Hi, I’m Jamie M and I want to thank you so much for playing my requests. You have a great channel and great appreciation of good music. I don’t adhere to one genre, just like good music for the sake of good music! I’m old enough to have seen Queen with Freddie in concert at least a dozen times and at the time it felt life altering! Queen are my all time favorite band! Thank you, I am really enjoying your channel!
4 guys who could write, play, sing and entertain… John Deacon on bass vastly underrated, Brian May simply a guitar god, Roger Taylor one the best drummers who could sing too and then Freddie leading us all, including the audience. No synths until BoRap. Saw Queen many times in 70’s & 80’s, always a brilliant show that left you wanting more.
That is so true about playing the audience, he got love from them by giving it, it probably helped him through some tough times of loneliness in his heart ❤️
"I won't be a rock star. I'll be a legend" - Freddy Mercury - I was at this concert and right in the 8th row to see this performance! One of the best memories of my life, to be sure. All the backing vocals are real too.

Yes it makes me sad to be born in 87. It just kind of faded with the 90s. But I agree best Era of music ever
Right -- Freddie was recorded as saying once that he was fortunate to be ina band with two of the best singers in the world (or words to that effect). He was referring to Roger (who has remarkable command of the upper range and a great falsetto) and Brian, who has a very decent rock voice. Both have forged strong solo careers outside of Queen. John never sang on any Queen studio album but did very occasionally contribute to backing vocals live (but really shouldn't have!). Hw was very capable on bass but his stand-out talent and contribution to Queen was his brilliant songwriting, with most of his songs that were recorded on Queen albums going on to be hit singles.

He wanted to work with her , but she didn't reach out to him. He ŕecorded & performed with one o f his other favorites. Montserrat Caballet, the great opera singer. In 1987-88. The most prominent backup vocal you hear is provided by the drummer, Roger Taylor, which you will see singing by himself toward the end of the performance. He's got a fantastic voice, as does Brian May, but Roger's voice is pretty amazing. He has a very high falsetto that you really hear in Bohemian Rhapsody but also has a great raspy rock voice. The "call and response" section that sounds like gospel is because Freddie wrote this song as a tribute to Aretha Franklin and her style of music. The original official video is pretty amazing too!
Freddie had a voice that was so powerful and incredible! There’s no one can touch him as far as vocals. His vibrato was impeccable! This group was the best ever. Freddie held the audience in the palm of his hand. He was the best frontman ever! There will never be another Freddie! Thank goodness we still have their music!
Freddie always gave 200%. Roger always had Freddie's back, so did Brian and John. They were a unifide force. I started listening to them in the 70's. I'm happy you found them. They will make your life more complete, complex, and considerable. Chase the rabbit down the hole. You won't be disappointed.

They all have/had healthy normal personalities. ANd that was the foundation that this group could build such a strong team, where realy no member can got exchanged.
There is absolutely nothing inadequate about Queen's backing vocals. The band worked extremely hard and produced amazing vocals and stunning harmonies. After all, harmonies are Queen's absolute trade mark .
I cannot imagine my life without Queen, I was born in 66 it's the soundtrack of my childhood, the best thing about Freddy's voice is that no matter how many times you hear it, you still get the feels, 😊 watching just now gave me goosebumps for over 50 years now. He never disappoints.

Im 71 and blast up the radio when Queen comes on, one of my favorite bands saw 16hours of live aid queen were the greatest the world lost a true musical magician, and gentleman when freddy passed, god rest his soul.
During their 20 mins on stage at Live Aid. Freddy actually leads the audience in a vocal warm up! He has them right there with him. Did you know, after Freddie passed, Queen wrote a song as a tribute to him. It's called Only the good die young. It's beautiful ☮️
I read it was good for Freddie's voice too. They had been on a tour and Freddie had problems with vocal cords or something.Doctors had advised him not to sing. The vocal warming up with the audience-who didn't come to see queen because it wasn´t known Queen would perform that day-was also a break for Freddie's voice. And exercises like this is good for the singers voice.
The Montreal show, spectacular as it is, is only Queen's second-best performance. The LiveAid show is widely considered THE best live performance in rock history, even 35+ years later.
What other group will the audience sing the song to the singer!! Don't people go to concerts to listen to the singers? Many times the audience sang for Freddie!
Freddie Mercury was born to perform. He was such a talented man with a fabulous voice and could hold that audience in the palm of his hand. He was so loved and still is.❤
The greatest live performance of a song there will ever be, 42 years later with all todays musical trickery no one has come even close to this epic performance.

When he sang “Don’t Stop me now” the “little”room was his….and we are talk in about the L.A. Forum. God Bless Freddie and Queen….we were lucky to have him(them).
Freddie was never married to Mary, but they did stay friends till the very end, and she inherited a very large portion of his estate. Check out Love of my Life he wrote for her and then Live Aid was epic.❤❤❤
This is their 2nd best live performance ever. Live Aid being number one. In this one, Roger's (drummer) vocal capabilities shines, and he and Freddie were in perfect harmonize on this one. Magical. Epic performance. Thanks. Enjoy.
If u think this is the 2nd best live performance of theirs, then you havent listened to any of the bootlegs...The fact that this performance is, in their standards, just a good, decent version is a testament to what they were capable of. Listen to the first night version of this song (This filmed version is the second night) and you'll be blown away.
There was NO trickery, no added vocals, no electronic manipulation of any kind. This is what they sounded like live pretty much every single time. I grew up with this band and many others. They all lived and died by their own talent and nothing else.
Now you know why we oldies know our music. We had the best to listen to and dance and sing to. I'm telling our parties was epic with this music. I'm from South 🇿🇦
@@dis7817 He did - he'd also studied fashion design when he was in art school, and he even made some of their early stage costumes himself. Keeping in mind that Brian May had built his own guitar, (the famous Red Special), and John Deacon had built a special amp for Brian too. Queen were collectively brilliant as a band.
Farrokh Bulsara born in Zanzibar to Parsi-Indian parents, spent child hood in India, family moved to England - Freddie Mercury was then born and went on to become the biggest rockstar in the whole bloody world. Sad he had a short life!
This concert was '81, but the song came out in '76. I saw them as a teenager in '78 and they sang this. They were incredible - and yes, they were part of the soundtrack of my formative years. We absolutely did have great music ... There was nobody else like Freddie, though. ❤
I have watched this performance over and over. It continues to amaze me. Four extremely talented musicians, and a frontman who is a legend. His VOICE ❤️
I did grow up in the 70's and Queen were my band without question. Finally got to see them live in 1986 at Knebworth Park in the UK. Turned out to be their last ever live show in the UK. I feel so lucky
There has been no one else in the music world whose death affected me so much, I think that is because he always seemed so perfectly in the moment and intensely alive. It seemed impossible for that to be gone. It made us all feel more alive with him. I am always glad his performances have been kept available, while sometimes the world around him seems to have dated Queen hasn’t seemed a part of that. I was only reading a couple of days ago about how much he was loved, by so many who knew him well, and how much he loved them too. Thinking back he did so much for diversity too, he crossed so many barriers, in fact he just lifted them as if they never existed, because he was so amazingly talented that very few could resist him!
I was lucky. Grew up in the seventies and had the likes of Queen, Journey, Boston, Kansas, and so many more to listen to. Honestly, we took them for granted because it was an abundance of riches back then.
Great comments ! We were so lucky. I was obsessed with Boston, their first album is a masterpiece. Also a great band live, got to see them in 1976 or 77 at Madison Square Garden, memory is fuzzy lol. Happens when you get old. Some great bands of the 70’s to add to your list, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. But to this day, Queen was the best concerts (saw them twice) I’ve ever been to, legendary.
Queen are amazing. They are the only band to not only be I'm the rock n roll hall of fame but to have each member of the band individually in the songwriters Hall of fame
Mercury was a great musician. One of the best rock singers we ever had. He brought Bohemian Rhapsody to the group and described each section to the band,... the headbanger part, the opera part,..... UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Freddie wrote this song as a nod to Aretha Franklin who he totally admired. This performance is flawless, every band member is spot on. Roger is amazing on the back up vocals as is Brian. I love this performance, imagine being in that audience. Another outstanding live performance by Queen is "White Queen" live at Odeon, Hammersmith 12/24/1975, you should check it out for yourself or as a reaction if you so choose. The instrumental portion of that song will absolutely blow you away and Freddie's vocals are immaculate. Thank you for your reaction.
Absolutely incredible performance. Also regarding the lyrics and meaning behind the song, I believe Freddy was gay or at least bisexual and struggling with hiding it/acceptance during those times. If you look at the lyrics from that context it actually makes a lot more sense.
No auto tune, no tricks, just raw talent... this whole concert is amazing. but so is the Magic Tour concert at Wembley 1986...in fact, I've yet to see a bad live performance from Queen. They have some pretty amazing music videos as well. They do every genre from rockabilly to metal to opera. Definitely something for everyone.
What makes Freddie Mercury a LEGEND? His voice, stage presence/best frontman ever, his charisma, and just his overall personality. Oh his very dedicated fans as well, coz I've actually seen a youtube shorts video about Freddie Mercury and BTS imitating his chant for the crowd and it was a bad imitation that people started dissing BTS coz they said it was very disrespectful to Freddie, and no matter how much insult BTS members get in the comments, you will see no BTS fan insulting Freddie coz they were also a fan of him. I mean c'mon Freddie is literally loved by everyone. BTS fans stand no chance to Freddie's fans. He was THAT loved.
After Live Aid .. this is epic!!! Freddie broke his microphone stand once.. and loved how he played with it... so from then on... He used a stand like that... like playing a guitar... etc.
I'm sure dozens have said this, but I'll say it anyway. Their Live Aid performance is listed as arguably the greatest concert performance ever. If you haven't seen it, definitely worth watching.
We are indeed so lucky we got to have Freddie Mercury. I actually prefer this live performance to the studio version of this song, that's how amazing Queen was.
I know everyone recommends the awesome Live Aid concert, but for me you can't really beat Wembley, particularly the Saturday version. All the iconic songs, Freddie's great eeh oh with the audience, not forgetting Brian's virtuoso guitar solo from Brighton Rock... plus the " revisited" version of In The Lap of the Gods. If you're going to react to Live Aid, though, please make sure it's the version that doesn't cut the ending! Oh, and I should also mention Freddie's operatic turns with Montserrat Caballe. You really will see how versatile he was.
No he wasn't the greatest showman ever, how about Sinatra or James Brown or Chuck Berry or Jagger or little Richard or Michael Jackson ? He was a great performer but not the best
This was Freddie's tribute to Aretha Franklin, who was one of his influences. You can hear her starting at 6:52. You should also check out Save Me from this concert.
Queen would NEVER have backing tracks live. Everything is for real. In fact when they get to the operatic section of Bohemian Rhapsody, which is heavily layered, they leave the stage while it plays. I had the absolute privilege to see them live twice. Legends.
I think that is such a classy move on their part---besides getting a little break out of it, too! If more young musicians knew about it, maybe they would think twice about the casual lies they live on stage.
Thank you for a great reaction...Freddie wrote this song as a tribute to Aretha Franklin, whom he admired...he had hoped that she would sing it one day🤩
Generational talent. All that can be said. No one has ever been able to duplicate him and never will. One of the greatest vocal range singers ever. And like you said he knew how to play the crowd.
That is Freddie in his glorious four octave range, Roger Taylor's backup vocals are also incredible. I was fortunate enough to see them perform at Live Aid in London on 13JUL85 and I will never forget that experience.......I am looking forward to seeing Queen w/ Adam Lambert in Toronto on Oct 8th this year. Love, love, love their music!
Adam Lambert is an exceptional choice for a new front man. He’s got the talent, charisma, vocal range, and passion to make it work. He’s not Freddie, but he’ll deliver!
Thanks for the great reaction! This whole concert was great! It was filmed over two nights and the band, mostly Freddie, was not happy with the film crew. He purposely switched out costumes to ensure songs could not the spliced. One of my favorite deep dives from this concert is “Save Me”. You will see Sir Brian May start on the piano and then switch to guitar and Freddie then takes over piano duties. It is a fantastic performance!
huh....this is live! there's no enhancements of anything, pure talent so insanely hooked into each other, all memebers, fantastic. RogerTaylor is amazing here,too...

I’m 76, I wasn’t that young at their peak, but my friends and I loved Queen, Freddies early death from AIDS was tragic. His life was too short, but he packed a lot into it. Freddie was an inspiration, but Queen still around, still incredible performers. Such is life.
👏👏👏 Great reaction to a beautiful song, thanks. This is one of the greatest live performances ever. Freddie was an absolutely untrained singer, but he could sing anything from metal to opera (it's not a joke). By listening to Aretha Franklin's records he taught himself the phrasing, by admiring to Jimi Hendrix he taught hismelf to play the guitar, he was a very gifted self made man who had been always craving for The Love and for an ongoing, long lasting relationship. Finally he found it on the side of Jim Hutton.
I was 25 years old & I lived a 5 hour drive to Montreal. A bunch of us drove to Montreal, and OMG, what a freaking incredible time as we watched Queen live in 1981. There is no other group that blew me away than Freddie and the boys. All of us pretty much lost our voices screaming & singing to all the great Queen hits. I've never forgotten the best time of my 20s. CHECK OUT LIVE AID if you haven't as yet, SEBS! Best LIVE PERFORMANCE globally & it's never been topped to this day.

No backing vocal tracks needed for Queen. Roger Taylors voice is amazing...and Brian May's also.
The entire band can sing, they are all masters. There is nothing fake, take my word. :)
Baby it's ALL them!! Instruments, vocals and personalities!!
Now you know why we oldies know our music. We had the best to listen to and dance and sing to. I'm telling our parties was epic with this music. I'm from South 🇿🇦
Not only was Freddie a consummate musician but as a student of graphic design, he drew the face on the drum and designed Queen's logo!
I think he designed most of the costumes worn and stage designs. Just a guess.
THE best band of all time...
Definitely a MUST for you to watch the entire 20 minute Live Aid concert! Nothing like you’ve ever seen! Mesmerizing LEGENDS! And No auto tune!! 🥰♥️🎶
All the other big-name acts at Lve-Aid admitted Queen stole the show.
This song and Bohemian Rhapsody I never get tired of listening to!!! Amazing!
I have watched this performance over and over. It continues to amaze me. Four extremely talented musicians, and a frontman who is a legend. His VOICE ❤️
Roger the drummer was a fantastic vocalist and a good songwriter
Freddy - THE greatest male vocalist ever PERIOD.
Just four guys making music. Legends
I did grow up in the 70's and Queen were my band without question. Finally got to see them live in 1986 at Knebworth Park in the UK. Turned out to be their last ever live show in the UK. I feel so lucky
You’re so lucky, I wish I could have been to one of their concerts. They’re my favourite of all time.
The world lost a great singer when we lost Freddie there will no one that can replace him.
Queen was full of soooo talented individuals making them the best ban EVER they gave their all to EVERY live performane, I miss them so much ❤❤❤
I was lucky.
Same here! OUR 🎶music was best! And add Eagles to that list! ♥️😉✌
What you see is what you get with Queen
Queen are amazing. They are the only band to not only be I'm the rock n roll hall of fame but to have each member of the band individually in the songwriters Hall of fame
You won't beat a live show by Queen!
What you hear is what they perform. No tricks.
Mercury was a great musician. One of the best rock singers we ever had. He brought Bohemian Rhapsody to the group and described each section to the band,... the headbanger part, the opera part,..... UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
My favorite song of Queen I can’t stop listening to it
Freddie wrote this song as a nod to Aretha Franklin who he totally admired.
Yes- they wen't on in the studio producing records - but without promotional tours it was vital to make videos. There are many.
This is a classic moment of music that will go down in history.
Roger Taylor always hits the very high notes (like the "Galileo's" in Bohemian Rhapsody). I'm so glad I saw them live in 1978. Great memories.
Look up how many times Freddie wanted it done and redone..till perfection...❤
I got to see them on their "New's of the World" Tour I was 13 at the time.
Brian May just passed...so gutted 💔😭rest in peace ☮️✝️💜🕊️
@@JackieBlue65 wow that just broke my heart hearing that. Thanks for letting all of us know. Rest in peace Mr. Brian May
@@laudanum669 hated to tell people...this one hit hard☮️💜⚓💔
Freddie wrote this song, and it was his favorite.
After Live Aid
.. this is epic!!!
The whole band can sing. The drummer hits the high notes. All so talented
We are indeed so lucky we got to have Freddie Mercury. I actually prefer this live performance to the studio version of this song, that's how amazing Queen was.
Freddie was quirk of nature, a total genius.....they'll never ever be anyone like him again....
And yet again, another great English band/group that is is so bloody mindblowing🤯👏
This is why we miss him so much incredible talent, incredible voice
WOW, huge Queen fan but have never seen this particular performance. Awesome!!! Thanks
The greatest showman ever queen the most amazing band unrivalled unbeaten ❤️
I was 21 when I saw them in concert. I will never forget what a special night!❤
Thank you for a great reaction...Freddie wrote this song as a tribute to Aretha Franklin, whom he admired...he had hoped that she would sing it one day🤩
John Deacon too!! He was the bass guitarist. When Freddie sadly died John could no longer play with Queen, so sad.
Queen is ALWAYS best live!!!
I agree a fantastic performance. Having seen them live 5 times this is ALWAYS their standard of performance. NO other comparisons
Save me is one of their most beautiful ballads.
Music brings such joy. Something the world needs much more of. Bring back school funding for music class.
huh....this is live! there's no enhancements of anything, pure talent so insanely hooked into each other, all memebers, fantastic. RogerTaylor is amazing here,too...
All 4 members are top of their game. Roger shines in this rendition. What a talent.
Just Queen ! We’re used to it…… those of us who only accept perfection. (Words in songs are just words in a song. )
Hi , I am Gisele Sims writing on my twins computer so a little confusing. I would think you would be blown away if you did reaction to Bohemian Rhapsody .I am 61yrs old and still play Queens music all the time , they made a film about Freddie Mercury and Queen called Bohemian Rhapsody same name as the song . I cried alot watching it , but so wonderful hearing all their music it was brilliant you won't be disappointed, cheers from Australia
See this is the reason why these four guys respected each other so much. It's real talent when 4 guys can make this much sound!
Hard to believe that four guys can make such a big sound. Love them to death.
"Drummers that never miss a beat" Re-watch the Live Aid performance, time it, Roger Taylor drops 1 sec in a 20 minute performance. Unbelievable man!
Freddie’s voice was a beautiful instrument.
