Best is to watch it uncut on his Twitch VODs whenever you miss them, I do the same with Crendor's streams. They got some intro and outro gold from time to time.
Such an inefficient way to sell things. EDIT: Jesse should've kept Nidr in his party there, considering he has one of his party's most OP combo attacks.
It's funny that Jesse has issues fighting the monsters because they look cute, when the story says these cute monsters eat people. Reminds me of every cute animal images with photoshopped sharp teeth.
I'd argue it's a design flaw when you can't get across the menace of the ostenible monsters killing tons of people. You might argue that they're trying to be subversive about it, playing with the trope of evil=scary, but since the rest of the game is so formulaic, I doubt that myself. tl;dr: the monsters fail visually.
Oh man, I really hope you're going to finish this game. It's not that long and I think most of us would love to see it through to the end on your channel.
PLEASE PLAY MORE OF THIS. I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER NOR WILL I BE PURCHASING THIS GAME. PLEASE JESSE DON'T DO THIS TO US. JESSE, YOUR FANS NEED THIS FROM YOU.
You should always "Listen to Advice" it unlocks things sometimes and shows you tooltips. One tells you how to fortify your equipment with metals, pretty important
Most people would see a snowball riding super ferret dodge every attack and assume it's a scripted unwinnable-by-design fight. Not Jesse. He just repeatedly throws himself at said super ferret . And it works :3
OMG , seriously , I l iterally hurted myself while trying to wait until your next episode of Life is Strange ... JESSE please , I come visit your channel every day , just to see if there is another episode of it ( not that the other series that you do aren't good , but Life is Strange is one of my favorite games ) , so please , GIVE US MORE EPISODES . PS: You are my favorite UA-camr ( that speaks English ) , thanks for the atetion ( or maybe not ;---; ... )
Jesse's voice for Kir is a lot like the voice I gave several pokemon in the Mystery dungeon games. I'm not sure what to make of this. Is Jesse a Chimchar in disguise?
Come to think of it this game reminds me alot of chrono trigger. Chests you need to go back for(in chrono you needed to time travel to get the best loot) Endir is clearly chrono....... strong swordsman, most of his skills are literal copys of chrono's abilitys. (or I guess if your more into FF he'd be like tidus?) Setsuna has heal and support spells and is ranged (although marl aka the princess needs to learn magic first, tho alternatively she could be compared to yuna as well) Aeterna (frog obv look at dat hoodie and she is melee with some magic skills. Like frog is in chrono) Nidr tho........ I guess he'd be kinda like robo cos robo was the heavy hitter in chrono trigger.............. but to be honest nidr is more like Auron. (inb4 its revealed he is a friend of endirs father or whoever that old guy was and is actually a unsen.... *cough* dead.) Someone in this dev team or maybe the entire dev team knows the cult classics people like and praise and just made a baby of the combination it seems. Because that battle style where the monsters move around and you gotta time your spins so they hit everyone, just try to tell me that is not chrono trigger, Not all fights had moving enemy's(boss's for example) but most regular battles in chrono trigger had moving enemy's. Now if only we had a proper chrono trigger reboot/sequal.................
Jesse!... I was thinking... Wouldnt be better to cut these streams in... idk... +/- 30 minutes episodes? No need to edit that much, just cut and dump then through the day. More views, more likes and more lenght bearable episodes.
So... This game is like Chrono Trigger + bits of FF7, FF9, and FF10. Seems great. Though, some of the accessory mechanics aren't well explained at all.
So it's a Chrono Trigger game with a story copied from FF with text so boring and generically "woo we're so fantastical and magical and there's more to this world than there might be obvious can you feel the nostalgia be amazed by how we all sound so amazingly poncy and honorable and warriorish that you could swap out dialogues and it'd make very little difference because we're all so 2D bland and boringly written woo".
OMG what happened to their feet o.O why are they all walking on stumps, is this some weird fetish universe?! have the seals chomped off everyones feet?!
I know that Jesse needs the ads to suevive but man, I'm only getting Gov ads from my country, and that mans he's not getting any ad revenue at all :/ (Since law states that those ads are FREE from revenue, and a re required for every piece of media, incluiding YT)
I think it's because there are people who come into it expecting it to have more modern touches to it. This game is literally as if conventions as far as gameplay hadn't changed since the early 90's. So there are some things that seem vague, unbalanced or confusing, because it's basically playing a 20-something year old RPG with nice graphics. (Which I'm fine with, I love it so much I'm grinding all the loot before the final boss.)
ppl got valid points for giving this game a negative review It has: -anti climactic character development -only snow biomes -the game is quite short for 40 euros (roughly 10 hours) -the game is to easy. you can easily finish the game with only auto-attacks and cures -it is super linear -the dialogue has almost zero impact on the gameplay or the story Well for me thats enough of a list to not recommend this game.
I disagree with the play time and snow biome critique. Maybe it's 10 hours if you rush it as quickly as you can, but why would you play it that way. The snow is an aesthetic choice, as well as a thematic device. (It also sort of has plot significance.) I also don't think it's that easy. I haven't spent much time grinding, but there are enemies and bosses in the optional areas that literally one-shot my party first turn. I agree that it's linear, and a little pricey in some regions, definitely. As far as the character development and dialogue, I think those fall in the category of things that are right in line with how 90's RPGs worked. The game doesn't claim to be innovative or new, it says it's a love-letter to classic JRPGs, and that includes their flaws.
While 10 hours might be considered fast, I finished it in 18-ish. There is nothing else going in the game to justify more playtime. There are no sidequests. The game is literally just grind for monster parts to make your characters more powerful, but you dont even need them to be THAT powerful. Going into the last battle I had my characters at level 50 with not many fluxuation upgrades and I managed to beat the boss w/o disposing of the 4 minibosses. Look, the game is not all bad. The atmosphere is awesome, the art is beautiful and while the piano soundtrack is great, I would have loved for there to be other instruments as well. For 40$ you can get FF8 and 9 HD together and still have 8 to spare. 2 Extremely good JRPGs with over 80 hours of gameplay.
In the very least, I'm excited to see where Tokyo RPG Factory goes from here. For a first game, even with it's flaws, I think this is a good start. There's a lot of heart in it, and the fun little personal touches (a particular island comes to mind) and references to previous Square properties made me feel right at home with it.
Jesse's new outro should just be him saying "Owari... da na."
I hope you will continue your Setsuna playtrough. I really like playing the game with your voice acting in the background! it's so amazingly fun haha
I'm really glad he's started uploading his streams! Being in another time zone entirely, I always used to miss them!! :D
Best is to watch it uncut on his Twitch VODs whenever you miss them, I do the same with Crendor's streams. They got some intro and outro gold from time to time.

tl;dr: the monsters fail visually.
yeah, or it's literally evolution with people being attracted to cute things, and those cute things using that advantage to eat them
Oh god fuckin damnit. That reference with Kir and his brother Tor. Kir 'n Tor.
well spotted
Sure it's not just a coincidence though? Seems pretty unusual for a JRPG to reference an american game.
But WOW has never been a big thing in Japan so I am not too sure about that.
Man the people in felonia are lucky to have a pokestop right in the center of town
how many people were like "REVIVE THE KID"
DAY THREE !DAY THREE ! DAY THREE !
Thank god Jesse uploaded this, twitch playback is not easy to use
"Who are the real monsters" pretty sure Cuthulu turtle
The way he fought the Ball Ferrets reminds me of his Stranger of Sword City's Fairies. Got two times the laugh, hahaha.
Oh man, I really hope you're going to finish this game. It's not that long and I think most of us would love to see it through to the end on your channel.
i need plushies of the "monsters" from this game THEY ARE TOO CUTE
1:53:00 You can clearly see him breathing?! "I'm not dead yet!" "Yes you are, old man!" *CLUNK* "Ugh" "See, completely dead."
PLEASE PLAY MORE OF THIS. I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER NOR WILL I BE PURCHASING THIS GAME. PLEASE JESSE DON'T DO THIS TO US.
JESSE, YOUR FANS NEED THIS FROM YOU.
"I just murdered those children" ~Jesse Cox 2016
"Yeah, I'll watch that ass kid." ~Jesse Cox 2016
"That was a shitty blow" -Jesse 2016
He so frequently devolves into 'drunk-speak' when trying to keep up with the dialogue. :P
God damn it Jesse, I want more of this
"Fathaaa!.."
-Jesse Reynholm, 2016
too soon
YAY! More satsumas! :D
Also, Jesse, I *dare* you to go to CoxCon dressed as Setsuna's stunt double, Spaceballs style. XD
You should always "Listen to Advice" it unlocks things sometimes and shows you tooltips. One tells you how to fortify your equipment with metals, pretty important
jesse man, you can't do this to me. I have to go to sleep knowing that you have a video for me to watch now.
I'm really enjoying this. I'm definitely buying this as soon as I have the time and money to put into it.
awe but i love watching jesse play this.
Kir survived because (only a theory) he has magical defense.
He just can't take an actual physical punch. Crumbles like a cookie.
awesome been waiting on this , perfect timing :P
2:14:20 You can see the moment that Jesse start to want to kill the monsters in this game
you know i want drunk jesse to be on these :D
Most people would see a snowball riding super ferret dodge every attack and assume it's a scripted unwinnable-by-design fight. Not Jesse. He just repeatedly throws himself at said super ferret . And it works :3
Set-su-na.
I didn't have lightning spell against the turtle guy... damn it was hard.
I JUST FINISHED DAY 1! Awesome!

Please notice me Jesse Coxnpai
NIDR, THE VANISHING SWORDSMAN!
Please finish this game I just recently watched the video and I am invested in the characters now.
At least the boss battles actually look like monsters
Wooohooo! We're back!
This video must have taken a full day to upload! 1080 P at 60 Hz, being a three-hour video!
Jesse, bro, it's SPRITnite.
The battle music in this game sounds like Those Who Fight from FFVII.
I can't be the only one getting serious LoZ vibes from the music...
Depends which one
This music is generic as it can be, like every japanese game, 4 piano notes.
Moonshain It's very nice though. I listened to the full OST and enjoyed it greatly
i think you forget several songs from the FF franchise are not piano (namely One Winged Angel, Ozma's, Necron's, and Kuja's themes from 9)
"like every Japanese game"... you realize it's impossible to take you seriously when you make silly generalizations like that, right?
( 2:55:55 ) Why does Jesse refuses to revive Kir ? There's an item for that in his inventory... he passed over it, like 3 times. -_-
Jesse's voice for Kir is a lot like the voice I gave several pokemon in the Mystery dungeon games. I'm not sure what to make of this. Is Jesse a Chimchar in disguise?
So if spirit hoodie girl is frog.... does that mean that scythe wielding mage guy is the secret party member??? Keep an eye out jesse!!!
Weird day 1 never showed up in my feed.
Your youtube got hacked mate
Giant Turtle Boss reminds me a little of Yakra from Chrono Trigger.
i watched the ad becuse of you jess
I was like :0 its more life is strange or uncharted. Then I was only slightly disappointed because this is really good too.
Man these "monsters" aren't really monsters, they're basically animals
Come to think of it this game reminds me alot of chrono trigger.
Chests you need to go back for(in chrono you needed to time travel to get the best loot)
Endir is clearly chrono....... strong swordsman, most of his skills are literal copys of chrono's abilitys. (or I guess if your more into FF he'd be like tidus?)
Setsuna has heal and support spells and is ranged (although marl aka the princess needs to learn magic first, tho alternatively she could be compared to yuna as well)

Nidr tho........ I guess he'd be kinda like robo cos robo was the heavy hitter in chrono trigger.............. but to be honest nidr is more like Auron. (inb4 its revealed he is a friend of endirs father or whoever that old guy was and is actually a unsen.... *cough* dead.)
Someone in this dev team or maybe the entire dev team knows the cult classics people like and praise and just made a baby of the combination it seems.
The game is literally advertised as being inspired by Chrono Trigger and othe classic jrpg's.
I AM SATSUMA
JESSEEEEEEE.
PLEASE DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE POSTING/STREAMING MORE OF THIS GAME.
Don't do that to me.
Please.
What is it with Square Enix and airships?
easy to allow players to go were they want.
Airships are cool.
this makes me want to play chrono trigger again
SPOILER
Am I the only one who heard about Tenderville and instantly knew that Avalo was experimenting on/feeding his people to monsters?
Cyclone OP pls don't nerf.
Hide behind the door Hydor XD
Was Jesse foiled by a dodging enemy again?
Saria's Song. 4:16
2:07:20 Jesse's face xD
Is jesse going to upload any of the temporal invasion stuff?
Is there not a (day/part 3) anywhere?
Plz give us more
Jesse!... I was thinking... Wouldnt be better to cut these streams in... idk... +/- 30 minutes episodes? No need to edit that much, just cut and dump then through the day. More views, more likes and more lenght bearable episodes.
Huh, isn't that Kir character basically the FFXIV version of Krile? With the fuzzy ears and such?
2:03:16 Who ARE the real monsters in this world?
So... This game is like Chrono Trigger + bits of FF7, FF9, and FF10.
Seems great.
Though, some of the accessory mechanics aren't well explained at all.
Is he ever going to finish this game?
Iwaudi-Na da...
Is there any chance of a SKYRIM stream happening?
music reminds me of breath of fire 4
Where is life is strange!
Whoa this is on consoles?
Still no day 3 you cheeky nugget?
( 13:22 ) Compliment him ?
So it's a Chrono Trigger game with a story copied from FF with text so boring and generically "woo we're so fantastical and magical and there's more to this world than there might be obvious can you feel the nostalgia be amazed by how we all sound so amazingly poncy and honorable and warriorish that you could swap out dialogues and it'd make very little difference because we're all so 2D bland and boringly written woo".
How come so much ppl are saying this game is like FF, and almost no one says its like Tales of Symphonia?
Silly Jesse, your name is not Setsuna...
OMG what happened to their feet o.O why are they all walking on stumps, is this some weird fetish universe?! have the seals chomped off everyones feet?!
Where is day 3
I'm surprised Jesse kept Setsuntsun bc Dodger benched her super hard
I know that Jesse needs the ads to suevive but man, I'm only getting Gov ads from my country, and that mans he's not getting any ad revenue at all :/ (Since law states that those ads are FREE from revenue, and a re required for every piece of media, incluiding YT)
if endir Is chrono setsuna is marle aterna is frog who is nidr
Wakka from FFX :v
+atretador No, he's Auron from FFX. Big two-handed sword, permanently closed eye, and he's gone on a past pilgrimage. The similarities are bountiful.
Nidir is Auron from FFX, Endir is Chrono, Setsuna is Yuna from FFX, Aeterna is Lucca.
Please give us more Uncharted 4.
Why must Jesse hate me so :c
50:11
Jesse sell out ?
why is this game only mostly positive on steam
