- Its only a little two acre paddock, But the topper is on and it could do with a tidy up. I managed to get it sussed out before I completed the field... Just. We will give it a proper test later in the year.

😂😂😂
Love the way Biscuit’s fast asleep .
To me that a. Great job with that mate
Well done Ian, looks a great job. Every day is a school day 😹😹😹
Sheep are very good to do that job this time of year der many a man would be glad of it
It’s a tiny paddock Kieran, ok for a few rams, but no shelter or water.
@@FarmerPit be a lot better than the side of a mountain and a lot easier on fuel than a tractor lol 😝
Best of luck with the new kit 👍👍👍
A very good Tuesday evening to you all
I assume this will be a handy hedge trimmer also.
Loved the camera aspect at the rear of the topper that’s a lot of trust in the mounting kit! I hope mrs p is getting stronger can’t wait to hear she’s home all the very best farmer p
Got some great camera angles Mr P
Good job yes did a little bit of chain harrowing last weekend
Always best to learn by doing then by reading. Live by the phrase "Practice makes Perfect" 😎. Who needs de-structions 😅😁. Certainly a wonderful upgrade, can't wait to see how it tackles ditches & the rough hedgerow undergrowth (at least one can get in a bit tighter easier without hitting the tractor into fences & water pipes 🤓😏) 💖💖👍👍👍👍.
Nice job mr. P. 👍👍👍👍
great video nice job 👍❤😊
That Maschio is a fine choice of flail/topper! Quite impressed with their "smart iron" implements.
Tidy bit of kit just wondering if some of your spare pins control your head float we had similar on a topper at work would only let it drop a few inches if pinned in
Hi I was not topping grass but I was mowing lawns on valentines day
I bet it feels good to be back on the tractor
Fine looking machine Ian doing a good job but the tractor wheel is still on the uncut grass, Can the mower not be moved over more by adjusting the check chains on tractor to put mower out a bit further to eliminate that wheel issue?
Good to see the fieldwork! :D
Cracking video. Good job all told
Amazing to see you do that in February. Our fields are still covered in snow !
Well, the shiny orange thing worked well, and the learning curve can be seen but that's no harm and no dig ins.
put a warning sign on that finger snapper- that had me in stitches
Evening farmer p mum p abbi holli emma sam bisskit and ur other dogs
Great vlog again
How was mum p when u had the day with her on wednesday i hope she enjoyed it and i hope u bought mum p a nice valentines pressy like flower or chocolates etc?
Love u guys💙❤️💜
Love Biscuits infuseasm 😄💤
ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING VIDEO Thank you
Good work farmer P
hello from the Netherlands .
thanks for the video Ian .
Sincerely Hollandduck
Very tidy - looks great!
I have been waiting with interest to see how you would get on with the new topper, seems to have done a "topping job" ,I may consider one in the future, thanks Ian
Is that the instruction book in the white tube on top of the machine?
Evening ian, great content as usual cheers 😄
Good job
I believe the head tilt cylinder has a check valve on it, meaning even with the tractor in float the cylinder can’t move. In the same way as when a hose was to burst the cylinder won’t move.
I didn’t tip any grass on Valentine’s Day but I did push snow
Great video! How many cameras do you have to take these wonderful shots?
Morning Mr P and Biskit x it looked good by the time you finished 👍👍 and as a non-farmer can I ask you what's the PTO? That's if I am saying it correctly 🤣x
11:04 great content again
I think there a check vale on the flail so float won't work.
😀
Tidy job
Topping in February? Can't even see the land here yet due to thick snow and even if we could, it's frozen solid for at least another 2 months! 🤔😉 Practice makes perfect Ian!
Good evening Mr. P. well that looks like it went as planned a few more fields and your be able to do it with your eyes closed. Nobody likes a droopy head. Keep well and stay safe.
Comment for engagement
Another ther great video has always farmer p ian and Mrs p Sam emma Abbi and holli and miss biskit miss crumble miss gypsy miss pepper and miss pickle miss Muppet 👍
Try it out then if any issues RTFM .🤣 stay safe 🏴
Now you know why we called them Jesus pins
🤔😁😁😁
Would be an interesting game of cricket but it does look neat for a hay/grazing field.
Karen Moynihan from Kerry she was topping last week. (check her out, she is only starting out)
The difference was she grazed the field first
That's another channel I might be spending too much time on. Well worth a look.
🙏
👍👍
👍
Can you not push the back end out to the side (the arms) to get you past the wheels?
Yours,
Chris.
Hi Mr P
think you should of went a lot bigger than 2.1m, we run a 2.6 different make on a 70hp tractor and runs it just fine and no need for front weight either, it looks like you were only cutting about 4ft at any one time with this. yes it can side up a hedge but only if its right next to the field as it looks to have very limited swing out past the tractor, i think you would of been better keeping what you had as you have a hedge cutter for doing banks and hedges
LMBO and you know why. Twice! Don't ya just love those little rotten buggars? Greeting to Mrs. P and wishing for a speedy recovery.
Maybe it's what im used to with the normal mower, but you could also lift the head up with the hydraulics instead of the linkage? Well if it were to droop that is..
You could, but I recon the gearbox shields would cut a furrow.
@@FarmerP that might be a thing, it's hard to judge that by looking at my screen 😆. But.. im still in doubt about doin some topping.. grass was a bit too long going in to the winter, some places it lays dow and turned a bit yellow. But im not sure if the ground is firm enough around here.. and if it helps growth if i cut at all.. 🤔
I was warning you about that clip through the UA-cam Time Machine, but to no avail.
Was that max offset where you had it, or is it an all or nothing setting?
That was the max offset Bob.
What PTO Speed you using ? I run almost everything on my New Holland T5 110 in 540 eco, saves on the Diesel especially as I have to run White Diesel on Amenity work 😁
Standard 540 on the flail Pete, it’s a power hungry machine.
👍🙂
😁
🇨🇦
👀🙄🐾👍 Squire Pullen won't your little bro feel aggrieved that your depriving his MTs of feed?
🥦
i think that lynch gonna be like arkwrights til bless ya they hurt
Are you in some kind of stewardship scheme to be topping that? Looked a bit greener before and it’s not even spring yet so don’t be surprised if everywhere hasn’t greened up yet, get some muck on and that would’ve been good enough, saves diesel anyway, nevertheless great content 👍
🚜😃👍🏻
Looking to be doing a tidy job 🙄 but just can't get my head round why the hell it's so far out the back 🤔💪
no DID not topp of the gras,
was spedding sand to prevent falling 🤸♀️on the 🤬 ice outside my door. stay safe take care.
Thats a tidy machine Ian and dont be so hard on yourself. A new machine takes a bit of getting used to and the lines dont show that much.
Looks like that’s going to be just the thing you needed there, the MXU did just fine didn’t it MrP
cricket .... we will bowl first !!🤣
a lot of thinks the farmer has to think about. but he gets it when he works with it. beter was he read the manual first..
Why are you toping the field when you are tight in feed would you not have let out your small stock to graze it first
The ground isn’t stock proof Brendon, plus it gets wet very quickly, even though there is no water supply out there.
Why would you be topping a field before you graze it with your animals can't get my head around that one Mr p
We don’t graze that ground Christy, it’s not secure, has no water or shelter and gets very wet, very quick. It’s 1.7 acres of land detached from the main holding. All we ever do is cut hay of if it.
your land is so dry isnt it
🤣 No one likes a droopy head🤦♂. It can be a bit like patting your head and rubbing your belly at times especially trying to cut round obstacles in paddocks/fields 🤦♂
So other than to play Cricket 😂 why would you top a field?
Biscuit proved that topping is a hard job.
Looks like that’s going to be just the thing you needed there, the MXU did just fine didn’t it MrP
