I haven't started using my Mpc with Logic yet, cause I'm new to the Mpc family and want to get an authentic feel for the unit; but I have heard a lot of talks online about problems with running both together, thanks for assuring me, that the issue is just a like of knowing how!
Awesome! Anything Logic + MPC Live is helpful and appreciated. (also, your 909 and DX/DMX videos have become video-manuals for me, and I return to them whenever I forget something w/those boxes... Thx for taking the time! You’re a very clear teacher.)
First, the MPC has to be in Controller Mode. Then, go into Logic's 'Preferences' Menu > Devices 'tab'. Change the Output AND Input Devices to 'MPC'. Then connect your MPC outputs to your Mixer / Speakers and connect your Microphone to the MPC's XLR input, adjust gain.. Configure a Logic Audio Track's 'Input' to be the MPC.. Hit Record in Logic and SING!🙏🏻
Thank you for the great video. I'd like to ask how to set-up MPC software as a plugin in Logic. I installed MPC software and tried to put into Logic. However, both are completey separate now. How can I deal with?
You're welcome 🙏🏻 The Software application is separate to the plugin. So, you need to make sure you installed the AU. If you're not sure, run your installer again.. choose 'custom install' and choose 'only' the AU plugin. Once your installation has successfully completed, restart your Mac. Open Logic, go to Plugin Manager.. and re-scan your Plugins. The MPC Plugin should be visible in this list of plugins. If it is, make sure it is 'checked / ticked' and then follow the tutorial as I do, from the beginning 🙏🏻
sound good... hey do your kicks hit with the same intensity when recorded in logic as they are on the mpc.. i have been going back and forth to FL studio and like how easy it is to make the kicks really hit hard... couldnt do that in Logic but I really dont want to record into FL as I find it has to many steps but logic is very easy for me... would just transfer the track to fl and master or mix the drums.. drives me crazy....
In Controller-Mode: Yes. In Stand-Alone: No. I'm not a fan of the Digital-to-Analog converters in these new MPCs.. so in Controller Mode you can bypass them and use your own Audio Interface to do the conversion 👌🏼
Sometimes you have to do a re-scan under the Logic plugins (if you haven't already done that). You can check that the AU is actually in the plugins folder too.. do that first, then if it is.. do a plugin re-scan, if it's not.. try re-installing and then re-scan 👍🏻
@@Rojozproduction If it's not there.. it's unlikely it's installed.. so, I'd go for 'Custom' install of the plug-in.. choose only the AU plugin.. install it, restart your Mac. Not directly.. which is very annoying, but you can 'drag & drop' the MIDI of your Chord Pads out of your MPC into Logic using this method (just drag the next tiny icon I grab in this clip and you've got a workaround) 👍🏻 ua-cam.com/video/880b3gDyR50/v-deo.html
@@tonelab Thanks a lot yes I saw that video, its frustrating, there is not a single hardware chord generator like the MPC, I have the Komplete Kontrole and it only work inside Komplete, thanks for the answer
@@thepocketdolls7109 yeah, I hear you.. so there is a 'brute force' method.. where you just run your MPC-MIDI-out into your MIDI interface-that your DAW/Logic is using.. and 'sync' your MPC to Logic.. if you do this.. you can use the chord memory on the MPC-standalone mode.. and it will fire out MIDI to what ever is at the receiving end.. more or less.. so, if the Chord generator is what you really want more than anything else.. you don't really have to miss out, you could just kinda patch in a pair of MIDI's in/out of your MPC and leave the USB connected at the same time.. and just jump from 'standalone' to 'controller mode'.. as you need your chord generator etc 👍🏻
This was easier then expected. you can just use the midi out as an external instrument (the midi sign on the Mac track)and it work just fine PLUS you are not even in remote. because I prefer using logic then the MPC software for composing. it's better then Komplete Control chord generator, that you need to stay inside Komplete to make it work. it's so simple that it's weird nobody made a video about this. @@mrbarsHBINC well it's more or less a 'workflow' choice.. I prefer to import the parts in rather than record-into-Logic, because.. if you route into an AUX track, Logic can't record audio onto AUX tracks.. which means you have to route 'out of the AUX into a buss' ... THEN record the buss as audio, which I find a little bit 'circular'. So, I just drag/drop the parts using the Export feature 👍🏼
