Flapping her gums AND tapping her thumbs...what a great custodian of the roads. Fully merited her points!
She probably spent the next part of her car journey texting her friends about the awful man who pointed out she was using her phone. And the remainder of it replying to the replies.
….so it’s…..kindaaaaaaa.. ..Mikeyy’s fault? 👀 jk jk
@@sabni8668 That's exactly what they think. All the world's woes laid at Mikey's feet.
Not expecting that life changing letter
And she will blame Mikey for the fine and huge increase in the insurance.
@@sabni8668It's always the cyclists fault. I had one situation in which I was cycling to the cycle box at a junction, lights were red and the lead vehicle driver was typing into Whatsapp. I was next to their vehicle for a while and they continued typing away- clear use of the phone held in both hands. The lights changed to green and they sat there blocking the road, typing away, completely oblivious. I knocked on their window to alert them. It went to court and the driver's defence was that despite quite clearly being on Whatsapp they were actually "ringing their husband" and that the sole reason for their phone use (IE the reason them "ringing their husband" was okay) was that they were scared due to the fact that a cyclist had knocked on their window- ignoring the fact that that only happened after the phone use had been happening for quite some time resulting in quite evident impairment all recorded and played in court in 4k 60fps. You could see the magistrates trying not to laugh! Rather unsurprisingly it didn't work. Instead of taking the FPN and getting a small fine they got an even bigger fine and still got the points. Personaly I think they should have been given contempt charges- if quite clearly telling a pack of fibs and hoping that a magistrate is a gullable idiot isn't showing the court contempt I don't know what is.
I think there’s also a fine waiting for her for deliberately driving in the cycle lane as well as her fine and 6 points for the cell phone. You did great 👍
Dashed line "Should not" rather than solid "must not" lane
@@SteveLoughran Which means, like all 'should' rules it's a section 3ZA(2) offence
What a shitty move - deliberately blocking the cycle lane. Hope she enjoys her points.
She definitely blocked the cycle lane
so mickey went straight around , nice one .@@tightbloke5520
She’ll be looking at a hefty fine.
She did block the cycle lane but unfortunately it's defined by a broken line rather than a solid line which means it's not a mandatory lane and drivers can ignore it if they feel like it.
I've never personally seen any cyclists in Doncaster use the road or lanes. Always the pavement
You are just an absolute legend mate! The Government should be paying people like you for catching these infuriatingly selfish idiots!
I bet her gums were more than flapping when the Section 172 came through the letter box. Then it would have been all about how she could get to the shops, the hair dressers and pick the kids up if I lose my license , but no thought on the lives Mikey could have just saved.
Another Mercedes! She just couldn't help herself. She was so focused on her phone that she didn't even notice you!
She was completely in the wrong, but it makes no difference if people drive Mercedes or a mini it’s all the same.
The vast majority of "expensive cars" are driven by entitled twits.@@jonharry6293
@@jonharry6293 Well the point is, most of the people caught by Mikey are driving Mercedes, BMW, Audis, Range Rovers, etc....The wealthy among us.....The "entitled".
@@scotam02Not all of them are wealthy, many are on average or lower incomes financing these vehicles to feel superior to others
@@tortozza No doubt. Well said.
She will be flapping her gums even more when she receives her post. Will the police do anything because she was deliberately blocking the cycle lane?
Another poor example of today's motorists caught on camera.
Keep up the good work Mikey! 👍
Great to see my old workplace at the end of Battersea Bridge
That street corner ? 😉
it would be bad enough if it was in the countryside, but fiddling with a phone while trying to negotiate central london traffic is a hundred times worse - an accident waiting to happen!
Keep up the good work Mikey. Great to see that your chanel has grown since the Gandalf days, helping to raise awareness of road safety and dispense justice to the 'don't care' brigade.
Just watch out for those reverse lights when you follow them.😉 You have had your fair share of lunes, please be careful.❤
Thank you CM. KBO
Keep up the good fight Mikey.
I ride (and drive) in many of the areas you ride and I don’t ride with a camera (though I fully support those who do).
It always makes me laugh when people think you must put effort into this. I would say in most traffic lines in London you will find at least one driver holding and using a phone.
Cities have given us cyclists meager space to "separate" us from car traffic, but still car drivers can't help but trample all over it 😑
To those that say, they are doing no harm as they aren't moving. I saw one this morning playing with her phone, when the traffic started moving again she continued using the phone with both hands on the phone and trying to steer with her knees. These people are dangerous.
when they sell people smartphones they should make them sign an agreement "I will never have a smartphone within reach of a drivers seat, and if I do, I agree to 30 days in jail"
Looked a bright but chilly day! I don't get the "social media at the lights" thing. I have a small amount of understanding of people that unwisely use their phone in order to do something with navigation apps when at the lights (rather than parking up to do it) but social media? The one that annoys me the most is Instagram as it's mostly vacuous at the best of times. Call me strange but I've never felt a sudden requirement to look at an Influencer's recent holiday posts while driving. Hopefully though the 6 points sting more when the phone use was for such a superficial reason IE was it really worth it? I guess that's for the phone drivers to decide when they get their next insurance premium (assuming they're not on the big red car replacement service).
On a side note, nicely wrapped up for a beautiful cold crisp sunny morning ride
It was freezing LOL!
@@CyclingMikey lol saw you're breath lol. Least you had warm gloves and hat XD
My main thought on the video was simply that it looked like a beautiful day.
@@roaduser6438🙂
Btw is it allowed to use augmented reality glasses in the car?
Nope
Thanks Mikey
another one bites the dust 👍
I am not a robot
Quick question Mikey did I see an insta 360 in a recent clip of yours? If so whats the footage like for evidence collection? Admire what you do but there seems no end of rule breakers out there 😉
It's not as good as a head mounted GoPro for capturing phone drivers.
@@CyclingMikey i often catch red light jumpers, do think head mount is a better bet for image quality though. Keep up the good work 👍
Looks like she was trying to intimidate you by blocking your progress in the cycle lane. Same thing happened to me recently when a BMW driver decided I was taking up too much of his road to overtake. When he did, he kept turning into the cycle lane to stop me carrying on.
I take road safely very seriously. In the past i have reported drink drivers.
Good catch Mikey 🙏🏻
Thank you
Did not like being caught out and then trying to get to go in front to intimidate you, to me the driver new that it is illegal to use the phone.
Well done, again, sir.
Is your speedo on your bike in MPH or KPH? If its MPH she was speeding as it read 24 .
Everyone speeds in London. Nobody observes the 20mph limits.
Not even coaches, which is quite terrifying sometimes.
It wouldn't be an officially calibrated device and so inadmissable as evidence. And in any case bike speedos are invariably very inaccurate in my experience, I wouldn't be sure she was speeding. Didn't look like much more than 20 anyway.
@@eddyrichards8474The white lines are painted at 6m centres so you can use those to give a rough guesstimate of the speed, as they're being passed at a bit more than 1 every second, so say 7m/s which is 25kmph.
@@roaduser6438ie about 16mph
Ironic that you were on your way to court regarding the exact same offence. Do you think magistrates should award extra points for style?
Mikey, your home address was published on social media.
This is the state of British drivers I'm afraid 😔
Mikey does get around London on yr bike
It's a great way to travel, and you can go much further and faster than most people realise.
should make it 9 points.
What job does he do? All i ever see is him riding around winding everyone up, what a sad little life.
He's like a modern day sheriff.
Who is sad? You're sad. You're crying salty tears because bad driving is being caught and punished. You're salty because you identify with criminal drivers.
Your reaction tells me that you're worried about being caught by other camera cyclists and drivers.
Tens of thousands of cyclists run video cameras and will report bad driving around them. From now on you'll remember this conversation every time you see cyclists on the road, and you'll think about some of us filming you. Some of our cameras are very easy to see, like GoPros, and some are nearly impossible to spot. Have fun looking for cyclists' cameras on the road.
I'm not even in the top ten most prolific reporters in London.
In 2022 almost 15,000 reports were made by the public that resulted in the Met issuing a notice of intended prosecution. This is in London alone. I did only 383 of those.
I suggest you drive properly around us all. Feel paranoid. Google your own number plates. Regularly.
"winding everyone up" The fact that his actions wind you up says an awful lot more about you than it does him.
In before the pron bots!
Not quite, one already beat you!
@@CyclingMikey It's gone now.
Its sad that YT will delete my comments if i swear but do nothing about those bots. It appears they consider bad language more morally corrupting than what the bots are promoting
Saw some really weird ones on someone else's vid. All had the same pictures (big booty), but asked things like "do you enjoy outdoor activities?" and "would you prefer to live somewhere hot or cold?"

1:35 surely that bus made an illegal move there?
There was a bus stop just before lights. The bus has to get over to the right lane somehow
Nice one 👍👍👍👍🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Nice work
Mikey's quite good at flapping his gums as well.
Flapping her gums. Fantastic expression!
Naughty bus driver in a left turn only lane and then driving straight across.
TBF it's kinda hard to get into the straight on lane when it's busy like that, having just stopped at the bus stop in the left turn lane. It's not illegal driving, that's for sure.
Caused by a poorly located bus stop just before the junction, who acknowledged the problem by flashing his hazard lights, the driver had no choice.
Every "luxury vehicle" driver is selfish, childish, entitled and rude until they have to show up in court or confront a police officer.
Totted.
In filming that you crossed the central white line reversing your bike and unnecessarily stopped in the opposite carriageway with your attention on the other driver rather than the road . May or may not be illegal but it’s hardly good highway conduct.
It's legal and the police are fine with it. Your opinion is irrelevant and wrong.
"rather than the road" I wasn't aware that attention was an 'either, or' thing. I seem to be able to pay attention to my brakes, speed, what's in front of me, what's behind, the surface, all sorts. Am I superhuman or are you mistaken and it's possible to pay attention to more than one thing at a time?
??
sad little man
Yes you are
We all hope you feel better soon.
It's good that you acknowledge you're a sad little man. The first step to fixing it is acknowledging it.
White, Female and super privileged.
I'm not sure what race and gender have to do with it. Super privileged, absolutely correct.
It's a well known category.@@mrflaxtv81
