Issues with balls, shaft length, angles of dangle along with being able to do things that you couldn't do before and swinging, one could get the wrong idea about this vlog! 😁
Like you I just have 1 Tractor but many implements. I have amassed a variety of Top Links for each one - all labelled. Makes hooking up so much simpler. Might be worth painting the rusty bits!
i used to use one of these a couple of years ago, we found the clips that held the legs up didn’t last to long as my boss found out and the leg dropped and bent , i replaced with two bolts and locking nuts
Very surprised mower not supplied with a wide angle pto, both of the ones of the very same model we run came with them on and the other manufacturers (krm and standen) also had wide angles on. We do a lot of road work, run a 30 mile radius, watch the headstock the side the mower pivots on they are prone to cracking under the radius, been the same on all manufacturers machines
I understand your nervous care of the new loaner piece. It's always a bit tense not wanting to hurt or destroy what isn't yours. Check, double check and still wonder. Anxious to see it chew.
biskit is so sassy and cute it wouldn't be a farmer p video without biskit where is crumble these days does she stay inside and keep the mother-in-law company Another ther great video has always farmer p ian and Mrs p Sam emma Abbi and holli and miss biskit miss crumble miss gypsy miss pepper and miss pickle miss Muppet 👍
Good evening Mr. P. well that all went together rather smoothly I'm sure you have had a glance at the instructions. Looking forward to how it performs. Definitely think it's better to have a long shaft over cutting a bit. Keep well and stay safe.
Good evening Ian.. that does look a nice handy topper... 👌 keep an eye on the lift and the cross shaft as iv seen plenty getting twisted with wide heavy equipment when the lift arms are not in the slot position. One corner goes up the other go nope and the lift goes aww fuke it.... and twists. ... but can't wait to see it in action and betting the hedge gets a trim to 😁. Stay safe 🏴
A nice looking machine, the dealers got the blades on right way round, the first flail I sa at college had a shear bar across it like a cylinder mower bottom blade it was a very fine cut ,we knew those lynch pins at college as Jesus pins for obvious reasons ,
Looks a really well built bit of kit that Ian, very versatile. If you have an accumulator on your front linkage, I'd imagine she'd ride a lot nicer with a weight, even doing your bale carting duties on the longer draws!
Nice to see it on😁 I think you’ll be well happy with it when you get used to it. Couple of hundred kilos would do you on the linkage. I’ve about 500kg on the front which made a good difference, just fill an oil drum with concrete 😁
The 1st pin you took out is to do with the breakaway I think, also you should lock the N/S link arm as that is taking load off when you swing the topper out, that’s why it tilts. The O/S arm has the weight on all the time.
how often do you use a front weight ian ? could be cheaper to make a concrete one up ,quick wooden mould and a A frame set into it, we had a couple like that, also made a rear one for the loader .
nice to see the farmer p i just knows it . who needs to read the manual. it is nice to see the sales man knew farmer p tractor. every think fits right . i think farmer p can make a own front weight. a bar of steel that fits in his front hitch and some concrete . how many bals has the farmer in his tractor. 2 or 3 sets
Seems actor Martin Clunes is a fan of Dexters and their meat just saw an interview with DJ Mike Read where he says he's sold some but still has 5 including an old bull with cracking/delaminating horns is this an age, diet/vitamin, conditions problem. Could the topper be used as a hedge trimmer or is it overkill and hard to control.
looks like a well made machine......no good for me though on my really steep land .....need a machine in close to the tractor on steep fields. are they designed for cutting gorse
Well may you ware Ian. There is one thing that has me uneasy. Try to get into the habit of always having the top link with the tractor. You were lucky that you forgot the top link within walking distance. If you were to pick up an implement ten miles away and discovered no top link when you put your hand out for it, At least half you day is lost. (it happened to me )
It surprised me did that Ian I thought you would have had a shed outside to keep your overalls and boots in and a change of footwear to walk into the house in
Ian ... Again.... Highlighting the differences between his tractor and an Elephant 🐘! The Elephant, Ian, has high Bollocks and your tractor has hydraulics! 🤔🤭 Not to be confused? 🤔🙂
nice topper very good video 👍❤😊
hello from the Netherlands .
thanks for the video Ian .
Sincerely Hollandduck
Another very interesting video Thank you
If you left your fluffy pall at home when you went out someone would go in the huff. That's some cracking bit of kit
A very good Monday evening to you all
Handy looking machine. Would work good around here in Nebraska

Great update - looks like a great investment!
Nice and shiny (not for long).👍

Keep up the good vlogs
Linkage ball u could always use cable tyres to hold the right size to gether
Pro forge do some really nice front weight boxes Ian and at a reasonable price to fully customisable as well 👍🏻

The front linkage does indeed have dampening. I’m looking for a 600 kg front weight. 🙂👍🏼
If you're keeping the case that be a great reason to get yourself a hydraulic top link 🤔 be interested to seeing the new machine in action 🙄👍
😀
It's got a whole lot more range of motion than the other one did

I do like keeping my shaft full length if I can
🙂
You need to keep sway bar tight you do not want that machine swaying side to side I learnt the hard way, yes you did right to lock the arms float

I like your hook type arms…way faster….
Ian, if you need a front weight take a look at Agri-Linc they are lincolnshire based but deliver nationwide 400kg £755 700kg £815
👍🙂
