It's incredible & amazing, that he still smiling and talking like something never happened in his home country Russia. There's no war, no sanctions, no oppression from regime. In Russia when someone lie, very often to exaggerate something than of to deceive.
Tagalog and Vietnamese are also written with a Latin script. Weird that he would speak so authoritatively about this without having even seriously thought about it before.

He probably will open a resort, in Russia they call it Sanatorium. A Combination spa, medical treatment and resort (already built, i think). Targeting Russian tourist a.k.a Patients. It's a huge business, but The problems is when he will hire professional massage from Russia rather than local/traditional balinese. So, the Russian tourist/patient can communicate. Because patients mostly suffer from trauma (PTSD) back in their home. Most Russian tourist are bored abroad. This boredom should also attributed among other things, to their greedy willingness to get close to every person they meet; with him, at least, you can remember Russia...and not even throw a card game.

Bali is already overcrowded. Traffic is a nightmare. It's a playground for foreigners, whether beer-guzzling instagrammers or investors causing property prices to rise to dangerous levels (for everyone except them). Too much trash for them to deal with, too much pollution, farmers being pushed to sell their land, water shortages, faltering culture, taking advantage of immigrants... I could go on. Also, Bali is not Indonesia. It is a tiny part that is a vampire sucking all the tourism until it explodes in a bloody mess. This "freedom" is a balancing act, where you can do what you like (not true in Bali in practically any sense compared to other islands) and the fight against Indonesia's biggest issue, corruption. Good analysis of Bali and Indonesian economic potential, but a few factual errors - Indonesia has no lithium but rather has plenty of nickel, and it was for their nickel that they put in export bans to foster local industry! To tell the truth, I was reluctant to strike up acquaintances with Russians abroad. Even from a distance I would recognize them by their walk, the cut of their clothes, and mainly by the look on their faces. An expression of self satisfaction and contempt, even imperiousness would suddenly change to caution and timidity. In a flash, the person was on guard, anxiously looking around. "Good gracious! Have I done something wrong? Are people laughing at me?" that fleeting expression seemed to say. An instant later, the majestic physiognomy would be restored, alternating now and then with blank perplexity. Yes, I avoided Russians.
Just want to remind you fine folks that foreigners cant legally own property in Indonesia. Bali included. But again Indonesian law is notoriously known to be "loose". if you have the money, then they can make it happen. it's the indonesian way
While Russians tend to favor destinations like Phuket, Bali, and other resort islands, these preferences are not necessarily reflective of those in the broader European, American, or other developed country population. I am a SE Asian and there are reasons why Bali, Phuket, Cebu, etc.. are cheap and they would always stay cheap.
I really like Indonesian people, would totally live there, but I think there's a lot of issues around being taken advantage of by local people there. Its a great interview,, I loved the conversation, but the prices are way blown up at the moment. You can't compare Bali with a market like Dubai, sorry, Bali relies only on tourism, Dubai has an economy.

It's incredible & amazing, that he still smiling and talking like something never happened in his home country Russia. There's no war, no sanctions, no oppression from regime. In Russia when someone lie, very often to exaggerate something than of to deceive.
He escape from raids in Singapore. Recently Singapore has seized USD $4.4 billion linked to Russian crime and money laundering since 2019.
Singapore is now the puppet of America ! 100 %
Indonesia still has a certain level of sovereignty ! 🤔
Tagalog and Vietnamese are also written with a Latin script. Weird that he would speak so authoritatively about this without having even seriously thought about it before.
& no mention of Balinese language or the fact of massive Javanese presence not exactly being a smooth relationship. He's also FOS about $200-250 a month wages, most hospitality staff work for around 1- 1.5 million rupeeah a month, $80- 120. Near double the average Javanese.
I was in canggu 2010 its very peaceful... perhaps next I will go to gianyar
Banyuwangi should be other options.
These Russian Superfluous learned from the British. Before the war they already invest their superfluous money in Singapore, U.S, London and offshore through banks and shell companies. Then the war break in Ukraine. More sanctions to Russian oligarchs and wealthy individuals. To avoid the sanctions/seized they move their investment to Bali. In the meantime Indonesia need foreign direct investment.
I believe Alex is a very2 Local Foreigner, way knowing everything' too much about Bali(probably little bit others part of Indonesia) rather than Balinese themself...😁👍🇮🇩
Is little bit sad when Foreigns investors in Bali who make businesses on any kind of properties , the mostly focuses for foreigners markets to enjoy Bali . For Locals ( Balinese people ) it’s impossible. For Balinese is not get so much , maybe they get job as basic workers. And most all money back to foreigns countries, not stay in Bali . Without control/ regulations from locals authorities properly ,Bali will be destroyed ( it has already damaged) no more land left, no more beauty of of nature, just full of concrete everywhere and traffic jams
Even I am an Indonesian, I like to watch & listen carefully your explanations on Bali & Indonesia in general. But, I do believe that you are THE GOOD Russian , not the other who didn't respect local custom & Indonesian regulations. On the contrary, by your investments, you also provide jobs for local people. Thanks a lot....
Indonesia is open to foreigners who respect local culture and bring positive impact to the local population.

Padang-padang is DEFINITELY the best hidden GEM in Bali. I love the people, culture and the food. Hopefully I can retire there within 10 years.
its really impressive, you really know where you play, the political view, investment value. Interesting to learn these kind of things, I hope I can learning more about real estate business from you

Freedom breeds corruption, and while I enjoy the freedom of living here, sometimes it can really hamper development and cause serious quality of life issues. I understand this is just an interview and not a deep dive but I would like people to understand the situation more. Horas dari Sumatra.
This. The guy is painting a distorted picture of Bali because it’s in his business interests. Surprised I had to scroll so far down in the comments to find someone who tells the reality of Bali.
@@uatevaAgree. This dude talks a lot of nonsense. Bali is being destroyed by all, including locals and foreigners. Bali is long gone. Overdeveloped. Traffic jammed. Polluted. It's really too bad. I remember Bali 40 years ago when it was pure magic.
I agree with everything you said… I literally ride my scooter wearing a gas mask, that’s how bad the pollution is with all the smoke blowing pieces of shit cars and trucks … I come from Australia , and while we are being strangled to death with laws amd regulations, I do believe some regulations are necessary, Especially in Bali’s case.. Bali is already fuked and there is no coming back from here.. mark my works , 5-10 years Bali will implode!! This is what you get with no regulation and 100 percent corruption
Good analysis of Bali and Indonesian economic potential, but a few factual errors - Indonesia has no lithium but rather has plenty of nickel, and it was for their nickel that they put in export bans to foster local industry! Also us Warga Negara Asing (foreigners) can't own real estate , only through using a local nominee, so buying villas etc is a little risky in my opinion, although the developers seem to have some quasi legal work arounds!
I watch this video, everytime i see the B roll, man it's bring back the memories. Even as Indonesian, I rarely visit bali because dont have times, and fulus hehe.
lovely conversation, i hope you'll make more Indonesian content in the future💙
This guy really knows what he's talking about.. excellent
I read in news that recently Indonesian Government re-open the direct flights Moscow-Bali-Moscow. Russian tourist will be flew directly to Bali. The Russian escapist will be flooded in Bali, as they escape from the big problem, the war in Ukraine. This gonna bring a lot more trouble makers coming to Bali. The government of Indonesia already warned that they will kick out the bad tourist from Bali without any hesitation. Russian tourist was under watches.
Thanks for the reminder!
Who need native, Indonesian propagandist when we have russian tourist-investor..
As an indonesia, many of his praises are exaggerated, and he understate the incompetency of Indonesian government, especially local, provincial level..
There's reason why there's so many rules and prohibition in Singapore, probably because they don't want a crowded street, unruly foreigner, the breaking down of local life, unmanageable waste, overcrowding, and so on and so forth.

Max, the russian dude tried to remind you that housing monthly USD 5K in Bali IS a Villa.
Whilst on Spore is only a condo; a 50 sqm lego design, 15 - 30 m high, with artificial aeration, 35° C T with 85% Humidity. Plus artificial garden everywhere 😂
Yes but a condo has a lot of facilities. It’s much more comfortable, especially with small kids
My condo has better facilities than that villa. 100% I prefer to have hot tub, sauna, jacuzzi, tennis court and functions rooms over double the space 😅
5k USD can get 2-3 room condo depending on area in sg. Range from 80-120m2 with full facilities like pool gym. Villa is more private and serene. That's why many Singaporean go holiday in bali to escape concrete city.
Don't forget the facilities in condo are shared with many many people, sometime it's full/booked.
Meanwhile I'm living in Vasa, Finland, in 3 stor, 300sqm wooden log house with sauna, workshop, triple car garage, with some land and it only cost me 99,000 euros... hmm

Canggu was a village , its still is, except for construction of villas and restaurants.
The road remains the same
Very great video, love the perspective and the knowledge.
I am an Indonesian live in Singapore. Bali is my retirement home.
Thanks for the insight Alex!

With all due respect: everything he listed at 26:10, Thailand has.
I really like Indonesian people, would totally live there, but I think there's a lot of issues around being taken advantage of by local people there. Not everyone, but it's enough to really impact how you will feel living there day to day. But, comparing it to Malaysia, I definitely think Indonesian is a better place to live.
The word is used by local people, actually it's only for economic reasons bro, if only our Rupiah was better maybe many things would change
Don't befriend PPL who needs money
Don't move here. We don't need more pencuri/perampok lahan from the natives.
great developer, great insight. thankyou
Its a great interview,, I loved the conversation, but the prices are way blown up at the moment. You can't compare Bali with a market like Dubai, sorry, Bali relies only on tourism, Dubai has an economy.
According to Prabowo its going to be just like Hong Kong once the north bali airport has been built. So kiss goodbye to no buildings taller than a coconut palm. Its already started. There's a tower north of Bedugul that must be the height of at least 6 coconut palms. So 20 story hotels presumably won't be far behind. You can't allow it in one place and then deny it elsewhere.
Infrastruktur jadi problem ...tiap hari kendaraan bertambah semakin padat. .harus ada buat jalan baru atau pelebaran jalan khusus nya jalan protokol atau di buat kan MRT angkutan masal agar beralih ke moda transportasi umum
Jgn di Bali deh ... aku g setuju
Mending kendaraannya yg dibatasi, jgn jalannya yg digedein
Kalo transportasi publik spt MRT bagus 👍
Bahasa Its means Language so you have to say Bahasa Indonesia ( indonesian Language )
Ini yg sering orang asing salah mengartikan...bahasa artinya bahasa=language....jadi harus lengkap mengucapkan yaitu bahasa indonesia....seperti kemarin martin paes bilang BAHASA.....😊
Yes, they should stop saying bahasa when they refer to Indonesian.
I agree with your concern. But personally, I would prefer to say "Bahasa" referring to our national language. It sounds extremely unique. Moreover, when we say Bahasa, we are actually teaching our language to all non native speaker. So, I am proud of saying "Bahasa" 😊.
I was born and raised in Indonesia. Honestly i won't go back there to retired. I was a second class citizen because I am chinese by blood, but they love white people. On the other hand, people in Singapore are nicer to me since I look chinese. I guess racism is everywhere. Pick what's best for yourself
