@@MaxChernov because Indonesia's main export and import port will be moved there. no longer in Jakarta, this is to reduce the price of necessities for people in the eastern region. so the Indonesian government chose in the middle, and that became Makasar. and it becomes closer to Australia, Philippines, Japan, Korea, China.
sure they say that now, but once they need a serious medical attention they leisurely go back home to the west. Good thing they never let go their 1st world passport. Also, Indonesia is massive not just tiny Bali.

But at the same time, because you don't have a lot of foreig born here, people still believe in harmful stereotypes when it comes to certain people.

according to wikipedia, indonesia is 4th country with lowest foreign born population percentage. after cuba, madagascar, and china.
