I got the PSIO when it was the only ODE for PS1, it plays all the games I want perfectly, by this point its like 99.9% library compatible. Of course now I would have other options with more features but I dont regret owning it at all, it's done me fine for years and I have no reason to get a diifferent one yet.
I think the reason there isn’t more vocal outrage against the PSIO situation is that everyone kind of expected this. We know Matt treats his customers with contempt, this is just par for the course. Whereas the Limited Run thing, I’ve never much cared for what they do, but they at least seemed to be providing quality products for the most part. Then we find out some of their games are burned discs rather than pressed? And they’re selling them at a premium?
It’s hard to watch “Positive Panda” Bob give bad news on corrupt companies. Retro gaming is a passion and some people want to profit heavily off of it. With that said; I’d rather hear the bad news from Bob than anyone else. Keep up the good fight brother

i don't see how its the companies business who has the device. Just release the firmware for free or release if for a fee. all these other hoops seem silly.
I'm in the exact situation you talk about with the PSIO where I sold my modded PSX, at a loss, to someone. They'll now have no way to update it. I hope, for their sake, that one of the custom firmwares gets released for it so people have some options on how to use hardware they've legitimately bought. Meanwhile, I'm happy to have and enjoy my xStation modded one instead.
I’ll be honest. I was curious about the PSIO but I’m glad I never did. When I was looking into it I heard about the X station and then the mister core was coming out so I went those routes instead. I can’t speak for anyone else but I feel bad for anyone who did buy this and were disappointed and they should be vocal about it.
I find it even crazier that no one is talking about what Fixel is putting his customers through. The situation has gotten insane and there's not a peep of it outside the 3DO Discord.
He stopped responding to me awhile back. Some friends have gotten through to him and he's trying to get everything shipped out. Would be nice if he took the time to at least update his customers though ;/
Rob the 3D intro for Ace Attorney Vs. Phoenix Wright looks AMAZING and I started wondering if 3D could have succeeded if they would have TRIED hand drawn animation in 3D for movies. I think this was a lost opportunity.
I think the real question is, how fixed is it after the update? The Mister core is pretty solid. My X Station seems to be great. So does the update make the PSIO even relevant?
I am liking the emulation, mister sean. It's what it is. No soldering stuff. That was annoying. I update the mister every month. Seems to be constant updates. that's grate. I don't know how to code to even start. Analogue pocket is also awesome. How they miss putting cheat codes in. Mister did put them in after. The top consoles are on there. Can dock it. plays fine with switch controller. What i was looking for. Can bring it with me. Retro consoles can rest.
I might be one of the few that's been really happy with Psio and Ive had it for years. I know the update process is a bit convoluted but its not tricky and I think I'd rather it wasn't too easy so someone else could use my Psios serial number.
How are they going to get your serial number? What are they going to take from you if they did? Frankly it doesn't sound like a problem a customer would actually be worried about. I'd rather it be extremely easy because I don't care if someone else gets a firmware download or not.

You bent over backwards trying to be understanding about PSIO. I too get it, the Aliexpress clone sales really do hurt our hobby and creators across the board. However, I can't stand behind this ridiculous treatment of legitimate customers. Let's face facts here. Cloners are going to find a way around stuff like this anyway. The guy should be content with using a serial number ALONE to verify a legitimate purchase. Why can't that work? If one particular serial number is suddenly getting some crazy amount of downloads from IPs all over the world, blocklist it. When your authentication system is a bigger pain in the neck than activating Windows, you've done something wrong. I just can't tolerate this, and I've definitely picked a "side" here. There's a better product now with better customer friendly support. Heck even the web site design is a hard to read mess... That's not really here nor there so I guess that was a bit of a petty dig but... I kind of lost all patience with the guy.

For Sturmwind, is the D-pad for the VMU or the Dreamcast controller? I thought it was referring to the VMU to go with the new silicone pad.

On my mister. I do the update all script every so often and none of the arcade games work. Says its missing zips. Any ideas?
Maybe when you go to update all hit UP on the gamepad to enter options and go through the options to make sure everything is set right there
