The Reloop Neon is an official Serato Accessory Controller which allows users to unlock the advanced features within Serato DJ for those who are using DVS systems or DJ controllers without the infamous performance pads. The Serato DJ features that can be controlled from the Neon surface are the SP-6 sampler (with playback-mode LED indicators for each slot), Pad FX, Slicer modes, hotcues, the new Flip Mode, and loop modes. Hi Kareem, thanks for this nice review. Just one side note: Regarding the Smart Connection (Daisy Chain) of two units: Its also possible to only use ONE USB port with two NEONs connected. We have included the Y-USB Cable only in case if there is not enough power being supplied on multiple devices. But in most cases, you just need to use ONE port for two units.

looks like a great way to control the SP6 sampler, i am thinking about adding to my Twitch setup to cut down on switching modes on my pads all the time.

I have a NS6.. still.. dont laugh... But I have the LPD8.. Its ok but I would like to upgrade to the Neon or the DDJ-Sp1. Which one would you recommend?
thank for your info but i have a question how do u delete the sampler I have a numark n4 all my samples play all at the same time it socks an d some of the functions don't work on Chanel 2 just Chanel 1 whats wrong

Can I install serato on a chromebook?
I need this for Traktor. The guys from Reloop commented and said they will be making a mapping soon for this controller to use in Traktor. I hope they put up a demo of it being used in Traktor or maybe they will ask you will do it Kareem. Thanks so much!!!

Are you able to turn off the touch sensitivity in FX mode? I'm the type that's just likes to press and NOT hold a pad to trigger the selected effect.
I don't think you can turn that off... That's just the way it works...

+LaCueva BeatMake & Prod It only works with Serato DJ and it has to be one of the newer builds. You need to download a new copy of Serato DJ from the website for free if you already have it. Then it will work plug and play...
I Downloaded Serato dj 1.8 and don`t works in my coumputer, the screen goes black and freezes, but i will fix it. Thanks for your answer bro! Peace

You can't unless you use it for another program or have a serato mixer or interface connected at the same time
this looks pretty damn sick. Question, is there any way I could set it up the pad 707/808/909 modes from my Roland DJ 202 to work thru this? The pads on the 202 are pretty meh, this would be a dope addition for drumming.
I don't think you can use it for the sounds on the 202... That is inside the 202 itself...
I’m a novice DJ-I work with 2 technics and a basic mixer with
no pads, so all of my cues/loops/hot keys/sp6/effects are done through my
computer and/or mouse. I’ve been agonizing between the Neon Reloop and the AKAI
AFX, but I truly can’t decide which would be better for me. All I keep hearing
and seeing about each one is they do
basically the same things but “this one is so much better in this area than the
other”.
I’m only going to buy one for now (I realize some DJs use
both in their setup), so any advice/guidance regarding which I should get
immediately would be more than helpful…
I'd go with the NEON actually because its small and can go anywhere. The AMX is long and larger and I like packing lightly when playing. You can also add another one of these and it would still be smaller than the AMX and you can use them together with one on top of each turntable. They even have small stands for them to sit right at turntable height... Good stuff...
or the Pioneer DDJ Sp1
I'm thinking about using to play my recorded samples, and also hook up to my Korg EMX for extra effects. Would that work? Also, do you need it to be hooked up to a computer for it to work?
+user89076 I don't think it can work as you want it to. It is a USB MIDI controller so that means you have to connect it to a computer to make it work and you can custom map it as you wish in a program of your choice.

Question… does it make sense to buy a Reloop if I already have a Pioneer DDJ SX. TheReloop would give me access to my Samples without using a Mouse? Right? I'll have control over the new Flip feature in Serato DJ? Right? Can I even do this?
With the SX, you already have Sampler control, but not as good as this does with the LED indicators. You can probably still access the Flip Feature in Serato DJ somehow on the original SX, but I'm not sure how. Check the serato or pioneer forums for your answer as I don't use the SX... Thanks.
Got a question. If you have a controller like the Numark V7 that already has some loop, fx, and cueing functions in the controller. Wulle the reloop neon still work? Will it override the controllers functional buttons?
It will still work... It won't override the controller buttons, but it will duplicate them...

You can use these one per turntable, yes... You can also use one to work with both turntables too by selecting the deck you are using at that time...

absolutely yes !
However .. if you'd use Rekordbox to record your sets, then I'd go with the SP1. The Neon cán be used in Rekordbox, I've tried it alongside my Pioneer DDJ-SB2, but it's not working too great. I went with the NEON due to the fact I use Serato (as Indominex) :)

Dj Crazy Eternal Sound This only connects to your computer and not the NS7, so only the supplied USB cable is needed...

What if I have a 2 channel controller such as the vci 380, will the neon allow me to access 2 more decks in the software? Or is this meant to allow you to access the functions in serato only?
This does not unlock additional decks for you to play. This only controls the decks that your main controller or setup has already unlocked...

Dwayne Williams SL1 does not work with Serato DJ... You need to get an SL2 or wait for the cheaper Denon soundcard for Serato to come out.. it will be like only $300...

Im tired of toggling decks 2-4 on my DDJ-SX2 for hot cues. That's all I need the neon for. Cant believe im about to pay $150 (reloop neon) or $250 for SP1 to do that... EVEN IF IT WILL WORK? These reviewers aren't covering it. Can it be on channel 2 while the jog wheels are 3/4? (channel 1 is for my samples)

I would like to add effects seperately to my sp6 sampler. I can’t do so with a two channel controller as far as I know. By adding this reloop neon, would I be able to control the sampler as its own channel and effects to it?
I am not sure if it does this automatically when you plug and play but you can surely use Serato DJ controller editor to Map the NEON to control whatever you want.
