Digital calipers made life so much easier. Especially when the directions call for small and large ID washers, w/o calipers it would be a pain to do by eye. And the digital pitch gauges, absolute game changers.
Digital caliber is a must as well as a digital pitch gauge! I knew I was forgetting something in this video. Lol definitely need a digital pitch gauge!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 to be fair some Helis like the omps don’t necessarily need a pitch gauge. And I wanted to ask, I’m looking for a heli in between like my m2 and 420. Is the blade 360 any good? Kind of been eyein that one
Using a pitch gauge is great on all helis, you can use one on the M2 but not need on small helis as you can measure the distance from tip to tip. The Blade fusion 360 is great. I would recommend the Goosky RS4 as well! Fantastic Heli!
@@ChristopherMontaldo me too! I started 20ish years ago with helis and there was no help for new guys coming into the hobby. That’s my whole goal with the channel. Makes videos that help new and seasoned pilots. We can never learn or know everything and it’s always good to learn new things or have a channel for everyone.
After years and years of racing rc cars I so many tools and quite a few odd-ball tools as well. Even my little OMP M1 came with an odd-ball 1mm hex driver lol.
Amazing video, thanks! One question - what is that cone-looking tool above the drivers in the opening shot of the video? It wasn't described, but it looks like it would be very helpful to remove some of the super-tiny bearings we encounter in this hobby....?
@@westhobbiesrc8051 In the first 2 seconds of the video when you're saying "what's going on" there is a metallic cone looking tool right above the MIP quick attach drivers.
The electric DeWalt is not for the beginners. It's very easy to overtighten a screw with it, and break the head uff, or strip th threads, or the hex.... Better of hand tighten everything, to get a feel for how much to tighten everything on your heli, and not breaking a bunch of screws in aluminium parts. It is costly to replace.
There is an adjustable chuck, which would make it almost impossible to snap or strip a screw. I never said beginners need it I just said it is a tool you should consider. You set the chuck loss and finish tightening by hand.

You can never have enough tools. You always need more 😁
No, you cannot! I have tool boxes full lol
You missed pitch gauge, every heli owner needs a pitch gauge. Great video
Yes I did! Thank you, I knew I was forgetting something!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 no problem I wished i had videos like this 13 years ago when I started this hobby

I’ve got so many tools. It’s insane! Lol I’ve got snap on boxes full! I mean full. And that’s just my RC tools lol let alone my actual tools.
Another quality informational video outstanding, Jeff.
Thank you Tony! I’m glad your found the video helpful!

Thank you! I’m glad the video is helpful. Are you talking about the Dremel? Or the ball link tool? What color is it?

What’s a good pitch gauge?
I use a $20 pitch gauge off Amazon. They work great and very accurate.
