Looks like a stop watch. Beautiful dial.
Ive seen the black dialed one in reality and it is stunningly beautiful
I'm running out of superlatives for this tidy bit of kit Mr Rob !
That is a very nice Chrono. Too bad the price is so high.
I love this watch...heck I just love seiko and almost all they make.
The dial is enameled. Seiko did a few other limited edition watches with this dial including an automatic six hand chronograph
I like that this looks a lot like the vintage stop watch it is moded after. This should be a vertical clutch column wheel chronograph, also.
I agree. The Tudor Blackbay chrono, with the Breitling B01 is a better buy and price wise close.
The Seiko uses a vertical clutch column-wheel movement (and is considerably cheaper than the Breitling and Tudor chronos)
@@rickjason215
Wrong. The Tudor is about a grand more expensive
perfect dimensions..
for a brick!!
That's a good looking watch. Shame about the case thickness but with an auto chrono what can you do.
I would go Hamilton Intramatic with its screw down crown
Can you keep the chronograph running and use the central chronograph hand as regular seconds hand? It's a good looking watch
If I were to buy a chronograph, I would get the Breitling Premier B01. The pushers don't stick out. Verticle clutch, column wheel. 70 hour power reserve. 100 meter water resistant. Nice bracelet. A couple of thousand more on Chrono24, than the Seiko or get 20% off at your AD. Much better watch than the Seiko. I never liked Breitlings, but this watch with that great B01 movement intrigues me.
Watch makers have interesting opinions about That movement. They try to keep it polite around the owners of such expensive things.
Woah! Looks so unique. Looks like a tank as well. But damn the pushers are so large like shrek's ears lol.
Jesus wept that's thick! 😅
Its a honker...lol.
I saw a ball engineer hydrocarbon that looks a lot like this piece.
Damn you, Sir! Stop making me spend all my money!
FWIW, that bracelet has three half links. You can see them in this video...
Nice looking. But seems a bit thick.
When are they going to make the affordable obtainable version never I bet 😢
Not with that movement at least
@@mariog7213 yes with a different movement
Average person never get a chance to own one. Thank you for showing something a select few will have.
It reminds me off a Sphygmomanometer, to measure blood pressure. It looks clinical.
Looks like something a PE teacher would wear around his neck. I guess it would cost a lot more if it looked like a Breittling Navitimer or an IWC
My Omega Speedmaster is a lot thinner and looks extremely thin on the wrist. Most elegant. Also it has screw links and micro adjust. You can pick it up on the used market for less than this oversized inadequate Seiko. It also weighs 160 grams and is 2 seconds a day. What were Seiko thinking?
Nice looking dial but for that price I'll buy a Hanhart over this Seiko any day of the week
15.5mm thick, no bracelet micro adjustment or half links, and it’s $3200. Those make this a hard pass for me. Thanks for the review Rob.
No microadjust? One would have to be insane to spend this money
Sure looks like there are two half links in that bracelet. Should still have some micro adjustment though.
I have this watch. Very beatriful finishing and quality. But yes micro adjustment i need badly no matter how hard i tried to find perfect fit it didnt work. Very losy wairing watch , instead of tight ;( and my watch running -6 sec slow daily not bad but i would expect better accuracy from such high grade movement. My wrist size 7.5” and it doesnt looks so thick on wrist. U can easily waer .. it definitely eyes catch watch

Well I did and I love it.
Seiko, chronograph, automatic I think I just came....
When asked about the execution of this Seiko, I'd say I'm in favor of it...
I'm really worn out on Seiko's pricing.
At base level, when they do a reissue of say, The Willard, and charge what they do, it's a tough pill to swallow. That much for a reissue of a TOOL WATCH. And don't even start with the limited edition stuff at 5k+.
I get it, they want to go upmarket, but there needs to be a corner of their market that is still catered to with purpose instead of goddamn greed.
Why buy a Seiko at this price? Better off buying Swiss or German at that point!
It's a third of the price of an automatic chronograph from those countries.
@@drbobsnightmare2521 nah..check Sinn. Check Tissot and Hamilton, maybe even Longines. Those are just examples. The PRX chrono even has a 12h chrono, is easily found at 1.5k (pretty much half of this Ssiko) and isnt as thick. Plus it looks better to me (subjective, of course).
@@tiagodvt quartz ? That's apples and oranges
@@drbobsnightmare2521 who said quartz? I am talking mechanical.
Look I'm of the opinion that a 4k Seiko SLA is a better watch than a 15k Rolex Submariner. How are you going to sway me with a Tissot?
No mention of the incredible movement. It’s almost as if all the knows about watches is how pretty they are and the size of it 🙄
You didn’t watch the video.
@@RandomRobReviewsI did, 3 times lol. No mention of the hand assembled movement or the vertical clutch and column wheel. These components are notoriously difficult to produce and are expensive, which is why this type of chronograph is seen only in time pieces in the range of 4-5k and above.
@@JoeSmith-np6nz
I spoke on the movement. I don’t cover fine details of watches. Quick vids to cover watches as many as I can. Sorry to disappoint you and desire to learn more about movement.
This watch is definitly not wort the price and by a lot.
Really dont like it.. for that price you can get some great watches.
No thanks on this one !!!
Odd that nobody outside a few Swiss brands has been able to make an automatic chronograph movement that isn't painfully thick. Watches always end up 15-17 mm in height; like this one.
Lars and Ani at the hydraulic press channel can help you out.
No micro adjust? $3200? Hard pass. There are so many other auto chronos in this price point that are more interesting to enjoy than this one. Font get me wrong. I love Seiko. Seiko got me into the hobby. Before they lost their mind on their pricing. This one is a great example of how overpriced Seiko is in 2023. I am sure the movement is the bees knees. IMHO there is nothing about it that is unique or striking about it. If you like it than awesome.
That much thick with a mere 100m WR! plus that much of a price tag!! Naaah! Pass. Handsome Face though.
Going to work on the seabed were we time submarine races are we?
@@drbobsnightmare2521 hee! hee! hee! that's a good one.
Just overpriced,
Seiko have lost their damn minds, you can literally buy a Speedmaster Racing with a date complication right now for that things MSRP. With those specs, I'd expect $1,500 max, and I still wouldn't buy it.
Unless you're comparing a used, decade-old Speedmaster Racing to this Seiko brand-new at full MSRP, the prices aren't even in the same realm. A new Speedmaster Racing is over $9k and used versions of the current model are typically over $6k, which is more Grand Seiko territory.
Some people think a pair of pants that says Juicy on the butt are somehow worth paying more for. Same goes with watch dials and names of eurotrash countries.
