Just installed my MM3 this weekend. I had a chance to drive the truck last two days in MPG tune. The lie-o-meter claims I’m getting 25mpg on the highway. I filled up and reset my trip meter. I’ll check it again with simple math after I go back to half tank. It will be a combined hwy/city mileage. So far, so great. The truck shifts better than new.
Any update on your MPG?
@@lionsdejudah yes plenty of updates. First is the current trip I’m on. Headed from Denver to Dallas. Family of four, hauling my topper and about 2-300 pound of camping gear. Keeping highway speed of 65-70, I’m getting 19.9-20.4 MPG. (Calculated at the pump) headliner meter claims 22.5, close but not exact.
Towing on three different occasions a 8500 pound RV, only up and down Colorado mountains, I get 9.5-10.5 at best. Plenty of power, still no issues. MPG tune is great, Tow tune is hit and miss. I think it has more to do with my torque converter getting tired. May be close to a build on my 48RE

@@lionsdejudah lol is that good or bad?
I have the smarty touch and cant find anything about it on the internet and i want to find out about the advanced tuning with the cathcer levels timing levels torque levels rail pressure levels but theres nothing about it anywhere
Is it necessary to send the chip in as soon as you get it or can it be used without that because how you explained it it sounded like a custom tunes kinda deal
I have a 17 cummins 2500 I deleted and installed MM3 tuner at 118,000 miles all was good. I think I messed up at about 175,000 miles and let a shop talk me into doing a transmission flush. Over the next 10k miles the trans started throwing errors until it finally went out. I got a new one installed and it is doing good beside it has a hard time shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I am still only 1,000 miles in to new transmission so not sure if it needs to break in more. But I got to thinking could this be a tuning issue? Is there a way to rest tuner before I go through having to try and deal with the trans company with a warranty situation? Trans has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty.
did you ever get it figured out ?
You note the EGT probe is at your turbo rather than on the exhaust manifold. Is is located pre-turbo or post? Thx

I’m looking at getting a tuner for my truck. It’s an 05 Cummins ram 2500 with 6speed 4x4. Stock everything except intake tube and cold air intake and straight exhaust. Looking for tuner now and a performance clutch for heavy towing, daily driving, and fast street runs for having “some” fun. What would you recommend?
For a stock truck I'd go with the MM3+EGT Probe and 4 tunes: MPG, Tow, Street and 12 valve performance www.5-9diesel.com/product/custom-tuning-package/
i received a smarty in the mail and i plugged it into my computer using a regular usb cable and it didn’t turn on it just had a black screen is that normal or no it blinked red and green but the screen never turned on.
It won't turn on that way, you need to fully assemble it and plug it into your truck with the key on.
How’s the engine rebuild holding up for you??
Still going strong!
Do the tunes come with the mm3 if I purchase the mm3 monitor and the max tuning package with the on the fly option? Or do I have to send the stock ecm file first
Kaleb you email the stock file 1st
will the smarty over ride previous tunes, I have a used 05 that had no tuner but was told it had a previous tune of a unknown vendor
Yes it will have no issues with a previously tuned truck.
@@DieselCamper do you have to add sensors to get trans temp ,boost and fuel pressure
@@kellydavis4954 no it reads those off of the trucks computer
Is the RT cable necessary when installing the mm3?
ship to northern california? really interested in tuners specifically yours but i hate this state lol 07 5.9
You have to have an out of state shipping address, billing address can be in CA.
@@DieselCamper also for emissions testing how would i flash it back to the stock oem tune or does it save the oem tune onto the tuner itself & just revert it to stock whenever?
Please email robd@5-9diesel.com for more info
Will this work for 03 cummins
Yes, engine tuning only
Can you switch on the fly tunes on a early 2004 5.9 cummins?
He has the tune on the fly listed as 2004.5-2007. Easiest way to tell is look and see if your 2004 has a catalyst. Assuming it hasn’t been deleted, and it was equipped OEM, it’s a 2004.5. Also you can look at the valve cover, driver side, and see what year of manufacture and what horsepower it is. The 2004.5 was a 50 state emission legal engine wi the a rating of 325HP/600lb-ft
As it stands now it is for 04.5+ trucks
WTF is MM3?
