Loved the "energy" of your video, Tim. "Universal" is the perfect description of the Senko and Senko-style worms. Kinda fun to experiment with them to see how many ways you can trick bass and what spots you can, actually, sail these into. I've always felt that, if they won't hit a Senko of some size/color, it's gonna be a tough day on the water. I loved to take-out 4 bags of different Senkos, 2 spinning-rods and use nothing else all day. Cuts-out the anxiety of what lure to fish next and makes you focus more. Old gunfighters used to say, "Beware of the man with only one gun." He knows how to use it. Senkos can be subbed into that mantra, as well. Love 'em!

Not just in USA. Im from South Africa and since i started fishing senkos i caught a ton of fish. My success rate improved 200%. On one competition i only took a bag of Gary 4" senkos and won. All fish caught on a wacky rig. Best bait ever made.

Great vid guys. I recently started using senkos about a year ago. I was made an instant believer of this lure. Within weeks of fishing it i stuck my Pb at 7 lbs 9 ounces which is a straight up giant here in southern pa. Especially for a pond bass. Thanks tons guys love all of your stuff. Keep up the great work. Tactical for life!!

Jiggs might also be one of the most versatile baits. It's done it's fair share of catching monsters and it's fished around the country as well. They come in many different weights and sizes. Great video topic.

Jigs are overall better for big bass, but not as versatile because they are heavier. You can fish a senko relatively slow near the top, but you can't do that with a jig (well, there's a couple jigs that are very light and sink really slow, and you can use a big buoyant trailer on a jig).

Agree if I could only fish two baits the rest ofy life it'd be a jig and a senko

    • @bassanglerxxx8444
      @bassanglerxxx8444 6 років тому +2

Jigs won't get you a lot of bites but will get you the bigger bites, the senko however can get you numbers and big ones as well, because the hook up ratio is so good all you have to do is lift up your rod tip(with any rod size)it sets the hook for you and there is no weight for them to throw the hook so they stay hooked,a jig has to be jammed into the fish's mouth every single time and you cannot use light line on a jig but on a senko you can use any anywhere from 6 to 14lbs test....jigs require such a hard hookset and the weed guard don't help......you can fish a senko on a jig as a trailer and it works great!!!

I agree the senko is a must to have in the tackle box. The pond I fish here in North Carolina I have never had a good day bass fishing til the other day when I pitched a green pumpkin weightless senko out around grass beds and hanging trees. Lost two nice fish, caught three squeaks, and one 5. Best day bass fishing I’ve had with a senko. Gonna be using it a lot more this spring and summer.

Wacky Rigging on a Senkos Style Stick Bait got my wife and I into Successful Recreational Bass Fishing when we bought a Lake Cabin. We past on what we learned to other friends and they are now catching Bass too.
I’m not particularly crazy about Gary Yamamoto Senkos I think they are over priced, over hyped, & last in durability.
I have bought Strike King, Yum, Big Bite, Kaylin, & Store Brand Senkos Personally I think best bang for the buck is Yum & Big Bite. They hold up better & take a beating. Also, color for color brand for brand, I don’t think any brand catches more fish over any other brand.
If I miss a hook set I don’t complain and say I should have used another brand because I missed that hood set.
Thanks for your videos. I always learn something. You Guy’s are the best.

Started throwing magnum baits 10 inch senko at my club I fish at. Because the main forage is large bluegill and trout, these magnum bait worms are amazing! They also make a 6.25 inch creature bait that helps me weed through the 3 pounders, and find the slobs!

It's definitely tough to beat a Senko. It's easy to rig, easy to fish, super versatile and you can put them just about anywhere. IMO a great beginner bait as well - most of the time the fish have it before it even hits the bottom. The only drawback is how many packs you can go through when the bite is on! Great video guys!

An absolute winner I throw it more than anything else right now and I’m catching more fish. I agree with the most universal bait 👍 I have been using the screw lock hook and it lasts quite a few casts, also straight shank and offset hook with a O ring

Wow. That question spurred so many comments! Great info and love your videos. Love senkos styles. My favorite technique is weightless Texas rig or wacky. I always have one rigged in the boat. 4"-7". I would never argue the most versatile or debate as I love so many baits and techniques. I also use these techniques on kietech fats, fries, but love jerkbaits, carolina rigs, top waters, spinner, Hope you all the best, again thanks for the great info! Fish in MO.

I actually contend that the good old fashioned 7" power worm is at the very least tied for the honor. Both are more versatile than a jig, but I can't think of a scenario or a technique in which one would be better than the other. If you want a wild weightless ride Texas Rig a Power Worm with a heavier 3/0 hook like a VMC worm hook so it falls nose first. It'll go bass for bass with a senko all day!

  • @sunwukongmonkeyking5561

Jig and Senko are both versatile but Senko has a better profile in many places so yes Senko may be the most versatile bait. I caught my PB on a wacky rig senko. Throw a wacky rig senko in 1-15ft water and that slow fall can attract bass from far away.

Great video Tim. IMO for an intermediate to advance angler, definitely the senko because you can work it. BUT for a less skilled angler, a silver spinner would be hard to beat. Something like a BlueFox spinner. Just cast and retrieve, easy to do. And can be very successful in creeks, rivers, lakes, deltas. And a variety of fish will hit it. No doubt, a very universal bait. I always keep one in my box

    • @mikelepori707

Hi Charles, I wanted to comment to your post, I have fished with a lot of anglers that have never caught bass and couldn't cast well at all and I had them just throw a senko out and dead stick it and they caught the heck out of them. I see where you are going with working it and I do agree because you can get different action and using nail weights can really alter the way it falls which can be deadly but as far as unskilled anglers I feel it doesn't get any easier that dead sticking a senko. Just my opinion, not trying to stir the pot by any means.

Great video as usual! Been reading some of the posts below and one person mentioned baits close to senkos. When I lived in Florida I ran out of the color that worked well and I had some tiki wave worms that were similar in color and they slammed them. I really didn't notice a difference of which was better at that time. Tiki worms lasted a lot longer and I could catch multiple fish before having to change. I cant seem to find them much anymore unfortunately and if I do the color selection is poor. That is the only other worm that seemed to work as well as the senko. I fished them weightless texas rigged exclusively and worked everywhere I fished out there. I think the sink rate was a little slower but never affected the bite that I noticed. Anyone else had any similar luck with them?

  • @gregblake8810
    @gregblake8810 6 років тому

My idea, use a 6 or 7" senko weightless on a flipping hook with a bait holder. To do this you will cause a crook or link in the senko when Texas rigging it. You can skin hook or embed the hook point but do not penetrate the senko. The action when pulling or twitching is something else. This works at any depth. Been deadly for me. The senko totally elevated my fishing experience like no other bait.

My Walmart has usually stocked only four colors of senkos but three of thos were my favorites anyway, now we are up to seven or eight colors and only a couple of the yum dingers. Yes, Rig it Texas (weightless or weighted), Wacky, Neko, Drop-Shot. Catches fish. I've tried other similar plastics, but have had more success with Yamamoto. Colors - Black is always a go to and the Lavender Watermelon looks like a bluegill in clearer water.

Yep!. 4 bass in a row tonight. No weight. Just a 4/0 and a kalin. Blue and black. Same as a senco. Half the price. But ended up going through a whole bag tonight.

Without a doubt. More tournaments have been won on it. There have been guys out of the money that have comeback and cashed a check. I've won and stayed in the money quite a few times. When nothing else catches them the Senko will hands down no one can dispute that fact

Matt Allen, me and my buddy always use Senkos and Garry Yamamoto's are my numero uno go to. Caught myself a 3.5 fat bass off a weightless Texas rigged senko. So Yea hands down I'll turn to a Garry Yamamoto senko before anything else.

For bass? Senko absolutely most universal bait. Can use it in so many situations and so many ways. Always the fall back option if not the outright main option.

  • @coachlance1420

Well I believe so. I would've said a Jig however I can fish a senko topwater and also a few secret ways with a treble hook weedless that will slay fish anywhere in the world bass or otherwise. Keep up the great Vids guys great job.

Question off topic... I noticed other channels now have the option to sponsor the channel. I watch a lot of You Tubers and you guys are the only ones I'd be interested in doing that for. Are you going to be doing that at any time? Also I freaking love the senko

Well I just heard about it. Lunkers TV just posted something saying UA-cam has a new feature where you can sponsor his channel. When you go to his page right under the Subscribe button there is a sponsor button but I haven't seen that on anyone else's Channel

I have been using a senco style worm for years...I like the Wave brand when they had more colors... I have switched to Yum Dingers lately black blue and green pumpkin mostly... here in Central Florida its a great bait year round...I have caught bass from 8 inch to 8 lbs on them...for a more finesse rig I use a Zoom finesse or magnum finesse green pumpkin with green and purple flecks...I fish 10 plus times a week and very rarely get skunked...

Love the videos y’all have helped me so much with learning bass behavior and how to fish baits I’m not comfortable with and land bigger bass but the wacky tool is a bit of a waste, I just get a pack of orings from the hardware store I get 25 for 2 bucks and I can get clear orings, just gotta spit on it first 😂😂

You guys need to create "The Tactical Bassin" monthly bait box. Baits you are throwing that month and you guys can do video describing how to use them.
