    Ive just got Ableton live lite. I've watched a LOT of tutorials .. could not for the life of me do anything because they were too complex. The simplicity of the lesson here is EXACTLY what I needed !!!

    You went over every baffling and nonintuitive step it took to make that beat. I learned a great deal from this excellent presentation. No fluff or filler, just professionalism.

    Why do people overcomplicate the simple? Thank you for staying more focused on my learning than your own level of expertise in this video. Other Ableton UA-cam videographers should take notice and emulate your approach to education.

    Great video thank you! Good to know it is trial and error/personal preference to find a beat that we like. At first, I thought that we had to follow some sort of formula to create a great sound.

      You can always copy others but I think trial and error makes it more personal!

    Hi! I love your clear and relaxed videos. I have a question: is there a way to copy a loop for a specific number of bars quickly without having to copy and paste? Because if you are doing the drum base for a song (verse or chorus) it can get quite long.

    • @WriteASong
      @WriteASong  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment. In the video we used the session view. If you go to the arrangement view by clicking the 3 horizontal lines in the top right of the program and then find the loop you are using (you may need to drag it across from the session view) you can drag it across as many bars as you want and it will simply repeat the number of bars you set in the clip view under the yellow loop button.
      I hope that helps, I'm not sure how else I can help you without copy/pasting or selecting notes, right clicking and duplicating.

    My Ableton 10 doesn’t look like YOUR Ableton 10…the mixer section doesn’t have the magical unmute button and my idiot track has just up and decided to kill its own sound without any indication of how or why!

    • @WriteASong
      @WriteASong  2 роки тому

      Sorry to hear that. I'm using Ableton Live 11 Lite in the video. I'm not sure if that explains the difference?

      @@WriteASong I ended up having to insert a new MIDI track, find the sound that I originally used, and then copy the contents of track four to track five then delete track four. I still do not know what mysterious occurrence made track four completely dead…

      @@WriteASong By the way, do you happen to know if Native Instruments Komplete 13 has woodwind instruments hidden away in there somewhere? Like flutes, clarinets, oboes, uellian pipes? I have also NOT found any french horns either. Just GOBS AND GOBS of WORTHLESS synth wave sounds and a meager selection of REAL instruments and punchy brass horns/horn sets! For the price I paid, it should have had a KOMPLETE orchestra, when the keyboard it replaced (my Yamaha PSR 530) had upwards of 630+ sound patches in it. SADLY, I cannot use those sounds unless I play the keyboard into a microphone and into an audio track now. The strings were WAY more responsive, no latency, and I had all of the beautiful horn sounds and other keyboard sounds (accordions, calliopes, etc.) that I ever needed. Just barely passable drum sounds and CRUMMY cymbal crashes that didn’t ever last for longer than a half-second. If you know of any goid cheap (or free) woodwind VST’s that have french horns (basically orchestral horns) along with tympani drums, could you recommend it/them to me? THANK YOU!

    • @WriteASong

      I'm sorry I don't know of anything cheap / free that would help you. All the good VSTs that I am aware of are expensive. If another viewer sees this they might be able to help you...🤞
