I'm not usually the one to comment shit on people's videos but I just wanted to say that a currycomb is used in circular motions to get rid of unwanted lose hair and dirt and when you pick out a horses hoofs you don't pick it toward you you pick it the other way and you put the saddle on way to close the horses withers😊
Everyone has their own way if doing this. I sometimes don't use my curry in circleur motions and I sometimes pick the hoof the wrong way. So no one does it perfectly. The saddle isn't to close to the withers
Alana Amodio you are problem with the horse community. Keep your comments to yourself because you sound like a complete idiot .Everyone has their own style. Grow up
NEVER tighten the back cinch BEFORE the front cinch, If the horse were to jump suddenly and the front is still loose, that saddle could slip around and there is a biog wreck. FRONT CINCH FIRST
I was taught to ALWAYS do the front cinch first because if the horses spooked when you only have the back cinch done you horse can get the saddle under them or on their butt which can make things much much worse
I'm no expert and only been riding for 4 months, but I know enough to tell you that you shouldn't pick towards you. It should always be away from you just like with any other sharp object. If your hand were to slip or something, then it could possibly harm your horse or yourself. Also, it's not a big deal, but curry combs/brushes should be used in a circular motion to help loosen dirt. Another thing, tighten the front cinch not too tightly as you said, "I allow them to breath before I tighten it 'too too tight" and never do the back cinch first incase your horse does get spooked. Your horse is beautiful and I'm sure you don't mean to do these things. However, if you did these things right, it would be less of a danger to you and your horse.😊
Ok... if any of you are just gonna hate on her. Why are you here? She is teaching you how to saddle a horse. If you already know how to do that. Why are you here? Because the haters i see say "your doing this wrong" and she is GIVING A TUTORIAL and she is helping people that need help and if your on here you obviously dont know how to saddle a horse if your hating and telling her what to do.
Emma Williams, Yes I LOVE my barrel saddle..Bob Marshall makes a really great treeless saddle! It's nice and light and very comfortable and I love that I can feel everything my horses are doing underneath me:) No, I added the conchos to my saddle because I collect some of the old pinup style ones and of course, I love to add a little extra bling :)
Thank you so much this help me a lot. I was just wondering if you could do a video on how to canter cause I've only just learnt how to canter so if you could do that it would be great thnx. Kind regards Mackenzie
@Piper Ketchum No, she wasn't. It really don't matter how the hoof pick is used. As long as you don't pick the frog, your good. The curry comb is used in circlur motions but I don't always do that.
I have a question..... I LOVE your barrel saddle. did you add the conchos yourself or did it come like that? I would love to have a treeless saddle. It seems like it would be more comfortable for the horse and rider. could you possibly tell me where you order it or bought it. i love the conchos. i looked on google at bob marchall treeless barrel saddles and saw some similar but with no conchos. i love bling on my saddles
What's up with all the rude comments😳 Let Jamie do the things she wants maybe she did get a few things wrong but she is an awesome UA-camr with a gorgeous horse who doesn't need you're opinion!❤️
Maybe she does a few things wrong ? Then she shouldn't post a video on "how to do it " because someone who doesn't know or understand will learn to do it wrong also, with the end result of their horse getting hurt ( back cinch first ) or the person getting hurt, ( too many to name here ). I am not trying to be an ahole, but please, please people, not everything you see posted is correct. I hope we can all learn how to mdom things safely, so no one, or no horse gets hurt.
Sorry Debra, I have to agree with Laura. These aren’t rude comments that people are making. They are corrections to Jamie’s mistakes. She shouldn’t post an instructional video and do so many things wrong. And the cinch issue is very dangerous. Since so many people watch the video assuming she is is an authority it needs to be challenged
OK. I'm just going to point out a few things. First, that is not how you pick out hooves, second, that is not how you use a curry, third, you NEVER do the back cinch up first. Fifth, that is not what you're supposed to do with the extra strap. You are supposed to tie it like a tie at the end, not put it through the keeper on your saddle. That strap will come loose. I think you should spend more time learning how to properly groom and saddle, and less time trying to look like a stripper.
Alex Smith you should go to the the website Prettypinkacres.com it looks like a pin up doll or call girl she's nearly naked You would never think it's for horses & riding.
Watching this pissed me off! For starters, your grooming skills are appalling! You should never pick a horse hoof out like that - Two, should never do up the rear cinch first and three, dont be so damn rough when you do the cinch up! Spend more time on the welfare of the horse than your hair!
Wait a minute where are you from I see your from the English world that doesn’t know what you talking about. It doesn’t matter what u do first front cinch or back so stop hating
Double .D stop acting like you know what ur doing because you don't. That IS how you use a curry comb and that IS how you pick the horses hooves. If she isn't harming her horses then it's fine.
Always put the cinch on first. That way if your horse spooks the saddle is secure and won't roll if it's only secured by the back cinch or breast collar.
+BarrelRacer 1005 NO. You don't want to use that bit on a horse who has never used a bit. There is some serious leverage involved there and should only be used by a trained horse and a rider with soft hands. Personally, I'd NEVER put a bit like that on my horse. She'd never forgive me if I did.
+Kiana Wylesky just don't do it in that order ,,always start with main cinch,,when putting on and last when taking off,,,,but what i know only been working cows and hunting off horses for over forty five years,,farrier too,,along with trainer,,choice is yours
Wait she didint use the hood pick or the curry comb right then before the video starts she says that "always groom your horse good" but she uses no other brushes?
+XHorseDreamz X actually your meant to pick them out with hoof pick down. The frog is very sensitive and if she cause her horse with it picking them out like that then she will hurt her horse.
I was talking about the fact that she could potentially damage her horses tendons (the superficial digital tendon) by picking up the horses leg like she did. She squeezed it like that it could easily rupture it and potentially make him/her lame. I was also mentioning how she picked the hoof out, by the British Horse Society it was wrong. She was scraping at the hood not picking it out. Scraping at it could weaken it and another reason to make the horse lame. So I was saying NEVER do either of those things. It does depend on the pressure on the tendon and opinion. It's best to slide your hand down the back of his/her leg cluck and gently tug on the tufft of fur under the fetlock and immediately support the leg once lifted. Hold the hoof pick AWAY from you and pick down ward avoiding the frog. I'm 12 and I know all this maybe American/Canadian standards are different I don't know.
It’s funny how at the beginning of the video she says I’m going to show you how to properly saddle the horse well all I saw was a disastrous everything was wrong you did 🤣🙄🙄
Molly anna she's not picking the frog and if your horse has shoes then it's easier to pick upward so stop acting like you know what your doing because you don't
Doesn't matter how she does anything if it's wrong or right I think she is sure she knows what she's doing and doesn't need anyone telling her off and giving her shit feedback is is amazing that she has the time for all of us to show us how to do things. So appreciate it if you don't like it watch something else. Geeze
So my horse likes to move her feet and head around a lot so when people borrow her and she starts moving around they get all like “she runs too much” an they start freaking out it’s funny 😂😂
Y’all need to stop giving hate ok leave her the fuck alone let her live ols yea maybe she did it wrong but she was trying to get the saddle easier so it would wouldejt be hard leave her alone no hate on this comment:)
God you children should stop putting hate on video’s. Alright I agree she picked the hooves wrong but that doesnt mean you Guys can say she shouldn’t upload horse videos. You Guys don’t know whats good for her horse. So haters, Bye Bye 😑
I know this is late but you shouldn't tie your horse like that you need to do a slip not. It doesn't matter how good of a horse you have they still could blow up and hurt them selfs. True Story- a horse spooked and blew up and hit his lip on the trailer because he didnt have a slip not and cut his lip and he had to get stitches.
Whenever I feel bad about my horsemanship I like to come watch this video. Always makes me feel better.

It's not to close to the withers 🙃
Its not to close to the withers
The saddle is in the right spot and you missed the back cinch part lol wow you are really observant
Everyone has their own way if doing this. I sometimes don't use my curry in circleur motions and I sometimes pick the hoof the wrong way. So no one does it perfectly. The saddle isn't to close to the withers

NEVER tighten the back cinch BEFORE the front cinch, If the horse were to jump suddenly and the front is still loose, that saddle could slip around and there is a biog wreck. FRONT CINCH FIRST
Beth Hicks the saddle can still if she tightens the front sinch first bc you don't put it tight when your still tacking up
And make it so that the front cinch tighter on the other side so you don’t have so much Latigo when you are done
who would jump in a western saddle. i mean you can but ive never seen it before
I just laughed, she looks at the camera , "It's the next best thing to bareback." Lol
When you saddle you do the front cinch first then the back cinch last, when you are unsaddiling you do the back cinch then the front cinch.
I was taught to ALWAYS do the front cinch first because if the horses spooked when you only have the back cinch done you horse can get the saddle under them or on their butt which can make things much much worse
What a nice colour horse! Keep up the good vids!
I love watching your videos and I love your horses!
What kind of saddle pad do you use and what are the some of the best brands you would recommend?
I'm no expert and only been riding for 4 months, but I know enough to tell you that you shouldn't pick towards you. It should always be away from you just like with any other sharp object. Definitely looking into this type of saddle. Love the high cantle!
Pretty Pink Acres I have one question why do u use that horrible big Tom thumb bit ?
Barrel Racer Forever glad someone else seen especially on a docile horse like that. its wrong.
Barrel Racer Forever I didn't notice that right away but I did notice the excessive noise when she crammed the bit into his mouth
Thank you so much this help me a lot. I was just wondering if you could do a video on how to canter cause I've only just learnt how to canter so if you could do that it would be great thnx.

First of all NEVER hold your horses tendon like that! And that's not how you pick hooves hun...
I was thinking this!:((
+XHorseDreamz X actually your meant to pick them out with hoof pick down. The frog is very sensitive and if she cause her horse with it picking them out like that then she will hurt her horse.
