I’m in Nigeria now Lagos! This happen to me at the airport coming in the country at the airport. Also today on Irawo ikurodu road held my vehicle registration paperwork and American divers license until get got the bribe he wanted! Even got in the back of my vehicle and was trying to get me to drive to a police station in ikeja when I refused! It really makes Nigeria look bad and unprofessional! Foreigners or tourist aren’t safe from this either they even want more from us! It was a horrible experience! If you’re looking to relocate or invest in Africa from the diaspora I’m sorry but Nigeria shouldn’t be considered!

Those two were just unlucky, now they have to face denial of not being real police personnel hence attributing the reason for their misconduct to the fact that they were just 'constables'. What a funny thing to say. Maybe that should be the new Name for Corrupt Nigerian police officers because we have a lot of 'CONSTABLES' along the Aba-Portharcourt express road and something has to be done about it.

Is the Police PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi saying that if these two were ‘bonified’ policemen and not constabularies (supervised by the Nigeria Police), they would have not ask for money? Then he moves to say he has received more than 100 complaints from the public on the conduct of policemen in one morning alone.
Policemen extorting money from motorists on our roads has been with us for years and not every Nigerian has access to a camera or can boldly record police men asking for money. Unfortunately, the sacking of these two policemen does not deal with the root causes.

First things first: I am grateful to the good Nigerian Police for all the help in society. However, dismissing two men and making a mountain out of it is nothing near to finding a solution to the problems of the NPF. I feel if we go by dismissing every police man or woman asking for money on our roads or at the police stations, then the Nigerian nation by now will be without any police man or woman. The country as a whole must desire this attitudinal change and root it out together. We can!

One officer told her that her international driving license is not valid…duh
The second one is when the officer took her camera…
I hope that these two will hear from theirs respective governments.
In one episode where her motorcycle fell into the river…t thought all of her belongings and the motorcycle were gone as the people who supposedly helped her would take all…however everything was ok…hats off to those people who helped her.

I am German and have seen the full travel video of the Dutch tourist.
It looked like the Policeman asked her with a portion of irony and being funny, he even laughed, and she also took it like fun (at least it was my impression). Then he let her go instantly... But it did not look like black mailing ! In my opinion very hard decision . BUT however IN GENERAL , this is also a great reaction of the responsibles to show publicly that they FINALLY care for tourists and safety. And that is not just because of Nigeria alone but mainly due to orders THANK D.J.T. .and the PRESIDENT of Nigeria !!!!!
Over all, I miss that in Germany ! This should be shown all over the world !

I did not appreciate the attitude of the two police officers, but it also seemed like a joke to me. However, I find this charade disgraceful. This dismissal is a mockery and does not honor Nigerian justice. Have you investigated and interrogated the two police officers, or did you punish them based on social media and the viral video? I see many Europeans happy about the dismissal of these two individuals, but in my opinion, in your countries, they would have received at most a warning letter, perhaps a suspension, or a transfer to another assignment. A shameful parody of justice!
