The stride you took at 2:55 makes me think of Bat and and Robin walking up the side of a building... lol.... when they'd have those celebrity appearances.
Thank you for doing the review. I just finished a DIY home build with a 6/12 Pro Snap roof and 8.4kW array. I was was very interested in these boots, but I couldn’t find a through review bay someone trustworthy. Thank you for all the info you share.
I had some old Reebox that would melt/stick to the metal pretty good back when I did my roof back in '04 but, these magnetic work boots have a lot more potential and look like the way to go!
That zig-zag pattern on the sole reminds me of the Sperry Topsiders (boating shoes) which are designed for wet decks on yachts. These should be cool with the magnets as well.
My own expoerience as a roofer : The steel walkers worked great the same day we installed a new steel 6:12 roof. I could walk right up the slope with no assist. The next day, with less than 24 hours of dust and pollen on the roof, the boots were useless. I was very disappointed.
@@bradghaigh Hey if somebody bought it a first time they'd buy it a second! :) And don't forget coins! We'd be racking in the money.....if we were using a rake.....you know what I mean. ;P
Wow! Loving it! Guys, my son who has a baby on the way started Roofing a few months back, but now it is almost Winter. Calgary Alberta, Canada has super cold winters. Is there a Cougar Paw that is good for the cold? I need an awesome Christmas Gift to keep that small family safe! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Love Mom
Where are the videos of the building being assembled? I was very much looking forward to seeing those videos of that building being assembled. If you don't have them posted yet I hope that you do so soon.
Thank you for the video. How strong are the magnets? Are they likely to trip you up when you step? I used to do commercial roofing and also know alot of Iron workers so I am curious about these.
Without searching I thought they made some kind of bottom that snaps on those for walking around on other surfaces without picking up metal? I might be thinking of another roofing shoe though.
@@engineer775 Very true, I have damaged roofs and had to repair them. Some are not structurally strong enough for someone my size. Plus, I'm getting too old and arthritic to be getting up there.
Engineer775 Are you concerned with metal shavings sticking to the soles and scratching prepainted metal roof panels as you work on them? That pre painted stuff is expensive and your clientel might not like it if they get scratched.
Hey! Thank you for the review! Are they good for summer when it is +30 C? Is there any other alternative boots that you could suggest for summer period? Thank you in advance. Ed.
Stunning product, you also can recover the magnets when the boots are worn down and use the magnets for various other projects, awesome

Big balls to work on a 6/12 steel roof... harness and shoes aside. Scary stuff. Cheers! Chris.

I just finished my first week at my new solar installation job. Today I just got my cougarpaws.
You get the coolest stuff on your channel.
Plus I continue to find your channel spanning across so many topics that
are relevant in todays climate.
The video I was looking for. Solar installer here 12 years

These boots remind me of the gravity boots from The Expanse. "It's like walking around in pumps!" LOL
i could see picking up nails and staples could be a BIG problem
Wow, these are awesome, and comes with a cleaning tool? Thank you. And they look cool too.

Man! I just did a small job on a pitch of 3 in 12 and it was horrible walking on it! Thanks for the info!
Those would be epic for picking up nails, steel casings, and jewelry on a beach you just have to walk around. :P
Don't really want iron based jewelry

So cool. Thanks for sharing.
Will drill shavings stick to the bottom and make it slick? Never mind, you answered my question.
I advise south pole toward the user , north pole toward the steal
i need a pair of them for metal roofing
Are they work fine with wet roof?
Where I can find this shows? Can u send me info I Will apreciate
How well do they work on a 12 12
I'm a house painter are they worth it because I'm starting to come across alot more metal roofs and I'm sick of sliding down the roof with a bucket
That's cool with the magnetic cleaning tool!
Wouldn’t walking around with metal scraps stuck to the bottom of your shoes on the roof just end up scratching the paint on it
Thank you for the video.

Hey, where can I find those boots at?
interested to know how they do f the roof is wet? can anyone help?
you should put tape on the cleaning tool to make cleaning it quicker
just what I was going to say
Where can I get those boots
I wish i knew about these when i installed panels on a church that was a 50 tilt...
looks like the same soles they use for climbing shoes. I have mountain biking shoes that use the same type.
Ill buy a pair only if i can walk upside down 😀
Cool boots you can put on your frigerator
How are they on a wet metal roof???
Without searching I thought they made some kind of bottom that snaps on those for walking around on other surfaces without picking up metal? I might be thinking of another roofing shoe though.
there's a roofing version of these shoes without the magnets for shingles that have a velcro pad on the bottom that can be replaced.
Where do you buy them
Where I live, those would be picking up the magnetite from the dirt. They also only go up to a size 14, useless for me.
You probably shouldn't be up on a roof causing damage anyway.

@@engineer775dumb review, get the guy to walk the wall like Spider-Man or something
sweet! ty
Very Nice! Thanks!
Have you been to that site before Scott?
I could swear that I have seen those two wind gens in another video.
Yes, We went back for a system upgrade, additional panels, Sol-Ark inverter, ACDC12C minisplit, etc.
Nice! :)
Glad they got you guys for the upgrades!

Nathan D ooo never thought about that! I guess you’ll just have to keep the roof cleaner
I pressure wash a lot of metal roofs. Will they work well when the roof it wet?
Did you ever get a pair? I’m looking at them for the same reason
@@3441ars I have not gotten any yet unfortunately

I've heard Thorogood boots are good I just ordered some but I plan to use them for shingle roofs.
6/12 and he is walking it. stones
Can I use them on residential homes roofs?I'm a window cleaner.
Yeah if the roof is steel or galvalume
I had cougar paws all over me in the moose lodge parking lot one night
Would the magnetic work on aluminum roofs
NO
Cuanto cuesta ese bota donde puedo conseguir
i am buying a pair. Installing a metal roof on my garage.
Looks like you don't need a ladder just walk up the side of the wall with your repel rope.
Pov you wear them to schoopl and you have a wall pike that everyone :😮 SLIDER MAN but ij ront think thats possible
👍
Wait til some piece of metal gets on your boot that’s silly come on boys what’s a roofer coming too these days
Galv alum is still steel
Not on this planet. Guess you never had any basic metallurgy classes huh?
There is galvanized and galvalum metal roofing, both are steel roofing.
Magnets would be a deal breaker for me. You'll destroy the paint on a roof in heartbeat like that.
With a name like McFeeters you have my attention. How will we destroy the paint?
Metal shavings from drilling attachment holes will stick to the soles. I mean, the magnets are a cool idea, but not very practical for solar.
Scratches paint every time
