I have never seen so many timestamps in a video. My thinking is that 5 is the most full range and even. A solid choice. Though I quite like the character of the 2. Like you said all are good. Thanks Greg.

Thank you very much for putting this together! I can hear some differences between 5 and 2. (3 for me sounded the same as 2) and 4 is a really good choice. I do have a 339 with A5 and must confess I do find them very bright. The questions here is: Do you think is worth spending the money at upgrading pickups?

A fantastic video! This is how pickup comparisons should be done. I really liked the p90s with the a2 and a3 in the bridge and a3 just winning it for the neck.
What ohms did you wind the p90s to?

Thanks. I'd need to lookup my notes, but they were standard 'vintage correct' number of turns. Slightly more for the bridge pickup. Possibly 10% difference between them.

They sound almost identical. Maybe the A3 is just a tiny bit clearer & more balanced? Or maybe I'm just imagining it.

No, it’s quite subtle. They are different, but nowhere near as much as pickup manufacturers would have us believe. 😇
