Best video I’ve seen on this topic, really clear explanation of issue, how to do the drills and why. Thanks heaps. I hardly ever comment but it was so well done, concise and helpful

I'm helping my stud of a 9 year old son to stop dropping his back shoulder and this video is exactly what I was looking for. Great balance of verbal explanation and drills to help correct. Thank you!

These are some good drills to get me started on a few of my kids that keep dropping their shoulders.

I noticed any edit when you actually hit the ball when you were on your knees. I’m thinking you did about 15 takes to get it right. Not a good drill if you need that many tries to get it right as a coach.

It looked more like a transition between when he stopped explaining the drill, to when he actually performed the drill.

15 takes? Where do you see 15 takes?

The swing you demonstrate at 5:24 on how NOT to do it looks like that Teacherman-style of swing, right? I've been checking out a lot of Teacherman stuff lately and I see some good concepts in what he teaches, but it obviously clashes with a lot of what you demonstrate in this video -he teaches more of that vertical uppercutty swing that looks more like what some call the Ferris Wheel. To be clear, I subscribe more to your style of swing myself, more of a tilted horizontal-upward swing than just snapping the wrists from way back and tilting your shoulder back as you uppercut the ball with a vertical swing, But what are your thoughts on all that Teacherman stuff? Thanks.

Good questions/comments that I'm wondering about too.

I've watched a lot of teacherman. I don't agree with 100% of what he says, but I don't really see the conflict of ideas in this video. The guy in this video is swinging with a slight upward angle, just as teacherman does, and just as many of the best hitters do. You can see it when he talks about how our front shoulder is lower than our back shoulder at contact. That creates a slight vertical launch angle, which is absolutely fine.
