If your baby is falling over sideways, they don't need to be in a high chair yet. You don't need to buy a new one, let her grow into it.

Would be nice to see what products you’re talking about or at min know the names. High chair you didn’t like? Bouncer you did etc.

I know, I saw the description but the original comment states “high chair you didn’t like? Bouncer YOU DID etc.” so, I only gave her what I could.

My rule of thumb when building my registry has been to read reviews like a mad woman and avoid the social media famous items. I've found so many alternative items that have better reviews, and have been trying to also keep the number of items down because I don't want to clutter my house! Thank you for giving an honest take on the really expensive, pretty stuff! I feel better skipping them now haha.

    • @kyliepfannenstiel6702

Yup! Whenever I was searching for something I searched by reviews

It would be helpful if you were to write the names on the screen of the items instead of just writing “expensive high chair”. Thank you!!

So crazy how different people experience things! I love my Elvie pump - I am back at work and use that exclusively. Some other hands free ones that work for other people are the Willow or the Momcozy.

The mybreast friend was amazing for after my csection. They sell a waterproof cover also. Boppy is nice but uncomfortable when you have just had a surgery. I did use it when my daughter got older though.

Crazy - the hand held pump worked the absolute best for me! I tried a mechanical one and nothing worked as good as the hand held pump. Every person is different. Don’t spend so much money on everything right off the bat. Babies need so little. One bit at a time is just fine.

I added the diapers to my Target registry and asked people to only buy diapers from Target. They have a really good diaper return policy. As long as it was purchased from your registry you have up to 1 year to return!

The My Brest Friend has a waterproof cover too. This is what works for me, it’s like a shelf for baby to get to my breast without it sinking in or moving when I don’t want it to.

Nice video, sounds relatable and genuine. Some of these regrets come in all of the videos lol. I try to shop avoiding gadgets that are a bit too "1st world" worthy. None of us were raised on many of these things they do now and our mothers did just fine.

I agree so much with these videos. The companies prey on new mom's with all the flashy new things, but really, it's just a waste of space and money. Completely not necessary at all. I don't understand the diaper genie. I am having our 5th baby, and we never had one. We just put the diapers in with our regular trash, they never stink up the house. We had a wipe warmer with our first. I never thought it was necessary, but it was gifted, so we used it. Not sure if I wasn't putting in enough water or what. It kept drying out and the pad in the bottom was burning. I quickly stopped using it, I was afraid it was going to catch the house on fire. I got in the hype of the boppy and was greatly disappointed. I got a used one off of ebay. It was tiny. It didn't fit around me and it wasn't big enough to support my baby while feeding. I still just propped a pillow under my arm and the arm rest. I haven't had much luck with pumps. I feel like the ones I've had only last a few months before they quit working. I liked the idea of the elvie but it was way to expensive. I didn't know if we would have more kids or how long it would last. Also not all women have the same size and shape breast. I was skeptical on if it would even fit me well. This is my 3rd pregnancy since covid and my mindset has changed. This time I want to invest in more reusable items. I want to switch to cloth diapers and wipes. I just found out that there are bottle nipples you can get for mason jars, which would be great. We have tons of jars already, and I wouldn't have to keep buying plastic bottles. I'm still looking for a good solution to disposable breastmilk bags. The bags have always leaked when the thawed. I want something I can use for storing breastmilk but also use for when I make baby food. I'm trying to decrease the recurring expenses of these items and also less disposable plastic in the environment. I also keep thinking, what if these items disappear from the store like the toilet paper and the formula. I want to make sure we are secure and not so dependent on stores.

i bought the medela hands free pump and i wouldnt replace it for the world. i pump 250ml on average, about 150 if i pump right after a feed. half the price of the elvie and each cup has THREE parts to clean which is basically nothing. i LOVE that pump

Thank you for posting this video! You saved me at least $100, maybe more. I had a bottle warmer and the My Breast Friend pillow on my registry because I kept hearing how great they were; but you brought up some great points on why they didn't work for you--things that I hadn't heard about before that are actually deal-breakers for me.

With my newborn, I didnt buy a binky as he didnt like it (got one for free and tried it, he hated it), I didnt buy an electric pump. I bought the hakaa breast pump instead and its chf20 only plus it works best for me. I got a sterilizer that comes with a bottle warmer. Didnt use the bottle warmer as it gets too hot. Probably because he is still small so the quantity was too little, maybe when he is older it would work best. I did buy a hot water dispenser and its the best for making baby milk. I boil it till piping hot then adjust the temp to 50c so that its not too hot when preparing the bottle. As for baby bouncer, still thinking if I should rent it instead. I didnt get any pillow as the pillows from my couch works. Sometimes I just use my duvey and that works too. My best purchase was a baby nest as I use it everywhere and he is safe and sound in the nest. Its so comfy and he sleeps so good in it.

    1. You. Are. GORGEOUS! 🤩 2. I agree with you on everything and my baby girl isn’t even here yet. Believe me, I loovvee a good aesthetic as much as the next girl and I’ve tried to buy eye-pleasing baby items, but I can’t get myself to spend a stupid amount of money on something just because it’s cute or the trendy/popular brand. Those companies take advantage of moms by charging us an arm and a leg. Half the time it’s not even what it’s hyped up to be! There’s cheaper and more functional items! You just confirmed some things I wasn’t certain on, like a bottle warmer, wipe warmer, my breastfriend pillow, etc. so thank you!!!🥰

I always tell moms to keep receipts and dont take the tags off of anything that comes in a size. Most baby stuff has easy exchanges. My breast friend is excellent for plus size women and large large large breasted women who need help supporting their chest for a tiny. I highly recommend buying breastfeeding pillows from a consignment store or 2nd hand. Then when you know which one you like, if you want the newest model with all the Bells and whistles Go get you a second one. I Found my breast friend washes really well In the washing machine on cold and then gentle tumble dry and set out to dry.

This video is helpful, I am going to be a first time mom so I'll take any tips. I did want to mention that I saw another video where they mentioned if you have a registry with Amazon or Target you have about a year to return any items that you're not using or aren't functional. I noticed this video is 6 months but it's worth looking into.

Probably too late but I would suggest next time you contact the brand’s customer service if you ever have a baby product that’s ruined somehow. I tried to wash the my Brest friend and ruined it and they sent me a new one for free and that was literally years after I first got it (was trying to wash it for the next baby). I learned my lesson but at least money didn’t go down the drain and the worse they can say is no. I do this with a lot of companies and I’m just honest if it was user error
