The game Sky is all about " giving " and not expecting anything in return. Hence why you give your time for running for candles. Giving candles to friends. And giving light to those who have fallen. It's all about sacrifice. *I personally LOVE sky*
I have a theory on what happened on Eden. The realms where we have the chance of losing light were places that aren't meant to be like that. The acid rain of Forest was partly created through wastes of ressource exploitation (as we saw that trees were cut), partly were caused because of the realm's elder's tears. The dirty water and plants were created by scraps and trash which polluted the water and made dark plants grow, which could be a threat to crops (I think). Wasteland was not a wasteland, but the ressources have already been overexploited and war happened in that realm. Fight against krills happened because krills were mutated from the overextraction of light from the light creatures, mostly whales (as of some died and other dark creatures were probably defeated/killed so they don't exist by the time we enter the world). Wasteland was a battlefield where there were knights (those who protect the light from the darkness) battled, but also where two factions have clashed : one of the Elders and the other from the King, one side being more socialist while the other is more conservative. The King who developed the kingdom through the exploitation of light and dark stones felt threatened after the war since he from then on knows that some people wanted to take him down. Eden, was a place ressembling to heaven. In the Bible, Eden was the name of the heavenly garden that God created as a home for Adam and Eve. Eden in the game is also where the castle of the King is located and also whose social area is the probable Aviary (that doesn't exist in Sky anymore). As the King knew that the Elders wanted to take him down because he controls the kingdom more than the Elders could (the King was the chosen child as he had passed all the elemental trials and had powers comparable to the Elders when he became King), the King had changed the environment so as to make things difficult for any skytizens (citizens of Sky) who dare cross the gate. He made it to protect himself from any danger and locked himself there. A group of sky children were asked by the Elders to reach out to the King as they were closest to him since they all started together as Sky kids and were friends. They had crossed all the places until they reach to the storm of red rain. The Sky kids forged the lamps to recharge themselves as they cross this storm. However, they failed to step into the King's castle or even touch his heart with their efforts and all die miserably. A curse was placed on them as they had no way to return to the stars (which was still invaded by darkness which explains why there is this cycle of going through Eden mutliple times) and their souls got scattered acoss the kingdom. They are in form of winged lights and lend their power to the player to reach to Eden. The Elders who saw how this failure had no choice to use the four elements' power, join hands together and finally have the power to behead him. They saw that there was no way to save the King who was once an innocent Prince, a sky child who had great honor. The King metamorphosed into the white diamond in the middle of the last stage of Eden where the Prince's soul is trapped inside it, once regaining his composture, on his life, plunged in negative emotions which kept the storm of Eden. The player returns the souls of the lost ones on the statues as a process of freeing them. As the child dies, the player stands up on his feet again to reach out to the child sitting inside the Diamond. This soul looks rather desperate. As we helped him get up, we are accepting him although he had committed bad deeds and hug him as a sign to say he is forgiven. That is how he gives his light power to the Sky child and all the previous Sky kids who died in Eden are free and returns to the star (saddly they fell again because of the darkness pushing them away)
Everytime you re-play Sky you found something new, even the veterans can see new things in this world. Everytime it's feel like home. Whit how I see Sky for my own sperience(¿ It's just a home, people that you meet and that you haven't meet yet are there, waiting for you to come back. When you complete the game, you just need that feeling again. That's why we still come back. That's why I still come back.
I got full body goosebumps! Spoiler: I think a bunch stuff unlocks that wasn't before? There a bunch more spirits with new emotes and different challenges.
haha veteran here, i was so scared until me and my friends started playing games in there (go to the top and fly all the way down/skiing, messing with the krills and laughing when they beat us up, using wind barriers to immediately fly to the top of the first area, rocket launching through the clouds ect) same with wasteland!
Y'all do know that Eden has been dramatic, i mean cmon, we have AURORA to sing for this game and how beautiful the orbit is. Its dramatically beautiful.
I was alone on my first eden, had no clue whatsoever but one kind stranger came and lit my candle(didn't become friends idk why), we went together then i lost sight of him. I was really confused and sad because I thought I lost when I died.
This brings back so many memories of my first Eden, which was with friends I met from Discord lmao. I was only holding their hand, and yet I seem to be the most scared of us. Good times...
I remember back then it was my first time i thought you’ll die and lost everything like cosmetics etc and my friend told me that you’ll die either way and get your stars back lool 😂
This is my first sky friends do, I got kidnapped by her and we always go into the vault without me knowing why, it turns out she want to reach the orbit (I realized it waaayyy later), we died on purpose at the middle of eden's second area (with pipes and patrolling krills, on the pipe with Krebs) and after that we tried to lose our light under forest's rain. I think I finally understood what she meant to do 2-3 months later lol, but she never been online anymore so :')
Eden is my favorite place, if you know what you're doing you can fly through the whole thing (except for the last area), it's a ton of fun and the OOB areas are really pretty. Speaking of the Eye of Eden, there's a lot of lore and theories surrounding the crystal, so anyone interested should totally take a deep dive into that, it's worth it.
@@mmm-ei3yi uhh I don’t have any links, but there are small communities on both Tumblr and Twitter that are invested in it. Just look it up and you’ll find them. There’s also a lore channel in the discord but I think the other options are better
My first Eden... I was terrified, I held my friends noble hand... But she.. She couldn't come with me further.. I was on my own, scared and confused, still.. I knew I needed to die for all who died trying to save the other fallen, their gratitude saved my life, because I saved theirs.
Me too! In fact; I did Eden on my own my first two times in beta, but back then there wasn't obvious notification of giving wings to the statues. Two veterans found out and took me on a full Eden run to show me everything.
One of my good Sky friends brought me through Eden for my first time. He was a shepherd, guiding me through the Hellscape with ease that surprised me. As we got to Winged Lights and Statues, he apologized, saying he couldn't carry me further and I'd have to go alone. However, he stressed one thing. He'd have to go first. I was confused, but I agreed. We went through the area, and he told me to give lights to the statues. I was hesitant, but did so. Soon, he told me to hide. I did, and eventually he appeared again, but as a star following me. He died, and it was my turn. I gave light to as many statues as I could before I died too. We went through rebirth together, holding hands just as we did in Eden. He was and still is such a wonderful person to me, and now that I've been to Eden both alone and shepherding someone of my own, I can't thank him enough. Tim, Moroto, thank you both if you see this.
I literally cried at the ending scene in the eye of Eden when I realized what I was witnessing. The fact that I was witnessing the character essentially dying and rising into the after-life/ a new cycle beginning made me feel a sadness that really hurt. Also, finally some video abt sky!!!!
@@kkplayssky oh man yeah i really hope ur still playing cuz sky isnt a "one playthrough" game or even a game with such a thing as a "playthrough". there is so much more such as seasons and making friends, and thats what sky is really about. sky has no "end" and eden is just another realm.
@@yosdeiselpetrol9496 eden is a crazy place, weekly adventure place. you can play coffin dance with piano; and fly in the ''orbit'' or as kk plays says: "Beautiful Chaos". You can reject reborn and sit a bench with your friend in The Light, then you can give up and reborn...
@@yosdeiselpetrol9496 Yeah but not really interested in playing right now though. But I'll be making one more video on Sky. I hope you'll watch that as well
A veteran adopted me and took me past golden wasteland, i was so surprised about the dark dragon and was really terrified When we finally got past vault then to eye of eden, i really thought that place was something magical and mysterious I assumed that cuz the game looked so pretty..
I think i could never forget my first time in eden. It was a harsh but magical adventure. I was alone, no friends to hold my hand, and completely blind to the challenges ahead, as i dont like spoilers. The first two sections i completed with a couple of fellow moths, sudden friends from the start of eden, as we all climbed together to the end. I got struck by the red stones on the way up, and the falling rocks at the end, but persevered nonetheless. After many treacherous minutes of intense gaming, i reach the end. And the final message struck me like a lightning bolt. The entire game I played with my primordial gamer senses and needs, have fun and, of course, get all the collectibles possible. I explored every nook and cranny i could get into, looking for spirits and winged light, which i called "light babies" Specially the later, as I played Journey before Sky, and Journey left an everlasting change in my life, so the nostalgia was always with me; and the objective stood the same. "I must collect all the light I can", and so i did Suddenly, i read the "return the light to the fallen" I knew what i had to do. I saved as many children as i possibly could, enduring stone after stone "It doesnt matter" i said while playing "you can have my light" up until the final secuence. What a marvelous ending and experience I had And now i go to eden to farm AC evey week lol
Whoa, this is a wonderful retelling of the game. I started playing in november and I didn´t enter Eden until two weeks ago by several reasons: 1) I wanted to go with a lot of winged light (I reached a level of 86 - cape level 8 - before entering Eden) I had been told that the more lights you give, the bigger is the reward. 2) I had been also told that is better to go accompanied. And you aren´t always so lucky to find great companions like that Eyali guy/girl. So I finally got someone to go there, and I got a great reward (I also even got the experience recorded, as my friend was making a tutorial for YT) It was a fantastic experience, quite emotional too. I also got a bit teary-eyed in Orbit and Heaven - aesthetics and music are just plain excellent. Now I´m playing again, recollecting all my lights, meeting new friends and gathering courage to go through Eden one more time. Because next time I will receive more winged light: you can increase your flying power that way and I know people with around 130 winged light power level. I´ve watched all your Sky videos and seeing your reaction has been very nice. I know how hard is to assemble a video like this last one and I appreciate the effort. I hope you may find new exciting games and making more great content to share. Stay well! Greetings from Spain
Hey Irene After reading the comments, I feel like I should've done my research before I jumped into Eden Cause clearly, I had no idea what was going on And the design and music was too good. The design was the only I was drawn into playing the game in the first place And you watched all of the Sky videos? That's great. Appreciate that. Thank you Irene
@@kkplayssky I think it is also OK not to do any research before venturing into the final levels of a game. Your reaction therefore is genuinely authentic and I appreciate those "raw" and heartfelt comments, born from your experience in those moments and your perception of the story. You did a good job figuring things out and putting the story together. Greetings!
@@irene_draws Keep up the hard work! Soon you'll be seasoned and able to help others as your friend helped you. Like me for example, I can hold 166 winged lights. But as you can see, it doesn't come easy. Requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Good luck fellow Skid!
Okay so I never expected this video to get so much love. I'd like to thank the UA-cam algorithm first and then of course all of you who've supported this video. I'm actually on the process of making one last video for Sky - covering my entire experience playing the game. It was something I decided to do after seeing the support on this video. It'll take a week or more to make it, but hopefully, it'll be worth it. Thank you once again EDIT: Video is up on the channel
The first time I went was abt 2 weeks after starting. I had been postponing it bc I was afraid it would be the end of the game, and also bc after seeing the suggestion of not going alone, I thought it meant you needed friends, which I didn’t have yet. However, I had 6 or 7 flaps, and thought I was a real pro, so one day, at 2am, I decided to go. I didn’t know where to go, bc up until that point I had been relying on calling and the game pointing me in the direction, but I found someone who guided me through. I didn’t really understand the purpose of eden, and just tried to get to the end, but after eden, the game just holds so much meaning. You aren’t just getting winged light for yourself, but also for the statues. Personally, I imagine it to be a cycle; you help the people in eden, with the hope that one day when you end up there, someone will also be there to help you pass on. It ads a dark twist to the game, but one filled with hope, because you will be reborn, and in sky, death isn’t the end.
I'm also very very very scared to go to Eden because of the Krills and I don't really have friends. I have a Japanese friend (I only traded hearts with them) who sadly doesn't know English very well. I've been playing for some months but I still didn't go to Eden
@@sonia888 although it’s not ideal, if you try eden, you could follow a more eden-experienced player at first, and some will add you as friends too. Also, even though it’s scary at first, eventually, it gets better, as you become more familiar with it. I would definitely give it a shot, it’s definitely worth the risk. If you need someone to help, lmk, and I can take you:)
@@gracie814 thank you! I finally found a very good friend who guided me through Eden without holding hands! I got 9 ascended candles and the ending was sooo beautiful☺️
To be honest I was upset when I had to give my winged lights to those statues haha, which is why I didn't give any. Anyways, thanks for watching and appreciate the comment
I died with my best friend in Eden and I cried because it was so sweet what she said she said let’s meet in heaven and now our statues are forever in Eden Eden is terrifying
Really loved this video. You made a beautiful observation of this game. Even better that some pro journalists in my opinion. Keep playing games. You are a really great reveiwer. Hope you stay well.
Haha is that so? This was actually my first attempt at making something like this To be honest I was happy with the way it came out, but it did have a few rough edges Glad to know that you liked it as well
Holy shit... I never thought I would find a video of that high quality about Sky. Your storytelling, the way you put the feelings you feel during Eden into words... They are on top. You made this into such an epic story tale, that I felt like I was going through Eden the first time again. You described all these feelings and thoughts that you have when you go there for the first time right, and did it in a very cool and breathtaking manner. Amazing job, I can already see you becoming a big gaming channel. Good luck!
This was actually this first time I did something like this. After I made it, I felt that it was better than I expected it to be Now hearing it come from another person, it feels good. So thank you for watching and thank you for the kind words
Sky has changed me (◡ ω ◡) whenever i crab my phone i aromatically grab it with two hands and ready my thumbs before realizing that im not playing right now
I remembered when i first entered eden and felt like it was so dark, and the sounds scaring me. I didn't know where to go, so i had to honk and see where other players were heading. At the time, I was alone and all the veterans were already up ahead. All I was able to do was follow. Until came the part where there were about 4 krills roaming. In which i immediately stopped. I looked up tutorials for it to continue because of how precious i thought my winged lights were.
I feel like know I should've also done some research before heading into eden. I didn't know that you had to give the winged lights away. And after all the effort of getting them there was no way I was just gonna give them away Anyway, thanks for watching my friend. Appreciate it
@@kkplayssky Lucky for me who wanted to discover the stuff without the tutorial, I had a motto of "oo button press!" Yes I did accidentally put a candle on a bench once or twice not realizing what I doing.
I remember my first time doing eden how my heart would race and I get so damn nervous 🥲 now I run through it like 3 times for no reason 🤣🤣 love how I’ve changed and not scared of it anymore 😌
@Space Lyft When I'm bored, I go to wasteland and try to keep the mante in the first are alive by krilling myself (I use hometrick, of course. but I always lose some winged light) and I also practice flying in eden, for future solo eden runs (but I don't get trough point of no return)
Man, today I met a moth who was struggling to pass through the second part of Eden. I'm really not confident enough to be an Eden Uber, but seeing that player get krilled and losing wings I decided to guide them until the entrance of the cave. At the end, the little one was still confused bc they didn't knew they were supposed to die. They were afraid to go to the death zone and just stood there until they became one with the rock. Anyway, we reborn at the same time, it was fun :D
First time I went to Eden, I was with two new players such as myself- I led them through Eden even though I was very scared. I somehow always think that I should get to the end so my friends can get to the ending with me, but of course we kept getting hitted by rocks alot and caught by Krills, even one of my friends just immediately gave up at the black dragons part but my other friend just had faith in me and would always attempt to find me when we're seperated or wait for me once I was trying to catch up. Then we went to the part where we have to restore the light to the others that had fallen, me and my friend kept getting seperated and I tried looking for them, once I did- they were now a blue floating spirit. I knew they were dead but they kept watching over me until I died, then we were at the ending- both of us were together flying through space or at least how I thought it was space. There was a door which led to another new life, I offered my hand to the friend who was always beside me and they took it- we both walked through the door together, I literally cried because it was so dramatic as if I was watching an anime. It was beautiful.
This is wonderful representation of eden. To players like me who were really invested in the game from the start, eden was just as dramatic as you displayed it to be. Beautiful video and beautiful editing
Video : *Makes eden look serious for once and actually scary* Nobody That one sky kid : *Does hometrick when a krill spots them and then slides through that small crack in the wall to fly past all the obstacles in eden* ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ Jokes aside, i never rlly took eden seriously cuz my mentor taught me a safe route to get past eden, and ya know, experience does smth, eden gave me a whole different vibe in this video, great job in making this video :D
I love the overall purpose of Sky, which is that it rewards selflessness, compassion, courage, and generosity. Eden made me sad from the beginning, and now I'm on my fifth or sixth incarnation. It's still sad, but with every run through Eden I'm able to grow stronger and be of more help to other players. I love guiding others up the mountain, distracting the krill (dark dragons), and relighting other players who are hit by stones and such. Its a really satisfying game once you understand the point of it.
Okay like this you creep me out congrat :) But its all a cycle Rebirth -> Adventuring and collect more Shiny bois --> you go at eden -> and then rebirth and its cycle again and again and forever
Finally.. someone who takes it the same way as I do. I explain and think of it the same way. Eden isn’t just some funny thing. It’s powerful. It’s big. And it’s beautiful. Respect Eden and think about who and what you’re sacrificing for; the ones you love; the ones that have died for YOU to have a beautiful life.. and those who couldn’t be reborn again.. those trapped.. release them and and give your life and light to the universe. Look the Eye in the face and reflect. Feel the pain as powerful as it is. Let yourself suffer so beautifully. This really made me so happy to see someone taking it seriously like I do. Not many people do and I love it❤️ Remember what you stand for, as a Child of Light; you are beautiful and you are meant to be. May the Elders bless you:) -Voki
I got into Sky in July 2024 just before seasons of Duets started. I heard a lot about the game but it really seemed there were things that were better to experience than to have spoiled. Especially what I understood to be everybody's intro to the full world. I got to experience Eden with no previous knowledge, and was incredibly lucky to be able to follow other players making their way through it, but to also get someone willing to wordlessly guide me in one of the most chaotic moments in the game and then see both of us crumble despite our cooperation, and then watch the game open to such beauty, and a new chapter. I love the way this video presents it. Ideally experience it with no previous information, but the tips here to pay attention to other players, will get you unstuck and in no way does this video spoil the most beautiful part that is to follow
Hey welcome to sky. Hope you’re enjoying the game I also went into Eden not exactly knowing what it is. I did hear about it but I didn’t know how it was gonna end up I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I made it a long time back and I’m surprised that people are still watching it haha
This video was amazing... it is exactly the way I experienced Eden. And that is why it's my favourite realm. I think the Golden Wasteland is there to prepare yourself for Eden. And it did a great job. When I entered Golden Wasteland for the first time, I was shocked and I asked myself what happened to this beautiful heartwarming game. And after I passed through the Vault and entered Eden, I felt strangely confident but terrified at the same time. I didn't know what was coming and I didn't expect it either. When I finished Eden for the first time I was so amazed by everything and I was so proud of myself. Eden is definitely one of the best game finals I've ever seen.
I did Eden for the first time and did think it wasn't the big deal... and it wasn't... Maybe because i spent two hours and a half, maybe 3 learning the patern of everything in there... And i thank God for the incredible patiens that he gave to me, because i did it with no hit, bit with hits from the fragments of the storm and except at the final place, "dying" there.
The first time I went into Eden, I begged my veteran friends to come along with me which was an amazing idea because I had no idea what on earth was happening or what to do and my goodness did it scare the hell out of me. The frustration of getting hit by the rocks though
I've always been alone, no matter what game, what universe, what I am... I did stuff alone, Even in Eden..., with no soul in sight to help me, It's not like I didn't want help but... Nobody seemed to want to help me. and by that, on my first journey to Eden, I *soloed.* the WHOLE thing. I had 1-3 friends at the moment but they weren't online, so I had to solo you know... It was tough, but I finally did it.
The first time I went through the Eye of Eden, a trio decided to take me through until the very end where I got separated and I was so scared when the dragons showed up
my first conversation about eden when i was new "do you want me to help you get through the forest?" "sure! how many realms even are there?" "well, theres 5, but theres one last one thats pretty.. scary" "oh? have you been there?" "oh yea, i go there every week" "wait what? i thought you said it was scary??" "well it is, but when you get through it it's beautiful, theres music, lights" "is it worth it?" "yea:)"
I watched your video from beginning to end. I've played Sky for almost a year now. And I've got to say, the way you exquisitely explained your first plight through the Eye of Eden brought back vivid memories of my very first experience which I had all but forgotten. Your detail and carefully chosen vocabulary really helped this video pop and resonate. Thank you for all your hard work; much appreciated. The nostalgia is immense! It makes me want to camp out by the main entrance door with the 5 light up posts to seek out new players to help guide them so they do not feel so threatened and terrified. Can't wait to see more from you!
Appreciate that Well, one more video is on the way for Sky. It'll take more than a week though but I think it'll be worth it. Hopefully, you'll enjoy that one as well Thanks again
i have been playing this game for over a year now. during that year i’ve gone every sunday to eden, which normalized the experience of going to eden for me. now your video brought me back all these feelings i had the first time i went there. very good work
I did Eye of Eden three days after starting playing and I was really scared. Lucky for me, a veteran saw me an another moth and helped us. After, we died together, and I felt so bad that I made him lost all his wings and I thought he would hate me, so I keep giving him hearts daily. I'm so grateful, I was almost crying from fear when I was going solo.
Eden was my favorite place. It is where i usually go and help people charge their wings or guide some moths (new players). I honestly dont like the darkness and the rocks and the strong winds but all i can tell is everything is worthit especially at the end where u can sit and watch millions of stars (it is so much better when you have friend/s to sit with u there and just stare at the stars) Thank you so much for this video
This is a theory from my opinion: skykids bring ancestor spirits to the heaven by devoting your life and then rebirth with the wings which are the spirits blessing to come back to the sky world and continue bring other spirit to their home
this video is beautifully done! i remember my first time through eden vividly. i was a moth in the season of the little prince [spoilers for those season tasks btw] throughout the season you can hang out with the prince and explore different areas in the various realms with him. i was mostly a solo player back then, i only had one friend and they stopped logging in after a while, so it was so nice going through the game with a friend. for the very last quest in the season, you have to go through eden with the prince and say goodbye to this friend that you've spent so much time with. it had a really strong effect on me, and now even though eden is more of a chore at this point, i still get emotional every time.
This may be a long comment, apologies fo the length: I went to Eden for the first time and when I got to the final area in tatters, I was chirping like mad while being pummelled by the red rocky rain. I felt bad for the other players that had to hear a moth more like screaming while chirping. Since then I got better at moving through Eden but the dark dragons would still be a hazard I must be careful around. I enjoyed your video and found your voice interesting to listen to. It is not boring, though I wondered why you went over the wind and rocks topic twice. It could be when you recorded you did it twice over and included both? In any case, I did not know the areas had names too. I would love to hear what the other areas called by the devs and how they came up with their ideas and influences used. I noticed there are statues in the final area, not just the little ones but the BIG one that looks like an elder! I don't know for sure, but it could be the fabled corrupted prince the devs had reference outside the game. Of all the elders we meet, the one in Eden is never seen in person. There is an image of him in the final cutscene in Vault of Knowledge, there are giant statues both in Eden, crumbling away, and on route to orbit. Also, this may no longer count as part of the lore, in early version of the game, the lore suggested the sky kids we play are children of darkness. we interacted with spirits to gain our identity and try to make it to a safe point at the end of Eden (similar to the Eden of today before you reach the final area) before you can lock in what cosmetics would not be lost the next time you go to Eden. Also, very early on in the game, there were spirit creatures that would guide you through the game like an owl or bird (I can't remember), a turtle, an eel etc. I don't know when they got changed out though I was not part of the game all the way back then though wish I was. Lastly, Eden is a scary place for any first-timer and one that breaks what we players learned about playing games. The game teaches us that everything is not permanent, everything does not last forever and what the game especially focuses on is the bonds you develop with a fellow player are precious and like a candle flame. Some will burn out sooner than you expect, others are blown out early and some are kept safe and shed light in a world of darkness. I love the game. I love how the developers approach games as if it is an artwork. It tells a story with you in it, your choices are guided and woven into the lore of the world. The story has layers to it and I am not even sure if half of the narratives we sky players draw from the game are the intended or original narratives the devs designed! They rarely tell us what the true interpretation of the narrative is and it is a good thing because sometimes, it is nice to not know everything and not spoil the mystery and magic.
Hey thanks for commenting Regarding the 'wind and rocks' topic. It wasn't recorded twice or anything. It was intentional, although I don't remember what it was (I made this video a few months ago) I don't really know too much about Sky apart from the little research I did for making this video. So, it's basically through comments like this that I learn more about the game Appreciate you taking the time
@@kkplayssky no probelm. You analyses gave me more info about the game and a fresh perspective of the lore. If you want to read more about the lore, I'll give links to an artist, TomZhao, that did the concept art of the game. He even left notes on some images that gave great insight to what inspiration they were drawing from, which helped explain things like why the colour orange was important, why were the elders animalistic in the very early versions of the game etc. Another good place to read about the lore is the ThatGameCompany Twitter page. They had these 7-day posts about each realm, except for Eden as far as I can see. Either way, I hope you are having an awesome day and thank you for taking the time to read the comment. :)
wasteland was the most horrifying experience for me than eden because of the eerie sounds :< plus, when i first went to eden (on my first day at sky at that) my first thought was "what happened to this place and how did this happen? i smell heavy lore here" and since i was preoccupied with the question and making up my own theories, i couldn't pay attention to the impending sense of doom haha
My introduction with That Game Company stretched back to Flow, Flower, and Journey in 2017 or so. Now that, Journey, is the direct predecessor of Sky. I’d recommend everyone to give it a go. That game, Journey, changed my life and Sky is the perfect conclusion to their natural progression as a game studio. 10/10 for this video’s essay on Eye of Eden, Impressive.
I remember my very first time starting Eden. I had heard nothing about Eden before, so I didn’t know what to think of it. I went in there and got knocked over by several boulders. A friend who I had met there had brought me up to near the tunnel with the many wings, then left. I somehow managed to get to the tunnel without losing more lights, at that time it was 1 am. I decided to cross the point of no return, thinking that it couldn’t be that bad. I was quickly proven wrong, when I realized that the red rock rain chipped away my winged lights one by one. I panicked and decided to turn in for the night, thinking that I’d spawn at home anyway, safe. Well, I spawned home, and Eden called me home. I couldn’t access any portals other than the home screen, it was dark and gloomy, the only light coming occasionally as lightning from the storm around Eden. I had no idea how to do this. I didn’t know that the point was to literally die in Eden, so I ended up having to uninstall the game without having ever completed Eden. On my new account, I met new people, and successfully managed to complete Eden with a friend who carefully told me which statues I missed, who rushed ahead to light the statues so I’d have a safer journey and reassuring me that it’d be over very soon. It was thanks to him that I managed to conquer Eden and unlock new accessories for the first time ever.
I personally know that it's confusing when you first enter the last part of Eden so when my group of random moffs enters, I'll just stand on a statue and kinda hint to them so they get the point lol
This game for me is one of the best of this decade! When I first played it, it was an EXPERIENCE! Quiet honestly, I didn’t expect much of it, I thought that overtime, I would get bored of it and stop playing it, but I never did. For the first time playing I was really enjoying it, the peaceful and beautiful environments, not knowing at all how hard my experience would change, but also asking myself where were the challenges? It couldn’t be possible that this game was so easy! As soon as I entered the desert, I knew that I was right! Something was definitely missing and I understood it. The desert make me feel uncomfortable and anxious, about the whole environment and the krill itself. To be honest, I didn’t even know what I was actually doing, I just wanted to get to the end of the game and see how it would end, and I didn’t regret it! As soon as I started giving my wings away, I understood that it was important to sacrifice myself, to safe those who got consumed by darkness. I was really scared and shaking, but then at the end it became peaceful and quiet, a really weird emotion! Because I always get this feeling, that the game feels really, lonely? Even with my friends and thousands of other players, if you think about it, the only thing that lives in this world, is you and this same world is only marked with ancient ruins, telling old stories of how the spirits fell, and are all dead, and there is nothing you can do about it. It’s just you and a dead leftover society. So as soon I started Eden, and as soon as I gave all my wings and was getting closer to “the end”, the heartbeat and my tiredness made me cry, intensely. I didn’t understand at first why, not even now I understand completely! But I am damn sure is that this game should be played by everyone, it’s definitely worth its story, graphics, gameplay, so overall this game is an experience and will make you quietly question yourself and the whole point and message of this game!
The first time i went to Eden, a year ago, when i first joined, I met a wonderful person on the way up. They helped me, they looked me through the obstacles, but they could tell i was still a moth and had not been there before. He did not tell me that dying in eden is a good thing, but told me he was sorry for me. I went through, scared for my poor little sky kid life, but eventually made it through. I have never seen the person again, though I remember them well and appreciate them for helping me up the way. It's one of my earliest memories of sky 😊
I am a newbie and today was my first day at eden and before entering i saw messages like , see you at reincarnation 😭😭 and i died later on at last stage
I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this game. What happened the first time I went to Eden will stay with me forever, it’s a core memory for sure. From the way someone grabbed my hand to try and go against the wind together and everyone else waited for us to succeed, to when I stood on top of the mountain purposely being targeted by the Krills so that people could climb up safely, to when I watched people giving their all to help each other and fail, to watching the last person of our group fall, to seeing them again in orbit, to being reborn with someone whose name I didn’t know. To finding a friend back Home, not knowing what to do next. This game is extraordinary.
I personally think they should add more creepiness to Eden. Not by adding more krills or dark water, but by making it feel more real. I think adding small details, just like the heartbeat you hear in the background. In journey, the atmosphere feels so real; the guardians are almighty and you're powerless against them. Their design, quirks and purpose added to the feeling of emptiness, abandoned places and difficulty is incredible. While in Sky, krills are more of an annoyance than a source of fear over time, the flying rocks are just an obstacle; it also feels very lively, the spirits serm to control their environment so easily. Maybe TGC could try making it more immersing, but it's just my opinion :]
This was such a beautiful story, and it truely shows the meaning of the game. It is what makes it beautiful, and the fact that we are willing to die in honor for our fallen bretheren is just amazing. I loved your story kk, made me kind of cry.
I think another beauty of Eden, like most of sky, is the interaction with other players. I used to go to Eden daily to practice speedrunning it, and mainly to help spooked moths(new players). More often than not, I'd often wait for the others and honk at them repeatedly to show them where to go. It's a pleasant experience, aside from the little heart attacks I get when any of us get spotted by a krill or fall off
Yup the community is also a big part of the game It's one of the reasons I like Sky. The people playing the game are also really nice Thanks for watching
I literally thought this game was singleplayer and thought all the players beside me ( which I didn't friend yet) were npcs lol. And when I found out they were actually irl players I was like "whattt" made my first friend and named him Ukzuru. A while later when I finally got my first 20 winged lights I just straight up went to eden thinking it was just some normal quest and that I would come back Aivary Village the normal way, with no friends beside me, just me, myself and I. Yes along the way I did find some people, however I still continued alone. I just realised this now but I think I clutched and spedrun everything, as I manged to avoid (or not even pay attention to) the krills, only the wind and rocks lmao. When reaching the final part where you give your winged light back, I just went weee with everything, but midway I actually researched on how to do this and found out I was going to die anyway, I tried to give out as many wl as I can but only manged to give out like 16 wl. Bro I never realised how hard it was supposed to be lfmaoo, now I'm jus grinding-chilling (also was this game supposed to be played with friends or?)
Also, once you conquered Eden a few more times, you realize you are becoming stronger, with each reincarnation you are reborn with more and more wing lights as you help spirits you met in your journey ascend to the next level. and the more winged lights you have, the more fallen you can give your lights to and go further and further into eden :)
Dude, this sure sounds dramatic and it really helps! I don't think anyone will explain this to anyone. Thank you very much for this video. I'll pass it on to some of my friends!🌌💕🌟
Before I went through Eden the first time, I researched first, because I planned to go through it with my mum, who got me into the game in the first place. I actually went with her while she played on my second account, because she was scared of losing her winged light, and we succeeded, with me getting a total of 5 ascended candles, and her, four. I went through Eden again, but this time alone, the next day (Sunday). And this time, I went with a few moths and even befriended one of them (I called them moth of Eden), and I lead them through the entire Eden succeessfully. For me it was hilarious, because I was so new to the game as well, how quickly I became the one to lead 3 moths up the mountain. I got 10 candles this time, and I think the moths I helped got at least 5 or 6 as well. My mum still hasn’t went through Eden on her main account, but we are planning on going this Sunday after the reset. I have a good 80 winged light (not including the 11 lights in Eden itself) and mum has about 50, so hopefully we’ll be able to get a load of candles. Thank you for reading my huge comment ^-^
I went go to eden every sunday and did all i needed to do to make it through the point of no return but i have a ton of bad luck when i go past the point of no return
Honestly, for now, I have completed Eden only once but the line at the near start, “You’ll know when you get there” was my first words when I was talking to my friend who I brought onto Sky to play with me and was asking me about the end of this game. I’m guiding her through all the realms, trying to stop her from doing stupid things, such as staying in the rain for too long.
My biggest flex is that I completed Eden in one go solo and was the 3rd closest to the heart of Eden after 2 years I don't wanna go again cause I've spent years collecting light wings
I conquered Eden today but I'm pretty sad cuz I don't have my six stars again on my Cape and it restarted till 1 star😢 I think that was worth it just the sacrifice myself and get my new life AKA my actual Journey and now I need to get all that winged light again😢
Nice 😁and now I got 4 stars by the way I made a new friend in Eden yesterday they also kind of helped me in the final stage winged light and statues and krills and Battlefield but I died quickly before my friend died but then in the final flight scene I was with her I remember her name it was Yabo❤ also I'm on my way to my 5th wing
I was too nervous to go to Eden only to not follow anyone because I’d be too confident, So I asked someone to walk me through the entire thing and they did! I am so grateful, they showed me what I have to go through with my friend… PAIN
The game Sky is all about " giving " and not expecting anything in return. Hence why you give your time for running for candles. Giving candles to friends. And giving light to those who have fallen.
It's all about sacrifice.
*I personally LOVE sky*
very true . this is such an underrated comment
You get dem joocy candles though-
Me going to Eden expect getting candles and candles run for candles to buy stuff: Oosp was I supposed to do that-

When I first came to eden (with some friends and siblings) I was scared and shaking. When I dead at the end I was tearing up of the ending

LMAO why can I imagine me doing that-
I can’t stop laughing-
This is my first sky friends do, I got kidnapped by her and we always go into the vault without me knowing why, it turns out she want to reach the orbit (I realized it waaayyy later), we died on purpose at the middle of eden's second area (with pipes and patrolling krills, on the pipe with Krebs) and after that we tried to lose our light under forest's rain.
Can i have links for the lore please?

“Eden hates those who think they can win alone" man I literally did it with my first attempt lmao
I agree
That was too good. When I played the game, I actually wanted to stop after the death part, but the rebirth was too good

When we finally got past vault then to eye of eden, i really thought that place was something magical and mysterious
I assumed that cuz the game looked so pretty..
“see you on the other side”
“oh bojack there is no other side, this is it”
tgc: HA! now you are being reborn
I explored every nook and cranny i could get into, looking for spirits and winged light, which i called "light babies"
Specially the later, as I played Journey before Sky, and Journey left an everlasting change in my life, so the nostalgia was always with me; and the objective stood the same. "I must collect all the light I can", and so i did
Suddenly, i read the "return the light to the fallen"
I knew what i had to do.
I saved as many children as i possibly could, enduring stone after stone
"It doesnt matter" i said while playing "you can have my light" up until the final secuence.
What a marvelous ending and experience I had
And now i go to eden to farm AC evey week lol
Whoa, this is a wonderful retelling of the game. I started playing in november and I didn´t enter Eden until two weeks ago by several reasons:
1) I wanted to go with a lot of winged light (I reached a level of 86 - cape level 8 - before entering Eden) I had been told that the more lights you give, the bigger is the reward.
Hey Irene
After reading the comments, I feel like I should've done my research before I jumped into Eden
Cause clearly, I had no idea what was going on
And the design and music was too good. The design was the only I was drawn into playing the game in the first place
And you watched all of the Sky videos? That's great. Appreciate that. Thank you Irene
@@kkplayssky I think it is also OK not to do any research before venturing into the final levels of a game. Your reaction therefore is genuinely authentic and I appreciate those "raw" and heartfelt comments, born from your experience in those moments and your perception of the story. @@irene_draws Keep up the hard work! Soon you'll be seasoned and able to help others as your friend helped you. Like me for example, I can hold 166 winged lights. But as you can see, it doesn't come easy. Requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Good luck fellow Skid!

Credit to the creators of the game. They did a fantastic job
Thanks for watching
This is wonderful representation of eden. To players like me who were really invested in the game from the start, eden was just as dramatic as you displayed it to be. Beautiful video and beautiful editing
Glad to hear that
Thank you very much
I'm planning one last video for sky. Hopefully, that'll be really good
@@kkplayssky can't wait to see it!
Video : *Makes eden look serious for once and actually scary*
Nobody
That one sky kid : *Does hometrick when a krill spots them and then slides through that small crack in the wall to fly past all the obstacles in eden* ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Jokes aside, i never rlly took eden seriously cuz my mentor taught me a safe route to get past eden, and ya know, experience does smth, eden gave me a whole different vibe in this video, great job in making this video :D
Appreciate it. Thank you
I love the overall purpose of Sky, which is that it rewards selflessness, compassion, courage, and generosity.
Okay like this you creep me out congrat :)
But its all a cycle
Rebirth -> Adventuring and collect more Shiny bois --> you go at eden -> and then rebirth and its cycle again and again and forever
Yes. I didn't know it back then
Thanks for watching
AND
With more sacrifices
FANCY OUTFITS WOOOO
Finally.. someone who takes it the same way as I do.
Not many people do and I love it❤️
Remember what you stand for, as a Child of Light; you are beautiful and you are meant to be.
May the Elders bless you:)

@@kkplayssky You’re very welcome:) ❤️
Hope you’re enjoying the game
I also went into Eden not exactly knowing what it is. I did hear about it but I didn’t know how it was gonna end up
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I made it a long time back and I’m surprised that people are still watching it haha
I have done so many Eden runs alone and I can tell you, having a teammate certainly makes it easy unless you wish to go your own tempo
You've mimicked my thoughts my exactly
Thanks for watching
I like how you said that the vault is teasing you, it’s a good way to say it
I did Eden for the first time and did think it wasn't the big deal... and it wasn't...
When I first went to Eden..I was not expecting it to be that intense. I was lucky enough to have someone there with me and guide me.

Unironically, Eden is my favorite place
I've always been alone, no matter what game, what universe, what I am... I did stuff alone, Even in Eden..., with no soul in sight to help me, It's not like I didn't want help but... Nobody seemed to want to help me. and by that, on my first journey to Eden, I *soloed.* the WHOLE thing. I had 1-3 friends at the moment but they weren't online, so I had to solo you know... It was tough, but I finally did it.
Me when I saw the title: *How is Eden beautiful* after overthinking: *Nvm it's breathtaking*
Haha thanks for watching
The first time I went through the Eye of Eden, a trio decided to take me through until the very end where I got separated and I was so scared when the dragons showed up

my first conversation about eden when i was new
"do you want me to help you get through the forest?"
"sure! how many realms even are there?"
"well, theres 5, but theres one last one thats pretty.. scary"
"oh? have you been there?"
"oh yea, i go there every week"
"wait what? i thought you said it was scary??"
"well it is, but when you get through it it's beautiful, theres music, lights"
"is it worth it?"
"yea:)"

Him:. Dark dragons
Others: krills
Me: black shrimp
Eden was my favorite place. It is where i usually go and help people charge their wings or guide some moths (new players). I honestly dont like the darkness and the rocks and the strong winds but all i can tell is everything is worthit especially at the end where u can sit and watch millions of stars (it is so much better when you have friend/s to sit with u there and just stare at the stars) Thank you so much for this video
The ending of sky is just too good. Kudos to the creators for that

Glad this got recommended to me. It was entertaining.

When you‘ve played Journey before Sky and finally get to go to Eden:
Aw not this shit again
I was alone when I did eden for the first time I friended someone just to open the 2 person door in valley at that time :')
This may be a long comment, apologies fo the length:
I went to Eden for the first time and when I got to the final area in tatters, I was chirping like mad while being pummelled by the red rocky rain.
Hey thanks for commenting
Regarding the 'wind and rocks' topic. It wasn't recorded twice or anything. It was intentional, although I don't remember what it was (I made this video a few months ago)
I don't really know too much about Sky apart from the little research I did for making this video. So, it's basically through comments like this that I learn more about the game
Appreciate you taking the time
@@kkplayssky no probelm.
Lol a little moth I hear people call some others that
wasteland was the most horrifying experience for me than eden because of the eerie sounds :< plus, when i first went to eden (on my first day at sky at that) my first thought was "what happened to this place and how did this happen? i smell heavy lore here" and since i was preoccupied with the question and making up my own theories, i couldn't pay attention to the impending sense of doom haha

This game is so good, makes me cry.
"You came all this way to die."
*Well, yes, but actually no*
Haha yeah
I personally know that it's confusing when you first enter the last part of Eden so when my group of random moffs enters, I'll just stand on a statue and kinda hint to them so they get the point lol
A veteran flew me through the point of no return in under 2 minutes my first run lmao. They also helped me out with the statues afterward
Damn
@@kkplayssky Yee, I was extremely lucky
"Experience" is indeed the right word for Sky
And thanks for the comment. I appreciate it
Final zone is more commonly refered to as Stormlock in my experience
The first time i went to Eden, a year ago, when i first joined, I met a wonderful person on the way up. They helped me, they looked me through the obstacles, but they could tell i was still a moth and had not been there before.
He did not tell me that dying in eden is a good thing, but told me he was sorry for me. I went through, scared for my poor little sky kid life, but eventually made it through.
I have never seen the person again, though I remember them well and appreciate them for helping me up the way.
It's one of my earliest memories of sky 😊
Das war wunderschön, du verdienst den größten Respekt für dieses großartige Video. ^_^
This has motivated me to re-enter Eden but I’m so afraid of Krill 😭
HAHAHAHA I'll be chilling in Eden with my Pet Krills
This was such a beautiful story, and it truely shows the meaning of the game. It is what makes it beautiful, and the fact that we are willing to die in honor for our fallen bretheren is just amazing. I loved your story kk, made me kind of cry.
Thanks a lot Angel. Appreciate it
Hopefully the next one will make you cry even more haha
@@kkplayssky lol. It really makes you realize what sky is and how it affects your emotions
I think another beauty of Eden, like most of sky, is the interaction with other players. I used to go to Eden daily to practice speedrunning it, and mainly to help spooked moths(new players). More often than not, I'd often wait for the others and honk at them repeatedly to show them where to go. It's a pleasant experience, aside from the little heart attacks I get when any of us get spotted by a krill or fall off
Yup the community is also a big part of the game
It's one of the reasons I like Sky. The people playing the game are also really nice
Thanks for watching
usually, i just go to eden for ascended candles, but after i saw this video, i appreciated the hidden beauty of this realm.
*"There has to be a reward for conquering Eden, right? Surely, there must be one!"*
Ehem, let me introduce to you...
The sweet release of death .
Haha fair enough
Bro I never realised how hard it was supposed to be lfmaoo, now I'm jus grinding-chilling
(also was this game supposed to be played with friends or?)
Yes it is mean to be played with friends. It’s possible to play solo (I did for a long time) but it’s easier to play with friends.
Thanks a lot my friend
“You’ll know when you get there” is what one of the players told me as well when I asked him what Eden was
Anyway, thanks for watching
“eden-
beautiful but dangerous “
My biggest flex is that I completed Eden in one go solo and was the 3rd closest to the heart of Eden after 2 years I don't wanna go again cause I've spent years collecting light wings
Sky in a nuthshell❤
I conquered Eden today but I'm pretty sad cuz I don't have my six stars again on my Cape and it restarted till 1 star😢
I think that was worth it just the sacrifice myself and get my new life AKA my actual Journey and now I need to get all that winged light again😢
Yup that’s the same stage where I was a few days back. Now I’ve collected those winged lights again
