Yes this works with serato video . the license for serato vid comes included with it. I have it added to numark Ns7fx. It has video controls built in it as well as for comparison to the dicers ... Jazzy Jeff gave up the dicers for this controller instead... Iuv this piece.

Another good review and another good product, this would go perfect with my mixdeck, as i really want the velocity pads and control of decks 3 & 4, and i could remap 2 of the effects controls to control the volume of 3 / 4 with the mixdeck. only down side is its expensive.....

Will this setup work for 4-deck mixing, finger drumming/cueing while being able to do some scratching as well? Coming from a Kontrol S4, I like messing with the 4 channels and button pushing fun but I would now like to play around on turntables but still keep the button pushing with performance pads; not sure if I'm gonna like the dicers, I prefer the extra functionality of the SP1 and the bigger landscape. ***** Hey thanks for reply. I was thinking of only with 2 turntables and the other 2 decks available for running intrumentals/loops/cue points. Just basic 4 deck mixing. In Traktor I use the 4 channels of the S4 assigned to decks a,b,c,d and let's say you got 2 instrumentals which blend well together after you use your filters and what not to have them playing like one new sound playing through decks c and d (both looped), then use decks a and b to mix normal tracks to create like a basic live remix, nothing special. Want to do the same in Serato using timecode and 2 turntables and the other 2 virtual decks, instead of using the 4 virtual decks I use in Traktor. I've never touched Serato or DVS so not sure how it works or if that would be possible with the equipment I've listed above. I'm even thinking of instead of the Rane64 and DDJ-SP1 just stick in a DDJ-SX2 if the price point is too high but I'd really like to go for the Rane 64, looks like a beast and for post fader effects.

I just bought a pioneer ddj sp1! I have a Pavilion dv7 6c60, Rane SL1 and, Serato 2.5.0 When I plugged the pioneer ddj sp1 in one of the USB device attched to the computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it! It comes on light's up And then go dem. Do I need the rane SL2 or a mixer that has a usb port for the pioneer ddj sp1 Or Should I return it for a full refund and get my money back. I don't know if the pioneer ddj sp1 is good or I got screwed. Everything else works fine except the pioneer ddj sp1. Will someone please explain to me how this sampler works because I would to like use it with my set up! Tyvm!
The DDJ-SP1 ONLY works with Serato DJ and not Serato Scratch Live... You need Serato DJ to make it work which means you need an SL2 or Mixer that works with Serato DJ.

The SL1 doesn't work with Serato DJ. You need a SL2, Rane Sixty One, Rane Sixty-Two, Sixty-Four, or Sixty-Eight. OR a Pioneer DJM-900SRT OR an Akai AMX 2-channel mixer ($350 with Serato DJ DVS license)

No it works fine on both platforms. Something else is wrong. Try installing the drivers again so it is recognized. Then make sure you have the latest Serato DJ software and you should be good to go.
DJbooth DJ's I asked him and someone said for tone play and to be able to have cues set on the s9 at the same time. but my mixar duo pads stop working once I take it off cues on my afxs.....so I think there wrong lol

Hy Luu One Reloop Neon would work because you can just push a button to change which deck it works with. I think the DDJ-SP1 feels more solid and the effects controls are better than something like the Neon, but both would get the job done nicely.

There is no way to upgrade the DDJ-SB to work with four decks. You need to purchase a different DJ controller or go to a store to try it out...
