Condolences to Matthew. Lovely that you did a tribute. Glad the ceiling is underway. It will make so much difference with good insulation and everything fixed securely. You’re doing such a great job there.
Condolences to Matthew at the loss of his Father, James. Got to hand it to you though, your dedication to this huge refit is truly commendable. You thoroughly deserve to succeed. Keep up the great work and attention to detail. I'm sure everyone, like myself and husband, wishes you well with this project.😊
James you are a true gentleman. You never speak poorly of people or react when people are roasting you in comments. Boat is coming along. You are one hell of a hard worker! So sorry to hear about your dad Matthew. Being a caregiver is hard work and I am sure your dad was grateful to have you by his side. I hope you are able to find light in these moments of darkness. Thank you James for being kind. Much respect. 😊🤗 Kathy
It’s not intended to be a ‘roasting’, far from it, they are comments given by people who in the same circumstances would do things differently. Now is the time to carry out the extra work to ensure they won’t come back and bite him sooner than needs be. We all only have Jame’s best interest in mind.
@@boblawrence5011 My use of the word “roasting” has nothing to do with people with expertise and knowledge giving him advice. I was referring to a just a few people that cross the line. They are not offering advice. They mock him, bring up his children, his personal life, talk about him selling his soul for taking receiving items from sponsors etc. If I had the expertise, I would offer it. But as I don’t, I just offer encouragement.
So so sorry for your friend Mathews loss. Going through a the same thing , but don’t have a date to lay my sister to rest. Take a day at a time mathew. Thanks james for being such a nice guy and dedicating your vlog to him. Always said your a good egg xxx
James firstly can I join in with the comments regarding your tribute, very touching. With regards to project 58, have you thought about getting some 6mm ply (about half the width of the ceiling) screwing it to the batons and back filling the ceiling with spray foam so that the depth of it comes flush with the bottom of the batons my theory is that the more insulation the better keeping the boat cooler in summer and warmer in winter Not a lot of cost but maybe saving money in the future with heating
Why is there so much rust inside the boat on the steel walls and ceilings? did it sit outside as an unfinished hull for a long time or was it not painted inside ?
Condolences to Matthew stay strong fella, lost my dad 2 years ago he lived in Cornwall Newquay ♥️ James pleasure seeing you earlier mate, boats come a long way, impressed top man you take care 👍🏼
I have been a Bearer many times. Please tell Matthew it will be the lightest load he has ever carried and the best way to say goodbye to a loved one. It shows your respect and love, and does help with the loss. All my best to Matthew, it hurts - but it will get better.
@@gillgregory6327 that's why sprayfoam is not as good as its claimed to be unless you get the contractor to garenteed full thickness up to the battens, which is a lot more foam than they quote for, plus you get no radiant barrier ( foil) like Celotex.
I bet you never thought you had so much repair to do. How ever since you have worked on Slow Patrol and others. You know to make basic things right before you start the finish work starts.
The boat is moving along nicely, James. My thoughts are with your friend on his sad loss. I became my wife's carer and had to give up work, but stuck with her day and night till the bitter end. I was devastated by the loss. That was 2008. It's still raw in my heart.
Nice tribute James....Stay strong Mathew, I'm sure your dad would be very proud and grateful for your care and love.
James you are such a caring person my heart goes out to your subscriber Matthew.

RIP, Derek.

Your arms and neck must have been killing you after that job! 😃
I'm wondering what's the "R" factor of that existing foam insolation, before you cleaned it off for welding?
Why is there so much rust inside the boat on the steel walls and ceilings? did it sit outside as an unfinished hull for a long time or was it not painted inside ?
breathing
My guess is condensation because of the poor spray foam and no protection of the steel before the foam was applied.
Lovely comment James. Have good day 😊

Rest in Peace, Matts dad. ill have a drink in his honor. Here's to him, the Cornish Golden Geezer.

The hardest working narrow boat channel by a canal mile.
Someone did a rip off spray foam job on that , it's no where near full thickness.
It looks like a really poor job, I agree

The ceiling looks sketchy, like it's all about to crumble into dust.

Progress is being made. Soon you will be cruising.!
Never seen so much rust behind the timber . It's a pity you don't do the same as you did to Sloe Patrol. I'm disheartened cos ya bloody good.
Oh forgot to say to remove the ply when finished and do the whole boat in sections
💜💙💚
This project 58 are you doing this remodel for you to live aboard or to sell for income??
