you know the 90s were a different time when chris barnes does the vocals on an album in the perfection tier
For REAL lol
The 90s definitely was a different and crazy time for Metal for sure
I miss when he sounded like an inhuman beast instead of someone parodying how Death Metal Vocals sound.
@leatherface4662 last time barnes had really good vocal delivery was on the six feet under debut album Haunted
any random person doing a vocal parody of death metal would sound better than he did on 6FU's latest album
I was not even ready for a new CC album, totally whiplashed when learning that a new one was on the way. Violence unimagined still feels like it came out yesterday, time really does fly huh
I literally feel that way about everything after Eviseration Plague
I respect cannibal corpse but am honestly not a big fan. Just not my style, but I do agree it does seem like their previous album just came out like a few months ago. The older you get the faster time flies.
I just realized I first heard Tomb of the Mutilated thirty years ago and now I feel old af. CC are definitely the most consistent death metal band out there.
I’m right there with ya. I was like 12 or 13 and I learned there was a band called Cannibal Corpse and I was like “they can do that?!?!” Now I’m in my 40s still blaring them, but while mowing the lawn or doing laundry.
A Skeletal Domain was the very first Cannibal Corpse album I ever heard! I'm glad to see that album get the respect it deserves. Cannibal Corpse can do no wrong! Great video! 🤘
Fantastic album
Well, they can do plenty wrong xd
@@maxerea4380 Really? Explain yourself
@@Playerthegamer21 just because someone wrote a good album doesnt mean they are a good person (people).
@maxerea4380 Yeah, but we're not talking about the guys in Cannibal Corpse, we're talking about the music. And in that case, they'd have to go out of their way to do wrong.
Vile is my favorite Cannibal Corpse album. The faster pace and Corpsegrinder’s hoarse vocals made it an all time classic to me. It deserves more love than it gets.
Was my 1st intro to the band and death metal. A buddy left his backpack here and in it was a cassette of VILE. Took me a few listens but one night while tripping balls on cid I blasted it with headphones and I suddenly became a death metal fan. Never backed down since. Was the summer of 97ish I believe. A major turning point.
You'll hate my list! 😅
@@christopherchesaux3554he said “cid” 😁
I find Vile to be their most consistently underrated album. I think I might put Kill, Torture, and Bloodthirst over it, but I have it high in their discography. Chaos Horrific might end up pretty high too, honestly.
Yeah I’m totally with you on ‘Kill’, my absolute favourite CC album! Death Walking Terror is a must on a workout playlist 💪🏻
Banger
Scourage of Iron and Staring through the eyes of the dead are my favorite Cannibal Corpse songs.
Scourge of Iron is a fucking banger! An awesome tune live!
@@evilone1079I love the opening riff.
For me post mortal ejaculation, force fed broken glass, vomit the soul, scourge of iron, edible autopsy and five nails rond the neck
Hey man - new viewer here. Of course my CC rankings look a little different than yours, but you gave me a few things to think about, and I'm leaving the video wanting to listen to a bunch of these albums again. I appreciated your thoughtful analysis and commentary so much. The time you put into this just won yourself another subscriber. I'm excited to dive into some of your other videos now!
Welcome and thanks for sharing!
corpsegrinder sounds like an absolute titan on A Skeletal Domain, easily his best vocal performance and production, that being said all of corpsegrinders vocals are fire
I can’t wait!!! Thanks for working so hard for us.
I pretty much like all the albums released between 1999-2017. Pat was their secret weapon in making memorable songs and Corpsegrinder is a way better vocalist
Gallery Of Suicide and Bloodthirst are MEGA underrated
Webster wrote 90% of gallery....I think I'm the only one who realizes this. Gallery is fucking pure brilliance
For me Gallery is a perfection !
I agree.
Awesome - so happy u did a spot on them! Thanks!
Couldn't agree more with the whole thing, specially with "The Wretched Spawn" making its way up to "fantastic". Great video. Also, sick screaming there sir! Keep up the good work 💯
I was waiting for this one! Love ur stuff dude!
🤘🏻
One of my favorite death metal bands, great video 🤘🏽
Can’t wait to hear it 🤘 People can laugh all they want, but CC is one of my favourite bands ever.
Epic video, I've been a longtime casual fan but their discography is so huge I didn't know where to start to really explore their stuff. Now I have a road map 🤘
Cannibal Corpse is my all time favorite Death Metal band and I can still remember buying Eaten Back To Life on cassette right after it was released. You did their discography justice with your rankings, although I’d probably rank Gore Obsessed up there as fantastic!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
\m/
I honestly couldn't tell you how I'd rank them all. I think you did a really good job on this one. And I'm really glad you revised your opinion on The Wretched Spawn. Chaos Horrific is ordered and I'm looking forward to it. 😎🤘🤘🤘
I just got a Cannibal Corpse shirt yesterday so this is perfect. Cannibal Corpse are always consistent when it comes to meat and potatoes death metal and Chaos Horrific will be no different. Here would be my ranking:
S - Tomb of the Mutilated, The Bleeding, Bloodthirst, The Wretched Spawn, Torture, A Skeletal Domain
A - Eaten Back to Life, Gallery of Suicide, Kill, Evisceration Plague, Violence Unimagined
B - Butchered at Birth, Vile, Gore Obsessed, Red Before Black
A Skeletal Domain is absolutely nuts! Love the riffing on that album
Don't thumbs down my list 😅
Glad to see you appreciate A Skeletal Domain as I do
Great List! totally agree with everything
I don't believe that an OKAY category is necessary for Cannibal, but that's just me. However, your comment about revisiting things is actually how I view Gore Obsessed. I used it right it off for some reason but I has become a total banger for me. Defiantly has some INSANE moments on that album, the opening song fucking SLAYS. Georges' best screams I think on that album. Totally agree with your take on Torture and Skeletal, Torture I remember thinking everybody was crazy for not always talking that album up but I really think it's still their apex album. Also love Violence Unimagined, new album is still growing on me, it reminds me of when Red came out, initial impression was something was missing, but sometimes it just take time.
Incredible discography. Really no bad albums. The band is so consistent that my album rankings have moved around quite a bit over the last few years. The new album, "Chaos Horrific", is another fantastic release.
Perfection: Kill, Tomb of the Mutilated, The Bleeding, Torture
Fantastic: Bloodthirst, A Skeletal Domain, The Wretched Spawn, Chaos Horrific
Great: Evisceration Plague, Violence Unimagined, Gallery of Suicide, Butchered at Birth
Good: Gore Obsessed, Red Before Black
Okay: Eaten Back to Life, Vile
Favourite of the Chris Barnes era is Eaten Back to Life--I love the slight death-thrash vibes! Favourite of Corpsegrinder's era is A Skeletal Domain. Love the guitar tone on that one!
love the tier list man cannibal corpse doesn't disappoint in the damn slightest, also I feel your editing has gotten better over the years nice to see you improve as time goes on.
my top 5.
5. Tomb of the mutilated
4. kill
3. Evisceration plague
2.Torture
1. A skeletal domain
Haven't heard their new album but fuck yes I will checking it out later.
Such a consistent band, you don't need a bad category
I never listened to Cannibal Corpse but when they gave all of their albums for free NYP on Bandcamp couple of years ago i payed 1$ each and listened to them for the first time and instantly regretted it for never giving them a chance before and i listened a lot of death metal in my life
The Bleeding is nothing but perfection. One of, if not the catchiest death metal album ever.
Kill was the album that got me into them when it came out. Around that same time I got into other death metal bands like bloodbath and six feet under. Got to meet them after a show during the e plague album. Very nice guys. All took pictures with me and signed my shirt. One of my all time favorite concerts I went to. Also saw the faceless on the bill
All sick bands mentioned 🤘🏾
A Skeletal Domain lives up to its name for being absolutely bone-crushing. Gore Obsessed is also super underrated for having some of the best Corpsegrinder screams. You've got me completely hyped for Chaos Horrific now, can't wait!
Corpsegrinder was at his peak during the Gallery thru Kill phases. But he still kills the low end of any singer imo. His highs were EPIC in the above.
S tier - The Bleeding, Tomb of the Mutilated, Bloodthirst, Torture, Violence Unimagined
A tier - Butchered at Birth, The Wretched Spawn, Kill, A Skeletal Domain
B tier - Eaten Back to Life,, Gore Obsessed, Red Before Black,
C tier - Evisceration Plague, Gallery of Suicide
D tier - Vile
Kill, Chaos Horrific, Tomb, 2021 and Skeletal Domain, Red Before Black are my favorite
Cannibal Corpse is the Metallica of death metal. Love their discography. Good vid!

Chaos Horrific is Perfection So is a Skeletal domain and Violence unimagined and Eviseration Plague is Fantastic in my opinion other than that Spot on brother I been listening to CC since 1990 i was 8 at the time still got the eaten back to life record to this day :) love ur channel bud So Glad I subscribed u got a forever Subscriber here 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 Brotha!!
chaos horrific is boring as fuck
Interesting list. Glad to see TWS get the recognition it deserves
Cool to see wretched Spawn click for you man. That's always been one of my tops corpse albums. Their most technical and frenzied album
gore obsessed is my favorite corpsegrinder era album. i can't wrap my head around why it's so overlooked. it's got everything going for it. some of CG's deepest and most menacing vocals, the creepy atmospheric riffs of gallery of suicide interwoven with a thrashier, more straightforward sense of brutality, an EXCELLENT tracklist where every song has a very unique characteristic, and some of their catchiest tunes overall. the whole album feels very "meta" as well. there's a huge sense of self-awareness, so it comes off as more whimsical and fun than most of their other albums. also, the production is very unique compared to their other more compressed sounding albums. it's got a natural feel to it, and isn't overly digitized. almost like an older thrash production. 10/10 album.
The Bleeding was perfection & stumped you didnt mention stripped raped & strangled one of my all time favorites from Barnes! 🤘
force fed broken glass
Bloodthirst was my first CC album. At first I thought the vocals were hilarious and ridiculous, I'd never heard anything like it. But it quickly grew on me and it turned me into a death metal nut.
A nice touch having a small sample from each album before talking about it
Saw them live for the first time last weekend with mayhem, gorguts, and blood Incantation. Corpsegrinder would not stop headbanging. Crazy good show.
S: The Bleeding, Red Before Black
A: Eaten Back to Life, Tomb of the Mutilated, Violence Unimagined
B: Kill, Torture
C: Butchered at Birth, Vile, The Wretched Spawn, A Skeletal Domain
D: Gallery of Suicide, Bloodthirst, Gore Obsessed, Evisceration Plague
Still need to wait for Chaos Horrific to come out so I can listen to it!
Wow, I listened to the new album once through and it’s awesome and somewhat confusing in places. Like, how do they keep up with those weird ass riff thingies? Very creative. I’ll need to listen several more times to get accustomed to some songs. Lots to chew on.
And, I’m very happy to hear a few songs with the Hate Eternal influences again.
Rutan!
A hallmark of technical and sick metal. They sing about having a really bad day... ❤
Fun fact-I'm from Hillsborough CO (Tampa,FL) originally and have been to Morris Sound Studios many times as a child in the late 80s/ early 90s with my father who is a jazz drummer that recorded there as well with his band at the time
Great list, I agree with almost everything but I would swap Red Before Black and Evisceration Plague
I must be the only one that thinks Eaten Back To Life is their best album 😮💨
I´m not a fan of Cannibal Corpse overall but this one is in my top 3 actually ;-)
I think you are. You even like it more than torture?
@@anthonypeltier4039 Torture is the only album I own and I find it super generic and boring. At least eaten back to life is special and one of a kind. The songwriting is better too.
@@zschokks5583 what, torture has much more interesting riffs and better structure, eaten back to life is fast and intense but the riffs aren't very memorable imo
Legit Torture and Eaten Back are my favs and i feel weird for that xd
Corpse grinder would probably laugh at the big Ed joke.I don’t love every CC album but they are at least solid every time.
lol he has to have seen the memes
Cannibal Corpse was one of the first death metal bands I got into back in like 2016-2017 when I was around 16. I've been working on collecting all their albums and only have 5 left.
Here's my list:
S- The Wretched Spawn, Tomb of The Mutilated, The Bleeding
A- Eaten Back to Life, Kill, Bloodthirst, Torture
B- Vile, A Skeletal Domain, Violence Unimagined
C- Butchered at Birth, Red Before Black, Evisceration Plague
D- Gallery of Suicide, Gore Obsessed
My Chaos Horrific CD comes tomorrow so I haven't gotten to listen to the whole album yet which is why it's not on my list.
butchered at bitth not s rated opinion invalidated
I'm lost to how you managed to get Kill below The Wretched Spawn
Im trying to get into CC, been listening to a lot if their early stuff with Chris as well as the later stuff with George. So far Bloodthrist is my favorite George album and Tomb is my favorite Chris album
comparing to the Demo , Eaten back to Life hit perfection
It's amazing how Cannibal Corpse has what I consider to be the most solid discography of Death Metal, especially with that many releases. KILL is in my Top 3 best Death Metal records ever 🤘
I know I say this quite often, but "Tomb of the Mutilated" has the best death metal production ever. Everything is just right there.
In contrast, "The Bleeding" sounds like it was recorded on a cheap children's cassette recorder.
TotM is still my #1 and will almost certainly stay that way.
My #2 is, and I really have to disagree with you, “Butchered At Birth”. But that could also be for personal and nostalgic reasons, as it was my first death metal album ever.
On the 3: "Violence Unimagined"
It's unbelievable that such an old band still manages to write such an incredibly good album. Rutan really brings freshness without changing the band's sound. Just great!
#4 is "Kill"
As my number 5 you can actually put all the rest together. All other albums are on the same level for me. Cannibal Corpse were never bad. And Erik is really good for them. I'm really looking forward to the new album.
Good to see Gallery of Suicide getting some love here. A lot of people overlook it but it is CC at their best in my book. Great content brother
No bad albums. Your least fav Cannibal Corpse album is someone else's fav. Lol. Love this band.
Gallery is their best album. No contest.
I like a lot of the songs on the first 4 albums but I'd kill for a re-recording or at least an instrumental version
7:34
I'd say the most chilling album cover in the history of metal itself is tomb of the mutilated.
I mean, JUST LOOK AT IT! EUAGH!
Very good video and tier list, but I think Violence unimagined deserves fantastic tier.
For the longest time I only really listened to butchered, tomb, and bleeding, while not being that big of a fan of their later stuff. Since their new album dropped I've been relistening, and my opinions have done a 180 and all their discography is amazing
Love how high you have Torture and Kill. Those two are their best albums IMO. I’m much higher on Vile than it’s typically rated, but I get that it tends to get thrown in the middle of the pack.
If I was hooked by these guys with Evisceration Plague that it's just OK, means I will fucking love this band!
Bro im excited for chaos horrific!!
what did you use to rate these? Great video also
Tiermaker
Evisceration plague, forever underrated. Sadge! Good vid and review in general tho!
I really like butchered at birth, even more than tomb of the mutilated and bleeding. Bleeding has my favorite cannibal corpse song Force fed broken glass, but honestly my all time favorite album has to be gallery of suicide since the whole album has so much adrenaline and technical parts, but also hard hitting heavy slow parts.
My top 5 Cannibal Corpse albums are
1. Torture
2. Kill
3. A Skeletal Domain
4. Evisceration Plague
5. The Wretched Spawn or Chaos Horrific (idk yet 😂)
I’d have to agree with most of the list, although I probably would have put Eaten Back to Life at great tier. To me it truly deserves that spot, but I wouldn’t put it at fantastic or perfection for the same reasons you didn’t put it higher👍🏻
the wretched spawn is kinda perfect. perfect tone, bass is incredible, drums are very good yet simple. super album.
Looking forward to Cannibal Corpse on Friday Death Metal September has been fantastic
A Skeletal Doman is the only one I've been able to get into. Might check out Kill and Torture
I am probably the only one who thinks Butchered At Birth is one of their best, and one of my favorites from them.
Bonjour super nouvelle album l'un des meilleurs albums avec un son des plus audible et surtout le mieux produits génial
With maybe a slight variation with two albums, I agree with this tier.
Corpsegrinder ans big Ed have the ultimate neck for headbanging.
love the new album. RUTAN really coming into his own in the band
My fav is Gallery of Suicide, “Blood Drenched Execution” was probably the first death metal song I really liked, very catchy.
Kill, torture, a skeletal domain 'd Bloodthirst are my favourites.
Bloodthirst had an outstanding guitar work!
Evisceration Plague is my favorite cannibal corpse song.
Altars of Madness should be S-tier. It’s not my favorite Morbid Angel album, but it’s arguably the most important death metal album as far as influence and bringing the genre to public attention. The original wave of thrash metal basically ended overnight when that album came out.
Vile is my favorite album and has my favorite song Eaten from inside i dont get how people always rank it low it has that groovy heavyness that the bleeding has but sounds better to me.
I'm a huge fan of the whole band but I'll always say it, 1998-2004 was their best era, with Jack and Pat. Personally I think that all the albums up to "Red Before Black" offered something unique and worth listening to, but when Pat left, the albums started to bore me easily, there's just something I loved that I don't hear anymore tbh.
Glad to see there's still people who appreciate Gallery and Bloodthirst as much as me. I'm a huge fan of those precisely bc i feel jack and pat's duo was the best, jack's kind of groovy and catchy riffs mixed with pat's chaotic and technical style was beautiful, for example Spine Splitter is a song that'll never get old for me 😭
Torture will always be my favorite CC album.
I remember when kill came out, people were like "yeah, its pretty good" which now its many's favorite, which i find interesting
Skeletal Domain is probably my favorite CC album. It’s peak CC doing what they do best and making crushing death metal. Kill is definitely up there. I enjoy the Barnes era like tomb of the mutilated but I really started to get burned out when it came to his vocals on The Bleeding. He seemed to start losing steam.
My top 5:
1. Bleeding
2. Gallery of suicide
3. Tomb of mutilated
4. Eaten back to life
5. Bloodthirst
Chaos horrific took me by complete surprise, I've caught Cannibal during each of their last three stops in the LA area. I saw them for the first time LIVE with Pat O'brian during the Red Before Black tour and I was honestly disappointed. I felt a lack of energy on stage, PAT and ROB were so static and it just felt like a workman-like performance. But then I returned for the Violence Unimaged tour on two separate tour dates with Erik Rutan now in the fold, and HOLY SHIT, what a difference. The sound, the energy, and the brutality were just visceral. After listening to Chaos Horrific for the last two days, it really feels like they captured all that energy and chemistry and put it on the record.
The best way to describe the new Cannibal Corpse is simple. Do you like Cannibal Corpse? If yes, go to A) You'll like the album. If no, go to B) You won't like the album.
I enjoyed it, because I like Cannibal Corpse.
The Wretched Spawn is a 10/10
Baroness tier list next!
I fn loved Cannibal Corpse when I was young. Listened to them pretty consistently from 1993 until the year "The Wretched Spawn" was released. I don't know what happened but I completely did a 180 and all of a sudden couldn't stand Death Metal anymore. I literally just started listening to these guys again maybe a year ago. But have to catch up on their albums. Lol.
Thanks, now I know what to listen to first.
I saw CC for the first time about a month ago. They demolished the place. Top 5 concert definitely.
Eaten back to life is fantastic and the Bleeding is still their best album in my opinion!
It’s funny how plenty of great Cannibal tracks have somewhat of a Morbid Angel Domination/Coventant type riffs
S - Butchered At Birth, The Bleeding
A - Tomb of the Multilated, Gallery of Suicide, Vile
B - Bloodthirsty,
C - Wretched Spawn, Kill, Skeletal Domain, Torture, Violence Unimagined, Chaos Horrific
D - Gore Obsessed, Evisceration Plague, Eaten Back to Life
