I've been wearing the black high top Whitin, which is a desert boot style. They have no insole and are reasonably wide and roomy. For a $45 barefoot boot I'm impressed. After 3 months of daily wear they are holding up well. I'll likely continue buying these unless I decide to spend 3-5 times to try Freet or Vivobarefoot.
@@andrewgarcia161agreed overpriced garbage. Rather take Freet, Xero, Or Be Lenka shoes for running. Xero running shoes don't look like something a kid drew out in a picture anymore 😂
I’m a male, mid 60s…..and have taken to the “zero drop, wide toe box” shoe style to do all my backpacking, bikepacking, running, hiking, etc. I own a pair of these Whitins. For the price, I’ve been pleased….comfortable, durable…and I really like the lace system. If I have a complaint, I did add a slightly better insole…no baggy there….but why the fake “toe nail and toes” toe cap, I haven’t a clue. Just stupid looking. Still, fairly good deal. Good review, ma’am.
That cheap five toes shoes i love that despite being a cheap product but working well for me as a minimalist runner. Been use for ultra 50k trail run and it is great awesome.
I've the yellow pair (though mine are gray) and I agree with Anya's summation. Further to sole width. Yes, by barefoot standards it's on the narrow side -- my size 43 removable insole is ~102mm wide at the toebox -- the lack of structure and pliability of the fabric upper allow for toe splay and relatively uninhibited foot movement. I've been wearing the Whitins, sans insole, for about 6 months casually -- no running -- and they're holding up nicely with no undue signs of wear. So, if you're on a budget and are curious about barefoot shoes the Whitin is a good place to start.
Whitin now makes those casual shoes in an extra wide width, they are really great! On their main shop page you can click “wide barefoot” and all the shoes are about as wide or wider than the orange sneakers in this video.
Helpful review, especially that shoe fan at the end. Where would you place zaqqs and wildlings in this fan? I'm pretty sure you've tried wildlings (not so sure about zaqqs)
I seriously love these shoes I got the 1_black minimalist trail...Seemingly they hold up better than the other colors/fabric...I like them better than my Altra superior & Luna sandals...I wear 11.5 and since they dont have .5 on all size I went down to 11 and they fit great
Hi there. Thanks for the video. Could you please ask your husband which size of shoes does he wear usually in cm. I wear 30cm shoes (it depends on the model - i have nike 45eu, asics 47eu) Since i live in Europe and cant give it try in us and then return, then i struggle with selecting the size of the shoes, should i buy 12 or 13? Thanks in advance.
Any experience with the TSLA (possibly also branded as Tesla) barefoot shoes? There’s a $40 barefoot one that’s an almost direct knockoff of the merrell vapor glove and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the risk
I bought the Whitin and the TSLA at the beginning of the pandemic. The TSLA is really thin bottomed, so if you're starting to transition to barefoot shoes, they will take a lot of getting used to. Also the sole wore flat and the seam between the upper and the sole came apart at the toe. The Whitin has fared better, and has a thicker sole which makes it easier to get used to. I just ordered a new pair because the rubber that the velcro strap laces through is tearing apart and will not last long. I did not order a replacement for the TSLA.
Thank you for the shoe fan as it’s so helpful. Most of my shoes come from the far left with the exception of the Lems. Now I know why the Lems Primals forefoot feels too floppy. Is this available as an image on your website?
The Shoe Fan, yes it is! This Whitin review is now on anyasreviews.com as a written blog post, and the image is included there. Sounds like you have narrow or average width feet!
@@anyasreviews I have low volume feet like you. They are not super narrow and I think have gotten wider across the forefoot from wearing minimalist shoes for several years now.
Great review. How narrow is ur feet? I have a very narrow 9cm / 3.55” men shoe width, so a friend recommended me to try women size shoe to see if it’s more comfortable for me.
From a foot tracing, my feet are 9.3cm wide and 23.2 cm long. For my length, that is a wide foot. If you are proportionally narrower than that, the women's casual sneakers might be a perfect fit.
Personally I wouldn't, I don't think they'd drain well. But there are some affordable barefoot water shoes for cheap in this list: anyasreviews.com/affordable-barefoot-minimalist-shoes/
Oh that is super tough. I can narrow it down to a few of my top. Wildling, I always end up reaching for those when I am in between reviews/shoe testing. Be Lenka, their winter boots are so good and soft, but also so many cool sneakers. Shamma Sandals, hands down my favorite sandal brand for comfort and practicality. I also am pretty obsessed with Groundies for fashionable options, I want everything they sell and they're really comfortable. But If I truly had to narrow it down to only one single brand for the rest of my life it'd be the Drifter Leather. Not practical, because they're so hard to order from, but they are possibly the most comfortable shoes I own because they fit my own foot perfectly.
Hey there! I wrote about the Super Goats in this blog post: anyasreviews.com/shamma-sandals-review-barefoot-running/ They're really good sandals, very high quality. In the end (in the months after I published that review) I ended up falling in love with my Warriors the most, but I also love all the leather covered sandals from Shamma. They're super comfortable.
I don't like their owner's politics, but many big corporations are leftwing dingbats too. And a lot of small companies sell through amazon. Just sayin'...
I ran an ultra marathon in the casual shoe you showed. Good brand.

I didn't know they had a high top, where did you find it? I only see low top sneakers available. But yeah, for the price it's a pretty solid shoe.
Vivo quality has gone downhill … literally run 5 miles a day and their soles have made a hole after 3 months.

your reviews are amazing! i'd love to see a review of joomras
I have that brand and love them. I find that shoes are comfortable based on individual .
Have you use them in the water? or got them wet?

I got my Whitin Shoes off Aliexpress for £12, and I have been wearing them for over a year,
Oh I’m getting black ones! THANK YOU
We really love our whitins
Ok, are they neoprene or just feel like it? I’m allergic to neoprene so I’d like to know before I buy them.
affordable & decent product
Anya dd you say the list of shoes from narrowist to widest was on your website? Thanks!

How can I get shoes for flat and wide feet

I live in Thailand these $40 amazon black shoes, with currency exchange and shipping end up costing $110 cnd, not so cheap for cheap.

Hey, Anya! Your Barefoot Shoe Finder is broken. Help! 👋
How much do they weigh?
hey anya u got the only Super Goat Review i can find on youtube but there is no audio. can u tell me if u liked it or not?

I can only find these shoes for sale on Amazon. No one should ever buy from that company.
Really? Just because you can only find them on Amazon, "no one should ever buy from that company"? Smh...
I don't like their owner's politics, but many big corporations are leftwing dingbats too. And a lot of small companies sell through amazon. Just sayin'...
Right, I'll stay away from these. They look like cheap knock-offs of serious brands (perpetrated by Amazon-related companies, no doubt about it)
