You guys should sell a complete bolt-on single turbo kit for these 3.8 Mustangs and price it around $3,000. I see lots of kids driving these old v6 Mustangs because the 3.8s are such solid little engines, I'm sure the kit would bring new found popularity to these little cars once people see they can hang with modern cars with just a weekends worth of work.
@@JtRocks Yessir lmk I currently have just the k&n intake on mine and I was gonna stop putting parts on it and save up for a gt but now I’m thinking about just doing a little bit more to it
@@bm853 I was in your same dilemma regarding the GT or not. I just picked up a really clean V6 and I'm going to see where it takes me instead of worrying about the GT. People have done some amazing things with the V6.
Those MIRRORS though. I had to look up what the originals look like because I have no idea what the mirrors look like on my recently purchased New Edge, they're that memorable. These fit the New Edge much much better. I'll be getting some when I have the money.
Just eyeing it, but the difference in bore between those two looks like a hell of a lot more than 3 mm (basically, 1.5 mm along the perimeter). I saw somewhere online that the OEM TB is 56 mm. Pause at 3:55. There's no way that stock TB is only 3 mm smaller in diameter.
I tested a bigger TB and CAI on my old 3.8 and also on my 2V, made no extra power. Don’t waste your time or money. A bigger TB won’t add any power to this motor since it’s not a restriction. You’d gain more from a windstar swap and same money in the process.
Is there any supercharger kit available for these years of Mustang V6 I know that you can use the ones off of the old Thunderbirds V6 but for the most part you have to gather up all the parts individually if you're not lucky enough to find somebody with the whole package
No it’s not, I did that for a test and dyno showed no extra power. AFRs didn’t change, and IATs didn’t either because these cars come stock with a CAI. TB and CAI are a colossal waste of time and money.
I know this doesn’t really add any hose power but will it at least give me better throttle response because when downshifting when i blip the throttle it doesn’t get to higher rpm fast will this help?
Dontmatter01 The only difference from the 99-00 and 2001-2004 BBk throttle body is we’re the Throttle cable connects . I have a 99 mustang and I bought the 01-04 BBK throttle Body, and I replaced the throttle body Cable with a 01-04 since I was planning on replacing it because it was stretched & loose of age.
You youtubers never show the real deal. I pulled all both bolts and nuts off my throttle body and guess what.. it's still stuck on there just as tight as if i hadn't removed anything. The two Philips screws holding the TPS sensor? - same thing. Cannot move them. Been in place for almost 20 years. Where in your video does it show how to deal with that? I guess if you've owned your car for all 20 and pulled hardware off, lubed them and reinstalled em it would be as simple as your video. Otherwise your video only shows half the job.
I'm sure youve got it since you have posted this comment, but for others in your situation. Use a rubber mallet if the TB is stuck in the intake and clamp the TB in a soft jaw vise and use a impact screwdriver to aid in the removal of the screws for the sensor.
Frank White my fox makes 400hp and a throttle body is a waste of money lmao. I can literally port the stock and my manifolds for free and make the same gains if not more
Frank White and I had a 68mm on my old 97 gt on nitrous and it made barely any difference more of a throttle response increase than anything and looks mine was a vms throttle body

100% agree with you 👍
Id buy that.
Would love to buy a turbo kit

Same I agree … I’d get one as well
I had this BBK Throttle Body Installed in my mustang paired with a CAI , and I love the Throttle response
What cai do you have?
@@bm853 i have the bbk cai, i just ordered the throttle body, do you want me to let you know how it goes? Im gonna tune it as well

Nice V6 really like the color match mirrors with the black accent , window louvers really cool nice stance too. Wish my V6 was that clean

For real bro the stock on could almost fit inside the new 65mm
I would like to have seen a dyno run before and after.

Bubba Parrish Procharger makes them. AM has them or you can just Google it.
It is also a good time to put in a cai while you have it all apart. If you have not already done so.

Is the intake manifold the same size as the stock throttle body?
I want to know that too, I need a new throttle body but not an intake, personally wanted to keep intake manifold stock
why am I watching this I have a GT. haha
Michael Vigil because stang v6 lives Matter too 🙃

Does this fit with the SR performance CAI? It was already a tight fit so I’m afraid it won’t fit well
You should of Dynoed it before and after. No way on earth that increased 10 HP.
10hp at the crank..
10 hp max if tuned, realistically it’ll only be around 5hp
Hi what is the red cable for? What is it called because mine have no tension i think that cable broke. I have transmission problem.

Can I install a 78mm on an 03 GT with no tune? Just have gears and a cold air intake
Sean Colon yes but it wont add any hp
Thanks for not showing how to put the throttle cable back on at all or what the original gasket actually looks like when you take it off.
Would this fit on a windstar intake?
EvoSean where did you buy your windstar intake from ?
manny T the junkyard off an 01
Biggest issue with these 99-04 Base Mustangs, is the fact they can't breath, mostly due to the four cats and muffler.
Not to mention the very small intake
Mine way too stiff has way too much spring on it
What about 2001?
Is there a bbk throttle body for a 2002 ford f150 4.2l
It would be this

its the gasket, it isnt rocket science, just pry it off. Mine and every other one I've worked on just pops right off
I've never done that job but I would get the engine hot to and yank it. impact might help too.

Would this be compatible with the airaid poweraid throttle body spacer?
victor medina probably not since the throttle body spacer was designed for the factory throttle body. You can try but it might not be worth it.
