Completely agree about L.D.50. I do like a few songs here or there from later albums (Lost and Found especially, since I grew up around the time it came out), but none of them compare to their debut. Probably as close as you can get to proggy nu-metal. Also, Ryan Martinie's bass work on that album is otherworldly, and the number one reason to listen to the album.
Bloodbath's Nightmares Made Flesh for me. I don’t dislike the rest of their discography but the Vocals, melodies, riffs, and production all hit really nice with that album.

Although old Kesha is seemingly fun electro pop it's not for me, but her new stuff is quite good. So it's literally a 50:50 of albums I won't listen to and albums I appreciate. To stay in the realm of Metal: I don't like Abbaths solo project and wish he'd rather have reunited I, his first album is lackluster at best and his third a complete nosedive, but Outstrider wasn't half bad... I actually was optimistic that we now had two bands delivering quality Immortal style music, but both new albums were a letdown... Well War against all not so much, but still not as good as NGC. But Abbath... I'll see what the future holds but I don't have high hopes.
2 albums but The Downward Spiral and The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails. Their other stuff comes off to me as pretentious and tryhard. I do respect Pretty Hate Machine but it's not my thing.
Hybrid theory for sure Slipknot self title Ld 50 mudvayne Frontschwein by Marduk Ratt invasion to your privacy Savatage Hall of the mountain King Gun's and Roses use your illusion
Motionless In White's more Metalcore/Nu Metal stuff is infinitely better than the more industrial stuff and it's not even close. Even after Creatures, their songs like Thoughts and Prayers and Slaughterhouse make me want to break stuff like almost no Nu Metal band (except Tallah and early Slipknot) ever has and that's a compliment and a half. Chris is also a very talented and very unique Vocalist imo, unfortunately he also writes some of the worst most cringe lyrics of the genre so it's a double edged blade I guess.
Staind is probably my least favorite band of all time. Even as a teen, just yuck. I totally agree about motionless in white and creatures. After creatures, they decided to let their look define their sound and all they have done since then is plagiarize bands I didn't want to remember. I used to like them alot though. Now, I avoid them at all costs.
That staind album is awful, the first one is the only decent one.... the last 2 dark Funeral albums were amazing...all obituary albums, well most of them, are great...I like some incantation...I agree with you on autopsy and burzum... but the rest of the bands on here? 🤮
Good to see LD50 and Creatures on here. LD50 is one of the better Nu-Metal albums ever made, and everything Motionless have done after Creatures has been boring. Creatures itself though is an absolute belter of an album.
Yeah the last Dark Funeral album was meh. Not terrible, just meh. Where Shadows forever reign was my first introduction to them, and my favourite together with Vobiscum Satanas and Attera Totus Sanctus. Mere weeks after I discovered them and listened to their whole discography I bought the Darkthrone boxset Black Death and Beyond which was my introduction to underground metal. Thus, after three years of listening to every metal subgenre I found my niche in oldschool Heavy, Black, Death and Doom Metal. Not to say that I don't listen to other subgenres as well, but it was a massive shift nonetheless.
Cause of Death is the best Obituary album ever! Slowly We Rot is awesome too though! Their new album is among the best of 2023 this year. I also do love Motionless In White, but do prefer Black Veil Brides personally!
Megadeth fan here. I love rip but I absolutely can't stand it anymore. Just no more please The new album, sick dying dead. Really is the part 2 everyone was waiting for. For me The Sickness by Disturbed, it’s one of my all time favourite albums, but everything Disturbed did after The Sickness to me is a bit bland. Science by Incubus, also one of my favourite albums, but after Science, Incubus became a bland Alt Rock band. Themata by Karnivool, fucking amazing debut album, in my top 5 all time albums. But almost everything Karnivool did after Themata is just paint by numbers Prog Rock. Themata had a fantastic mix of Prog, Funk and Metal on that album, but almost everything after Themata is just your usual Prog Rock. The Autumn Effect by 10 Years, a fucking phenomenal album, in my top 5 albums. The Autumn Effect is a fantastic blend of a little bit of Prog with Post Grunge, and even a little Folky at times maybe. think Tool meets Days Of The New. But they dropped the Prog and Folky influences and almost everything after The Autumn Effect is just bland Alt Rock, some good songs here and there on other albums but The Autumn Effect was their magnum opus. I fucking love those albums, especially Themata and The Autumn Effect, both are in my top 5 albums, I have them on vinyl. It’s just these bands went bland after.
was very surprised to see creatures on this. I always need to refresh my memory with how good this debut was. while i do dig most of their music (mainly anything but the newest album), this album will always give me nostalgia when i found it in 8th grade which probably everyone did as well LOL
For me: Black Stone Cherry- Self Titled, Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid & Malibu Ken (I have a lot of respect for Aes but his music is tedious and hard to get into) "Self-Unalived" Scilence - The Cleansing & Thy Art is Unaliving - Holy Wars (I just cant do Deathcore but these albums go hard af) Hot Fuss by The Killers (Sams Town also has some slappers but its pretty forgetable) and One-X - Three Days Grace Also agree with you on Dark Funeral.and Belphegor. When I saw their logos and presentation, i thought id be in for the most depraved, disgusting, toilet music, but then it was just mid forgettable euro metal.

Interesting
Always felt Ryan Martinie’s talent was wasted being in Mudvayne.
2 albums but The Downward Spiral and The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails. Their other stuff comes off to me as pretentious and tryhard. I do respect Pretty Hate Machine but it's not my thing.
Hybrid theory for sure
Slipknot self title
Ld 50 mudvayne
Frontschwein by Marduk
Ratt invasion to your privacy
Savatage Hall of the mountain King
Gun's and Roses use your illusion
Never been a particularly big Mudvayne fan; but Ryan Martinie is an absolute genius as regards bass playing.
Reminds me a little of John Entwistle.
Mudvayne is hard ASF. Disturbed is not as great now as the 2000's but mudvayne not good? You are whacked
LD50 is top shelf. Ryan Martinie is the most talented member and their greatest weapon, yet they toned his bass down on later records. stupid.
Coal Chamber’s first two albums are definitely a guilty pleasure for me. Don’t care for everything else they did.
Cause of Death is the best Obituary album ever! Slowly We Rot is awesome too though! Their new album is among the best of 2023 this year. I also do love Motionless In White, but do prefer Black Veil Brides personally!
The End Complete is my jam.
Can’t stand darkthrone but I do like transilvanian hunger. It’s so depressing.
Imo you could take those first four Burzum albums everyone loves and trim off all the bullshit songs and make one really great album
I generally don't care much for Megadeth, but I think Rust in Peace is an 11/10 masterpiece.
Megadeth fan here. I love rip but I absolutely can't stand it anymore. Just no more please
The new album, sick dying dead. Really is the part 2 everyone was waiting for. With that said it's just as contrived as you would think......but it's a great alternative to listening to phuqn rip one more single time
Understandable. Most of the rest of their discography is so-so. Peace Sells is pretty strong to me but I get you.
Yea i get ya. While i am not in love with it, i still think it’s a strong album. Tho their discography is sloppy af
Sorry friend but i feel like it's a bit overrated and countdown to extinction is better overall
For context, that clip that was swiftly followed by "ANYTHING but that"... what band was that so I know to avoid them?! 😅
Six Feet Under
Some good takes as ever but you really hit the nail on the head with Burzum & Stained!
100
LD50 being my favorite album of all time really stings since i don’t really like anything after EOATTC and even that one isn’t nearly as consistent lol
Albums I like by bands I otherwise don't like:
Devourment: Molesting the Decapitated
G//Z/R: Plastic Planet (their other albums were released under the name Geezer)
Overkill: Taking Over
Psychroptic: The Scepter of the Ancients
what's wrong with Overkill?
Tip by Finger Eleven has gotten so many replays from me but I could never find myself listening to the other albums that came after.
Yeah they went buttrock in the absolutely worst way
For me
The Sickness by Disturbed, it’s one of my all time favourite albums, but everything Disturbed did after The Sickness to me is a bit bland.
I thought The Sickness was bland and generic.
LD.50 goes incredibly hard. Love that album, kinda reinvented Nu metal and is actually a fun listen.
was very surprised to see creatures on this. I always need to refresh my memory with how good this debut was. while i do dig most of their music (mainly anything but the newest album), this album will always give me nostalgia when i found it in 8th grade which probably everyone did as well LOL
Vesania - Destructive Killusions
glad to see LD 50 on here. that album is fucking siiiiick
I still can't believe Burzum ended up on VH1.
lol I know
All That Remains - The Fall of Ideals
Exodus - Bonded By Blood
I like Fabulous Disaster too, but I very rarely put it on and mostly keep to the debut.
Rob Dukes era is undefeated, best era of exodus
L.D.50 is Mudvayne’s only album that is a from front to back.
I think I’d have to agree, but they have other projects that are only 3 or less skips, but L.D. 50 is probably the most perfect Nu metal album imo
@@clandon9624they’re alternative metal not numetal
Mudvayne is a strong rhythm section with a subpar vocalist/lyricist (who refers to himself as “Chadness”).
Agreed
Should have been titled "Albums I love from black metal and nu metal bands that I don't". J/S
There’s multiple death metal bands…
I’ve seen incantation twice! John is such a sweetheart.
i like autopsy! 😁
I thought Mudvayne's 2nd and 3rd albums were still quite good but The New Game and the self-titled album are garbage
2nd album was fiiiiine
@@MetalTrenches I thought the songs themselves were pretty cool, the problem was that they sounded kinda flat due to the mix
Agreed on Obituary....slowly we rot is their best album
World Demise is super underrated imo
Dark Funeral has a side project called NordJevel that’s where all the good riffs went lol
Drummer is also in Night Crowned which is great
six feet under is actually pretty enjoyable imo, especially their last album, very entertaining.
😂
If only in "so bad it's funny" way
EEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Hell naw!
What is Sooo cringe about motionless in white!?!?
Can we start with the lyrics? “She loves me cuz I like to give head like a zombie.” There are TONS of awful quotes like that.
Dig is the sh*t
Carcass - Heartwork
Mayhem - De Mysteriis…
Rammstein - Sehnsucht
Immortal - At the heart of winter
To name a few
For me: Black Stone Cherry- Self Titled, Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid & Malibu Ken (I have a lot of respect for Aes but his music is tedious and hard to get into) "Self-Unalived" Scilence - The Cleansing & Thy Art is Unaliving - Holy Wars (I just cant do Deathcore but these albums go hard af) Hot Fuss by The Killers (Sams Town also has some slappers but its pretty forgetable) and One-X - Three Days Grace
Also agree with you on Dark Funeral.and Belphegor. When I saw their logos and presentation, i thought id be in for the most depraved, disgusting, toilet music, but then it was just mid forgettable euro metal.
