Hey, Luke! Getting out there with your son and showing him a life outside of the new virtual world is absolutely awesome, it's something a majority of fathers don't do these days. Not only are you teaching him valuable lessons in survival and self reliance, but you're actually investing in the future of humanity! Great job, to the both of you!

One more comment. A person below this mentioned Lukey Bear agreeing with you. The communication interaction between the two of you in this video is excellent! The kid certainly enjoys this exchange. He shows a high level of respect for you and for the outdoors. I noticed he placed some "after eating" food or trash into a bag. Wow. I'm sure you thank the good Lord that you child is where he is. Not on drugs, not hurting people, not committing any crime. This is a very important time in his life, and you are there to share it.

  • @bobconar2222

I would heartily agree with the "good dad" tag. I watched an earlier video when Lukey Bear was younger. Yes, he has grown. My baby girl is 40! She still likes to get me into the rough, and likes to try to get me lost! So far, she hasn't succeeded! But we have a ball! It is great that you and Lukey have such a great time in the great outdoors. Keep him plugged into the trails. You will teach him survival skills, and the joy of stopping to enjoy the scenery! Carry on Dad!

When we were in college we were camping in an area... And we were close to large power line towers, the kind that the cut a clearing for and you can see forever down the clearing... Well we saw a light like you were talking about and it was coming towards us... There were hills so you would see it duck behind the hill then come up,,, At first we thought maybe a vehicle but as it got closer it was to far off ground... Well thats all it took and we bolted out of there leaving our camping gear... Next morning we came back to retrieve our stuff and stuff was everywhere tents had been tossed and gear laying everywhere.... We had no idea what it was... Not a chopper either to low to ground

Hi Luke, such a great video, I been waiting a long time for the dancing lol, awesome, Loved it. I loved those huge fields and rolling hills those were my favorite parts, but not as much as father and son spending time together :). When i go hiking/backpacking I love just getting lost out there, no care in the world, and really enjoy the beautiful scenery, But i do always have a map of the area and GPS, so im never completely lost, I'm so glad theres no roads out there where i go backpacking, you have such a great family Luke -Jake

Great video. Beautiful country. You and your son are spitting images. It is great when you and your kids can do things you both enjoy even when the trail isn't so great. I never seen a UFO but you never know. I don't use any windows version above Win 7 as I use Photoshop and it will not work with anything above '7'. 'Bravo 2' you keep busting your moves and maybe you can get 'Bravo 1' to join you. Enjoyed the trek and am looking forward to the next ones. Stay safe and take care. atb Opal

Luke your boy looks more like Sue's side. That might be a good thing!!!! LOL I hate windows 8 & 10 I like windows 7 Ultimate I just built my own system using an AMD FX8350 4ghz 8 core CPU and I am almost 62. I was working on computers when Hard Drives were the size of a washing machine and it had 20 heads to read the data on 10 14" Dia. Platers. Also having 4 meg of RAM was a lot. That was back in 1979 when I worked at Digital Equipment Corp which was brought out by Compaqc in the mid 1990's. We've come a long way since

TheOutdoorGearReview I have no idea how it works in the states, I do know how it works in Sweden. The trails in Sweden is run and maintained by volunteers, and I think all of them have a web page with information like maps, water sources, & things worth seeing. The trails also has shelters on strategic places.
My thought was if it's similar in the states, perhaps you could contact them about your experience on the trail, the noise pollution and lack of shelters or resting places (camp areas).
Just a thought, a trail that is close to nature without noise pollution also attracts tourists as well.
We have a lot of tourist hiking on our trails in Sweden. Ok total noise pollution is hard, but there might be an alternative route not so close to a road. Perhaps trail scouts might be something? (People that's hiking "off the trail" to find or make a new better trail)
Nice new series, thumbs up. :-)

First time seeing Lucas, and I already like him. He behaves like a trail buddy loads more than like your son, Luke, that gives off the feeling that you guys are equals aside from experience :D
That pile of bones and fur, to me, looks like a squirrel that got targeted by an owl. I see no other reason why the fur would have remained in those tight clumps otherwise, it's got to have been matted by some kind of fluid. Otherwise, the wind would have carried it away, wouldn't it?

I also recommend the book. O'Brien is one of the more gifted writers of the post modern era. He really experimented with narrative techniques. While not strictly fiction, it is also not strictly non-fiction. Going after Cacciato is also a good read by OBrien. If you want slightly zany, but with a semi realistic look into the anti-war side of Vietnam; read The Nuclear Age also by O'Brien. Thanks for the comment back. I had to refresh my memory to make sure I wasn't completely off base, but it helped me remember those other two! Take care.

The only issue ive had with 10 is my touchpad dosnt work on the new driver that it keeps updating to so I have to reinstall the older one. My real issue with windows 10 is the privacy issue with cortana and search there is a privacy statement in the eula witch allows microsoft to track everything you do in the search bars and can send it out to marketing. However im one of the minority' s that actually uses linux for everything and the only reason I have windows is rocksmith 2014.
