I would suggest purchasing and reading the book Baby Wise! It is soooo helpful with setting a sleep and feeding schedule. It has tips for both breastfeeding and formula. It also teaches how to let baby self-soothe! When I had my daughter it was literally the biggest help! I had her sleeping 10 hours straight in a matter of weeks because of that book and my whole family uses it! Love your videos always 😘

My daughter (born in February) absolutely loves her lovevery play mat, way more than I ever expected! Our morning routine is I have my coffee and read to her while she plays on it. I even ordered a lovevery subscription box.

Baby carrier or sling was a lifesaver for us and for many mums I know, especially when bub is unsettled and needs to be close to you but you are busy cooking, washing up, groceries or just need a break!

That's so exciting for you !!! I remember when I bought everything for my first baby and now he turned 2 and we have another one on the way. Entering my second trimester this week.. you are 1000% right on not over buying things.. what I found useful for me since I have 3 small dogs, we got this huge playpen from dwinguler. They have a nice one just white and grey if you don't like it to he too colorful but it was big enough for baby to play in it and being safe. I can't wait to see dot and see you guys being amazing parents. Enjoy everyday of it because they grow so fast it's crazy!! Sending positive vibes and love xox 🥰

Good choice with the uppababy stroller it’s really convenient and you can get the adapters for extra height since your husband is tall. Happy for both of you!!!

I'm pregnant with a baby girl due in November and these kinds of videos have been helpful with what to put on the registry! Every mama likes different things and feels they need different things but I'm like you where I decided on the boppy lounger instead of one of the more expensive options. As a first time mom it's all about trial and error! Wishing you a healthy and happy rest of your pregnancy :)

Awwww love everything that you guys have picked out so far. My husband and I have three kids. Two boys 10 years, 7 years and one daughter that's 5 years. The baby swing is the same brand we bought for all three of our kids when they were little. We liked it so much we bought a different one for each kid lol.You guys will love it and hopefully she does too.😊
Hi Sam! FTM to a baby girl here from California :) I loved how simple you kept your registry, it’s so easy to overbuy for newborns! Here’s some of my insights as a fellow mama: *️⃣LOVE the lovery play gym (even comes with a teepee-like cover which is kinda boho too), but what’s cool is that you can also customize it to hang any other toys off of the wooden beam, like cute boho wooden toys you like the look of that Dot would also like to look at and play with. *️⃣I’m like you and hate snaps, and I thought I’d like the sleeper gowns, but they just rode up baby girls legs, and I felt like her feet were always exposed/cold. May not be an issue for you now in FL, but I found the zipper footed pjs to be hands down the best. A lot have dual ended zippers so baby stays covered too! I also wasn’t a fan of the magnetic onesies, but you may like those as an option to try too. *️⃣Get a few thermometers. Ours broke shortly after we opened it, but it also gave faulty readings, so I’d say to have at least 2 options so you’ll have a good idea for peace of mind if you ever need to. *️⃣Spectra (blue one) is the best breast pump. Soo easy to use and quiet, plus it’s portable and has a charger! Bonus, it can connect to so many bag/bottle options for milk storage! *️⃣BEST TIP👉🏽Have grace with yourself! You created a beautiful little human who is also just learning the way like you. Some days will be blissful, and others you will be so exhausted you just cry and cry. Both days are hard, but both days will leave you stronger than the day before. Give yourself the grace to know that whatever you feel in any given moment is ok, whatever you choose to do with baby girl is ok, and whatever you choose to keep private or feel guilt about is ok. You are a badass earthy mama with badass intuition and the universe has your (and Dot’s) back! You may never read this, but if you do, I hope you smile in peace knowing you already are the best mom for Dot. Sending you positive and healthy vibes for you and your family🍋✨💛
What I learned after my first is the items we thought were “essential,” we rarely used. 🤷🏻♀️ Different types of pacifiers and bottles were great to have since some babies tend to be more picky than others. Also, a swing literally saved our lives. Haha!

I just got the SNOO bassinet for my third baby, I’m super excited to use it!!
Great video Sam!! We love our prince lion heart wipe warmer because it’s all white. My babies used to cry every time I changed their diapers until I got a wipe warmer and magic, they stopped crying! I also love the brand weleda for diaper cream, body wash and lotion in the calendula yellow collection. My kids have super sensitive skin and this stuff was the best and so are the honest diapers! We tried a lot of other ones but these really work well for sensitive skin. Only other thing I could thing of was maybe a stroller blanket for when you leave the hospital and for walks. You look amazing as always!! ❤️

Thank you for sharing all of this! ✨ So helpful for the rest of us expectant first time mommas! My sister in law used to do the honest company diaper/wipe subscription & found it super helpful having them delivered on a regular basis! We are likely to due to same since diaper supplies are hit or miss in stores!

When I had my first son I was the same way with my registry, it took me months to build it and I kept tweaking it up until he was born! Lol no registry this time cause we're having another boy and can't really have a sprinkle for him. We also got so many different pillows, the boppy nursing pillow was great for the first couple months. We got our son a snuggle me lounger on sale and we used the heck out of that thing. He slept inside of that for at least the first 3 months lol. Having my second a month before you and wishing you the best!!!

You might really like the Dyper brand diapers! They're bamboo and biodegradable and they're our FAVORITE when it comes to leaks too!
Sam: love so many of the items on your list, think they’re amazing. The only one that really stuck out is the Fisher Price swing. I had this swing initially but returned it because of the recall issues it had. Look into it. I did a lot of research as you’re doing with my first and did end up getting many products on your list (ie Baby Bjorn bouncer) and love them but was taken back by this product. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and hope this helps!
I don’t think she’s getting that swing and only added it to be relatable because everything else on the list is expensive af. The baby bjorn bouncer is over $200. Who would buy a swing cheaper than the bouncer?
I really like your practical approach to not getting so many products that do the same thing. Just a note on baby shoes, I totally agree with you and wanted to add that baby shoes actually impede the baby's ability to learn how to crawl and walk. Obviously they are fine for special occasions etc, but generally they limit the baby's ability to use their toes to move which is super important.

Love your channel and hippy vibe! I have three young kids. Get 2 boppies-idk the layout of your house but if it’s multilevel it’s useful to have one upstairs and one downstairs...if it’s ranch style 2 would still be helpful (then you have a backup if One gets dirty)😊
I also would recommend the Kyte baby footies! They are sooo soft and light weight so baby doesn’t get too hot while sleeping! You can get them on amazon and I think maybe at target too but not sure!

I would suggest getting one muslin blanket. It’s perfect to keep her covered, but not hot. They’re super light and breathable. You should definitely read into Montessori learning if you haven’t already 😄. I think it would be right up your ally.
I use all three Boppy, Lounger and Dockatot everyday, they are not interchangeable! The Dockatot is for sleeping, the Lounger they cannot sleep in; its for when they are more alert, after eating, etc! Love all three 💕 baby is 10 days today 😍 we have sooooo many products in common that are fantastic so far!

Due august 13th!!! I’ve been so on the fence about getting the newton mattress - it seems like the safest and such good quality, but it’s so expensive 😳 I’m going to wait until June or whenever you get your discount code to see if that sells me 😉
Hey hey!! I would rethink the pack and play, if your mom doesn’t have a place for the baby to sleep when you’re over her house. They are so easy to transport and set up. I used mine mostly for when I went to my parents and grandparents so my son had a place to sleep and didn’t have to be held the whole time.
Expecting baby #2 less than a month after you! Your registry seems pretty solid 👍🏼👍🏼 I know you mentioned no pack n play but that’s a top contender for me especially if you have to travel etc! Or even to put baby in while you shower 😊 for high chairs I love my baby Bjorn one since it’s all plastic and so small/easy to clean off! Another awesome find was this $30 froggy fold up seat for when they start holding their heads up. I found it on amazon, it’ll probably come right up!
You might want a nursing cover if you don’t already have one. Also, drooling bibs that are the shape of triangles. It makes the babu look like a cowboy but it helps with drool. My first daughter drilled so much it soaked her clothes all the tome till I got smart to it and put a bib on her. Having a couple is good backup. You look really prepared overall!
You really need to get some 2 piece sets from Lou Lou and Company as well as a swaddle and sleep dress. My son LIVED in them and the 2 piece sets can be worn for months and are super soft and stretchy. Plus the patterns are absolutely gorgeous!
You guys have to get a silk ring sling from Sakura Bloom. They are perfect for pool/beach time and so gorgeous! Seriously use mine for both my almost 3 year old when he is having a hard time and our squishy new little sister. Love love love Sakura Bloom carriers, bonus they are a California company that makes everything in small batches in house. ❤️
The best bassinet I had was with my first baby. It was a cheapy one from target, like literally $40. it had a cute lace covering and was white to match everything. It was nice and sturdy but lightweight and had wheels! Those wheels were literally a life saver. I had a list of postpartum anxiety so it was wonderful being able to wheel my daughter from room to room with me to keep an eye on her
Also for high chair, I really recommend the one from Oribel! Super cute, has that mid century-mod look and has different positions to sit baby in. Newborns can even lay in it so they can be apart of meals!
I love the lounger! I also have the dockatot, I mostly used it when traveling so my daughter had a place to sleep. If you don’t plan to travel the first six months it’s not worth it.
I’m definitely doing the same for my baby boy. I’m due aug 31! But I also don’t want a lot of stuff so I took off soooo much stuff from my registry. This video helps. I’ll probably go thru my list again haha

I didn't use traditional swaddles for my baby but still received a few as gifts and now he loves using them as blankies, he's currently three months. Also, the honest diapers get a lot of mixed reviews but I received a one year subscription from a family member and I LOVE THEM! Congratulations

This is so interesting! I didn't get the momaroo or dock a tot for my first mostly because we couldn't afford it. But those are 2 things I definitely want for baby number 2. My baby hated his swing.
I’m definitely renting the Snoo if I use it at all - way more cost effective and baby will move to a crib around 3 mos old anyway

something really helpful that I would recommend is a diaper garbage or diaper pail. I'm not sure if you were planning on getting one, but it has a lid they are typically pretty thin and can be well hidden :)
The kiinde breast milk storage and pump accessory kit saved me so much time & space. I highly recommend it if you plan on pumping and building up a stash, or just wanting milk saved for emergencies or so your hubs can feed baby. (Also, they double as a baby food storage system as well so multi-purpose)

The Ergobaby carrier is nice but also look into the Moby 2-in-1 carrier. I have a 1yr and I absolutely love it. It has a neat seat built into it so Im sure it's more comfortable. Plus comparing the two, the Moby feels more secure. Just a thought love 💘

Lots of helpful stuff in this video and I agree with a lot of what you said! The only thing I would say is GET THE DOCK A TOT! It’s very different from the boppy! I used mine sooo much and I loved it. I actually had a snuggle me organic and a dock a tot and I loved them both so much! I have both the boppies too and if I were to eliminate one item it would be the boppy lounger! 😁
Ps. My first baby registry was all over the place!! Lol I literally scanned everything lol you are doing great Sam! You will quickly learn what you need and don’t once she is here too. I had to return a lot after my first was born.
