Hi, it seem that all of the videos from your FPS recordings don't have any sound. Was it done on purpose or is there any problems with LGP2 capturing audio?
Just out of curiosity has the latest update improved the video quality as they mentioned in the patch notes or is it the same as in your video with the tint as before. If possible could you upload footage after the update as well?
Thanks, you have the most helpful review of LGP2 I've ever seen on youtube. I was really interesting in the real recording quality and not just a list of functions that I can read on the avermedia website. Special thanks for the recordings uploaded to amazon cloud :)
I think its Great to record on Pc Free Mode..if you want to add more color to the Clip you just use a Program and add colorfull filter and It will look just like the Local One.. Great Video..
Hello . The video looks really cool. I have this problem - when you start to record video , then recorded the audio only without pictures . I could tell you what you can do with it ?
If anyone's wondering, 1h:30m:2s of 1080p/60fps footage takes 10.5 gb in PC Free mode. I used 32 gb. Used Phison Electronics Corp. 32 gb microSDHC class 10, Read 90mb/s Write 80mbs/s.
bought mine yesterday mainly because of this video. I have watched many videos about the LGP2 and by far your's is the best in terms of explaining the pros, cons and the essentials in just over 5 minutes. unfortunately my 3 year old laptop is not capable enough to live-stream 1080p60 live without frames dropping but luckily the onboard recording functions helps alot. ps: you deserve more subs :)
How well does this card work with OBS? I'd mainly be using it for streaming to Twitch and hear of problems with stuttering on the Elgato HD60 and had problems with a Razer Ripsaw which I'm returning. I've heard conflicting reports of how well this works with OBS. I'm looking for a nice capture card that can at least handle 720p 60fps when streaming. Also, kind of a weird follow-up question, but if I buy an adapter will this be able to record retro consoles such as SNES, N64, and Gamecube? Not really a requirement for me but would be a nice bonus.
I know this reply comes way later than your question, but I only came across this, today. According the Avermedia, yes, you can capture streams from retro gaming consoles as long as you have an appropriate HDMI converter to whatever the console uses.
any upsides to switching to storage mode for transferring data? I just take out the micro sd and pop that in my usb reader and that in my pc.. and so far ive used only the micro SD recording and not through PC because the cables cannot reach my PC... any tips on how to use my PC anyway? It's sitting like 3 meters away but if I can even find an HDMI that long, it'll look unsightly laid out across the room.
I am hooking it up to my Desktop PC I5 3.2 GHZ 16GB of Ram.. Keeps saying Device not Detect.. I cant figure it out went to there side installed it still says device not found Why? I got to device manager and says USB Video Device like not detect try do update drivers getting no where..
Hello . I have a problem. When I write a PS4 through portable 2 (with separate microphone), the video itself is obtained with a hiss, and a separate audio track is no microphone
Hi, If I just use the avermedia to pass through video footage from my gaming pc to my streaming PC, and I record the hdmi passed through video via my streaming PC. Would there be a quality loss? or will quality loss only occur when I record using the avermedia via SD card?
Hi Eposvox. I have this capture card but i am not impressed about the video quality when used with OBS studio on 1080 resolution. Is the magewell plus 4k a better solution(I am sure its better but i wanna know how much better it is)?
Of course it is, but it's like 4x the cost and doesn't record to a SD card, lol. If you don't need the "portable" aspect, there are plenty of more affordable (than the Magewell) gaming capture cards that produce much better quality than this. ua-cam.com/play/PLzo7l8HTJNK9dN_ABiv1X9mxEM744pZxC.html
Is it worth buying with this device as my PC is too old and sluggish. I do want to do game streaming on my Nintendo Switch, Samsung Dex Station and PS4
Thanks for sharing this video. It's helpful to actually see the side-by-side comparison like that. Did you basically record through both capture cards at the same time? Btw, how did you do the recolour edit? Any software you could recommend for that?
Yes I just used a HDMI splitter to run my console video source to both capture cards at the same time. I just used the built-in color correcting tools in Premiere Pro to mess with the color. Virtually every video editing program has color correcting/grading tools in it.
Fortunately, MSU has a pretty effective filter for VirtualDub which proved useful back in the days of ezcap (oh christ, I feel like I just qualified myself for a seniors discount there--wait until I mention DVD recorders and sites like sdkess' Vortiginous). As for colors, grading is fortunately a thing (as you mentioned).
When i record via REC Central 3 with h264 it consumes nearly fully CPU... Wtf.. this LGP 2 is not made like first LGP? First LGP never consume CPU performance but this one yes.
I'm really interested in this card and you answered my bitrate question on pc free mode which is awesome, though I do want to ask: When using the pc free mode, do the files split after a certain amount? I want to be able to do long non-interrupted recordings, past the 4-5 hour mark. Thank you
For someone that doesn't own an amazing PC for recording, this has been great for me. Figured out my audio solutions and everything now (this includes a Mic + headphone Y cable sort of thing you can plug into the second audio port to receive and record sound respectively with separate headphone and mic). Only thing I'm struggling with is recording PSVita and PS3. I understand you need some splitter or something? Do I need any special cables with splitter?
I'm confused by some of the wording I've seen associated with this. It says on the amazong product page that you can record to an SD card but then I see a lot of people talking about micro SD instead? Can it use regular SD cards or do you have to use a micro SD?
I want to record video (only video, no audio) from Sony Monitor having DVI-I output? Can i do with with the help of DVI to HDMI cable for this recorder?
I'd buy this only for the 0 latency b/c I rather put my full attention on the PC monitor while recording/commentary, but may need to see how the Elgato H60 is holding up
There's never "0 latency" - there's "low latency" which is great for streaming, but there's always a few MS of latency that, for me, is enough to make playing shooters and such too difficult.
This seems like a nice thing for people with a slight interest in game capture/streaming but doesn't know enough to want to invest fully. Much like a beginner musician buying a Squire guitar instead of Fender or Pacific Drums instead of Drum Workshop.
Thanks for the advice, just bought a 3080 RTX space hog that pushed my Blackmagic capture card out of my daily drive....Now I have a cheap Live Gamer 2 I am going to use with my camcorder. I will see you next crime...
Open Broadcaster Software is a free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Stream to Twitch, UA-cam and many other providers or record your own videos.
@@SamHuangVideos You always need a TV or monitor to run the HDMI passthrough to to play. There's no capture card with low enough latency (especially running on a laptop) to comfortably play from the preview
@@EposVox Thanks for the information. LAST QUESTION (sorry to bother you), but I was wondering if the actual recording/stream is done within the LGP2 PLUS itself or within the computer?
I'd stay away from the elgato. The inherent lag was just way too much. Every few seconds, I'd have a lag spike and I'm running a quad core 2.8ghz I7 processor with a Geforce GTX 970 - It made no sense. I just got mine today and I'm loving the results so far.
did you found out how to fix the sound? if so, how? i have both hdmi cables properly connected and still no sound when i want to capture pc gameplay in pc mode
yes i m expert on those things i know how it works but the problem is on the capture card my capture card can only record sound via pc not by herself by the capture card only on pc that means the capture card dont record the sound the pc record the sound and send it to the capture card is then the capture card o k or not
Wow.. the manual is FUCKING horrible! Does not even tell you what FORMAT you need for your Micro SDcard either! Come to think of it, it appears NONE of the videos regarding this product do either. Tried different formats on a new 64gb card and STILL have a solid red light when using with PS4. Not sure what else to do except send this POS back to Amazon.
I didn't need to format mine prior to using with this device, but I already had it formatted for another use prior. That's generally a common troubleshooting step, so most of us wouldn't think to mention it. That being said, most Micro SD cards would probably come pre-formatted in a compatible way for this anyway.
Yeah, see... the problem with that is that almost any micro SD card is pre-formatted as exFAT. The other problem is that Windows 8 and 10 machines default to a exFAT or NTFS format option ONLY (even disk manager does not allow the change) when trying to partition and format these cards, thus requiring a program like 'mini-partition manager' or similar to make the cards work. These units will only work with FAT32 formatted cards. The other thing that most people forget to put in their reviews or 'setups' when it comes to 'PC-FREE' mode, is the issue of HDCP that needs to be disabled with the PS4. If you DO NOT disable HDCP (settings / system) on the PS4, this thing will not work, period. I'm stubborn so I picked up one today just to see if there was any difference and the new one works just fine with HDCP disabled and the card formatted to FAT32. The first Avermedia unit is definitely a brick and is going back tomorrow. Cheers,
