Love this video... but is anyone else just admiring sams hair?! My gosh it looks so good. I want a hair tutorial and all the deets ( color, tools, products, everything please!!) 😍
This video was so interesting to watch because I had such a different experience. We’ve been using the nursery sooo much. Maybe because our house is small but we do every diaper change in there and I nurse my son in there on the rocking chair 90% of the time. I agree that the boppy is useless but I do use the My Brest Friend breastfeeding pillow 100% of the time. Could not nurse without it because I struggled a lot with position and subsequently his latch and the pillow helped a lot. He also naps in this crib during the day so we’ve used the baby monitor since week 1. Just wanted to provide a different perspective!
GIRL!! Get a mini crib, cheep crib, or pacandplay! Bring that in your room instead of her crib. Its so nice to have a crib in your room and the nursery once you start weaning the baby out of your room!
YOUR HAIR HERE LOOKS FAB!!! Also I find that babies in bows + headwraps to be adorable!!! You best believe I will also have a basket of bows for my future girl (whenever that is hahahah)
Agreed. When the babies are little, they are always with us. It's not until they're like 2 or 3 and start trying to climb out their cribs or something and need that monitor lol
Some companies sell variety packs, go with those. Keep packaging, tags, and whatnot for things so you can try and return them. Second hand expensive purchases are also a great idea. MOST SLEEPERS/LOUNGERS ARE NOT SAFE FOR A BABY TO SLEEP IN. Last and most important, longevity rules over looks and often price. Whether you want multiple kids or not, longevity is the place to look. If it's expensive and you don't need it for long, good quality products can be resold for great prices. The Stroller Workshop is a channel that is completely unbiased and tells you what strollers are the best, and isn't sponsored by any companies. I highly recommend taking a look at some of the videos when purchasing a stroller/pram.
I couldn’t live without the boppy for the first like 3 months I put my baby in it and put him next to me on the couch and he would hang out in there a ton I never used it for breastfeeding just putting baby in it to kind of prop him up and let him hang out with us more comfortably
Love the no stress approach! I feel like so many people over complicate how much you need to have and do before you have a baby. Sam you are right on the money....keep it simple. I feel like so many things just create clutter and stress. Sad you didnt like the medela pump though....that was my lifesaver at work for 16 months! I will say that flange size is SOOOO important with that pump though. Love the video 💕
As a FTM myself I agree with most of this. No nipple issues. I used the Boppy for a short time until we transitioned from the football hold. We have always used the monitor but that is because my little one has been in his crib in his own room from day one. (Our bedrooms are super close together, so it wasn’t a big deal)
The boppy lounger instead of the pillow is omg a game changer. My son is obsessed with the lounger but the pillow I literally never used he wasn’t a fan. The dock-a-tot is still in my packaging. Never used lol but for baby number 2 I think will be super handy to have the baby in that while the other baby is running around.
I have not bought a monitor yet and your reasoning makes so much sense! When my son is here, he’s going to be with me 24/7 so there is no need for one yet!
Been a subscriber for as long as I can remember 💖 my boyfriend already knows who I’m watching on UA-cam when he here’s ur voice lol 😂 I am currently 6 months pregnant, this will be my first baby as well 🤰🏻 so all your pregnancy videos, have been very helpful Thank You!!! 💖💖 All the best wishes & health to you and your beautiful Family 👨👩👧
For breast feeding I used the My Brest Friend and that really helped more than the boppy. It’s foam instead of fluff inside and it buckles so you can get it in a great position and it won’t move ! Deff recommend 😌🍼
Thank you so much for this video. I honestly added a lot to my baby registry and I was thinking I'm going to have to buy what other people don't buy but I can do it by most important first and save the rest for later. And I just started building my stash of pampers pure so good to know they are reliable
Sam you are so sweet!!! I am the same with my babies. They all stayed in my room for a long time. I just like having them close by BUT the monitor is amazing when they get a little older and you need to do things while they nap.I can’t get things done unless I can see and hear my youngest and know that she is safe. Also, snuggle me organic is like the dock a tot but softer cuddlier if that makes sense. We love ours!
Could you do a more in depth breastfeeding video? I will also be at home with the baby indefinitely and am just curious if you also built a milk supply while breastfeeding?
My hospital gave me a hand pump and nipple shield before we left. My daughter had issues latching but we powered through it (the nipple shield helped but I didn't directly buy it). I will say I didn't use the hand pump except when I got a clogged duct. The hand pump was amazing for that. The boppy pillow was a necessity because of the latching.
I bought so many headbands and my baby is almost 7 months and doesn't wear them as they leave bad marks on her head so definitely not a need until they're older. Also get a comfortable chair if you can its so worth it
Omg i could not live without the boppy. I agree is annoying figuring out where it is...and we live in a 2 story house...sometimes its on the 1st floor or the 2nd🥵 butttt i love it and so does she!! I regret getting a monitor too..we paid 300 ..havent even open it! We use our wyze cam...$25.00 on amazon!
Definitely don’t need too many bows, my daughter pulls them off her head! Agree that the nursery doesn’t need to be complete. I used a similar product to the doc-a-tot and it was great but I wouldn’t use it again due to the safety risk. I haven’t purchased a baby monitor at all but I may get a cheap one when my daughter starts sleeping in a single bed in her own room. I love having my daughter in a crib next to my bed in my room and she’s 1 tomorrow and it’s so convenient. I didn’t use a breast pillow or the medela pump so I’m lucky they were handed to me second hand.
This is perfect! I feel like I just bought so many things for our baby die in April but this might help me put some stuff away until baby is bigger and possibly return a few things! Thanks for making this!!!
I did the same thing with the baby bows, my 1st born was fragile after a week in NICU that when she got home I just wanted her comfortable. Onesie pjs were the best! Did not use hair bows until toddler age.
Hi Sam, Honest diapers NOW have the line in the middle that turns blue, they just changed it like this month , they also changed the elastic on the back and looks like the inside has a different texture to it too but yeah I got a shipment because I have them on subscription and all the diapers have the yellow line in the middle that turns blue when wet
Can you please do a video on your current Makeup routine. I don't even know if you are wearing makeup because your skin is amazing! but as a also first time mom I would love to see this as I feel like I never have the time to do Makeup haha
Interesting what you’ve said about the baby monitor. My husband and I didn’t get a baby monitor mainly because of the radiation (I know, I know😂) but I don’t like the idea of high EMF rates near my boy to the extent that I try not to use my phone around him. We live in a flat so I hear him very easily. However, when we go to my in laws home, we often don’t hear him crying because I have to put him in a room further from us so we don’t wake him and we bought it just to use it there. I used to call my husbands phone and leave it in the room to use as a baby monitor but that’s even higher transmission so we got an audio low EMF baby monitor for that
It’s so funny how different things work for different babies! I had blowouts with every other kind of diaper besides honest! They are now the only type of diaper I use!
@@lindsayferber7511 exactly! That’s why I always say to buy a little bit of everything or buy used! You can see if your baby will like it then you can invest more in what they do like and resell or give away what they don’t!
That’s so funny you say about the monitor! I was glued to that thing with my first and now with my second I don’t use it at night. His scream is loud enough for me 😳 not that I sleep well anyway anymore 😂 I didn’t love honest diapers surprisingly! They just didn’t feel as soft 🤷🏻♀️
always love your videos! how many newborn and 0-3 month pjs/onesies did you get & find worked well for you in the beginning? 🥰 definitely wanna go the more minimal route but also wanna make sure there's enough for all the daily changes!!
It depends on the size of your baby! With my son he was so small and we had to order a tonne more newborn size onesies as we didn’t have enough and he was in them for ages, so when I was pregnant with my daughter I ordered loads and she was a big baby and only in them for what felt like 5 mins 😆🤦🏻♀️
The boppy pillow was great for me the first month but as baby got bigger, it just seemed like a fight lol I feel like the boppy pillow is really good for mamas who have had c sections. I now just use it for my boy to chill in. He’s not sitting up yet
I would suggest at least buying one small thing of nipple balm before baby comes because if you end up having pain and cracked/bleeding nipples you are going to want to have the balm handy and not worry about going to the store or waiting any time before being able to use the balm because nipple pain is horrendous with breastfeeding!
Do you recommend the Boppy pillow over the Dock a Tot, or vice versa? I want to get something the baby can hangout in while we’re on the couch or working.
Are you still liking the swing you are using? I have been looking at the reviews and a lot of people complain about the noise, the motor not working after awhile and the legs not sitting flush with the floor? I would love to know you’re thoughts on it at this point! 😊
I would much rather allocate money towards the owlet vs the snoo. I was so afraid of SIDS or her having a breathing issue when sleeping, even thought she slept next to me. My baby girl is 14 months and she will be next to me until her sister is born in June! I love having my baby by me but so nice to have a “watchful eye” on the baby when you try to get those few hours of sleep. I used cloud island diapers until she was a year and then it couldn’t hold the pee. I switched to pampers baby dry now but wish there were more cruelty free options like cloud island. Pampers really needs to get on board. Also download the pampers app to get free money when you buy them each time! We worked so hard to setup her nursery and she still doesn’t use it 🤦🏼♀️ so agree with that comment! We put way too much pressure on moms to have this perfect beautiful nursery and it’s not necessary. Mine won’t even be used until she’s almost a year and a half! Totally agree with the newborn sleeper/onesies. They need to be in that comfy warm material and clothes are hard to get on their little fragile bodies. I’ll keep my second baby in onesies around the clock this time for sure. I just ordered her the tempurpedic crib mattress on sale at buy buy baby plus their 20% off coupon, hopefully worth it. Do you guys still like your tempur? We ordered ours Sunday and should arrive in a week or two, so excited to hopefully have better sleep.
The owlet scares me as far as radiation goes 😫it’s literally on the baby where as the snoo has a metal plate that blocks it! For our holistic lifestyle the owlet is a no go!
@@SamOzkural I didn’t even realize it gave off radiation 😩😪 do you guys just take turns checking on her at night? I literally still check even with the owlet.
Yesss!! Thank you for the mention about blowouts and honest diapers. Everyone raves about them and I don't get it because they don't hold anything in! My girl is a month younger than yours and the blowouts are no joke lol
Hey Sam. I am wondering about your difficulties in your motherhood journey? My son is two weeks old today and boy is it hard. He was born at 36 weeks but is doing great now on his weight and all. I am trying to breast feed but am barley producing any milk. I met with a lactation consultant and we have a plan on how to get my supply up but I would love to hear some things you struggled with. My baby is starting to have bad nights and as well and with me pumping every feeding... nights are rough. Thanks for your input. I love watching your videos and your positivity!
My sister in law was pregnant with her third same time as me and she had her baby 3 weeks after me. Same thing happened with the nipple shield, creams, etc. I didn’t need any of it! But it wasn’t wasteful because I gave it to her and she really benefited.
I was gifted a lot of outfits and bows honestly so the bows wasn't my fault lml. I did buy a pack of bows on Amazon it was fairly cheap and for 100 of them in different colors even had a list of the colors so.
