I struggle with a similar situation, but I think when there are thoughts of "I need", it creates stress, and closes the mind. Instead if the thoughts are grateful, of "I'm glad I have ______", then the mind starts to function differently. Maybe if you invested the money into a better lunch, then you can eat with your coworkers, then maybe you can be friends with one, and have another option for saturdays, etc... it's just an example.

I find your videos informative and inspirational.

    Your transparency is amazing man.
There are a lot of people in the comments telling you what they think you should do.
I personally, understand the need to gamble, it's hope that you might break out of the monotony you're stuck in.
Personally, I resort to one purchase of lottery tickets per week, it keeps the hope of a big win in my back pocket. The tickets in total cost $5 or 780 yen.
I used to work at gas stations and liquor stores in college. I've seen numerous people spend half of their income or more on scratcher tickets hoping to win big. Strangely enough, there was always a person at each store I worked at (3 total) who had enough luck to win all of the tickets they bought, almost every time they bought them, but most people never won anything.
Good luck out there I hope whatever you decide to do brings you great fortune.

Gambling wide open would make your financial situation worse but what you were doing I don't think it's going to be super detrimental to your overall finances. I'm not sure how having a side hustle or business from home works where you live but you could find something with low initial cost up front and try to craft or something and maybe that would help in some way. Hang in there and keep on going no matter what. You only truly lose if you give up!

Interesting insight! I never knew horse racing was a thing in Japan.
Also interesting to see you get Pokemon cards!
Is it possible for you to buy stocks in Japan?
In America it's easy these days, you can do it on apps on your phone I'm sure Japan has something similar.
Stocks are a safer way to gamble your money in my opinion, plus you'd be contributing towards your economy.
You've said the Japanese economy is struggling right now, I bet it would be a pretty good time to buy while things are low.
Start with just a little bit and see how it goes :) Even if it goes low, it's still not as bad as throwing your money away on scratch offs.
    Stay healthy and hydrated! :)

I love your videos and have been watching you for a long time, but please don't gamble too much. You wont win, but you can use the money to help support your family or save it

LOL - The Pokemon card part was hilarious, especially after earlier losses on scratchies and horse betting... LOL
I laughed so hard at his reaction to the cards I had tears in my eyes. That was gold. I loved this episode I will watch it again and again.

I used to go to the horse races a lot for a year or two as the track was just down the street. It was fun. The smell of the hot dogs and cigars in the air, the excitement of all the lineups. But I never won much. My dad would give me money to play the horses, and he would stay home. He was always lucky. He just was, and I would bring him back a fist full of money. He always played one horse to win, and that's all. My father won at poker, too. Anything to do with money. I went to the greyhound races for awhile, too, but they were not as much fun. I haven't placed a bet on anything in many years. I've never known anyone who "hit it big" with gambling. Do you have horse races in your area?

Off topic: can you make a small video how the japanese keyboard on pc and phone works? It's a little confusing with all the hiragana, katakana and kanji

Remember: You are the one in control of your environment. Help your wife find a job. There is no such thing as a shameful job, even cleaning toilets or working in McDonalds.
She can find something part time and take care of the time during the rest.
Communication is key. Speak to her and get control* of your environment.

I once won a very large sum on horse racing 10years ago. But never won the same ever since. So never say it never happens, because I did win.

The only “gambling” Japanese men should be doing is investing in index funds.

Can you tell us whats your net profit on gambling?

  • @berocks2
    @berocks2 22 дні тому +1

Of course people say don't gamble, but you see life is a gambling game when making choices (going to a school, choose a career, a spouse, decide to have kid or not, invest in stocks, real estate, cryptocurrency etc). The key is to keep the spice of life with a little bit of change, turbulence and hope. When you grow up, you need those to keep the passion of life, it's called addiction or "new habits".

Instead of putting your money into gambling cards,
try putting that money towards paying off your debts faster.
    Especially your mortgage.
Also use the money to building some emergency savings
in case you lose your job.

I went to Japan to live and work in my 20s back in the 1990s. I'm Japanese American, but I guess I look like a chump or something because whenever I went into a Pachinko parlor for the first time, I would win big. Often 100,000 yen or more. But I never went back to the same place. I think they try to hook new people with a big win and I looked like the type that would get easily hooked. But the joke was on them. I never lost because I always quit while I'm ahead and never chased the next win at the same place. This isn't intended to be advice, by the way. I'm just saying what happened.
