Those Marvel trading cards take me back to the good old days when I started reading comics. I would copy the art to develop my own style. You could buy individual cards for cheap and build your collection. Usually the poses were dynamic and fun to be inspired by.

I enjoyed this Iron Man series. I got the 2 OHCs and enjoyed the first one (1-19) better than the second (20-33).

That’s too bad that it didn’t stay consistent. But good that you still enjoyed it overall.

Crystar was an action figure line, like Rom, which got it's own comic book series

Too bad it didn’t have the same staying power as ROM.

Considering that daredevil epic is from a full decade ago, how does the new printing compare to the old one? I picked up a dozen OOP epics a few months ago from a store that was closing and that was one of them. The issue with Gambit was the only DD single issue I got back when I was actively getting individual comics every week. I had no idea the epic was so old until I watched this video.

The only real difference is the type of paper they are using. A little thinner, a little less texture. It is the same paper as the Epics have been using for a couple of years now. But otherwise, quality of the image is perfect. Nothing wrong with this new edition at all.

In the live chat t was said that they get their epics from Amazon but I have had bad luck with Amazon shipping. They don't put enough packing in the boxes and I have gotten a lot of damaged books from them. There are some good online companies, organic books, cheap graphic novels, and In-Stock trades.

Yeah Iron Patriot. The Iron Man Epic in question/The Five Nightmares started halfway through 2008. TFN is the first story arc and is fairly contained, the second brings in the post-Secret Invasion setting with Osborn and gang in power. A real flashback and I recall it being a very jolly time at Marvel between Bendis' Avengers, Hickman's FF just starting up and so forth.

Kickstarter and your design is so much better than the Zoop, Conan Colossal Edition. They didn't give any stretch goals that you didn't have to pay extra for and you paid full price for the book as your pledge. Also there has not been an update in 3 months and the book is advertised to be publicly released in about a month. Almost afraid I have been had.

Sometimes books take way longer to make than you expect. There are unexpected things that come up when dealing with art files and other stuff. Give them some time to work through their problems.
Also, we also have the book at full price as the pledge. That is a fairly normal thing from what I’ve seen. No stretch goal here. They are a pain to manage and just eat away at the overhead cost.

I have Granov art running across 130 spines on the Mightiest Heroes collection Hachette put out a few years back. I figure the Fraction run should be about two books, not sure if Spencer's Iron Man 2.0 that was running at the same time will make it into the modern Epics. Already have all of Gillen's run including the web first stuff with Ewing in HCs and a good chunk of later Iron Man in thin trades so Modern Epics as far as end of Fract ion is probably my sweet spot.

I started reading X-men and comics altogether a few months before the fatal attractions storyline started so it is a favorite of mine.

What a time to jump on board! Right at the beginning of big changes.

I kinda regret not buying the Daredevil epic for a bargain price. Good thing there's a reprint.

That one stuck around for a long time before selling out. But glad you can get it now!

Wasn't there a similar triangle era for spider-man?

    • @epicmarvelpodcast

Yeah, the Clone Saga era was treating Spidey the same way. A weekly ongoing story.
