    Love your videos. Glad to see you're finally getting headtracking, it makes a huge difference to immersion and VFR flying, and has some advantages over VR actually.
    A plane that I really recommend you check out is the Caproni Vizzola C-22J Ventura which has just been updated, and is £6.93 on Simmarket right now, which is an absolute steal considering the quality of it. I've just started a journey across the US from Miami to Seattle with it. Beautiful plane.

    Lovely flying as always Rachael and two really nice landings. That little strip looks like just my kind of place, then when I’m done with my fun pop over to the big strip for dinner!
    As to what you were saying about the stall horn. I took my friend who is a piper instructor out for a trip in the islands of Scotland and scared the living daylights out of him with the amount of stall horns going off on landings and short take offs and my relaxing statements like well I’m going down here so a stall isn’t a problem.
    Wasn’t very reassuring apparently, I thought I was being reassuring! To this day he swears he still has ptsd! But admits he learned a lot about what aircraft are actually capable of but he still rudely called my cub (kit plane, I honestly forget which of the 678954 cub kits out there it was) I owned at the time a green house with wings, The cheek!
    Great video, love you Rachael

    Nice video and thanks for the link to the Cheat River area. So much fun flying in and out of that region of WVA. The Dawson Facility is used by U.S. Army as a rugged mountain and river training center. I would have included a recent article written by local newspaper on the facility, however UA-cam would not allow the link to be posted.

    Both your landings were absolutely gold today 👌. As ever, just love your jaunts into the backcountry...also, there are some lovely mods available for strips in Nepal, would love for you to maybe do some more trips there as it’s really enjoyable! 😀. Flew with the PC-6 from Pokhara to Jomsom today, both beautified...

    "The stall horn is more of a suggestion" I think there would be a lot of people that have only ever flown flying club rentals that would be freaked out to know there are plenty of aircraft that don't have stall horns. I did my TW conversion in a 1948 Cessna 120, it didn't have a stall horn and the Jodel 112 that I have just bought a share in also doesn't have a stall horn. You have to fly the aircraft by feel!
    I think on modern aircraft AoA indicators are far more valuable than stall horns as they tell you so much more.
    Nice flight, that scenery is lovely, the Husky is a fine aircraft too.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 роки тому +1

      Oh man yes my Instructor would have lost his crap if I said that back then! Now I just see it as a 'be careful' warning, once you fly an aircraft by feeling, and understand the effects of AoA, it's a different experience.
      Jodel 112? Jealous! Those are gorgoeus birds!

      @@AvAngel Oh absolutely, though the stall warner in the T67M (unless you were doing aerobatics) was something to pay attention to as it had a nasty habit of dropping a wing and once in an established spin would drop 3000ft in four revolutions!
      The weather has been somewhat annoying recently I had had the share in the '112 for nearly a month and have only had a basic "do you like it or not" test flight with one of the syndicate members

    Hi Hi! Good day. I just got through enjoying your last video (this one). I have a few questions.
    How do you get your plane to literally turn on a dime? My taxiing is atrocious, very often sharp turns get locked in place and I veer completely off course. I should mention that (for the moment, as I am new to MSFS) I use keyboard and mouse (gasp!!!). Is this problem of taxiing and turning one of many things remedied by a flight stick setup?
    Also, while you were on the ground (arrival location) you were able to view the area, a really lovely walkthrough. How is this achieved? I would love to be able to explore these locations once on the ground! Can you help?

  • @belgeode

    Ooooh you are KIND OF in my neck of the woods now. I am in Southwestern PA. This area and West Virginia look pretty much identical. Definitely been over that area! There are so many little airports like that around the region.
    Oh rumor has it that *some* of the planes coming with Reno may have been made by A2A, and Orbx. At least that is what I am hearing lately. Lovely flight! Thank you much!!!

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah most likely the A2A Mustang, but with stripped systems I expect... they already have a racing one.

    Love these back country videos, they really do make me get out there and explore the back blocks of hometown New Zealand, and I never fail to be impressed with how you can make taildraggers stop without planting the nose :) I thought I had loads of these little planes in the sim but when I looked properly I just have 3 X-Cubs, the Savage Cub and the Savage Grravel - so maybe not. How different to the various Cubs is the Husky ?

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 роки тому

      Lower and further rear CG, so you can lean on the brakes a little harder, and the wing is a bit different, I prefer its handling, bit less twitchy to me. It just depends honestly, but the CG is the big difference. Also thanks! And New Zealand is on my list for soon!

    • @ceegnz
      @ceegnz 2 роки тому

      @@AvAngel Sweet thanks ! I did buy it after I posted that, I had some cash in the Steam wallet and so many people have said that they weren't sure about this but turned out to love it that I took a punt on it and yes I loved it :) Elevator trim was fine, speed was in the same territory as the PC-6 / BN2, rudder trim would have been nice but I don't think the real plane has it so yeah ... My first landing wasn't spectacular, I came in way too fast and didn't have the balls to use the brakes, ground loops for the win :) Definitely glad I bought it, it's different enough to be worth it.

    nice video again! But I have one question, what can you use to look around to the left and right in the cockpit? Keyboard, joystick or mouse? The movement is so fluid and I can't understand that with myself. I've tried hatswitch and buttons before, but both are too slow and unwieldy.
