¿Pioneer DJ DDJ XP2 is compatible for mapping in the serato studio?
there is a way to assign into serato different fx to pads like pad mode 2 fx inside rekordbox? Each fx have different parameters different beats length. I would need this customization as well into serato.

Serato is a rip off charging expansion package u can’t control that particular controller. Monopoly
I really just wanted to use track separation with a laptop, mixer and CDJs but this has so many options. Best money I’ve spent in a long time
This thing seems sweet! I'll probably pick it up as an add-on to my ddj-1000 to access more fx controls and dedicated controls for my 3rd and 4th decks!
I think it's a strategic move of Pioneer so that the Serato users are able to also use Rekordbox and see how more customizable and improved it is so they can steal Serato users to start using Rekordbox instead 👍

Thanks for always releasing the BEST DJ tip videos for the latest equipment. Anyway you guys can put out a video of how to combine the PIONEER DJ DDJ-XP2 with CDJs? I cannot find any video tutorials or instructions anywhere. However I do see Pioneers website shows the sub controller alone with the CDJs without use of your laptop!
great controller , i have the XP1 which is my most important part of my performance style , Serato kats are going to love it. And the new transport mode is dope. want to use it next party . if my phase runs out of charge , i can charge it and continue on the xp01. thanks Jamie

I just picked this up because the club I work at has 2 CDJ-900NXS + a DJM900NXS2 which lacked the pads I am used to on the DDJ-1000 controller and it was getting boring just cueing up the next tune. I am hoping this opens up more creative possibilities at the club.
i’m a lil late to the party on this but i’m scrolling thru these comments because i was wondering how compatible they are with cdjs. i personally don’t own any so idk what it’s like to run rekordbox on them but if you set that up right it could bring so many possibilities
@@mk6pot It's more about how compatible the XP2 is with your chosen software... ie. Rekordbox, Serato, or in my case Virtual DJ. The controller interacts with the software rather than the CDJs. I can say that I have used it with all three platforms and they all work well with it. My favourite thing is how you can use the effects with the touch sensitive bar. I would say that if you wanted to elevate your sets, this controller is one to consider. In Serato, I was even able to program the STEMS buttons on 8 of the 16 pads with the top 8 for hot cues in Serato. Keep in mind that this should be an add-on rather than a replacement. For the relatively low cost, it delivers a good bang for the buck.
My question is, will this unlock two other decks if I have a two deck controller?
So If I have a DDJ1000 what new features besides the Slide fx will I have with this.?
Not much if you already have a DDJ 1000. The slide FX as you mentioned and then convenience of being able to easily assign different modes or pads to just one pad mode. So for example you could have hot cues and FX and beat jump all on one pad mode rather than having to jump between different ones on the controller.
Looking at one for my little travel set up, could I remap the slide strip to be filter? top video again
I like how you said this is a serato DJ accessory which means it's going to complement what you already have set up my main question is... "can it be used as a glorified sampler" meaning to increase the amount of pads you have on your controller already or midi those out for something else and use the ddj-xp2 for all your samples. Can you do that with the ddj-xp2?
Seems like Rekordbox got the best of this add controller over Serato.
Is Jazzy Jeff and FX Fade in this machine?
Afraid not, they're limited to the DDJ SB3.
As a bedroom dj with no desire to perform to anyone other than myself I am looking into doing live mashups I am at the point of deciding weather to upgrade my controller to either pioneer cdjs or denon prime 4 but now I am thinking this add on in conjunction with my roland 202 controller would be a more viable solution for my what I eventually want to achieve plus being a lot cheaper. Thoughts ??
hoogle designs same here because the 202 is powerful but just limited space to display its feature. That silent cue is nice though...
Would it be possible to midi map the XP2 with Rekordbox to also have a transport mode?
I use mine with virtual Dj and with a ddj flx6 , works great but need pro licence on vdj

If it had faders it could pretty much act as a standalone DJ controller rather than just an add on! That would be pretty cool to see.

Not sure how much value this adds if you have a DDJ-SX3. Also, I was hoping this would be more along the lines of a less expensive version of the RMX-1000. Doesn't look like it.
I wonder how this DDJ-XP2 is mapped out on VDJ, especially on the new 2021 version.
Can you get away with a DJM-900NXS2, XP2, Laptop setup? Or is there some sort of pioneer move, like nah-uh u need at least 2 CDJs to make it work? If it works, imagine, you get the full club sound plus more control minus the jog wheel, which isn't really necessary since you can program pads to nudge, tempo and grid adjust.
Maybe a separate mixer that has all of my stuff coming into it?

I have the xp2 and rekordbox ddj 1000. I was wondering how I change a pad mode on the xp2 without it also changing on the 1000. For example change the first pad mode on xp2 to samples without changing the first pad mode on the 1000 which is hot cues.

Dear @crossfader can i use the XP1 with my DDJ-400 to extend my FX abilities? The ddj400 only has one FX wheel and it takes forever to change its preset. Im wondering if, buying an XP1 would be beneficial, so that i would still DJ as usual on the 400 but doing all the FX on the XP1 as it has 3 FX buttons on each deck and using the slider insted of the knob on 400? Sorry bad language

This question is coming from way out in left field, and to be honest, not sure I would even want to do it. But can you load up the Rekordbox that comes with the XP-2 and when using the Roland 707M with Serato can I also use the XP-2 with Rekordbox. I am pretty sure that I can't run Rekordbox through the 707M, but could I run it if I used an audio interface directly from the SP-2? Or if I had a controller that ran both Serato and Rekordbox could I run one on half of the controller and the other on the other half? I told you it was a weird question. I will be busy enough with just Serato and the 707M especially since I am wanting to use my MPC Live unit and also Ableton Live. Just thought it might be nice to see what Rekordbox was all about.

If you connect this to a CDJ 3000 Setup, can you directly control key shifting without a laptop? Maybe make a video demonstrating this with a DJM 900 nxs 2 and CDJ 3000s

Dig your channel! Thank you for all the valuable information. Can you use this unit with a Mac book air which only has 2 usb-c outputs? I would be purchasing an aftermarket dongle that would be having 2 usb inputs on it. Do you know if this would cause any input output or buffering issues?
*should* work but depends on the dongle. Powered / unpowered may make a difference but not sure as I still have USB A. It does work through a powered hub for me though.

I’m unsure but it’s unlikely, as controllers with a view of 16 samples have only ever been able to play 1 bank of samples, as currently there’s no view on Serato to show 16
I wondering about the pad modes and how they interplay with the controller pad modes; if I change the pad on this unit, does it also change the pad mode on the controller, or can I have Hot Cue on the controller, and loop mode on the XP2, so I can have fast access to both the controller function and the modes on this?
No you can have separate modes on each for example hot cues on the controller and slicer on the XP2 for example. It won't change the mode on the controller as you change it on the XP2.

Just recently purchased the DDJ XP2 to use with my Pioneer S11 Mixer on Serato
I cannot swap the Sample Banks on the XP2 using the parameter buttons on the unit as I would on the mixer. I have even tried using the Shift + Parameter button , but it doesnt work. How can I move through the sample banks on the XP2 , without having to touch the mixer or the Laptop?

Hi. Why I cannot activate Pad Mode no 5 for pitch play mode? When i hold Shift and press Pad Mode 1 nothing happens. But if I hold Shift and press twice the Pad Mode 1 the 16 pads becomes all white and when I press the pads nothing happens. Is there something wrong with the device or? Please help. Thank you.
