Elden Ring, but I'm the Nerevarine (and also I'm bad)

This can't be real, the Nerevarine is an Argonian.
Oh damn, he actually mentions that. I feel stupid now.
Bah! A lizard? The Neravarine keeps lizards for pets! 😊
Boa tarde!

Easy, dragon communion
Dunmer can inherently summon their ancestor spirits in battle. Spirit summons would make sense.
That's a great idea
Was just about to say the same thing myself!
Right plus dark elves are good with conjuration… I was thinking about doing a Naravarine build and first thing I thought was “flame incantations for destruction magic and spirit summons for conjouration” I had no idea what to do for the weapon though, so this video helped immensely in that department.
My brain autofilled the title and I was confused because "Of COURSE you can beat Morrowind as the Nerevari-" and then it caught up.
Even if the answer would be of course you could I wouldn't mind a lore accurate nevar run or playthrough from JBN or his take on one if there is one out already... cause honestly his morrowind videos are top tier so if JBN sees this comment all I have to say is in the words of emperor Palpatine "dew it"
Same
Yeah same lol
Anyone who asks you to justify "I'm sick of Caelid" is not your friend
The godsdamned crows are infuriating
@@jungtothehuimang If there were half as many crows and dogs it'd be a good area. As it is exploring Caelid kinda sucks.
@@ratman262 dragons too. I feel like there are just way too many dragons there and it makes the other boss dragons feel less special somehow. I think outside of Radahn there is really nothing in Caelid I genuinely enjoy. It's as you said, just an annoyance to even search for caves or loot there.
@@ratman262 Man, every motherfuckin area in this motherfuckin game sucks to explore. Randomly finding that elevator that goes down to Nokron was pretty neat, but nearly everything else about it eventually makes me realize I just suck at it and then I subsequently wish random fatal brain aneurysms upon anyone and everyone involved in making this fuckin game. I wish I hadn't played it so much because there's parts that I really like about it, but not enough to pick it back up again.
@@notinspectorgadget I dunno, I find exploration fun. Caelid sucks though.
Welcome Moon-and-Star
Come to me through fire and war
Come, Nerevar
Come and look upon the heart
Lay down your weapons
It is not too late for my mercy

How can you kill a god?
What a grand and intoxicating innocence
I'm a god
How can you kill a god?
Shame on you, sweet Nerevar

My favorite lyrics.
And not a single instance of sneaking was used. You truly did honor the Golden House and the Ring unmourned
the crossover I always needed
not only are you maidenless....youre a damn N'wah. what a grand and intoxicating innocence
The whetblades have abstract god power hammered into them and let you cut up the memories of old warriors and use your willpower to briefly manifest their powers. Tonal architect stuff.
Walk like them until they must walk like you and all that
Another good weapon to use for a Nerevarine build would be the Monk's Flameblade, it even has flame in its name. Only issue with it is that it's a random drop from an enemy that appears near the end of the game unfortunately, looks really close to Trueflame though!
11 minutes in and really looking forward to JBN never finding out that flaming strike has an R2 followup that makes it an S-rank ash
(An R2 followup which is also thematic to Trueflame)
Yeah...
@@JustBackgroundNoise Make sure to always check every ash of war to see if it has a follow up
To be fair, I _knew_ Flaming Strike was a weapon buff ash, and for a moment I thought I'd been scammed. I had to look up how to actually apply the buff.
It really is a good ash. It doesn't come out as fast as Catch Flame, sadly, but it does cover a wider arc and it's super cheap. Something interesting to note is that Fire ashes scale with STR, and so do more damage with a Heavy affinity than Fire. Ditto for Lightning ashes on a Keen affinity. That said, the weapon buff will perform better on a matching affinity.
@@Greywander87 if you make something heavy/keen, it doesn't add the elemental damage and instead just bumps the STR/DEX scaling up. the elemental damage is only dealt when its affinity is set as Fire/Flame Art/Lightning, and then it scales off of STR/FAI/DEX respectively. the heavy and keen affinities do more damage because split damage is almost always lower than pure phys
As someone who doesn't know ANYTHING about Elden Ring. . . I sense this is going to be a great introduction.
Welcome to the lands between. We have swamps.
I think it is funny how often I saw an ER or DS3 challenge runs where the guy doing the run finds out half way through the game that the move that they used the entire game so far had a follow up
I think this was the real dream the nereverine had on the boat
"because you were a dark elf the last 8 fucking times"
See the way I take it, nothing is canon except the smallest sharpest blade imbued with the power of a thousand mountains held by a half crippled old man flying around.
man you're such an insanely good content creator. I love watching you while eating, so damn comfy
Yes his lovely tone helps me through many a movement 😂
@@goreobsessed2308 ...It's a 50 minute video, how long does it usually take you?!
@@johnnywakeup5515there's always gotta be someone pointlessly arguing about nothing
@@TheTuttle99 Is joking, lighten up, maybe laxatives?
2:00 "Nerevar has been known to use an axe" - Hopefully people look it up and get more into the lore. The stories very much remind me of Chinese Wuxia where they just do increasingly badass and insane shit for no reason but to style on fools. 'Ethos Knife', 'Sword not Held', just a random ass axe that no-one knows the name of, fucking awesome.
I mentioned him using an axe in your poll. 36 Lessons of Vivec, Sermon Sixteen is where it's mentioned.
My recommendation for your next video: a Dunmer civilisation in Stellaris, led by the Nerevarine.
That's an amazing idea, intergalactic dunmer... Maybe trying to find the Dwemer?
lets see radical spiritualists, and xenophobic perfect!!!
@@fahadalghamdi9316>implying that a dunmer could ever be afraid of the filthy xenos scum
What grand and intoxicating innocence.
Elden Ring? The Lands Between? This looks like Akavir for me.
There're some snake men up north. Could be Tsaesci. You also get yourself a steel daikatana at some point. Daikatanas are what inspired the blades' signature armaments.
Hmm, some of the "misbegotten" could be tang mo and ka po tun.
I really like your commentary, it's obvious that you are more educated than the average youtuber, but not in an obnoxious way.
Damn, this Morrowind mod looks amazing!
you got an excellent voice for these videos, sir - i've never even played morrowind and i'm watching everything you've put out
Real
Varre doesnt cut off your finger, he injects it with (probably) mohgs blood. A common misconception about his quest!
"Glistening blood has been siphoned into the nail of this finger. Its sickly pale skin feels nothing now, but the nail still aches with sweetest pain."
Honestly TrueFlame looks closer to the Firemonk Curvedsword but goodluck getting that to drop
I have over a thousand hours in the game. I have ONE.
running around as a dunmer in her underwear swinging a club is such an elder scrolls thing to do lmao
No horses in Morrowind, my immersion is shattered.
Those darn Mongrel Imperial Dogs (TM) imported horses to VVardenfell.
this is great, love to see u do more stuff than just morrowind to the same quality while still linking the two.
Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the Gate:
"To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods."
Ah yes fort forgoth where thy will find the ingraved ring of healing
I didn’t realize that giants could crack open the statues, it’s pretty clear that there’s something good inside but I never thought to use enemies to help!!
This was a thing in Dark Souls II too
Five minutes in and there’s an error. It’s not the Green Turtle Talisman, turtles don’t exist. There is however a Green Dog Talisman.
cavern of the incarnate gotta be crowded af after this one
This is the type of crossover I never knew I needed
My dude are you really complaining about the boss runback to Rada-beast? Dude. That run is a fucking blessing compared to half the shit in the old souls games. I break out in a hot sweat and PTSD flashbacks when I even hear the name "Frigid Outskirts."
pulling out your teeth one-by-one with rusty pliers might not be as agonizing as going on a guided tour of the queen's torture chamber, but that don't make it any more of a pleasant experience
Dark Souls 2 was the KING of absurd run-backs. There's a reason I haven't revisited it. Several, actually. But that's one of them.
as sb who doesn't know anything about morrowind but has 600+ hours in er: this is accurate
This was peak, I have to commend you especially on your editing during the radagon fight. Great job
stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago. really enjoyed the Morrowind content.. BUT Elden Ring is my favorite game, so i was rather delighted to see you do a vid on it.
feyd rautha is posting again yay
I was internally screaming the whole time you didn't use the second part of Flaming Strike. 😅
I was so relieved after the aknowledgement.
As per usual, great video, great premise, and great commentary. Can’t wait for the next video and to see this channel blow up even more and bring life back into morrowind
Really enjoy these videos man, I really look forward to your uploads!
Great editing. You and Lemon of The Backlogs are of equal dork when playing Souls games. One might even argue he's the bigger dork. It's that knack for roleplaying.
My first time ever playing a Dark Souls game, was Dark Souls Two. First death was me rolling off of a little platform
This right here is gold I loved it thank you been watching your content but this scratched an itch I didn’t even know I had thank you.
if you kill that guy at the castle you miss out on the opportunity to get one of the max level smithing stone things
Great to see elden ring on your channel! Hope to see more of it in the future
Oh my lord this video was the perfect synthesis of my interests. Rad idea! Super great video as always!
I've been greatly enjoying your coverage of Morrowind recently as I coincidentally replayed it myself for the nostalgia after many years away just before finding your Elder Scrolls videos, but I found I enjoy your content in general so it's cool to see you branching out to other games. Hope you have fun doing these and it isn't just a grind, because I'd like to see more as long as you are having a good time making them.
This has become one of my favorite channels. Keep up the good work, mane
Your channel, your videos, your narrations and ideas is the definition of entertainment.
Really good stuff, keep it coming my friend!
Great crossover! I've barely played ER, but this was entertaining to watch :)
I love your Content. It´s really the perfect Background Noise. XD
I commend your efforts with all of the bosses and thank you for helping me with entertainment when I'm sick at home
It took me long enough and i am currently half asleep after work, but hear me out...
You enter the Arena of Radagon. Suddenly every bit of music changes and Paranoid from Black Sabbath starts playing and then Radagon... starts to speak to you.
Radagon of the Golden Order: "WELCOME TO ELDEN RING GENTLEMAN! I WILL NOT LIE, THE CHANCES OF YOUR SURVIVAL ARE SMOL!"
...I think i may have played too much Cheese Wizard of the Empire campaign in TW: Warhammer recently...
This was a really great video, watched the whole thing through
Nerevar Rising will always be my favorite TES track and one of my favorites in gaming alltogether.
Oh man, I would never miss a JBN Elden Ring video. Great video idea as always!
turtle pope? dude thats clearly a dog
Bro, you make really good videos, thank you a lot for your work. Really, thank you very much, your videos make my day.
One more banger video for the comfy sleep playlist I have of your videos, thank you kindly
I always look forward to when you post a video. Also make the day better
before i started watching your videos i was an elden ring guru, i only watched elden ring/dark souls stuff, then i got really into morrowind and started binging ur videos. so yeah, u could say this is the best day of my life watching this video
Splendid video. Azura’s guidance and perseverance flows through her worthy vessel indeed!
This is not the crossover we were expecting but the crossover we all needed. Great video man
The tarnished arriving in roundtable hold, “Yall n’wahs ever try skooma?”
Thanks for the wondeful video and also for finally putting the final nail in my coffin for elden ring a bwutiful game ill never beat (cause the elden beast almost made my brain explode from the amount of bright pixels) xD
Seeing how much you persevered has made me reconsider attempting to beat Elden Ring.
I absolutely loved the quote you made about the blasphemous blade
great channel
Never played Elden Ring. Not from not being interested, just doesn't feel like *my* kind of jam. But, the lore is interesting and the world is intriguing. Was nice watching you tackle it. Hope you do more, fun seeing you branch out from Morrowind and Runescape!
Also, LOVED the montage of deaths towards the end. Awesome music choice and great editing.
YES i have became addicted to watching all your videos
15:47 - "A frost incantation would be awesome, but frost magic is sorcery in Elden Ring, intelligence based, and we ain't that smart, so no frost for sweet Nerevar."
Frozen Lightning Spear my dude. Faith only incantation that does frost buildup. Can even roleplay it's a custom destruction spell.
Not to mention the ice dragon breaths, though I could see why even those might not be included.
Love your videos!
incredible concept I love this ♡♡
You do the weirdest stuff.
Really appreciate it
31:00 The snowman looking enemies are called Oracle Envoys. Their drops are pretty unremarkable, they can drop the horn they carry, or a crafting material that can be made into a consumable that boosts immunity.
I love these longer videos
At least there were no cliff racers. love the videos!
oh hell yeah, 2 of my favourite youtubers uploading on the same day?? beautiful
I would absolutely love to see more vids like these lol these are great, 🤔 wonder what other games you could do something like this in? Dragon's Dogma 2 maybe, but not sure if the price point for the game itself would be worth a video or two.
Edit: Nerevarine would absolutely be a Mystic Spearhand or Warfarer vocation though lol
Dude your editing is so good
i love your Morriwind stuff and I am all for having more Elden Ring stuff too if you so wish
Dude I absolutely love your hammy rp voiceover, please never change
Loved the editing during Radagon
Great video, Patches, the Background Noise.
Morgott does vary his types of swings based on distance. That may be what you were referring to at 35:55. He can also do something people called "combo extension" where if he miss with an attack he will perform a follow up not normal done if he hits.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who had a lot of trouble with the Elden Beast's projectile spam. That bastard, always jumping to the other side of the area ...
Missed out on a chance to have Melina say Juib's lines from the intro of morrowind.
You are some of the best background noise for gaming on this platform
love the vids
Blasphemous Blade is the single item that took me to Journey 5 (so far). I'd love to git gud, but since I didn't by now, Taker's Flame spam it is.
"Under Sun and Sky, Tarnished, we greet you warmly... Heheheheheheeeeee"
That whole Maliketh segment was pure chefs kiss. I have not laughed that hard in quite a while and the protagonist voice did it.
JBN's an astrophysicist?! It all makes sense now.
Almost. The physics degree became a comp sci degree.
23:33 love that you accurately quoted the "nothing personnel kid"
Ayy, for the weapon you ended up going with exactly the same thing as the answer I gave under your poll! I know you came up with it yourself, but it feels nice to see that momentary alignment of minds, y'know? :D
Holy shit that Margit edit was clean. Made me shoot coffee out of my nose laughing 😂
Also, with the soreseal I think you're thinking about it wrong. That +15% dmg recieved most of the time is just offset by the extra vigor you get, making the extra +5 to your other stats pure bonus with no downside
10:20 *has flashbacks to my first playthrough, going through Caelid with a +1 partisan* yeah, understandable.
I wonder how many hours you've got in ER? Strength/ Faith build, Shamshir, turtle and axe talismans. That's the foundation for a strong build, cosplay or not.
Themed playthroughs of souls games have been some of the most fun I have had with video games.
one little trick with Morgott and the other form he takes is with the delayed attacks, you can take the time to run all the way to their side, or watch the hilt of their weapon, once it moves slightly, the attack is coming and you need to roll right then or take a holy hammer bonk
