Father jack isn't always quiet. Infact he has his own catchphrase:
"Drink! Arse! Feck! Girls!"🤣
“That would be an ecumenical matter”…
I LOVE MY BRICK.
“I’m sooooooo, sooooooo, sorry.”
"More water".
Tired of briiìiiick!
You’re shutting it off too early. You need to watch it through the end credits as there’s always a continuation while the end credits are playing. Also, if I remember correctly (as it’s been decades since I’ve watched Father Ted) there is sometimes a finishing scene *after* the end credits.
Americans don't do end credits lmao.
@@Fireglo well you missed something :D
They should do - plenty of movies have mid or end credits, and I ALWAYS skip through to double check. Mind you, I am British lol@@Fireglo
RIP Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) taken too soon, passed at only 45 of a heart attack. Will be sorely missed.
"Kicking Bishop Brennan Up The Arse" is my favourite episode, among many others!
John and Mary the couple in the hospital were also on the first episode and feature repeatedly throughout. They are constantly at each others throats and then act like saints Infront of father Ted.
This was a thing in Ireland back in the day, I'm sure it's not uniquely Irish, but I remember seeing an interview with Arthur Mathews saying that a normal household would be in chaos.....kids running around going mental......wife shouting at the husband "YOUR NOT GOING TO THE PUB AGAIN!" Husband shouting at the wife "CONTROL THOSE FECKIN KIDS" But as soon as a priest comes around........the whole house turns into a utopia! I'm old enough and Irish enough to actually witness this. Its obviously exaggerated for this funny amazing show!
@@bobert76 There was a slight uniquely Irish element to them. In that until the mid 90s divorce was illegal in Ireland. So you had these couples that hated each other who were stuck together
'A song for Europe' is one of my favourite episodes. Ted and Dougal singing 'My lovely horse' still plays on a loop in my head!
The guy that plays Father Stone has a UA-cam channel and occasionally dresses up like Father Stone to deliver important messages. Pretty much everyone who appeared on this show was an Irish comedian, that's why their comedic timing is always spot on!
the funniest thing in the show, is when Ted is smoking, swearing and shouting at Dougal for not playing a simple note on the guitar, after hours!
It's the Saxophone solo a few minutes later that does it for me.
Play the f***ing note!
No. Not the first note. We've already done the first note. The one after the first note!
my lovely horse
This specific scene to me is simple but so funny. I thought I was the only one who thougt so.
This episode is still good but weaker than others. Please keep on reacting as future episodes are amazing and so goofy and hilarious.
Couldn't agree more, they get SOO much better than this
Yes I was thinking the same thing, it's a bit of a slow burn getting going with this series, but there's some great episodes later on. The 1 hr Xmas special is a must see Boomer, as well as the Eurovision, and the Holy Stone of Clenrichet episodes. They get better as you go on.
@@kevinmaestroful it's the passion of Saint Tibulus next.... imo the greatest ever episode! Careful Now!
My favourite is "flight into terror" 🤣
father finton stack
It definitely gets better. The first few episodes sets up the characters and then it goes into comedy gold. Goofy and surreal, and with a real warmth.
I love your reactions, and I'm so glad you're now enjoying Father Ted! However, I have noticed that you're missing a lot of the subtler details when you pause the video; a lot of the less obvious comedy is done through timing, and if you lose the "beat" you lose the effect. You need to back up 10 seconds whenever you pause, to give yourself a chance.
And yes, you need to watch all the way to the end of the credits.
This episode I thought was one of the weaker ones. It gets WAY better after this!
Father Stone (the boring priest) is actually based on a real Priest!
If I remember the story correctly, this priest used to visit the family of one of the creators and would sit there in silence.
He went with them to play pitch and putt and was caught cheating!
That's the slowest episode, but expected given the theme.. I think there's a scene after the credits in some episodes. In this one he gives a smile, lol
I cannot wait for you to watch the episode where they can't find their way out of the lingerie section of a clothes store... hilarious 😂
Comedy gold!! That was the Christmas special I believe.
I think the Eurosong episode is my favourite. My Little Horse.
hahaha! that's one of my favourite episodes.
The sheep murder mystery is my favourite, absolute genius
Father Jack is an alcoholic who sobers up once every twelve years. There is an episode that shows him sobering up and its hilarious.
It's where he realises where he is, stuck on an island with a bunch of idiots
Highly recommend the IT crowd. Written and created by Graham Linehan, same guy who made Father Ted so has a very similar type of humour
Big thumbs up for the IT Crowd here too. That’s a lot of fun, you Muppets! :)
@@rc-dk6by I never got into Peep Show personally, but now you’ve got me thinking I should give it another go.
@@rc-dk6by I absolutly adore peep show but im not sure would be a good show to react to. Its very dry humour, where as something like IT crowd is almost sureal comedy, with very high energy. Im not dissing on Peep show, I think its amazing but not sure about reaction vids to it
I'll dissent and note that The IT Crowd is garbage. However all the same actors are really funny in the greatly superior Nathan Barley.
@@eadweard. That’s fair comment. These shows don’t always strike a chord with all of us.
I enjoyed IT Crowd more than Father Ted personally, but maybe that’s because I’m a software engineer. The humour doesn’t work for everyone.
The Boomers have a great list of shows to choose from though. I still think The Inbetweeners is the best of their reactions though. I’ve never heard of Nathan Barley, but it sounds like I should check it out.
This show just got better with each episode. Please keep reacting to these, You two make it even funnier.
The priest in the pirate hat that invites everyone to a lift in the car is Arthur Mathews, one of the writers of the show. The other writer Graham Linehan also plays a priest in the show!
Dougal, Jack, Ted & Mrs Doyle are the main characters, every episode is brilliant but my favourites have to be Speed 3, The Christmas special and "Are you right there Father Ted", I must have watched every episode at least 100 times, dying to see you 2 review the rest :)
"It's Ireland's biggest lingerie section, I understand"
It gets better and better as it goes on. You need to watch the credits too
Agree.
There is often another visual joke at the end of the credits.
" Bottom " is a series you'd love too, and us fans 👊🏼💯👊🏼
When I didn't see INBETW in the title I thought "oh noooo, another day wasted waiting for nothing" but the I saw it was Father Ted and I smiled and clicked.
Please be sure to always watch to the end of the credits there’s often a silly moment right at the end
Yep, he missed the Tunnel of Goats in the last one and the small smile on Fr Stone's face at the end of this one.
The doctor said Father Jack had drank Baby Cham (which is a little bottle of chanpagne) & Harpic. Well Harpic is a chemical to clean toilets.
Babycham is Perry - pear (hard) cider
You have to watch 'til the end.
Father Jack is like Jack Nicholson when he played Johnny in Stephen King's 'The Shining'.
Father Jack is the sleeping one. All he says is, FECK, GIRLS & DRINK. He's an alcoholic 🤣🤣The show is a must watch.
That would be an ecumenical matter
@@Nialligimino I only attend funerals & weddings, but it's still piss funny 🤷🏼♂️
This is by far and away the slowest, least eventful episode of Father Ted. They really took artistic liberty with the title. 😂
I just remembered the character "Victor Meldrew" is in one of these Father Ted episodes, when they go to the Blue John mines. That's another series to look at reacting to: *One Foot In The Grave* 🙂
I don't believe it
OFITG is great.
I DONT BELIEVE IT. lol brilliant episode also Graham Norton in the caves lol 😂
@@stephenmiller195 Yes he was in a few.
I love that you do Father Ted and Alan Partridge 👊🏼🤍💯👊🏼
Nice one, KB & QB 😬
Can't wait till you get to the " Kicking Bishop Brennan Up The A*se " episode and the " Night Of The Living Dead " one 😅
In one episode the guest star is Graham Norton...the same Graham Norton who has the funniest chat show in UK.
I believe he is in 3 episodes
@@S.J.MORTIMER flight into terror, the mainland and hell.
I love the way your glasses fell onto your nose from your head when you sneezed !! Brilliant trick
Did you guys know that the guy playing Father Ted died just one day after filming the last episode of series 3.
You've got so many treats to come - episodes like Speed 3, Cigarettes Alcohol and Rollerblading, Song for Ireland are absolute classics!
Plenty more Father Ted to see some really goofy mad stuff you lucky people.
Please make sure to watch all episodes… it’s timeless comedy
The actor that plays Dougall is a brilliant stand up comedian.
Ardal O' Hanlon. Seen his stand up show a year or so ago. He is hilarious.
Father Jack is constantly passed a lot of priests in Ireland take to the drink as its a very lonely job and no ladies.
The bit where he came into the bathroom and sat on the toilet😉😊
You really should see the Irish family catching a bat on UA-cam, it's like real life father Ted. It's the most Irish thing you'll ever see
The writers once said that Dougal being struck by lightning 3 times is a clue as to how he is the way he is. Everybody always misses it.
You should watch episode 1 of series 2 (Hell) where Ted and Douglas go on holiday and Graham Norton makes his first appearance as Father Noel Furlong.
Father Ted was an awesome show.
Always brings back loads of great memories.
You should check out:
Season 1, Episode 4: “Competition Time”
Season 3, Episode 1: “Are You Right There Father Ted?”
Season 3, Episode 3: “Speed 3”
Those are my top 3 favourite Father Ted episodes.
wait until the milkman episode, think you two will like that one and also some brilliant Graham Norton cameos through out the episodes
You clipped the end off. There's usually more after the end theme or a pay off.
you wait til you do the one when Dougal is a milkman. absolutely crying
one of my favs
Dougal is like a labrador in human form!
Nah, he's more like a golden retriever.
You stopped the episode too early! One of the jokes is that nothing happens as the credits go up. They just sit there in total boredom.
Another priest to look out for in future episodes is Father Noel Furlong, as played by a young Graham Norton. ;D
So glad you're doing father Ted. Some other ones you might like, black books, blackadder, fawlty towers
“I hear your a racist now father” wait till you get to that episode
I use to love watching father Ted on a Friday night on channel 4 as ten year old. We only had 4 channels them days. Brings back loads of memories.
Drink, feck, girls and arse are basically the only words Father Jack uses! Feck is the Irish polite version of fuck! 😂
@@andywrong3247 😂😂😂 And ‘that would be an ecumenical matter’. Such an iconic character, especially when you consider what a charming, eloquent man he was!!
Oh great i have been waiting for you to do episode 2 lol.
I've recently discovered your channel and I love your reactions! With Father Ted, like a lot of people have said, you need to watch the credits all the way to the end, you'll miss so much if you don't 😊
FAther Ted is a simple man, not worldly but well meaning. the younger priest, Dougal, is totally clueless, and Father Jack is basically best left alone, as awake he is just a foul mouthed old drunk. :)
Just a quick point.
Father Jack does speak but with a limited vocabulary, his main words of choice are feck, arse, drink & girls.
WATCH TILL THE END! A lot of Ted episodes end with a tail clip joke.
The trip to the mainland is my favourite episode, its a must watch
One of my mates uses the "I'll have to stop you there" "why?" "No reason" every chance he gets
You two are so cute as a couple, good luck guys.x
Weirdo..
@@leevancleef451 hahaha
I think the Father Ted Christmas special is probably my favourite. That was between season 2 and 3 if I remember right. You'll get there when it's time I guess!
When the boys turn up with the guns, you'd better have a place for the safe keeping
Thanks guys! Keep them coming....😍😍
Sadly, Dermot Morgan and Frank Kelly the actors who played Fathers Ted Crilly and Jack Hackett respectively now no longer with us. Timeless comedy which has achieved cult status.
Father jack apparently the friendliest and well spoken man you will meet
Both died on the exact same day 18 years apart
@@doit4dparishthey did I've been to the Joker's chairs Dermot Morgan memorial in Dublin as well as the statue to the late Phil Lynette
You're really going to enjoy the third episode of Father Ted, it's one of my favourites!
It doesn't get any better than this 🤣🤣
Father Jack can and does talk. His favourite words are Arse, feck, drink and girls
That would be an ecumenical matter 😉
These Father Ted reactions videos were just resting in my UA-cam account.
A good long rest there
Father jack is always drunk you muppet 😂😂😂😂😂
Father Jack can talk and did so on the episode you watched by yourself, when he smashed the television up.
That would be an ecumenical matter
I love my brick!
Yes but barely. He can’t hold a conversation while he’s pie-eyed drunk!
Yes.....feck, arse, drink and girls are his basic vocabulary, lol!
Father ted gets better every episode!
Funny how these earlier episodes remind me of when I was temporarily living with my grandmother when I was a kid
You react to all my favourite shows growing up. Somehow watching your reaction feels like watching them for the first time again, especially the inbetweeners which I’ve seen to death
Tip for yous. Ya need to let the credits roll at the end as there is normally an extra clip at the end of credits.
You now have to watch it all, so many classics and not a huge amount of episodes
The guy is taking a shit while Ted is in the bath. Classic moment
"why's he in a 12 year olds room*
HE'S A CATHOLIC PRIEST!!!!
the most boring priest looked exactly like our secondary school's headmaster
The lesson from this episode is even though someone is unbearably quiet and boring. They just appreciate some company.
Father Jack, the priest who is mainly asleep does occasionally say things, mostly "drink, feck, girls, arse!"
You'll laugh when Graham Norton comes into it
Just wait for "close up, far away".
This episode is still a classic but keep watching, a lot of the episodes are more like the first one and even better and more silly.
That woman in the ward was Mrs. Doyle, without the special makeup.
Ah, you missed the pay off after the credits
queen boomers face was a picture when farther stone sat down on the toilet next to ted 😅
Please keep reacting to father ted, this episode is not the one I think of when I think of Father Ted! There is SO MUCH hilarious stuff to come!! Trust me
You will love Fry and Laurie ‘ pre coital agreement ‘ great watching your reactions 😃
The bath and toilet 🚽😅 🪠 should be separate rooms
Father Jack is always asleep because he's blind drunk... that's the gag...
We need more inbetweeners. Been a minute since the last one.
You talked over the "touch o' backdraft"...
Never mind, keep reacting!😀
You clicked off the video, before seeing the ending!!!
The credits roll, and then finally Father Stone SMILES for the first time.
You missed it, you should go back and watch. It's good.
Aahhh.... winter in Ireland. The best 7 months of the year!
My ex girlfriend said the most disgusting thing is peeing in the shower. I said hey, these things happen while you're taking a shit it happens 😂 I was joking, she thought I was serious.
we have very small houses in the UK compaired to America, but often we have a shower bathroom, and a cassie, cassie being were we piss and shit, and bathroom were we bath and shower, how do you not have a place for both in your huge houses, also as a student, i have seen people go in the sink, SINK, a place we fill with water to wash dishes, Ah well, we cant all be technologicaly advanced. :)
Hope you keep watching this, Ardal O'hanlon as Dougal is probably my favourite sitcom character right after John Cleese as Basil Fawlty in Fawlty towers
Among the many gems, Mrs. Doyle is exceptional!
A few episodes in this show gets hilariously funny
