Oh god, giving any sort of negative opinion or even criticism against Sleep Token, will send their many fans haywire. I don't think this opinion is oblivious to most people, but for this particular fanbase it is. Fear Inoculum by Tool is overrated. The Exhorder take is pretty shit. It was Phil that was trying to sound like Exhorder which I'm sure I won't be the only person to point that out. Other than that it's a fine "overrated" list if that's what you're into.
If your in a deathcore band and your reading this if you put a couple sleeptoken chorus in between the growls your band will instantly blow up. If your wondering how to sing like sleeptoken just eat some peanut butter before you sing😂
the satanist by behemoth. i really cannot fathom how can someone say that its their best album when the evangelion, apostasy, demigo, zos kia cultus, thelema 6.0 and satanica exist. theres at least one song in each of the albums mentioned above that is miles above anything in satanist and everything after that.
I actually think Korn’s self titled is overrated. I love Korn a lot, and I think their ST is good, but they definitely have better albums (Issues, The Nothing, Follow The Leader). It’s weird to me because everyone puts it at their number one in album ranking. Yes it was a game changer, yes it had some bangers, but as an album it’s not as well structured as their later work.
The implication was not who came first, it’s who did it better. And for the record, Cowboys came out before Slaughter in the Vatican even if Phil was influenced by them. Stop crying.
No one copied anyone. Both came out in 1990. But Cowboys from Hell came out first in July with Slaughter In The Vatican coming out months later in October.
@@MetalTrenches Exhorder was doing the sound before Pantera did since they were still in the last days of their glam era at the time. Exhorder had two demos in 86 and 87 respectively, long before Pantera’s change of sound and I believe they did cite Exhorder as an influence on their new direction.
@@MetalTrenches Exhorder definitely influenced Pantera. That is pretty well established. Pantera made a bunch of glam albums in the 80's. Exhorder and Pantera played in the same scene. Pantera wanted a tougher sound and they basically used Exhorder as a blueprint. You might like Pantera more, but to say they weren't heavily influenced by Exhorder is just not historically accurate.
Agree with you on City of Evil. The first half or so is great butnit just falls off and its way too long. Disagree on Bolt Thrower and that swipe at Candlemass bruv.
Phil Anselmo was a fan of Exhorder and you can see him wearing a "Death in Vain" shirt on an early Pantera promo photo. Look, you are entitled to your opinion and taste but implying Kyle Thomas was ripping off Pantera is wrong. Exhorder was a local band in the NOLA scene when Pantera was still copying Van Halen and Judas Priest. I'll concede that "The Law" was a reaction to Pantera's popularity.
People are misinterpreting what I’m saying. I’m not saying he’s ripping him off, I’m saying he just doesn’t do it as well. I should have made that clearer
@@MetalTrenches Fair point! There's a reason Pantera became huge and Exhorder would disband in the 90's. Slaughter in the Vatican is much more than just a groove metal album though and I'd recommend listening to it as a thrash album in the same vein as Darkness Descends or Beneath the Remains.
Exhorder...sorry, but I have an urge need to defend this album. Of course I understand your thoughts, as you weren't old enough in 1990 to appreciate it ( or even not born??) When my father showed me 70ies Genesis and YES in 1994 full of enthusiasm I said "Ok daddy, but just let me go back to my Dream Theater, Ok?" When the first Exhorder album came out IT WAS THE ULTIMATE BLAST. You as a real expert can imagine how this tunes felt between Overkill "Years of decay", Anthrax "Persistence of time" and Slayer "Seasons...". It was totally different than anything else ever heard.. Riffing was different. Gallopping Thrash with very angry vocals weren't knew but this here..... Ok, there was already Sepultura 's Benath the remains" out, which striked the Thrash fanbase equally. The cover was a shock. Just go back and listen to the song "Exhorder" please until the very end. The blast speed at the end is.... Beyond everything. This stuff sounded much more brutal, groovy, "modern" and different from all Sodom, Kreator and DRI stuff which was parallely available at this time. One last thing. When I heard the first 1992 Pantera single on MTV "Mouth for war" I thought it was a joke...I was just 15 but my first thought was : " what an Exhorder rip off"!! Everyone in my area listening to early swedish death like Entombed, Grave, Unleashed, Dismeber was also loving Exhorder.
Fantano’s review of Sleep Token’s album is the reason we actually need good critics in the world. That album is just boring as hell and while i eventually got to like Alkaline, this album is boring AF and the singer’s voice reminds too much Anthony Hagerty (i forget what her new name is). Also Exhorder’s singer is Phil Anselmo’s main influence and he acknowledged that he basically ripped off his style completely.
i can understand people not liking it but its such a breathe of fresh air to modern metal fantano is seriously biased when it comes to metal reviews in general
Clayman is awesome, start to finish. The title track, suburban me, another day in quicksand are just as good as pinball map. Ive always liked this record since I heard the title track as a single back in 2000. Hate breeder and something wild have questionable vocals. Still like those records, though. Downfall is awesome. I agree that AYDY is underrated.
I understand what you mean about City of Evil and I don't disagree (it's definitely overrated), but I also still really love it. Shadow's voice is very Mustaine-esque in the fact that you either like it or hate it. He's not winning any awards for clarity or range, but he sings with passion for certain and I think he gets his emotions across well. M.I.A. is probably my favorite A7X song for precisely this reason. No argument about the guitar noodling, cuz there's definitely way too much. Normally I hate excessive guitar wankery but I think I'm blinded by nostalgia. Completely agree about Death Atlas, but I confess that I'm very biased. Cattle Decap hasn't been interesting to me since Humanure. I miss when they were a deathgrind band. Their brand of tech-death isn't my thing.
@@brapxanigan2905 I'm pretty familiar with their material and I never heard anything from him that *wowed* me in the range department, other than the end of M.I.A., but I confess it's been quite awhile since I've been through their material, plus metal has a lot of freaks of nature when it comes to vocal range, so I'm probably biased.
@@richardsinclair7661 There are definitely some freaks of nature in Metal, and also Metal is full of vocal styles that make it easier to project higher pitches, making it seem like they have a higher range than they really do with regular singing. Shadows, on the other hand, doesn't use these techniques and utilitizes regular singing techniques. I wouldn't say he's the best by any means, but he definitely has a higher foothold than many other metal singers

Honestly, this is probably my favourite metal channel right now. Despite often disagreeing with you (For example I do really think City of Evil is A7X's best album), you manage to challenge my opinions in a respectful way. Like you clearly have valid reasons to critisise it and that's very much appreciated. Keep up the good work man.
With Sleep Token are you predominately a metal fan and that's why you don't get on with it? Only asking because I love metal but I also love things like Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Keane, Phantogram etc.
This is not an unpopular opinion. Putting this album in a list with overrated metal albums is just ridiculous. There is so much overrated stuff: most Metallica albums for example. Or inside the Death Metal genre: Obituary as a band for example.
@@tuxoduBolt Thrower is just perfect in my opinion. I can't say which of their albums is the best because I love them all. But I can say that putting any Bolt Thrower album in a list of overrated metal albums is heresy and also bad taste.
Only Exhorder and Pantera made Thrash/Groove back in the day, so it's really difficult to hate on these unicorns, particularly when Slaughter In Vatican is pretty damn consistent at juicy riffs.
As a Testament fanboy, I have to begrudgingly agree. I love PWYP, but compared to the other material it doesn’t hold much of a candle. The only one on this list I truly disagree with is the IVth Crusade. I’m not a huge fan of doom, but I do really like Candlemass and Weedeater. So I tend to like some death with doom thrown in.
My pick would be the Countdown to Extinction/Youthanasia duo. Some consider them classics, but I find them a little one tone at times, and after following the greatest metal record of all time, they just pale in comparison. Tbh, I enjoy Cryptic Writing much better than both
I agree with Fabulous disaster being incredibly overrated. I don’t like some of the songwriting and Early Souza’s vocals. I disagree with Pleasures of the Flesh being better, that album sucks imo. I guess for another hot take…….. Among the living and in general Joey Belladonna Anthrax is so overrated.
I disagree with the Anthrax take, but cool opinion man. I personally really enjoy Among The Living quite a bit along with Spreading The Disease. Pleasures I also disagree with you since it’s personally becoming my favorite Exodus album, but respect if you don’t enjoy it though. Cool opinions blackwater.
I do enjoy The Law but I feel like Mourn the southern skies is definitely their best work. That badass southern thrashy groove metal sound is like nothing I've heard before.
Sleep Token I very much understand. I actually think their first two albums and the two EPs that preceded it do a much better job at bridging the gap between alt-metal and pop; the new one has gone from my AOTY to not even being played that often anymore within the span of five months.
Idk about you but as an old ST fan hearing gods blew me away, I was like how can someone be so vocally talented. Vessel could juxtapose the most beautiful melodies and very harsh vocals. Thats how I feel about One, it has very alluring passages that are straight up gospel but also some of the most brutal guitar tones in the breakdowns. Eden just lacks those feels overall, it has an overly produced sound. Dont get me wrong theres some gems in it like Rain and Vore but the bigger picture seems to be some big cats trying to seize the moment by having ST be the most commercial they've ever sounded.@@simondavies109
Yeah I agree, Exhorder, thanks but no thanks haha! Much prefer Demolition Hammer from the same time or so. Bolt Thrower are great, I love many songs but let's be honest, it's repetitive. As a full album, only their last album is truly excellent from start to end.
Iron Maiden’s Piece of Mind, people love this album so much and the trooper has one of the maiden best riffs but the whole album just doesn’t grab me, I’d take Powerslave or number of the beast any day
It's a really good album sandwiched between two all-time great ones. It doesn't have the explosive punch of The Number of the Beast or the grand epic sweep of Powerslave.
I agree with most of them, but I don’t think both Death Atlas and Practice What You Preached are overrated. I would say that Fabulous Disaster isn’t even the most overrated Exodus album, but rather Bonded by Blood. While it’s great and a classic there were just too many other bands doing similar stuff only better.
Was gonna say the same thing about bonded by blood I feel like BBB is not only the most overrated exodus album but probably one of the most overrated thrash albums of all time every single other exodus album is arguably superior and yet blind thrash heads worship it like it’s the holy grail
Totally get the Sleep Token one, really not my type of thing. But I freaking love Death Atlas, that album made me grow into Cattle Decapitation and now they are definitely one of my favorite death metal bands
The fact that some people put Exhorder as among the most underated bands is well funny . I personally agree Overkill and Pantera are better but many people would actually say Phil more or less tried to sound like Kyle Thomas.Side note of course doom is a sleeping pill thats why i listen to it because i hate asmr and it is my asmr.
City of evil is where I can recognize why someone wouldn't like elements of it but... It's one of the few albums I have every song memorized lol. Strength of the world is meh, but I think there's enough diversity and pacing to justify the albums length
Hear me out: Black Sabbath's master of reality is overrated. 3 great random songs is an EP. It doesn't have the impact of the self titled, or the darkness of Paranoid. Vol 4 and Sabotage hold up better and I'll revisit the Dio era albums more.
This is a MASSIVELY hot take, but I think Reign In Blood and Slayer in general are kind of overrated. Reign In Blood is a great album, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve listened to it multiple times and really only care for the first two songs and the last two songs.
On god you could have taken all ten of those entries and called them the most overrated BANDS and I'd agree. I can't say in the ungodly amount of time I spend listening to heavy music I spin any of those bands on purpose outside of some Cattle Decap.
I predicted that Sleep Token was seasoned metal musicians selling out , and or fey indie rockers doing metal. And if rumours are true the answer is yes and yes.
I do love Death Atlas, but I agree its not their best album ever. Same with City of Evil. Its good, but i don't like it as much as say, Waking the Fallen or their self titled album. I do like Sleep Token, but Return to Eden is meh overall. Their earlier stuff is better I feel.
I would say i agree with most of these takes. The only one i kind of disagree with is Sleep Token. While i feel their low moments are LOW, when they have good moments, they are really good. Imo, some of their songs meshr really well. I also think the vocals add quite a bit, but im not going to be creaming myself because of them like some fans are. But this is just my opinion, and im glad to hear opposing sides about this
Are You Dead Yet is underrated? it's the only album I know or care about by Children of Bodom. That said, as an Avenged Sevenfold hater, I have a almost complete disagreeance with your take. While I can agree some songs might be a little long, I think it is by far their best work. The guitars, drums, the mix, the production, the lyrics, it is one of my 10/10 albums even if I absolutely HATE Seize the Day. I listened to their discog not too long ago and every album I couldn't stand (Aside from certain songs like Unholy Confessions or Almost Easy, maybe a few songs off Waking or Self titled). I can't stand the vocals for the most part on any of the albums, but City of Evil holds a special place in my heart as it had me hooked as a teen and listening now in my 30's I can't help but to love it.
Have to disagree (a bit) with the In Flames pick. Clayman is my third favorite IF album. The bulk of the album is very solid to me. Bullet Ride, Pinball Map, Only for the Weak, Square Nothing, Clayman, Swim, and Suburban me are all great tracks. The other choices are good, especially agree with Insomnium which is one of my favorite bands. As for Sleep Token...yeah, I can't get into them at all and I've tried.
Here’s the thing on Practice What You Preach… In 1989, “more Metallica” is EXACTLY what I wanted, and the album gave me exactly that. 😂 Unlike Fabulous Disaster (yep, three all-time bangers then filler), I’ve always enjoyed Practice start to finish.
Im a pretty big Sleep Token fan but honestly wasnt all over TMBTE until I actually saw them live where the songs felt way more organic and powerful. I think the biggest issue is plain and simple the production which is very bloated and the autotune doesnt help either, artistic choice be it, but I think it simply brings down how unique and good Vessel's voice really is

I totally understand why people don’t like Sleep Token but man, it totally checks off the boxes for me. It satisfies my metal and pop urges. “Clayman” is steeped in nostalgia for me, that was my entry point, though I do agree they have much better albums.
Clayman was one of my intros to melodeath (Damage Done, Natural Born Chaos as well) but definitely not my fav. But did introduce me to so much more. As he stated, Bullet Ride, Pinball Map and moving on.
My list of overrated material is the following (please read my comment till the end for explanations): - *Tomb of the mutilated* :2 good but not amazing tracks (Hammer smashed face and I cum Blood) does not make a good album. The band lived on his name and gory image at this point. - *Altars of madness*: I like the menacing atmosphere but the album is filled with chaotic solos and blast beats all over the place. Just annoying with some good riffs on Immortal rites and Chapel of Ghouls. If this is your N°1 DM album, life must really be boring for you... - *Slaughter of the soul*: the vocals and the drumming are utterly tiring for me. - *Reign in blood*: I love Angel of Death and Rain in blood to pieces but the other tracks are quite generic. My favorite album of the list though. -*Obscura*: never understood this album and will never undertsand it. Couloured Sands is so much better in every aspects! -*The unholy trilogy of Darkthrone*: meh... I had so much expectation prior to listen, paying attention to the public and critics praise but I genuinely disliked those albums. Still I "enjoy" some tracks. To anyone saying that these albums are masterpieces and contain only bangers and no fillers: *just compare the popularity of the songs on any selling platforms. There is a huge difference between the tracks within the aforementioned albums which is the sign of a blend of good tracks and fillers.* Whereas every songs on albums like Symbolic by Death or Pierced from Within by Suffocation show an homogeneous high popularity. I insist on the importance of this popularity of tracks because it´s the only way to have a not so biased opinion on the overall quality of an album. It means: I don´t care about people´s personal opinion on this topic. Classic albums will always be seen as uncriticisable, people ignoring their flaws, and with the ongoing sheep effect, the masses praise these album without having listened to them with attention or do not know much more in the genre. I bought Altars of Madness without listening to it before, just because i relied on people that kept on overly praising it, just like the masses do it since 34 years...
I'd be surprised if you don't get a ton of shit over Kyle Thomas' vocals on the Exhorder album. Lol It was actually Phil Anselmo Who ripped off Exhorder and not the other way around, N00B!
The point isn’t about anyone ripping anyone off, it’s about who does it better. And for the record, Cowboys came out a few months before Slaughter In The Vatican and the difference in quality SHOWS. Show me on the doll where that hurts you.
Lol you are being a crybaby by not admitting you were wrong. Exact transcription: " He sounds like he's trying to pull off a Phil Anselmo but just ends up sounding like an annoying cheap knock off". Now English is not my first language but this is fairly easy to understand. Don't try to pull the " This was misinterpreted" card and admit you were wrong. It's not like I'm the only one calling you out on this.

Practice What You Preach still a great album as well as Fabulous DIsaster
I like the 4th crusade but prefer mercenary. Respect your opinion on bolt thrower.
I am curious to check out Zeal and Ardor - Sleep Token always felt enticing, but never really got completely interested.
unsubbbed cos bolt thrower
lol if you're that sensitive, you are in the wrong place anyways. Byyyyeeee.
Bolt Thrower and Exhorder fucking rule!!
😎🤟🔥💯☠️🖤🎸
Oh god, giving any sort of negative opinion or even criticism against Sleep Token, will send their many fans haywire.
I don't think this opinion is oblivious to most people, but for this particular fanbase it is. Fear Inoculum by Tool is overrated. It's not a bad record, but it's extremely bloated and uninspiring sometimes. It is by far their most boring album.
I think PWYP has really high highs and really low lows. The songs alternate between face melting thrash and just straight boring
IVth Crusade I’ve never got, I’m a massive bolt thrower fan but just can’t get into this album.
Hatebreeder is cob best, nothing comes close in their entire discography, they just got progressively worse with each album afterwards
The exhorder album is excellent, I understand you don’t like the vocals but the musics top notch
To me not an album but a band I feel is super overrated is Testament, there clearly very good as a band, Alex is a tasty lead player but I just don’t click with me, they’ve got great riffs but I can barely remember any song they’ve done. I want to like them but they just don’t do owt for me
The Exhorder take is pretty shit. It was Phil that was trying to sound like Exhorder which I'm sure I won't be the only person to point that out. Other than that it's a fine "overrated" list if that's what you're into.
Phil does it so much better imo
@@MetalTrenches yeah maybe, but those Exhorder albums rule too. Listen to them a couple more times they'll worm their way in. Desecrator is so intense
I’ve tried many times
@@MetalTrenches have you tried listening to them... On weed?
Pleasures of the Flesh is their best for sure! Your take on Exhorder is shite though! Kyle was the influence on Phil, not the other way around!
Still sounds like an adolescent Phil Ansemlo
If your in a deathcore band and your reading this if you put a couple sleeptoken chorus in between the growls your band will instantly blow up. If your wondering how to sing like sleeptoken just eat some peanut butter before you sing😂
A fan of reroute to remain calling clayman a chore is fucking wild bro lol
I’ll never stop
the satanist by behemoth. i really cannot fathom how can someone say that its their best album when the evangelion, apostasy, demigo, zos kia cultus, thelema 6.0 and satanica exist. theres at least one song in each of the albums mentioned above that is miles above anything in satanist and everything after that.
Ooft the bolt thrower fans will go hard on this haha. I love 4th crusade though.
I think lunar strain is EXTREMELY overrated.
Exhorder came before Pantera Phil Anselmo is a knockoff of exhorder do your research
The implication was not who came first, it’s who did it better. And for the record, Cowboys came out before Slaughter in the Vatican even if Phil was influenced by them. Stop crying.
I thought it was Pantera who coppied Exhorder, was it?
Of course I understand your thoughts, as you weren't old enough in 1990 to appreciate it ( or even not born??)
When my father showed me 70ies Genesis and YES in 1994 full of enthusiasm I said "Ok daddy, but just let me go back to my Dream Theater, Ok?"
When the first Exhorder album came out IT WAS THE ULTIMATE BLAST.
For the record I’m 37. I wouldn’t consider age a factor necessarily considering I LOVE so many other 80’s and 90’s albums
Re overrated bands: am I the only person who thinks Belphegor look and sound like someone asked ChatGPT to make a generic metal band?
lol
Totally agree with the sleep token and cattle decap takes. Disagree with the A7X but you make great points
I strongly disagree about A7X's City of Evil. I think it's close to being a masterpiece start to finish.
My only comment here is that Shadows definitely could win some awards for range. Mans a beast in that regard
I think its the best metal album ever, better than Master of Puppets. And this is coming from someone who refused to listen to it when it first came out until 10 years later...
I actually agree on alot of these except for the CoB and AX7 albums. For me those are timeless classics that just get better and better with age haha.
Both great albums
I was about to comment exactly this. Both flawless legendary albums
Well exhorder was actually before pantera, and phil copied Kyle, thats all I'll say lol
Pantera put an album out in 83 and they formed in 81. Exhorders first demo was in 86 and they formed in 85
might get myself cancelled but I think Metallica Master of Puppets is overrated dont get me wrong its a good album but i think other Metallica albums are better
I agree man. Recently I’ve come to the conclusion that Ride The Lightning is by far the better record 🤘
The Exhorder take hurt 😂 get into the history. Kyle is actually who Phil got that vocal style from.
Exactly. Even if you look back on old pictures of Pantera you'll see Phil wearing an exhorder shirt. This guy's an idiot 😂

With Sleep Token are you predominately a metal fan and that's why you don't get on with it? Only asking because I love metal but I also love things like Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Keane, Phantogram etc.
Unpopular opinion: The IVth Crusade is actually my favorite Bolt Thrower release 😅
The riffs are so much more memorable
Same
This is not an unpopular opinion. Putting this album in a list with overrated metal albums is just ridiculous. There is so much overrated stuff: most Metallica albums for example. Or inside the Death Metal genre: Obituary as a band for example.
@@Backpflaume666 I got you, but I've seen people ranking For Those Once Loyal or For Victory as the best, for example
I think the name groove metal is dumb.
I personally prefer The Legacy
Number of the beast by Iron Maiden is very overrated.
Piece of Mind is the best, but Number is simply great, made only of good songs or complete classics
THOSE 2 BOLT THROWER RECORDS ARE LEGENDARY!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed regarding Testament
My pick would be the Countdown to Extinction/Youthanasia duo. Some consider them classics, but I find them a little one tone at times, and after following the greatest metal record of all time, they just pale in comparison. Tbh, I enjoy Cryptic Writing much better than both
I deftly agree with you also idk if its just me but another thing that i have with those 2 albums is that ... they feel so unnecessarily long
I agree with Fabulous disaster being incredibly overrated. I don’t like some of the songwriting and Early Souza’s vocals. I disagree with Pleasures of the Flesh being better, that album sucks imo.
I guess for another hot take…….. Among the living and in general Joey Belladonna Anthrax is so overrated.
Relisten to Pleasures if it’s been a while. I’m TELLING you …
I disagree with the Anthrax take, but cool opinion man. I personally really enjoy Among The Living quite a bit along with Spreading The Disease. Pleasures I also disagree with you since it’s personally becoming my favorite Exodus album, but respect if you don’t enjoy it though. Cool opinions blackwater.
RAGE!!!!!! Lol, you are entitled to your opinions sir. Have fun with the more fanatical comments.
Bolt Thrower? Ouch. That hurt. Exhorder's "The Law" is by far their best album.
I agree it's not their best album but I don't think it's overrated. Maybe not the best if you're into metal.
There’s something magical about One. My problem with tmbte is that it is “too metal” and that’s coming from an elitist.
@@ForLorNVuLgaRIn what way?
I agree Take Me Back to Eden is kinda overrated but the album is still lovely
Clayman is a hot take, I love almost every track on this album tho
Souls of Black superior to Practice What You Preach?! Girl, you cray cray 😜
I don't take it back lol
Yeah I agree, Exhorder, thanks but no thanks haha! Much prefer Demolition Hammer from the same time or so. Bolt Thrower are great, I love many songs but let's be honest, it's repetitive. As a full album, only their last album is truly excellent from start to end.
Inflames, testament and children of bodom.. can't agree with those picks dude.
For me notb is overrated. Only 3-4 songs are likable
Agreed
Bolt thrower is the best band ever to make death metal
Nope.
@@alvarojflorez Bolt Thrower is your favorite death metal bands favorite death metal band.
They're great but not even in that conversation for me honestly
I agree with most of them, but I don’t think both Death Atlas and Practice What You Preached are overrated. I would say that Fabulous Disaster isn’t even the most overrated Exodus album, but rather Bonded by Blood. While it’s great and a classic there were just too many other bands doing similar stuff only better.
Was gonna say the same thing about bonded by blood I feel like BBB is not only the most overrated exodus album but probably one of the most overrated thrash albums of all time every single other exodus album is arguably superior and yet blind thrash heads worship it like it’s the holy grail
@@destinygaming2523”I don’t like this album so everyone who likes it is blind”
Hear me out:
Black Sabbath's master of reality is overrated.
I had this same take in the first video of this series 😂🤘🏻
On god you could have taken all ten of those entries and called them the most overrated BANDS and I'd agree. I can't say in the ungodly amount of time I spend listening to heavy music I spin any of those bands on purpose outside of some Cattle Decap.
1:03 the "Betrayed" and "Sidewinder" slander will not stand, good sir 😂
replace death atlas with hybrid theory and the list would be perfect tbh ngl

MOST disagree with me on Clayman lol
My pick is Cause of Death. It’s fine but imo it’s nowhere near Obituary’s best album.
I definitely agree with you on sleep token, VERY OVERRATED
Here’s the thing on Practice What You Preach… In 1989, “more Metallica” is EXACTLY what I wanted, and the album gave me exactly that. 😂 Unlike Fabulous Disaster (yep, three all-time bangers then filler), I’ve always enjoyed Practice start to finish.
Hatebreeder is one of the greatest melodic death albums ever created.
Gojira in general, I'm not saying they are bad , I just find them extremely boring.
Fortress by Alter Bridge is one such album
It is great but not as good as B3
Why is Fortress is concerned the best
Filosofem, Det Som Engang Var is far better imo
I think exodus - pleasures of the flesh is one of the worst produced thrash albums ever.
Im a pretty big Sleep Token fan but honestly wasnt all over TMBTE until I actually saw them live where the songs felt way more organic and powerful. I think the biggest issue is plain and simple the production which is very bloated and the autotune doesnt help either, artistic choice be it, but I think it simply brings down how unique and good Vessel's voice really is
Fair point but I still think it's great. If I had one criticism I think the drums could have been utilised more considering how great he is.
@@simondavies109 thats why their second album is my favorite, the drummer there goes absolutely fucking wild on songs like Hypnosis and Alkaline, always staying in pocket while still adding some cheeky fills that give character to the sound

I'm 48 and for me personally Sleep Token has affected my soul more than any band of the last 20 years.
Definitely sleep token lol. I don’t really listen to these other bands much
My list of overrated material is the following (please read my comment till the end for explanations):
- *Tomb of the mutilated* :2 good but not amazing tracks (Hammer smashed face and I cum Blood) does not make a good album.
