Awesome video! I am getting ready to do this on my 05 chevy 2500 and being the fact that you just brushed it on you didn't have to use any reducers or additives that S8 reducer was just to wipe the debris off the frame right? how has it held up? I am using the same product
Sorry for the late comment, but holding up really well there are a couple spots were it was bare metal i should've put a primer down. Not the products fault so after almost 2 years I would say 10/10 in stoping the rust and making it look way cleaner
Bro get a HF spraygun,, good to practice on that hidden kind of stuff too. Get some experience spraying
Yeah I need to look into it, I also need a bigger air compressor. Maybe someday. Thanks for watching
@@generationworkz Ah ok, look for a 30gal 175psi and higher cfm at 90 is better, a unit like Dewalt for example. The higher psi will give you more usable volume in a small space. Use Milton Type V fittings for more airflow not the regular cheap Type M
Those cross members probably would not pass an inspection. I would have replaced all of them including the rear because you intend to tow with it.
We don't have inspections in Indiana. Yeah probably should've but I'm not hauling enough wait ever to be concerned about them.
Bro, how long did it take for the chassis saver to come off your hands!? I just used it today and my right hand is wrecked!
it took like a week at least cause it would not come off highly recommend gloves. I also ruined that pair of sweat pants.
Yea dude, I bought a whole gallon and now I'm kind of regretting it. Idk what I'm gonna do with all this paint. Anyway, the truck looks good, man! Keep posting vidz!! I'm learning from you. Cheers from Tx!
@@bendejo10 yeah I did to and i used a half of it on the back half of the truck and under the cab and plan on using the rest at some point on the front half. but yeah that stuff goes a long way for sure. And thanks for watching.
Did brushing it on still hold up?
Yeah it says either brush or spray on. I would say spray would be best but with what I have I’m not able to do that. As of now still holding up well. Thanks for watching
How’s that chassis saver holding up?.?
I'm assuming since he hasn't responded not so good.lol
How does it look 3 yrs later?
Hey Patrick thanks for watching. It’s pretty damn good. I don’t have any pictures. There are just a couple spots where a little tiny bit is coming through. But that’s most likely because it didn’t bond completely in those areas. If I was to do it again I would primer more of the smooth areas before painting over it. I would also recommend spraying it if you have access to the stuff to do it, but brush did just fine. Remember any painting is 90% prep and 10% actual painting.
How is it holding up?
For the most part very well, I just should’ve put primer on a couple spots that were clean bare metal. Which is in the instructions I just opted not to do it lol. But it totally stopped the rust. Combined with some fluid film your truck will be completely rust free year in and year out
