    I am the plant manager of this place and I want to thank you for coming down to Goshen to spend time at the plant. Your knowledge of our product is on point! Great job on this walkthrough. One of my team members sent me this video. We had no idea you were in the plant that day. I am assuming someone from sales let you in. It is all good though, we are proud of what we do!! Thank you for sharing our product with your followers.

    Thanks josh for taking us on this tour from the start to finish of the RV. Just got done watching another persons post about issues they had with their RV by another maker and just from watching this post I know those issues would not be a problem with Wildwood. Makes me feel better again about possible purchase in future of a RV I'm just starting to take note of the ones I don't want because they don't have the quality built in them like we just saw here. Thanks again I found the very helpful and informative to see truly what something looks like under the finished product and how they have addressed certain issues so they litteraly are not issues for this RV .now I'm also understanding better the true difference between a residential fridge or not before only got the power source but with you emphasizeing what this one will most likely be found on the lot that lets me know why now combined with what I've just learned.this kind of video I really appreciated and look forward to more like it.

He has a great deal of RV and camera experience & should fill the role nicely with a little more practice. Hi Josh, I've watched this video several times looking to see how they fasten the roof panels down and the reason I'm doing this is because I have a new Salem FSX Toy Hauler as I've stated in a couple of your other videos. By the way keep posting videos I enjoy them. So getting back to the issue I'm having. A couple of weeks ago I took my travel trailer out of storage and to start getting it ready for the New England camping season. I was on my camper roof to install vent cover and I noticed the front roof panel under the membrane has lifted about 2 inches which is a huge concern if I move the camper. I'm in the process dealing with the warranty department and penitently waiting on Forest River to approve the claim. The cost of fixing this issue is roughly around $6,000.00. I have not used my camper once and I understand that these campers are cheaply made and rushed through assembly but Forest River needs to do better.

    Question Josh: What size studs are those in the sidewalls?
    SUGGESTION: maybe you could pass along to the factory: Those look like metal ferules they use to run the wires through the wall studs and they would also be used in the top roof sill......they make plastic inserts that fit in those ferules which keeps the wire from rubbing against the metal ferule. Great safety measure. They cost a whole 6 cents at Home Depot. Probably the bulk purchase they would make they would probably get them for half that price :) I saw the nose cap off a Winnebago trailer and they were using the plastic inserts to protect the wiring.
    Great Vid Josh.....I'm impressed with build quality!

      @PhiLeo7973 2 роки тому

      @@JoshtheRVNerd My guess as a fellow RV/ Trivia/ Construction/ Engineer/Architect/ Nerd like Josh is; WILDWOOD utilizing metal ferrules in the sidewalls is primarily for anti- drill wiring protection from inside or out( from a customer possibly attempting to screw in TV Mounts/ Coat hooks, anything), rather than wire degradation from internal chafing / rubbing routed through frame stud holes. Plastic ferrule wiring protectors would mitigate wire insulation damage caused by chafing during the severe stress of flex during RV motion but not hamper drill intrusion like metal would. Standard residential wood framed construction carpentry code normally specifies metal protection on studs where wiring or plumbing is routed through studs.

    Great tour video! I'm currently having an issue with water damage on my 2 year old Wildwood - Dealership in Anderson, In replaced a seal last year, but have yet to tell me where the leak is, but want 2K to replace the floor - still waiting on info concerning the damage to fireplace cabinet, and why I have to pay for all the damage. I love my Wildwood, but not very satisfied with Dealership.

    Great vid josh, I was wondering if Haylett have considered carrying the NoBo series and if so would it be possible to get a couple of vids on those? The 10.5 and 10.6 look interesting but there is not a lot of good videos on them.

      We have never considered them as we were already well established with the Geo Pros for which NoBo models were intended to compete. I'm absolutely not saying "we just don't feel it's a good product." Rather, just that overall we have found a little more overall value in the Geo Pro series. Adding another similar product wouldn't provide a significant addition to the lineup -- just a little more confusion.

    Hi there, new to the RV life and I bought a T241BHXL (Wildwood xLite 28ft -2021). So my Big ? is after watching your fantastic video, what are the black tubes running along the visible perimeter of the underbelly? Now I understand the xLite doesn’t have a forced air underbelly so I am very worried about the water lines freezing. What are these black tubes and what would help someone winter boondock when moving from backcountry ski area in CO/WY/UT to another? I understand skirting is helpful, but if we aren’t living in it, is there something I can do to help the water from freezing up in the fresh water tank, grey and black tanks, respectively when we are using it? Would you happened to know what is the temperature rating of the xLite? I was told by my salesman that this xLite had the winter package... is this correct? Thank you for posting this video and being a great resource!

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 роки тому +1

      Those tubes are your propane lines. The water lines are actually hidden inside the flooring so they're not exposed. It's not an enclosed/heated belly, but they're still protected lines.
      Wildwood puts their propane lines on the top of the frame rails to help keep them shielded from almost all possible road debris. It's really smart and costs nothing.
      Most RVs do not have a specific "here's the temp you can go to" sort of spec. The MFGs don't test them to that extent.
      An Xlite is an awesome camper, but made for "normal" spring/summer/fall camping. I apologize you've been misinformed regarding a "Winter package." They offer no such thing on Xlite Wildwoods. For something more demanding skirting, a possible belly heater, window coverings, ceiling vent blocking pillows, and a dehumidifier to remove interior condensation will all be wise investments. Heat tape for a water line (assuming you have access to a water line that isn't shut down for weather) will also be wise.
