      @@blue9906 the aeron was the only chair that helped with my back pain and once I tried the embody, it became my favorite chair of all time. The Sayl is also a great chair imho and I’ve reviewed a lot of chairs. I have plenty more “objective reviews” if that’s what you’re looking for. I bought the embody gaming and returned it after 30 days. I just couldn't adapt to it, felt too hard in my lower back and didn't feel 100% comfortable. When I tried the aeron afterwards, I INSTANTLY felt a big difference, much more confortable, my back fits perfectly and it feels really soft.
    I had a hard time accepting that I didn't like the embody but now I feel so good that I returned it. Love my Aeron.

    I've owned both the non-gaming Embody and Aeron's. I'm a huge believer in buying quality office chairs given the quality of life for the time spent in them by professionals especially now with WFH. I totally agree on the majority of your points, the defining choice with me between the two was while I found the Embody more ergonomic and better long term value (seat cushion lasted longer). I ultimately went with the Aeron since the Embody seat would get too warm, and in a home with poor or no air conditioning the Aeron was the clear winner for staying cool with good comfort. I've had my Herman Millers easily last 7-10 years no problem vs cheap big box office chairs friends or family would buy that fall apart after 6-12 months that cost $100-300.
    Thanks for the great review, this is a a great value for folks who are spending this much money on a premium chair for the first time.

      Which is more confortable (butt wise and leg wise) embody, sail or aeron? I can’t try them but it is said that the mesh on the aeron is hard. I need to seat 7hours a day so confort matters.

    • @SShepherd
      @SShepherd Рік тому

      @@nn-qb1bp Aeron has always been my favorite for the above reasons, but the mesh seat pan only breaks down slightly to where it's just a few millimeters of bounce/give that just ends of flexing down as a hard seat surface. Check out their new updated "gaming" Embody Gaming for ultimate comfort with good cushion and supposedly they've improved cooling slightly which was my main complaint that those didn't breath vs the Aeron. They have a 20% off sale going right now during Presidents Day too which is kinda rare short of Black Friday.

    Just got my Embody Logitech a couple of weeks ago. I've been working in offices for the better part of 35 years now and it's the most comfortable chair I've ever used. When the Atlas headrest finally comes out, I can see myself using it as an occasional lounge chair to watch TV on. It's that comfortable. Also, and this is a question of personal taste, it makes me feel like a starship captain every time I sit on it....

To give you my personal experience, I like to work (and game) in about 19-20 Celsius, wearing a footer and sweatpants. I'm about 5'9'', 190lbs. I often sit for a solid three hours at a time (I know, I know...) and have never experienced either excessive heating anywhere, nor any discomfort in terms of any pressure points. With the right adjustments (which took me a couple of weeks to truly tweak) though, you'll forget you're even sitting down. Had an Aeron for a dozen years before passing it along to my brother... I never got super comfortable in it. The Sayl on the other hand is amazing, and I have it in Lime green/black gaming version, sooooo nice for 10 hours at the computer per day. a lot of people criticize the Aeron for not being able to sit in it however you want, but after sitting in it for a month or two, I think that's the wrong way to approach it.
    it passively improves your posture because it encourages a more ergonomic sitting position. and because of this, you won't feel the need to move around as much. your body doesn't fatigue as quickly when sitting properly. I very rarely feel the need to fold my legs at all - and if I do feel the need, it's just one leg, not both.
    if you don't even feel the need to change positions a lot in the first place, then changing positions a lot becomes less of a concern. that's the magic of the Aeron in my opinion. I absolutely love mine.
    that being said, try these chairs for yourself if you can before committing. and thank you Ahnestly for another good video.

    I own a Sayl. I love it because it helps me sit correctly when doing work but it also allows me to sit on my leg or to rest my leg on a table.
    I also have this chair at my office. I hate the fully adj. arms. I went with basic arms for home use and I'm happy with my purchase.

    I still have the Aeron over the Embody because of the following;
    -Mesh seats: (fabric is an immediate deal-breaker for me as I find it less breathable and more challenging to maintain)
    -Wider shoulders: (I haven't tried the Embody for too long but a quick try had me feeling that the top of the chair didn't cover enough of the width of my shoulders
    -Modular replacement: I can literally replace almost any individual part of the Aeron by sourcing it from so many different parties that I never have to replace the chair. Just that one part.
    -Price: I originally bought the Aeron for ~350 CAD years ago from a liquidator. I would have to pay 2-3X that amount to get a used Embody.

    In the end I went with Accis Pro from Profim which I had chance to test last week and it was 1st chair that felt fully comfortable. On top of all usual stuff it offers pretty unique feature that allows chair seat and back to lean left and right with whole body (it can be disabled). Overall build looks better than its price suggest, It have shorter warranty, but chairs I used before anyway either got issues within 1st 1-2 years or not at all and for Herman Miller prices could buy same chair 2-3 times if needed.

    I sit in a Aeron at work. Sometimes for 4-6 hours. If you don't have meat on your butt or hips it can be a painful chair your hip bones and coccyx. I still ended getting an additional lumber support pad. Could be I'm not in the wrong size. I wasn't aware until this video.

    The Sayl and the Embody look a lot cooler then the Aeron (this is subjective but I think most would agree). However, I think the more plain look of the Aeron is a big advantage. People who list them for sale are less likely to know they have something expensive, and will list much cheaper.

    I'm bewildered by the positive reviews on the Embody. Mine came in recently and after spending a week playing around with the settings, it's still the most uncomfortable chair I've sat in. It felt good in the showroom but at home for long periods, it beats you up. The cushion doesn't do a good job distributing weight off your tail bone so you're sore afterwards. You try to alleviate that by leaning back but then that puts pressure and numbs your butt and thighs. When you want to sit upright it doesn't have enough lumbar support. I wonder if there is some kind of trick or technique to it but this review is saying 'this is a chair good for sitting however you want'. For such a hyped chair with all these reviewers, it was a a disappointing experience

  • @shawngee1

    Thanks for the detailed review, but you did not mention the type of material used on the gaming version of the Sayl, which is the same as the Embody. This is not present on the non-gaming model of the chair. In addition, have seen a lot of reviews and even had a Herman Miller representative basically say that the lumbar support is worthless (not their exact words).

    • @Ahnestly
      @Ahnestly  2 роки тому +2

      I mentioned a bit in the video how to "properly" sit in the Embody. I always recommend tightening the back quite a bit but then leaving it unlocked on the first tab. Your chair should "lean back" very slightly for a more natural position versus being rigged and straight 90 degrees. As for the back flex, that's personal preference! I like mine about midway in terms of tightness

      I meant that I don't know how to adjust the backfit. It's supposed to hug you and make you feel "floaty". However, I've never gotten anything other than back pain. The instructions say to adjust a certain way for curved backs and another for flat backs, but how do I even know what a curved back is? It's a bit frustrating.

    Hello - Thank you for all of your detailed videos. I'm going back and forth between the gaming Embody, the regular Emboy, and the Haworth Fern. I'm 6' 1" 205 lbs, and am looking for comfort and improved ergonomics on my "discount" chair I currently own. My largest concern with the Embody is the noise because I work in an office environment with concrete floors. I've watched multiple videos on the noise and some seem pronounced, and others do not. My concern on the Fern is the gap in the back when the seat is extended. I think with my height, that would be an issue for me, but I do like the fact that you can lean the chair forwards.

    • @Ahnestly
      @Ahnestly  Рік тому +1

      Hey! Good questions! The Embody is noisy, but only when you're stretching your back out or moving significantly in the chair. The Gaming Embody is def noisier. At 6'1, you may be OK with the seat gap in the Fern, and most people don't sit scooched all the way back in their chair (or if they do, they quickly scooch a tiny bit forward for comfort reasons). If you're concerned, I highly recommend you grab both the non gaming Embody and the Fern and return the one you don't like, esp since both are on sale right now (sale ends today 7/31 for Haworth and tomorrow 8/1 for Herman Miller). The gaming is def noisier and "louder" in terms of aesthetics for an office environment. Hope this helps and please consider using my links if you pick up! Helps the channel a LOT!!
