Amazing Vid! A lot of "must eat in Chicago food" videos always showcase the same pizza, hotdog, italian beef, etc. You definitely showcased what the locals do eat! Props to exploring outside of the downtown as well.
that's ways my goal when I travel! some classics, but I really try and figure out what the locals do. thank you!
Thanks for the video planning a trip to Chicago in the spring.
it's so dope that all of these places let you into their kitchens to film!! makes for such awesome vids.
thank you!! i usually try as hard as i can to get into the kitchen just for that reason
Pizzeria Unos (deep dish), Pequod's (pan), Pat's Pizza (tavern), Pizza Pot Pie (The Grinder), Pizza Puff (Terrie's), Detroit Style (Union Squared)
Great video! Make more in Chicago plz. You are a great food reviewer. Love the enthusiasm.
U get points for knowing what a paratha is (better than naan lol)
@@internetajay thank you!! hopefully I'll be back soon
Different than other Chicago foods videos, but all look good. Excellent descriptions and showing the oven at the pita place sold me on it.
thank you!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Heading to Chicago next month and adding these places to my list. Thanks ☺️.
love it!
Yes tons of great places on here plus tons more
This is the first time I’ve seen someone recommend a deep dish that wasn’t Lou Malnati’s or Giordanos!
i try and not just do what everyone else does. I dont think thats helpful honestly!
Pequods is my shit
Might try Pequod’s over Gio’s next weekend I’m there I might be back to leave a review/comparison after
Or Gino’s East
Too bad not pizza most Chicagoans eat, but get deep dish is touristy thing/something try when visit. The best truly local foods are all farther away from the lakefront. (And top Chicago hot dog and Italian beef places in near west suburbs). At least showed variety of options which was great
Good video, very different take on the best Chicago foods. That breakfast sandwich has me daydream about it.
thank you!! i tried to not just do the obvious stuff. the Chicago food scene is so much more!
@@BrunchBoys
There is a Korean street food spot in Chinatown that is insane. Bonchon is the name, it's unreal.
@@markg5916 yes that's saved! I need to get there
I'm so glad you went with Pequod's.
The 3 Pound Chorizo Burrito at Martinez Supermarket is so good!!
We moved from the Chicagoland area 29 years ago. We still miss the FOOD!
its so good!
@@BrunchBoys- Yes it is!
Moved to NYC. And yes, the food is a great miss. Pequod's was a mainstay when I lived there.
JJ taking Chicago to the next level...
thanks!
Ginos East is another great place not mentioned, their deep dish pizza is so friggin good!
thanks!
Try the caviar I fused lobster at Chuck's fushion cafe
Can you tell me what lens and camera you use? I really like the colours
thanks! it's a canon r5 with the 15-35rf
Breaded steak sandwich should be on here
No way!! I have a video coming up in the future, where I attempt to outdo this VERY pizza! haha
Oh fuck yea
thanks!!
I'm surprised Harold's didn't make it on here, or an Italian sandwich from Mr Beef
Locals eat tavern style thin crust pizza
YES!
Best burger I've had is Au Cheval. Best cheeseburger by far.
Sadly it seems little meatball and mini Mott’s is no longer?? Can you confirm that??
The two ones I wanted to try are permanently closed now 😖
If heading for Pequads, you wanna' good pizza….go to Malnatti’s….much better . Pequads I’d too "bready"
Good choices. Very enjoyable. Note: Bernie's is closed. Boo.
ah damn! yeah i need an update video
@@BrunchBoys where ya based out of?
@@vicbanks9079 NYC!
@@BrunchBoys oy vey.
Kasama has Michelin Star
FYI, Bernie's is no longer open.
oh man!
Thick crust pizzas can be used as bullet-proof shields. Needed now in Chicago.
I've had Pequod's pizza. It's good. No it's really good. However I believe Lou Malnati has 'em beat. Their deep dish is second to none. My opinion only. Not sorry at all. Y'all try both and then decide. Enjoy!
Most Chicagoans rarely eat deep dish. That's much more of a tourist thing. Thin crust, tavern cut is standard Chicago pizza.
pequods is pan pizza not deep dish
So from all of these places I could find only one... 2 of them closed (dont know why) and the rest either the name is wrong or cannot seem to find them in google maps :(
Just gained 5 pounds…gee thanks
lol
"LISTEN DARKER PEOPLE I CONTRAST FOR TEXTURES!!!" Sheeiiiiiiiit
its funny all these food critics wannabes always are on the north lol i guess their scared to try the burbs on the southside or westside.
Where's little village?! Basically what to eat in LP
"Chicago" Foods....or Foods in Chicago?
Lou Malnati's is the BEST Chicago deep dish. Pequods is overrated, and. I'm an Italian American Chicago native .Everything else that you reviewed is womdeful.
You lost me at Pequods, no local actual goes there, It’s all tourists. The battle is between Giordanos and Lou’s.
Nah "deep dish" is what we go out for if we have people from out of town! Tavern style is the true "Chicago" pizza, thin, CRISP and cut in to squares! Not the droopy, limp triangle you get in other parts of the country! But I do agree Lou's or Giordanos is much better than Pequods or Uno's as both are as you say a place for tourists.
Frontier - wear gloves!
for food videos we ask chefs not to wear gloves. it's very off putting on camera
next thing you know you screaming for barnie sandors hahahhahahaha HELLLLP HELLLLPPPPPPPP
Ridiculous!!! I personally HATE tall and thick messy sandwiches I can't take a bite... it is an ugly mess. Also dude, please let your phone down while you are eating.
Lou Malnati’s pizza is trash tourist pizza. Pequod’s, Labriola. Those are the best.
Use promo code Jeremy to save 10% on your next 8 ball. Lol
Too much Chicken on that sandwich. One piece is enough. Nasty pepperoncini. Looks like a bad choice.
I hate when they don’t wear gloves
What the heck? Okay I understand you're not a local and go with all the glitz. No Italian Beef place on the list? No Chicago Hot Dogs? NO Polish??? DEEP DISH???? Yeah you bought in to the tourist BS, here's a hint, for beef or a good dog or polish sausage, DON'T go to Portillo's, try a place like Tony's Italian Beef. Oh and Deep Dish/Chicago Style Pizza is what we have when we have people here from out of town. The REAL Chicago pizza is Tavern style! Thin, CRISP and cut in to squares, not the droopy, limp triangles you get in other parts of the country!
I liked it because he showed something else besides those things. We got plenty of good things to eat in the city that isn’t pizza.
Pequods is over rated!
yeah right go to some empty place to eat chicken and gett robbed SHEEEEIIIIITTTTT
huh
