and it pissed us off as kids. We didn't know how to play some games due to not being able to read the shitty copy manuel.
That handkiss got me ROCK HARD.
Thanks for the shout out John! The NES has always been my favorite console to collect/buy/sell/trade for. The artwork on the boxes is outstanding. As always a straight forward easy transaction. You are a great friend and customer (when I happen to have something you need) Cheers!

Congratulations!! very amazing licensed nes collection, Keep it up. I'm currently going for a full n/a GameCube set so this is very inspirational
John, great news man keep it up. I completed my CIB NES Set last Nov. The SE Box was no joke to find, but got a decent deal on a trade. hang in there bro, you are so close!
I love the enthusiasm you have for your hobby. Makes the videos fun to watch.
Awesome video as always. That Megaforce poster is phenomenal.

I just wanna go through and look at all the art on the boxes.
Your game collection is amazing! I hope you reach your dream of opening your museum. Your videos are fantastic because you also teach us the history of gaming. Thank you John!
This is the system I collect for. So far I've been trying to re-buy all the games I had as a kid, I wold like to have a complete set someday.
Love your videos John! Keep it up :)! Jay from the UK!
Awesome collection. I finished my cart only set years ago, but it's something else to see them with the boxes too.

Thanks for showing your awesome collection John! Great vid!

Great collection John. Very neat and thanks for sharing
That sealed cheetahmen is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. That game eludes me and to see it sealed is beyond insane. I find that game to be harder to find in box than stadium events.
Finally!!!!!! I have been waiting for this video for a long time.
Thank you sir!
Awesome collection John!

John Hancock is my spirit animal. It's almost my gigolo name.
I'll give this set two Megaforce thumb kisses. Awesome stuff man!
You always smiling. you are great.
Thomas Anderson I agree but it better and nicer to show it, makes people around you feel better.
A long dream of mine to complete the nes collection 🤓 I don’t even need cib just having every cart is good enough ❤
As an adult i'm more impressed by being able to maintain actively your hobby while having a family. People don't know how hard it is John..
Very true! My wife is truly amazing and patient with my hobby. She fully supports it as well as help me look for things. The kids are a large part of my life, and they enjoy playing the classics!
Yes very lucky indeed, with so much going in day to day life its difficult at times to even find time to play the games that I have collected!
Your Stealth box is backwards and my OCD is screaming haha. Love your videos!
That's awesome man, thanks for sharing!

NES are the most beautiful boxes in the gaming industry
Teachers are among society's most important assets.
Congrats bro !
Just Awesome John
I like when John smiles and you cant see his eyes. I swear if i didnt know better id like to say Mr. Hancock likes to hit the pipe a little bit.
Congrats on your complete Set! Can't wait how your room will look when the dedicated atari room is finished! But your Ice Climber needs defintely an upgrade! :P

You have a Megaforce poster! That movie is so bad, I love it so much
+Jason Gillson I saw that movie back in the day and I thought it was awesome (and that was before the Rifftrax came out!)
Great video. You rock!!!
Wow 😮 love it epic epic collection
John, maybe it's because I'm a Rockies fan, but I think you really resemble Todd Helton.
had I seen this around 28 years ago I'd the happiest kid ever! :)
Flinstones...mmm...memories...but I'm more of Sega MD2 (Genesis) fan.
Tim Atwood needs to hook you up with a Stadium Events Complete in Box.
Awesome man! Very jealous. I only got 297.
Great collection. You got to do the same to your Genesis collction.
Cheers
man, if it was about 15 years ago, i could have given you a copy of Womp'em complete
a grocery store near me had tons of NES stuff from its rental days in the late 80s and 90s, but the store burned down in a fire before i could buy anything.
congratulations!
Nice collection Mr. Immortal! Very nice. My collection is nowhere near yours. I have a tiny amount of games. 42 carts to be exact. 14 in box. My best one is a complete Metal Gear complete with map.
You have an amazing collection. How many games have you beaten so far?
Very nice, thanks for sharing! Sucks there's no real practical way to display them all with the amazing box art facing out.
You're such a good guy :)
OMG! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
Crossing my finger for you to fullfill your wish and have a museum one day, also, does your collection insured?
Nimrod levy yes
John Hancock I was worrying, this collection is so important because its a reminiscent to future generation to come... Sumerian left behind collections of their cultures stories... These are ours, which connects to your tshirt you teach and you teach us video games fan, i think its secret! Thank man. Thanks for the fun videos you post.
1943 is addicting. Nice Collection. Do you have a GB, GBC and GBA collection?
Michael Aranda not full collections but collect for them.
nes games set i love it evertime looking at them.....how many nes games have you played so for ?
I have at least played every one of them at least once.
A lot of the boxes you're still looking for could easily be had by buying the game complete. Then you could just sell the extra cartridge. A bit of a pain, but start from the cheaper stuff and work your way to the top.
25 year collector and have been doing this for years. Saves alot of time and hassle to just buy the boxes.
Your shirt is awesome
What games are you missing the box or manual for? If I happen to have one I'd love to trade for some of your doubles so I have a single!!!
This is so awesome!!! :O
Hey John, curious in regards to ps4 collecting. If you do collect for it, or even if you're not, if you did, what would you u consider game wise when going for a complete collection. hi o g immortal john Hancock the nintendo entertainment system is my favorite videogame system
Enjoyed the video John. My mom thinks you sound like Kermit the frog, but hey that's her opinion, not mine. lol
Great way to get sent free stuff! You should get a shirt with your P.O box number on it for the vid!
Incredible!!! Do you have a CiB Korean Mahjongg?
nope
i was wondering if you've tested all your carts to see if they play, it's an immense amount of games so understand if you haven't. just wondering because i went through my collection a year or so ago and found that i had bought a few games that didn't work, i didn't test them when i got them because they were from large lots and are mostly games that i didn't enjoy. now i test everything i get just in case i want to make a trade or something, don't want to give someone a game that doesn't work
I test about every 10 years. I am due.
Man, Sega got it right with hard cases that you wanted to hang onto. Most of the cardboard NES boxes were just tossed in the trash. Oh well.
Loving the videos :) if you had to get rid of the collection to just five what games would you keep?
s10meb95 Ninja Gaiden Robotron 2084, Ghouls N Ghosts, Dark Wizard, and Rogue Leader.
Mr. Immortal, do you find better deals online or in person? Unless I am at a yard sale, it seems good deals on NES games are very rare whether online or in the wild. Things changed so much in the past 10 - 15 years with NES prices.
James Honeycutt Game cons are a good way to buy in person and leverage deals.
sometime i find good deals in person
That's the 1974 Flim Flam Arcade Machine under the towel right? By the way, whats your favorite NES song John?
José Rygar or Ninja Gaiden
yes Flim Flam Arcade
Guardian Legend should be an honorable mention
I remember our local video rental store. They would be hard to read sometimes and it pissed us off as kids. We didn't know how to play some games due to not being able to read the shitty copy manuel.
John do you keep the cartridges in the boxes?
