I'm an American who lived in beautiful Germany for many years. I've owned 3 Golf GTI's and can say I'm a huge VW fan boy. I absolutely love the Alltrack and plan on buying one here in the US soon. It's a shame that VW is discontinuing the Alltrac here. Fantastic review on this beautiful car. Thank you.

Thomas I bought my 2015 Golf GTE because of you. Best car I've owned so far. Left Switzerland so gave it away to friend basically. He loves it more than possibly me now. Now I am in the market for a car a d I simply rely on your honest repotting and my common senses. Thank you.
I know it was posted a while ago but I wanted to add my opinion, the only dislikes about this MK7 generation is the top-hinged gas pedal (the MK6 gen had the floor connected gas pedal, like the BMW, very comfortable for long trips) and then there is that door hinge which used to have an extra stopping point while opening it but of course VW got rid of this also...not the best choice for saving money.
This will be a great wagon for vw in the U.S. A nice competitor for the outback. The 1.8 is a good motor with ~200 torque and the DSG. Cars like this will help bring customers back in the showrooms.
We just purchased one. The same blue with the light interior (high-quality leatherette) and six-speed manual. Great car and the glass roof is very nice.
I requested this and you guys responded. Thanks! I listened to this review when it came out (was in the car) but finally got around to watching it. As usual, detailed and comprehensive review. Thanks again for putting in the time that these reviews warrant and sorry for the late comment.

I am the proud new owner of a 2019 Golf Alltrack se model the exact same color as your test vehicle. This video greatly influenced my purchase. Thankyou very much for your insight.
Very nice review here, and pleasant to watch as well. I'm writing this 3 years, 10 months after this video was posted. 2019 was the last year of production for the Golf Alltrack. It's really a shame because this car was really in a class by itself. I just purchased one of the last of the 2019 in stock: 6 speed SE in black. It's really a wonderful car, and a general all purpose wagon. Buying one now instead of 2019 probably saved a boat load of money as well. Volkswagen made a top notch vehicle with the Golf Alltrack, and it's a shame that they didn't catch-on as they were likely expected too. I think people, in general are only now discovering them...too bad that they missed the boat.
Honestly they should have just gone full Subaru and dropped Golf from the name and just called it AllTrack. Then lift it more to equal Outback ground clearance and add more cladding to differentiate it more from the SportWagen and make it look more like a crossover. It would still drive better than the outback and sell more to all the crossover zombies!
Great review Thomas! There are a lot of reviewers on the internet but your comprehensive overviews are really extremely helpful when researching a car.

This is the most thorough video review of a car I've ever seen. I plan to buy one of these after the first of the year, possibly the manual transmission version if it is not too long delayed. VW is my favorite brand and this should be perfect for camping, cycling and around town. Also the low roofline will be perfect to haul my kayak. It wears me out to load it on our Highlander. Thanks for the excellent review. You also won me to the color. I want one in blue (had a '72 Karmann Ghia in Miami Blue)!
I am encouraged by this review. I really enjoy my 2009 TDI Sportwagen. I hope that we will be able to have another TDI version in the US. The Alltrack is a good candidate for my next vehicle. Thank you for your very detailed review.
Thanks Thomas! Interesting review, especially because I drive a Golf myself. Totally agree with you about the color, the ACC (I don't want to do without it), the progressive steering and setting the center display to display the speed, it's so useful.. It's interesting to see they use the 1.8 liter engine for this version. I think that's the ideal match for this car. I drove the 1.4 (then still 140 hp) for a while and I felt it could do with a bit more power. Usually I don't care much for the 'rugged' look with the plastic mud guards and such, but here (probably due to the color) I actually quite like it. It's expensive though. More than a GTI, from the looks of it. For those, who really need the four wheel drive and/or extra ground clearance, it may be worth it. For the others there is the problem you can't get this engine in the regular Golf, otherwise I'd think a regular Variant with this engine would be a better (and certainly cheaper) choice. BTW: In the Netherlands, I can't find any alltrack at all (no Passat either) on the VW web site. It looks like they are not even for sale here.
Thomas, Thank You for this review. In the U.S. I test drove both the 2017 Alltrack and the 2017 Golf Sportwagen S 4Motion with the DSG and purchased the Sportwagen S 4Motion with the DSG. Lower to the ground is better. It feels better cornering in the dry and wet. This winter snow will hopefully be tackled by the 4motion as well.
Thank You for the excellent review.I have owned a alltrack sel version for about a year, love the car its truely a great all purpose vehicle.Luke Louisville ky USA
Much appreciated and well executed presentation. I agree with you. Golf Alltrack is the best model for everyday needs, for families and others. It is absolutely the most affordable of all models. You can get the most powerful petrol engine before GTI & Co, or the strongest diesel engine before the GTD. The 2,0 TDI 184 is the GTD engine., you get four-wheel drive and DSG. The model also includes equipment that is otherwise optional for other models. For example dualzone Climatronic and 17 "alloy wheels. It is also possible to select black ceiling, which is very nice. The base price in Sweden is 29 700 EUR € which also includes bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, parking sensors front and rear, rain sensor and automatic dimming interior mirror. Driver assistance systems is nothing for me. My specification would be as follows. VW reference code: V39JICRU Selected paint Urano Grey Selected interior Titanium Black Wheel Alloy wheels 7J x 17 Seat ergoActive with 14-way adjustment and a massage function Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) Rain sensor and automatic dimming interior mirror Steering wheel, leather-wrapped, multi-function, heatable, 3-spoke Electrical outlets, 230-volt, in the luggage compartment Bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights (cannot be combined with the Driver Assistance Package) Theft Alarm Parking sensors front and rear Parking heater, remote controlled, with a timer function Trailer coupling, manually folding Exterior mirrors electrically folding including ground lighting Ceiling, Titanium Black Rear view camera Rear Assist Rear side airbags, pretensioners 2 seats and seat belt reminders Dark tinted windows from the B-pillar rearwards Keyless access, keyless locking system in combination with anti-theft alarm Load net Total price: 35 274 EUR € I should mention that in Sweden Golf Alltrack is offered only with either the 1.8 TSI 180 or the 2.0 TDI 184. I had chosen the 1.8 TSI 180, my specification refers to that engine option.
Looks nice in this color combination. Seems that the wagons becoming an alternative to the SUVs. With "light offroad capability" and a more agil driving on the normal roads due to the deeper mass center. Nice review. Vielen Dank.
I like that the American one has a handbrake. I like the Euro-one for not leaving a plug in the steering column where the ignition is on the basemodel.
Ok so i owned one for 25000 miles..stunning looking, very rare, i saw only two others in nine months in the uk.... Was fully loaded and got about 52mpg out of the dsg 190 horses..the car is not fast at all, the 4wd must be heavy as heck...the steering wheel is also uncomfortable which was my biggest gripe...the nav and screen was the best i had. I have a superb now, as im doing steller miles and it suites better... Your review made me buy one though... Cheers mate
Thanks for a great review!! I can't wait to order one soon. We currently can't order one in the US but should be able to soon. I wish they were offering a 2.0tdi here. We will be replacing our 2011 vw wagon TDI with the alltrack. I drove the 1.8 Tsi today in a standard golf wagon and was impressed. I didn't think I would like that engine as much as I did.
+superjoyseph obviously I can respond here now, good, but it doenst work when you are posting an initial comment. Lets try that again in the next video
Golfs are great cars, I personally love the little hatchback GTD, think that's a great car (even if it is a VW diesel). However the biggest problem for any car with heated seats is if they put the functions for it in the screen... I know it's a small and tiny niggle but for me it is so annoying... It's on our car and I just want a button to press and that's it, not have to press a button then go to the screen then press what I want then wait for a delay before I can get back to the home screen so I can do something else. But other than that good and good review :P
+EA - Enormous Assholes thanks! Check the passage again, you can adjust the seat heating also when pressing the button multiple times - but you deactivate the heated steering wheel with that along side as well of course :)
Great review, Thomas! Hello from Canada! As I am considering to buy the 2018 Golf Alltrack after checking it out at the Toronto Auto Show, I had to watch your review on it. I have always bought Jettas and this would be my first Golf as it has a gas strut to support the hood, while the new Jettas still continue to use the manual stick support to keep the hood open (My older Jettas, MkIV and Mk V had gas struts and were an important feature to me). I love V-Dubs and the ones I buy need to be of high quality, and I can see that in the Golf R, GTI and the Alltrack.
At 33:58 when pulling the steering wheel, the person sitting in the other car when u look through the window was probably thinking you put the car in flight mode.
I work in sales at a Volkswagen dealership in the U.S. and I'm proud to say that a Golf Alltrack SEL 4MOTION that's white with black interior is directly behind my desk in the showroom.Your video is most informative. Thank you Thomas.
I just cant decide between the tsi or the tdi. Tested both and liked the tsi better but do alot of driving so better fueleconomy is a big factor. Any advice, or thoughts from people owning them? Live in sweden and need the euro 6 class to get to work. Thanks for your help 😇👊🏻👍🏻
Hi! First time viewer, here. Thanks for the awesome review! I have been dreaming about this car ever since I heard of its release, and following the reviews. Given that it's not a true off road car, do you think the alltrack (4wd) version is really worth it over the standard Golf wagon? Better for everyday driving / bad weather, or is the difference negligible? Thanks!
Hi Thomas! Love your reviews lots👍 thinking to get a new car recently. I m looking for family vehicle for daily drive and pick up kids. Do you think golf alltrack or Octavia spots wagon? Thank for your time
Hi Thomas, I did not manage to wait for this review, and last month my own Golf Alltrack has arrived. Happy for now. I will not agree of Your choice of colour - my opinion - limestone gray - and it is perfect colour for vehicle, that drives in mud ;) I went for 135 kW diesel, DSG, composition media (navi is heavily stolen thing here :( ), no keyless. Everything else - like Your tested. What i dislike - the painted plastic around gauges and radio, no ambient lights at the back. That rear seat rest does not fold to trunk level. BTW - my came with full size spare wheel. And lane assistant system is not available here... You should go to Wolfsburg and make something :) Also - app connect is pointless thing. Especially for additional 350 euros. Thirst, that You have to connect phone by cable, second - native hands free is good enough, and it can connect couple of telephones at once . The off-road experience passed way may expectations. You are basically limited only by road clearance.
very nice video..what do you think about a golf alltrack vs a4 allroad vs v60 cross country head to head..I know they are not in the same price range but they are in the same class
I live in NYC and I am looking for a Golf Sportswagen but want AWD so I am going to wait for the Alltrack to arrive this fall. My only concern is that I fell in love with the panoramic moonroof at the dealership but all the videos and pics of the Alltrack show no moonroof. Will it be available on the Alltrack as it is on the Golf Sportswagen? Also is it 180hp or 170hp?
Really enjoy your reviews Thomas!. I am now actively looking at a replacement vehicle for the significant other. I currently own a 2009 VW Tiguan SEL. Absolutely love it. Will be keeping that for as long as I can. Now, we are looking for another 4-motion equipped VW. I am a fan of the Sport Wagon and now in the states, for 2017, I can get the Golf Sport Wagon w/ 4-Motion and DSG trans, however only in 'S' trim. Have not found many you tube reviews on the AWD Sport Wagon. Was wondering if you had done any reviews on the Golf Sport Wagon w/ 4-motion?
+madoc Good point. Check our Golf GTI here: ua-cam.com/video/s3EL0umq11c/v-deo.html Maybe the difference results from the different seats in the front!
We have the 2019 Outback 3.6 Touring. Great car, but so "soft". Just tested the 19 Sportwagen 1.8, and it's so much better to drive. We are planning to buy the Sportwagen as well.
I'm checking out the Golf Alltrack in America, they're only a little bit bigger than my 98 Audi A4 Avant I'd replace it with. Closest thing to a tiny wagon that's a little bigger than a hatchback we have in America.
+Joju Thomas hey, thanks for asking, we ll try to deliver you the ateca as soon as possible. Will also include comparison remarks to the tiguan in there then
USA version - will it have the upscale digital instrumejt cluster? Is that ANY change of getting a GTI GOLD wagon -- for those who need more stapce that a typical GTI and also don't want the bloated SUV Tiguan three row seats?
Hi I have a question, I have an golf 2016 tsi 150hp, its a bit lower than alltrack, but now I need a family car and was driving the alltrack. I thought it was quite loud over 80kmh and more noisy in idle. The salesman told me that I'm just aware of the sound because I'm litsening to it. What other family car had better isolation you think? Thank you.
A very thorough review. Thank you for helping me solidify my next car choice. I will be pre-ordering my Golf Alltrack SEL in blue in anticipation of the TDI buy back. I will miss the fuel economy but not the noise and vibration. I understand that towing is verboten, but my Jetta Sportwagen TDI worked wonderfully for my small sailboat. Do you know of any issues around aftermarket hitch systems and the new design? Brumenschenkel
all-new new S60 review coming up soon! S60 CC review so far here: ua-cam.com/video/4eUG9j_KrSs/v-deo.html Note that the S60 is in the segment of a VW Passat, not VW Golf. I ' d take the Passat =)
how does the offroad and snow capabilities compare to the Tiguan? I mean the current Tiguan as the new one is not yet available in America yet. The Alltrack is scheduled to arrive in the States at the end of August I'm wondering should I wait for it or get a Tiguan now
Excellent Thomas! I have a red 1.8TSI Alltrack as a loaner car from the dealer, I really like the facelift version. My question is, if I buy the 1.8TSI Alltrack 4motion and bring it to Europe, in today's petrol prices, how much in Euro is a full tank of petrol (52 liters)? Much thanks!
+Scott Thompson Depends on market and the very offer you get. Superb offers WAY more space than the Alltrack. Its a question of do you rather want a smaller or bigger car
+Marcus Lejonkamp I know that the superb is comparable to the Passat, thanks for your advice though. I don't like the Passat though because it doesn't really have the same price point and I don't like the petrol variants. I would be more interested if there was more powerful engine. I'm not sure what the engine variants are for the golf in my country yet.
Scott Thompson Passat comes with a lot of petrol engines like 1,4 TSI 150, 1,8 TSI 180, 2,0 TSI 220, 2,0 TSI 280. The 1,8 TSI 180 is the same petrol as in Golf Alltrack.
+Marcus Lejonkamp incorrect, FYI the Passat alltrack only comes in the 140tdi variant in my country and the regular Passat only comes in the 132tsi, 132tsi Comfortline and 140tdi Highline in my country
+Alexandru Tirigan We have plenty of Seat Leon reviews: ST: ua-cam.com/video/YW0sfUZ5Cy0/v-deo.html X-Perience: ua-cam.com/video/H6yaH0bZTrg/v-deo.html Cupra: ua-cam.com/video/aU43lvrjdSQ/v-deo.html ST Cupra: ua-cam.com/video/aCF0KER8mFo/v-deo.html
I wish I spoke German as well as you speak English. I told German is the language most closely related to English, but they don’t teach it here in the US. I’ll be buying one of these cars shortly.
Very nice review, but it would have been good to have a few words at the end comparing the Golf Alltrack to the Subaru Outback, for example regarding room, ride comfort, visibility, engine performance, etc. That would be particularly useful for those of us in North America and Australia, where the Outback is the obvious alternative given its popularity.
+Autogefühl Oh great thanks! I'm not familiar with the VW lineup but my guess is that the Golf is a smaller car than the Passat, and therefore not really in the same category as the Outback in terms of overall interior passenger space? Once again, great reviews!
Great review Thomas ! I'm definitely sure that it is an excellent Golf with 4Motion and with its 2 cm higher, but I prefer the new Tiguan because it has a higher position and I consider it is much safer, because it is a heavier car than a compact car, even if is a compact SUV and also has a special offroad program with selector button, combined with 4 Motion, having also a higher ground clearance. About the 4Motion system Thomas, when you drive on the normal city roads only the front wheels are moving, exactly as in a front wheels drive car ?
+Autogefühl That's correct. I was puzzled as well. You mentioned ErgoComfort in your video. The Alltrack I sat in at the Toronto Autoshow had the same seats with the ErgoActive plaque. No worries, just wanted to see if you perhaps knew. Danke. :)
I am fan of VW golf and always follow your review and your end comment you leave on cars . It seems to be the new VW cars hit the market on the first July of each four years , if not please tell me when next new versions come out of production line .
Guten Abend from Sweden! Great channel! You Thomas to the best reviews out there =) A question: Which one would you choose between the Golf Alltrack and the Subaru Levorg? with regards David
+Autogefühl Thanks for the quick reply. I will definitely check the first three as I haven't heard them. I love listening to long trance sets when doing a long journey as it keeps you alert. Another great review by the way!
Great car! Thanks Thomas! Too bad that engine is not available everywhere. With the Golf and X-Perience reviews done, now there's just one missing to make the full picture... Skoda Octavia Scout! ;) - bigger, excellent specs from standard, cheaper (I think?), no HDC though. What do you think?
+jibx 34 When considering what you get for the money in terms of equipment, comfort, resale value and more so it is not certain that Skoda is the most affordable option. In Sweden, VW are very affordable if you look at the contents, and are often more affordable than Skoda. Merely looking at the basic price is wrong.
+Marcus Lejonkamp That may be the case in Sweden, but prices for the same brand, same car, often vary a lot from country to country. Where I live Skoda is the best option, but then again that's also considering my subjective needs
+Marcus Lejonkamp yeah it varies ... also from the offers. E.g. in Germany, VW list prices are always higher than Seat and Skoda comparing models, but VW has better leasing discounts...

+artemusje2 good points, totally agree! Hm interesting, maybe they think Netherlands is too flat for Alltrack ;-)
They probably think that, and they're right! The highest 'mountain' we have is apparently 171 meters high! :-)
+artemusje2 better than Maledives, Mounti Vilingili with 5 m :)
Maybe they should make an 'Alltrack Mounti Vilingili Edition' with two wheel drive! :-)

The base price in Sweden is 29 700 EUR € which also includes bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, parking sensors front and rear, rain sensor and automatic dimming interior mirror.
Driver assistance systems is nothing for me.
My specification would be as follows.
VW reference code: V39JICRU
Selected paint
Urano Grey
Selected interior
Titanium Black
Wheel
Alloy wheels 7J x 17
Seat ergoActive with 14-way adjustment and a massage function
Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC)
Rain sensor and automatic dimming interior mirror
Steering wheel, leather-wrapped, multi-function, heatable, 3-spoke
Electrical outlets, 230-volt, in the luggage compartment
Bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights (cannot be combined with the Driver Assistance Package)
Theft Alarm
Parking sensors front and rear
Parking heater, remote controlled, with a timer function
Trailer coupling, manually folding
Exterior mirrors electrically folding including ground lighting
Ceiling, Titanium Black
Rear view camera Rear Assist
Rear side airbags, pretensioners 2 seats and seat belt reminders
Dark tinted windows from the B-pillar rearwards
Keyless access, keyless locking system in combination with anti-theft alarm
Load net
Total price: 35 274 EUR €
I should mention that in Sweden Golf Alltrack is offered only with either the 1.8 TSI 180 or the 2.0 TDI 184. I had chosen the 1.8 TSI 180, my specification refers to that engine option.
+Marcus Lejonkamp sounds nice !
Looks nice in this color combination. Seems that the wagons becoming an alternative to the SUVs. With "light offroad capability" and a more agil driving on the normal roads due to the deeper mass center. Nice review. Vielen Dank.
+RobertCraven70 Thanks Robert !
I like that the American one has a handbrake. I like the Euro-one for not leaving a plug in the steering column where the ignition is on the basemodel.
I really like this car too. nice colour, nice rims, nice review thank you Thomas, you are superb.
+Mehmet Bakır superb community !
we need more wagons from different manufacturers! i want the subaru Levorg here in north america!
I just want 2020 and future Golf Sportwagens in the US. VWoA has killed off the line.
Nice Car and an Test Drive in Essen... Reminds me to my time there... some Years ago.
Nice Review as always, Thomas. Thumbs up..
+Heisen Berg =) thanks m8 !
Good job on the review an this car looks great.Subscribed
Thomas thank you for another great review!
thanks robert!
Just stumbled on this review. Great job very detailed.
would be great to see further comments from you
Unlike 'normal' version, this Golf actually looks interesting;)
Going to test drive one today, thank you for the in-depth review.
enjoy!
Cheers mate
+deadkemper enjoy!
Excellent review! Thank you for your information !
+Carlos Guevara ✌️

+Super Jozzef ok lets try that
Golfs are great cars, I personally love the little hatchback GTD, think that's a great car (even if it is a VW diesel).
***** Oh yes. I didn't spot that, I just saw it come up on the screen and just assumed it was like it is in our car. :P
+EA - Enormous Assholes :)
I love V-Dubs and the ones I buy need to be of high quality, and I can see that in the Golf R, GTI and the Alltrack.
thanks m8 ! And enjoy!
At 33:58 when pulling the steering wheel, the person sitting in the other car when u look through the window was probably thinking you put the car in flight mode.
I really like the ALLROAD !!
It´s a good mixture of SUV and Kombi !!
Beautiful family car
Leatherette in the U.S. and 115 V AC and 150 W power in the trunk.
u ordered that? nice
Thanks for your help 😇👊🏻👍🏻
hm, depends on how much you drive. Less than 20.000 km / year, then the TSI it is
Excellent review Thomas! so hard to choose between the GolfR or the Alltrack!
Thanks buddy! If you have chosen, let me know :)
Thanks!
great that you joined us! The difference is not that huge tbh. Its more styling and if you like the 4WD and drive in slippery conditions quite often
Very nice video! From France
+MrAlgerian38 merci beaucoup copain!
***** De rien monsieur :)
Hi Thomas! Love your reviews lots👍 thinking to get a new car recently. I m looking for family vehicle for daily drive and pick up kids. Do you think golf alltrack or Octavia spots wagon? Thank for your time
hey! Sure both are suitable. Compare our Octavia reviews: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=autogefuehl+octavia
Thank you for the comprehensive review!
+uranomichiaruki1 👌🎬
my dream car!!!
+Jim Dollar :-)
Hi Thomas,
I did not manage to wait for this review, and last month my own Golf Alltrack has arrived. Happy for now.
I will not agree of Your choice of colour - my opinion - limestone gray - and it is perfect colour for vehicle, that drives in mud ;)
I went for 135 kW diesel, DSG, composition media (navi is heavily stolen thing here :( ), no keyless. Everything else - like Your tested.
What i dislike - the painted plastic around gauges and radio, no ambient lights at the back. That rear seat rest does not fold to trunk level.
BTW - my came with full size spare wheel. And lane assistant system is not available here... You should go to Wolfsburg and make something :)
Also - app connect is pointless thing. Especially for additional 350 euros. Thirst, that You have to connect phone by cable, second - native hands free is good enough, and it can connect couple of telephones at once .
The off-road experience passed way may expectations. You are basically limited only by road clearance.
+Algirdas Dranseika interesting thanks ! totally agree to the phone connection
It's like you say, it's not a super sexy car but it's incredibly hard to fault. Very nice everyday car.
very nice video..what do you think about a golf alltrack vs a4 allroad vs v60 cross country head to head..I know they are not in the same price range but they are in the same class
ua-cam.com/video/4eUG9j_KrSs/v-deo.html
I live in NYC and I am looking for a Golf Sportswagen but want AWD so I am going to wait for the Alltrack to arrive this fall. My only concern is that I fell in love with the panoramic moonroof at the dealership but all the videos and pics of the Alltrack show no moonroof. Will it be available on the Alltrack as it is on the Golf Sportswagen? Also is it 180hp or 170hp?
+Norman Ng hey m8, should also be available here. And the final hp figure may differ from market to market but wont have much effect on performance
Hey Thomas! Well that is the one you are seeing here :) Just with a crossover body pack
Are you sure that hatch has less legroom in the back? Same wheelbase. I havent felt difference between hatch and wagon.
+madoc Good point. Check our Golf GTI here: ua-cam.com/video/s3EL0umq11c/v-deo.html
Maybe the difference results from the different seats in the front!
Great review as always Thomas , have you done a more recent review of a golf estate ?
Thanks Mark! yes here: ua-cam.com/video/xBIFe6YfNsw/v-deo.html
Very good reviews. Thomas what car you prefere Golf Alltrack, Tiguan or Passat Alltrack? Thank you
thanks! All great cars, I would prefer the upright seating position in the Tiguan
Thank you
We have the 2019 Outback 3.6 Touring.
Hi there does the new VW Alltrack offer a Head Up Display (HUD) for 2019???
I would like one but I don`t think you can get them here in Ireland. The Passat Alltrack is available but far too large for me.
Thomas, would love to see a comparison review of the new Seat Ateca and the new Tiguan. thank you.
+Joju Thomas hey, thanks for asking, we ll try to deliver you the ateca as soon as possible. Will also include comparison remarks to the tiguan in there then
+Autogefühl Thank you Thomas.
USA version - will it have the upscale digital instrumejt cluster? Is that ANY change of getting a GTI GOLD wagon -- for those who need more stapce that a typical GTI and also don't want the bloated SUV Tiguan three row seats?
hehe =)
Hmmm. .. gute Frage, weiß ich ehrlich gesagt nicht. Vielleicht mal beim Händler fragen?
Tolles Review...könnte meine Alternative zum Yeti werden.
Merci!
Thank you.
+Studio Edin a4 avant if u want it silent!
Hey Jessica, thanks and glad we could help! Why should towing be forbidden?
Hey Thomas, your suggestions between the S60 xc e the golf alltrack? Price not a variable.
Great review, btw, as usual!
all-new new S60 review coming up soon!
S60 CC review so far here: ua-cam.com/video/4eUG9j_KrSs/v-deo.html
Note that the S60 is in the segment of a VW Passat, not VW Golf.
I ' d take the Passat =)
how does the offroad and snow capabilities compare to the Tiguan? I mean the current Tiguan as the new one is not yet available in America yet. The Alltrack is scheduled to arrive in the States at the end of August I'm wondering should I wait for it or get a Tiguan now
+Norman Ng tiguan in us next year. Have u watched our tiguan reviews?
+Autogefühl can't say that I have but will definitely look for them. we have the Tiguan SEL here with a gorgeous panoramic moonroof
+Norman Ng ua-cam.com/video/YP57qj6AmPA/v-deo.html
+Norman Ng and ua-cam.com/video/AhpQSLac3HM/v-deo.html
Excellent Thomas! I have a red 1.8TSI Alltrack as a loaner car from the dealer, I really like the facelift version. My question is, if I buy the 1.8TSI Alltrack 4motion and bring it to Europe, in today's petrol prices, how much in Euro is a full tank of petrol (52 liters)? Much thanks!
Hey! Atm prices are somewhat between 1.30 and 1.40 afaik, so some 70 Euros for a full tank for sure
@@autogefuehl Thank you, that's not too terrible, I can live with that, seeing that the car would be paid off so no bank payments. :)
So what car should I buy? The Skoda superb 4x4 or the golf alltrack? Size not being an issue. Is the price about the same in euro? +autogefühl
+Scott Thompson Depends on market and the very offer you get. Superb offers WAY more space than the Alltrack. Its a question of do you rather want a smaller or bigger car
+Scott Thompson Octavia 4x4 / Scout are most comparable with Golf 4Motion/Alltrack. Superb should be compared with Passat.
Scott Thompson
Passat comes with a lot of petrol engines like 1,4 TSI 150, 1,8 TSI 180, 2,0 TSI 220, 2,0 TSI 280.
Mine was manufactured two days ago - worth waitin' for ... :-)
enjoy ! =)
Do a review for Seat Leon FR tdi 184hp
+Alexandru Tirigan We have plenty of Seat Leon reviews:
ST: ua-cam.com/video/YW0sfUZ5Cy0/v-deo.html
X-Perience: ua-cam.com/video/H6yaH0bZTrg/v-deo.html
Cupra: ua-cam.com/video/aU43lvrjdSQ/v-deo.html
ST Cupra: ua-cam.com/video/aCF0KER8mFo/v-deo.html
This is much more practical car comparing to the standard combi version.
I wish I spoke German as well as you speak English. I told German is the language most closely related to English, but they don’t teach it here in the US. I’ll be buying one of these cars shortly.
Thanks 🙏
thanks would you be able to review the new one when it comes out later this year
+Tom Moseley which new one?
+Autogefühl sorry the new Opel Mokka
+Tom Moseley ahhh ok. I ll try to but cant promise
+Nicolas Vincent yep Outback would be mid-size like Passat, Golf = compact
But of course people also decide between segments, that my experience
Great review Thomas ! I'm definitely sure that it is an excellent Golf with 4Motion and with its 2 cm higher, but I prefer the new Tiguan because it has a higher position and I consider it is much safer, because it is a heavier car than a compact car, even if is a compact SUV and also has a special offroad program with selector button, combined with 4 Motion, having also a higher ground clearance.
About the 4Motion system Thomas, when you drive on the normal city roads only the front wheels are moving, exactly as in a front wheels drive car ?
+Cris FanCars hey cris, yes exactly. Its not exactly 100 / 0 front/rear, but the most torque goes via front usually in normal driving
Hi. Could you please do a review of the Skoda Octavia Scout?
+Robert Backman hey robert, we ll note that down
Is the 2018 european Golf Alltrack a MK7 or MK7.5? Thanks
I think the whole model portfolio should be updated
What is the difference between ErgoComfort and ErgoActive VW seats? Thanks.
+Bojan Traparic the seat massage prolly?
+Autogefühl ErgoActive has the massage as well. :)
+Bojan Traparic the official descriptions are the same. Hmm. It seems like it would be the ergoActive for the Golf and ergoComfort for the Passat ?
+Autogefühl ergoComfort in Passat is without massage, I think.
It seems to be the new VW cars hit the market on the first July of each four years , if not please tell me when next new versions come out of production line .
thanks Martin keep supporting us !
Guten Abend from Sweden!
Great channel! You Thomas to the best reviews out there =)
A question:
Which one would you choose between the Golf Alltrack and the Subaru Levorg?
with regards
David
+David Håkansson Seen our Subaru Levorg review ?
ua-cam.com/video/c4orHfTNOxA/v-deo.html
+Autogefühl yes I have seen them both :). But if you compare them pricewise which one do you think is more value for money :)
+David Håkansson would always go for the Golf due to the way better look and feel
+Autogefühl ok thanks. We probably will go for that one. I have a regular golf hatchback now but need to upgrade to a kombi soon. Vielen Dank!
another great review have you done one on the opel mokka? ?
+Tom Moseley thanks! not yet sorry. Just got some snow impressions: ua-cam.com/video/K5OOa0RCsOU/v-deo.html
Only with "diesel" 2.0 184 hp 👍🏻
Do you favor this Golf over even the Golf R Variant (wagon)?
compare our review: ua-cam.com/video/xBIFe6YfNsw/v-deo.html
I note that you have not reviewed the 2016 Mk7 TDi Golf yet. Are you intending to do this car next.
we got plenty of Golf versions, TDI not unfortunately. But GTI :)
What trance DJs do you listen to Thomas?
+Stanislav .Bratushkov various. But I really like RAM, Shah, Nu-NRG, Dash Berlin, Kyau & Albert, Armin, Paul ... just to name a few :)
+Autogefühl Thanks for the quick reply. I will definitely check the first three as I haven't heard them. I love listening to long trance sets when doing a long journey as it keeps you alert. Another great review by the way!
+Stanislav .Bratushkov exactly :)
+jibx 34 heh yeah u re right thats missin =)
So when are they dropping the GTI motor into this thing?
see here: ua-cam.com/video/M0hF8wgRsGw/v-deo.html
